  • Business Objects In Portal Content Studio

    Hi All,
I Installed a business package for CRM in EP 6.0 SP09 and I created aliases SAP_BW and SAP_CRM for the CRM and BW systems and assigned roles to users and was accessing them.
The Business Objects Folder in Portal content studio was empty even after the installation of BP, but Later when I checked that I found a Folder "SAP_BW"  under "Business Objects" Folder. I just want to know how did these objects come there and how
Could someone please clarify this to me.
    Thank you

    Hi Ignacio,
Should they be transported manually to the QA system or will they again be created automatically when I start accessing these BW iviews in QA system.
will it save me the loading time of a template if I transport this business objects folder to QA system by creating a transport package.
    Thank you
    Shiva

  • BI content with folder structure in portal Content Area

    HI Dear Friends,
I have  a requirement in my current project where i am integrating the BI reports with SAP EP.Iviews are associated with BI Reports. In the portal on clicking workset it should display folders in the portal content area with Icons instead of in Detail navigation .On click of the displayed folders it should display its sub content with Icons.
I tried in all ways but later i came to know there there is a SAP BI business package which would come up with predifined iviews associated with BI. By importing this business package we can dispaly the  BI content in the portal in a folder format .
I am using BI and EP 7.0 versions.
    Ratnakar

    Ratnakar,
Let me understand your requirements, correct me if I understood it wrong. You need to display BI reports in Folder structure that is similar when you log on through BEx analyzer or WAD. If this is correct, then you need to upload the BI Role which contain all the required Folder structures and it BI Queries or BI Queries url assigned to that role.Once you upload this role on to portal , you will see folder structure on PCA.
    Example
    BI Reports  - Folder 1
      I--> FI reports  -- Subfolder 1
      I            I--> AP reports 1
      I--> CO reports  -- Subfolder 2
                   I--> Cost Report 1
    Hope it helps,
    Cheers,
    Balaji

  • ESS application systems creation in Portal content area

    Hi ESS experts,
I had struck up in the systems creation part of the ESS implementation in EP7, ECC6.
I have the ESS set up guide by Siddhartha Jain which is just short of details on how to set up the systems for system alias SAP_Webdynpro_XSS, ITS, and back end R/3 system creation in the system and how to test the connections.
Can any one give a detail guide on how to set up the various systems in the Portal content directory to that the Ess application can be launched in the portal?
I had deployed the BP as described in the guide (and guided by the forum members) and all my Jco connections are Green in color. I need to complete the system creation and user creation in the portal and launch the ESS applicaiton in portal.
(Set up the first system on the Portal J2EE server in which the business package has been implemented and assign the system the alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS.) Here is the step I need help!!!
Please help, and thanks in advance,
    Regards

    Hi Vinod,
    Thanks for the immediate response.
Can you please guide me on the below statement?
    >>>Then you need to specify the details of that system and various other properties
Assign the aliases and then test the connectivity. <<<
I do not know which are the system details and other properties that need to be defined to get the connection test passed. I am very new to portal and I need your advise and guidance.
    Please help.
    Thanks and regards

  • Migration of portal content from EP 6.0 SP 15 to NW 2004s Portal

    Hi,
Our requirement here is to migrate Portal content from EP version 6.0 SP15 to the latest Netweaver portla (NW2004s). Expecting helpful suggestions from SAP EP gurus!!!
All helpful answers will be rewarded. Gurus, please help!!!
    Cheers,
    L Buegg.

    Leena,
These are the steps in migrating the portal content from the EP 6 SP15 to the Netweaver Portal (EP 7.0 or the NW 2004s Portal) in simple:
    1. Go to <b>System Administration -> Transport -> Portal Content</b>. Right click on the folder, you wish to transport. Select <b>New -> Transport Package</b> .
    2. Fill all the details (like name of the transport package, id etc) and then add the objects(iViews, Pages etc) you wish to transport to the newly created transport package by right clicking on the objects.
    3. Once the objects are all added, click on Export in the object editor of the Transport package and the export happens immediately.
    4. Navigate to Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Export of the EP 6 SP 15 Portal Server. You will see the epa file created during this export process.
    5. Copy this epa file and place it in Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Import folder structure of the NW 2004s Portal Server. Go to <b>System Administration -> Transport -> Import</b> and do the import as you would import any business package.
This are the steps to export and import the portal content from one portal server to another portal server.
    Hope this helps!!!
    Sunitha.

  • No preview button or option for all ESS MSS iViews under portal content

    Hi All,
We are doing a green field implementation for one of our clients, we have installed ECC 6.0 with EHP5 in R/3 system and SAP Netweaver Portal 7.02 with SP8. We have also deployed suitable ESS MSS business components from service market place.
    BP_ERP5ESS 1.41
    BPERPESSWDA  1.50
    BP_ERP5MSS 1.51
As it is EHP5 in ECC all the Homepage framework, Areas, Sub areas, services are preconfigured for standard ESS MSS business areas.
In Portal side under Portal content - Content Provided by SAP - End User Content - Employee Self Services -
we are not able to preview any of the iViews. can anyone suggest whether what may be wrong...?

    Hi Sandeep,
    1. Yes we are accessing portal through FQDN
    2. IE 6.0
    3. I mentioned above, its SAP Netweaver 7.02 with SP8
    4. Yes, the user I am using has Super Administrator role
    5. There are roles for ESS in ECC
This problem of preview is for other iViews also. I mean other than ESS MSS iViews.
    Thanks,
    Kalam.

  • Portal Content Copy Folder Error

    Hi,
In Portal Content Admin, the folders <b>Key Account Manager</b> & <b>CRM</b> are provided by business package and located under <i>Content Provided by SAP -> specialist</i>.
When these folders are copied to another folder for further customization, <b>Key Account Manager</b> is copied successfully but for <b>CRM</b>, following error message is shown:
    Copy: CRM
    Error
Source object not found. It may have been deleted.
Then, I tried to copy <b>CRM</b>'s subfolder. Small folders (packages, pages, roles, templates) completed successfuly but the complicated folders (iViews & Worksets) failed with the same error message.
Although I can try to copy the sub-folders one by one, it is too tedious & error-prone.
How can the <b>CRM</b> folder be copied completed?
    Regards,
    Tony

The reason for the error is still unknown.
By the way, with the help of Content Mirroring, this error is not an issue for me anymore. Using Content Mirroring instead of Copy & Paste is also suggested by SAP document: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/ed/fd25c7c14c4094a9fbb19851d79dd1/content.htm

  • Problems with MDM 5.5 SP05 Portal Content - ResultSet iView

    Hello Experts,
We are having problems with standard iViews from MDM 5.5, more specific with ResultSet iView. We created an iView using English as default browser’s language but our client wanted it in Portuguese, so in the MDM Repository both languages were defined and used in MDM Data Manager, when passed to the Portal iView an error occur, but only in a ResultSet iView from the MDM Portal Content, the others iViews (itemDetails, PicklistSearch, etc...) are shown in Portuguese, and we cannot figure out why it works fine in English and not in Portuguese. We left the default language defined by client’s browser. Below I’m sending the LOG, which by the way, doesn't help much, but I put it also here. Any ideas of what should I do ?
    LOG ERROR:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: unknown format type at
We are using Portal 7.0 SPS11 and MDM 5.5 SP05 - Portal Content in a Win2003/Oracle server each.

    Alex,
sorry to disturb you with this issue, can you explain me basic steps in order to setup standard MDM iviews from the portal?
I mean, I have already installed all standard mdm business content, and also have configured system and aliases in the portal to connect to my mdm repositories. Those system/aliases are working propperly.
But, when I try to preview standard MDM iviews/pages I got several JAVA errors in trace logs.
Specific iviews are: Item Details, Show products, etc..any iview execution fails.
So, am I missing something?, do i have to create a specific user in portal?, assign specifi roles or groups???.
    Platform is: nw2004s SR2, SP11, MDM content 5.5
    Thank you in advance.

  • Transport of portal content objects from EP 6 SP 15 to NW 2004s portal

    Hello All,
My question is regarding the transportation of portal content from a EP 6 SP 15 portal to the NW 2004s portal. We had developed a lot of content in the EP 6 portal. We had installed and configured business packages in the SP 15 portal.
Now, we installed a new NW 2004s portal and we want to transport all the developed content from the SP 15 to the new NW 2004s portal.
I exported all the developed content to a transport package on the SP 15 portal and the export resulted in the .epa file. I then imported it into the new NW 2004s portal. But the issue now is I am unable to see the system aliases which were created for all the systems. The systems do exist in the new portal but the aliases do not exist.
Is there anything that needs to be done to get the system aliases?
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sunitha.

    Hi Sunitha,
I think while exporting you have to select the option include dependant objects also to get the system alias also.

  • Detailed Portal Content Portfolio Documentation

Does anyone know where to find detailed pictures and descriptions of the iViews inside of a business package? The documentation inside of the Portfolio Content Manager does not seem to provide a lot of detail, beyond one line descriptions. And, the documentation seems to focus on technical details. I work in IT. I would like to be able to show the folks from our business areas more information, without actually downloading entire packages. And, I am looking for a format that will make it clear to them, what specific iviews would provide.

    Hi,
in the Portal Content Portfolio, you can find Screenshots for a lot of the packages.
Access the detailed information of a package and look for the link 'Screenshot Sampler'. This will open a html page containing the screenshots of the iViews or worksets.
For a lot of business packages, the business description part of the documentation focuses on the role, workset and page level, so there is only technical documentation of the iViews available. Some of them however, will also offer additional information on iView level.
