Hi Uday
Read the business package installation guide which you can download from following link.
http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000065927
The name of the guide is
Business Package SAP CRM 4.0 50.2 (60.2) Installation (en)
Read the PAGE 13-14 of the guide. You need to activate CRM
Context Service. I am pasting you the text from the guide.
To activate the CRM Context Service, proceed as follows:
1. Rename the file com.sap.pct.crm.AdditionalDeployment.par to
com.sap.pct.crm.AdditionalDeployment.zip and extract the file into a new directory <TargetDirectory>. This file is in the directory to which you extracted the Business Package for CRM 4.0.
2. Rename the file com.sap.pct.crm.crmcontext.zar in the directory < TargetDirectory > to
com.sap.pct.crm.crmcontext.par.
3. Rename the file com.sap.pct.crm.crmkmext.zar in the directory < TargetDirectory > to
com.sap.pct.crm.crmkmext.par.
4. Start the Enterprise Portal with the following URL and log in with a user administrator rights:
http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/PortalAnywhere.Go
5. Go to com.sap.portal.runtime.system.console, ArchiveUploader and select GO.
6. Select the file com.sap.pct.crm.crmcontext.par and select Upload.
7. Select the file com.sap.pct.crm.crmkmext.par and select Upload.
8. Restart the J2EE server.

Rajeev.

    Deb,
Thank you very much for your response.  You made very clear the question I had about <host Name>:<Port>.
However,  When I put those settings into the "system" and then i try to test i get the following results:
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
    2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
    3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
    5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
    6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.
    7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
    8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. The system was retrieved.
    3. The system object represents an SAP system
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (bus0230.baldor.com:53600)
    5. The host name bus0230.baldor.com was resolved successfully.
    6. The server bus0230.baldor.com could not be pinged successfully.
Should I be concerned that the server cannot be ping successully?  I see that step 7 says this will only be sucessful if the services is activated on teh ABAP WAS.  So i am thinking this test will not complete successfully?

  • Reg: Basics of business package implementation

    Hi,
Can someone provide me some documentation for basics on business package implemantation.
and i have a question, once the business package is installed on the portal, the respective roles and the iviews will appear in the specialist folder? or we have to do something from portal end?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jyothi,
Below are the steps for implementing BP in portal,
    1.     Derive the right business packages from System landscape study and analysis
    2.     Download the business package and the supporting components from Service market place through SolMan
    3.     Deploy the downloaded packages into portal through SDM (Software Deployment Manager)
    4.     Configure SLD(System Landscape Directory) and JCo (Java Connector)
    5.     Create Portal System Object for backend connection
    6.     Configure the Backend system
    7.     Configure and Customize the portal contents
Once you deployed the business package into portal, the portal contents such as iViewss, Pages, roles etc will appear under content admin -> portal content -> content provided by SAP folder.
Just serch in SDN for the suitable documentation.

  • Business Package implementation on EP6 SP9

    Hi all
i want to use the business package for sales and implement it in EP6 SP9. I got the package (BPSALESAN601_0-20000653.zip) from the market place. I uploded it to the server. But it is not working in EP side.
    Please help me...

    Hi Bobu,
This seems to be problem wiht System Name parameters for the iViews(Property Editor) generated by uploading the package.
      1. You have to create the system in the portal for the SAP system which you want to connect.
      2. Create an alias for the system
      3. Set the system parameter to the above ailas for the uploaded iViews.
      4. Assign the role created to the required user.
I think above steps will solve your problem. If it solves dn't forget to give me points

  • ESS Business Package Implementation

    Hi Gurus,
Please Help with the configuration of the ESS BP.
First I have been using Siddhartha Jain's guide for Configuring the Business Package for ESS.
We have successfully created all the JCo connections, but we are having difficulties configuring the three systems:  SAP_WebDynpro_XSS and SAP_ITS_EBU and SAP_R3_Financials.
To provide background information on our overall landscape we currently have the following configured:
    ECC 5.0
NW2004s (7.0) Java Web AS running EP
NW2004 Java Web AS running only XSS components for ESS/MSS
In Siddhartha's guide he describes setting up the SAP_WebDynpro_XSS alias wiht the WAS properties.  The issue we are having is with the WAS host name <J2EE Name>:<port>
Question:  Should the Host name be the name of our Java Web AS stack running the XSS components or the name of our Java Web AS stack running Enterprise portals?  Also which port should accompany the Host Name?
Question:  Regarding the SAP_ITS_EBU alias configuration, where can we determine our ITS 6.40 Name and Port number?
    Thank you in advance,
    Steven Allspach
PS, will award points for helpful input.

  • Best Practice to implement Business Packages

    Hello All,
    Need some clarification -
What is the best practice to implement ESS/MSS Business Package onto Portal -
    (1) Should I just import and configure the content     OR
    (2) Should I import, create a copy and then configure it? If yes, are there any points to be kept in mind?
All blogs/articles that have been published show to configure the standard content.
The requirement is to maintain a different prefix/namespace for each Portal content that comes along the business package?
    Thanks,
    Ritu

    Hi Paul,
I also build my own roles. The only time I might use the standard roles is for demo purposes early in a project.  You will find that in some cases the business packages like MSS don't always even include standard roles, so you have no choice but to build.
I never change any of the standard iViews/Pages/Worksets - ever.
The most contentious issue seems to be whether to do a full or delta link copy of the standard objects.  I tend to initially do a full copy of the objects into a custom folder set in the PCD and modify those. Then I only use delta links from Page to iViews where I need the option of setting different properties for the same iView if it appears in multiple pages.  Delta links can be a bit flakey at times, so I tend to only use them where I have to.  I suspect that I may get to a point where I don't use them at all.
    Just my 2 cents worth....

    John

  • Turnaround Time to Implement Business Packages

    Hello,
I am looking to find some benchmarking material on what it takes to download and implement with data loaded from backend system a 'out of the box' Business Package.
    Any info would be helpful.
    regards,
    Tom/

    Hi Volker,
This comment was part of document - Business Process Monitoring Set-up and User Guideline for Release ST 4.0 and ST-SER 700_2007_1.
3 Prerequisites for Business Process Monitoring
Business Process Monitoring is not just activated by pressing a button in the SAP Solution Manager and
therefore the configuration of Business Process Monitoring is currently not intended as a customer selfservice.
Instead, the procedure to set up Business Process Monitoring in the SAP Solution Manager is rather
realized by the delivery of the SAP Solution Management Optimization (SMO) Service for Business
Process Management due to the complex nature of the overall configuration of Business Process Monitoring.
However, it is possible (but not recommended) for customers to configure Business Process Monitoring by
themselves without any guidance of SAP.
    Thanks.

  • Business packages for SRM to implement EP

    Hi All,
We are implementing SRM 5.5 in our company. Also, EP 7.0 we are implementing for SRM. Can anyone help me how to get the business packages for SRM and supplier collaboration, as i cant download it from sdn, as it is unrestricted shipment.
Also, how to import these business packages into EP.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sailesh K

    Hiya,
Yann already pointed out where to find the BP for SRM. The Business Package for Supplier Collaboration is also available from the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio">Portal Content Portfolio</a> in the Specialist section. You want to go for the 2.0 release.
    Installation:
In SAP NetWeaver 2004s, the portal is installed as a usage type via SAPINST. For installing the Business Package for SRM 5.0, the installation process also goes via SAPINST. Please follow SAP note 883948.

  • Business Packages Maintenance Planner 1.2 and Buyer 1.4 implementation

    Hi Team,
We would like to implement below Business Packages on our landscape.
Business Package for Maintenance Planner 1.2
    Business Package for Buyers 1.4
Could any one advice any technical documentation with steps to be followed to implement the entire BPs.
I'm not able to find any standard PDF to follow, that would be really helpful if any one could provide template document with the steps to be followed
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hi,
No need to worry. This is pretty straightforward. I have deployed many BPs using the following approach.
For each BP that is available, you also have corresponding config steps in help.sap.com.
For Business Package for Maintenance Planner 1.2 - http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/46/66a9bd5d9d5de5e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
For Business Package for Buyer 1.4 -
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/4b/8d453396515685e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
You need to proceed as follows: (I am assuming you have already downloaded the package files)
    1. Deploy the BP files using JSPM.
    2. Follow the URLs for each BP above and you will find prerequisites and technical description and configuration information in these URLs (expand the page to get the frame on the left hand as well.) Follow the config steps, they would be pretty well descriptive.
Once done, you can assign the appropriate roles to the users who are going to use these functionalities. The roles are also documented in the same URLs.

  • Standard Workflow for implementation of MSS Business Package 1.41 EP 7.0

    Hi Experts,
In our project we have to implement most of iViews of ESS Business Package 1.41. We are using EP 7.0 SPS 15. Can you please provide me the list Standard Workflow needed to complete the work.
    Regards,
    Gary

Tht's correct because update is a cumulative one. When you worked on ESS 1.0, it had single folder as you mentioned but when you upgrade to EHP4, it also included portal content for updates in b/w i.e. EHP2 and EHP3. You'll notice that roles/worksets are all the same that were used earlier and only the iview/pages that are affected/added in each ehp upgrade are listed under that corresponding ehp folder.
    cheers~
