Business Partmer number ranges

Hi Gurus,
I would welcome others who have experienced the following issue with BP number ranges in SRM 5.
Basically, the system has been set so that when Business Partners are created by the system, for example end users, org plan nodes and so on, the system standard internal interval and number range 0000000001-0999999999 is used from t-code BUCF. Now the issue is, we are about to bring over our R/3 vendor records who also use the same number range, for example vendor number 300012 and as it is impossible to create two number ranges which overlap in customising t-code BUCF, even though the R/3 number range would be external.
Aside from using u201Cu201DInternal Number Assignment Onlyu201Du201D selection on BBP_VENDOR_GET_DATA, which I do not want to use, what other options are available in SRM 5 to get by this?
Thanks,
Steve Walsh

Hi
Here you need to understand what difference between vendor number and BP.
In SRM the system will recognize any object through BP only.  and for vendor we need config a number rang  in cross applicationsetting as like as in ecc.  why becuase we stright way replicating the vendors from sap back end system.  for accouting purpose we need the same number.
that we did we in cross application settings.
do write to me if you have any queries on this

  • Business partner number range - Current number set to 0

I need to initialize business partner number range.
    TCode: BUCF
    0009000000 -0013999000  Current number 9000029
How can I set Current number to 0.
I have deleted business partners via BUPA_DEL. I need this to be set to 0 so that can bring in legacy data in the desired number range.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

From transaction BUCF, if you select "Status" tab it allows you to change current number.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • C4C - ERP business partner number range alignment

    Hi all,
Is there any way to ensure that business partners created in Cloud for customer get the same ID number in both C4C and ERP? As I understand it the ERP number is not assigned until the business partner is sent from C4C? So actually there are two number ranges assigned to a C4C business partner: the intenal C4C number range and the external number range.
If this assumption is correct, would a solution then be to make the internal and external C4C number ranges identical and then set up the replication in a way that all accounts are always sent to ERP (also prospects)? Would that keep the number ranges aligned or are there still risks that they will get out of sync?
I am very new to this so any input is highly appreciated :-)
    Br,
    Anders

    Hi Anders,
While business partners can be created in C4C and sent to ERP,  normally the actual account data is created in ERP and sent to the Cloud (maybe contacts are added in the Cloud).
However, number ranges are configured from the Cloud to ERP.  This is described in the integration guide at http://service.sap.com/cloud4customer.   In the Cloud you will:
    1. In the Business Configuration work center, choose the Implementation Projects view.
    2. Select the line that contains your project, and click Open Activity List.
    3. On the Activity List <…> screen, choose Fine-Tune.
    4. Click Integration of Business Partner Data from Your Cloud Solution to SAP ERP.
The system provides default number ranges for prospects, contacts, and customers that can be used in SAP ERP.
Make sure the number ranges you define match the number ranges defined in the ERP system.
When a business partner is replicated from one to the other, a confirmation is sent that has the external ID mapping.  That means the Cloud always knows the external number in ERP.  You can display this number or even search by it in the Cloud of you choose.    This is discussed in the integration guide in the "ID Mapping" section.  The integration will automatically create this ID mapping for you.  So, if you create a business partner in the cloud, send it to ERP, the ERP number for the partner is returned to the cloud and is the "external ID".
I hope this answers your question.
    all the best

  • ERP -- C4C BUSINESS PARTNER NUMBER RANGE ALIGNMENT

    Hi all,
is there any way to ensure that Customer, created in ERP and after downloaded in C4C, get the same ID number in both ERP and Cloud for Customer?
I've tried to download a Customer from ERP to C4C, defining the same range of ERP in Fine Tune-->General Business Partner-->Define Range Number for Business Partner and defining it as External and Manual (I can't change these parameters into Cloud).
But when I try to download, for testing, this Customer from ERP (with DEBMAS_CFS) it creates the Customer but with an ID which follows the Internal Range Number and so the ID between C4C and ERP are different. I would like to mantain in C4C the same ID number of ERP.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Delete external business partner number range

    Hi SRM gurus
We have implemented a BADI to prevent vendors of certain acct. group from rpelicating to SRM from R/3. Now we want to change the number range of business partner in SRM, which is external no. range. I want to confirm can we delete the external no. range and create a new external no. in SRM under the navigation, will it cause any side effects. SPRO->cross apllication->SAP Business partner->Busniess partner ->number ranges and groupings.
    Preste no. range is
    400000 - 600000 (PO) external
    700000 - 1000000 (XI)  external
I want to delete the PO no. range and create a no. range for XI which will look like:
    400000 - 1000000 (XI) external.

    Hi
<u>To avoid the problem of data loosing, pl setup number ranges as follows:
Menu: SPRO --> Cross-Application Components &#8594; SAP Business Partner &#8594; Business Partner &#8594; Basic Settings &#8594; Number Ranges and Groupings &#8594; Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges</u>
<b>Maintain both internal numbers and external number ranges here. The external number range should correspond with the R/3 vendor number range. Then you will not have a problem of data loosing.</b>
You have another configuration point in SRM that enable you to define number range by backend for PO, RS and RQ.
Please read the configuration help taht give you an example in transaction SPRO.

Using transaction "BP" which has the number "##1" delete the required Business partner. Also try using reports DELETE_ALL_BBP_USERS and BUPA_TEST_DELETE to delete Business partners.

  • CRM Business Partner number ranges

Could anyone comment on the following:
"The number ranges for Employees, Vendors and Customers must be different <in the backend>.
In ECC, these 3 are saved in different tables and this allows them to have overlapped number ranges.
But the CRM design is differs. The three of them are saved as Business Partners in one single table. Therefore you need to design and customize the number ranges in order to avoid the overlapping between these 3 in CRM"

That is correct. All types of organisations, internal organisations, and persons are saved in one table in crm, BUT000 using the so called SAP Central Business Partner (which exists also in ERP, but is used only for the ISU solutions, not in standard ERP).
Therefore the number ranges for these objects need to be non-overlapping. However, one needs to evaluate first whether all the objects you mention are really needed. It is also possible to see the original R/3 number in the identification tab (or in table BUT0ID).

  • Business Partner - Number Ranges and Groupings

    Hello,
A few weeks ago, we are activated RMCA components and activated Telecommunications 6.0 in a sand box client.
Now we are doing customizing and application of BP.
We want, and we could, to range BP in number range from 1 to 9999999999, as the costumers appear in our CRM system. But the problem is that we cannot do the same with AR/SD costumers because we already have old AR/SD costumers, not the same person, in the same range and we don't have not used range.
I know that we can to convert AR/SD costumers groups, but that problem is that we need to convert costumers number.
How we can open in the same number, the BP and AR/SD costumer? Can we reorganize the old SD costumers?
We sure that we are not the first company that implement RMCA in the middle of life cycle that already have AR/SD costumers.
    With best regards,
    Galia Ribinik.

    RM-CA:  Number ranges and groupings
Choose the following in the Customizing: Cross-Application Components ® SAP Business Partner ® Business Partner ® Basic Settings ® Number Ranges and Groupings.
Define the corresponding number ranges externally in RM-CA and ensure that this RM-CA number range includes both the internal and external CRM number range.
You can choose any name for the group, but it must be the same as the name in CRM.
    SD Customer Mapping
Choose the following in Customizing: Financial Accounting ® Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ® Customer Accounts ® Master Data ®Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data ® Create Number Ranges for Customer Accounts.
If you also want to create an SD customer during business partner replication, you must create a separate number range for this customer. Assign this number range to the corresponding account group. Choose the following in Customizing: Financial Accounting ® Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ® Customer Accounts ®Master Data ® Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data ® Assign Number Ranges to Customer Account Groups.
    ·SD Customer Mapping
Choose the following in Customizing: Financial Accounting ® Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ® Customer Accounts ® Master Data ® Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data ®Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Customers).
You must reconcile the account group settings for the business partner with the corresponding field groups for the business partner in CRM. If for example a field in RM-CA is not defined as a mandatory field in CRM, replication will fail if an entry has not been made in this field in CRM.
Use the PIDE transaction to control which CRM business partner classification is mapped to a specific account group in RM-CA.
Define the reverse situation here using the corresponding number range grouping.
    ·        Create and assign an SD sample customer
To generate an SD customer in RM-CA during the business partner replication, you require a reference business partner. This is used as a template during creation.
Choose the following in the system: Logistics ® Sales and Distribution ® Master Data ® Business Partner ® Customer ® Create ® Sales and Distribution  (Transaction VD01).
Create the sample customer using the account group described in the preceding step. The system name for the sample customer must start with the letters u201CMUSTu201D (such as MUSTER_TELCO).
You must also create the sales area data for the customer. Note that you must maintain each sales area used accordingly.
    ·        Assign SD sample customer
Assign the sample customer in the TCRMBP_REFCUST table (transaction SM30) and define the corresponding determination. If you only want the system to determine a specific sample customer, you can leave the Business partner category, Group and Partner type fields blank.

  • Business Partner Number Range

We are creating business partners in PLM system by transferring HR Masters from HR sysetm by PFAL. When we transfer it, business partner no is different and HR employee id is different.
We want to maintain number range for Business Partners in such a way that Business Partner no which is generated by HR transfer should contain Emp ID also. We have already maintained the number range in PLM as External but still we do not get the result as required. If anybody know, let me know the configurations required

  • Controlling Doc Number Range KANK

    Dear Experts,
I had created number range (KANK) in development server. But I am not able create a number range in sandbox and quality becoz there no element to aasign its just showing the element group. There is no list in not assigned creteria...
how to get those i.e. like COIN element in sandbox and quality....
    please assist me reg this..
    Regards,
    Balaji Bhonsle

    Hello Balaji,
I had faced a similar situation and I solved it by transporting the number range from the development system using transaction code OKE5 (do not use KANK to transport) within the transaction input the controlling area number in the first tab tick
Business Trans > Number range group assignment
    Intervals and group assignment
You should not use this transaction for transporting this to a live system.

  • Number range 01 does not exist

    Hi Gurus;
I am trying to create a Interest rate instrument with Product type 55G and Transaction type 200. Though the number range is defined in : SPRO  CFM  Basic Functions  SAP Business Partner for Financial Services  General Settings  Business Partner  Basic Settings  Number range and grouping  Define Number Ranges has No. Range as 01 but whenever I am trying to create this instrument for a particular co. code it is throwing an error as "Number range 01 does not exist". Has anybody got any idea for what to do?
    Regards;
    Sumanta

Your error message is related to treasury transaction number and not about business partner number range.  Please check the following path and maintain number range:
    FSCM-TRM-Transaction manager-Money Market-Transaction Management-Transaction types-Define number ranges
    Transaction Code : TAC1.
If this will not solve your error please try to have a look at the detailed error message and get back to the forum.

  • Separate BusinessPartner number ranges by authorisation

    Hi,
I found an entry in SPRO which allows you to create own authorisation objects (kind of). I have two number ranges of BP-numbers from R/3 (1-10000 and 50000-100000). In CRM the users which are allowed to see BPs from the first range mustnt see the BPs from the seconed (and vice versa).
Can anybody help me out why the SPRO-thing is not working? I checked the trace via TX st10 but no success. It seems nor really checked. In SPRO I can search for DynPro-Fields which should be compared to certain values but seems Im not using the right one.
I would be very happy if anybody could help me out here.
    Thanks in advance....

    Hello,
In CRM the business partner number range is directly lnked to the "Business Partner Grouping'. (Check SPRO>X App Functions>SAP Business Partner>Business Partner>Basic Settings>Number ranges and groupings>Define Groupings and Assign number ranges)
For Business Partner Grouping a standard authorization object is available. Maybe you can handle your authorization via this object?
Another option is to use CRM ACE for this kind of authorizations. ACE is "dynamic" authorizations but quite complex to explain in two sentences.
Hope this info might give you some new/other perspectives on how to handle/model your requirement.

  • Number ranges for Business Partner

    Hello experts,
Can you please guide how to define different number ranges for differenet different parner functions such Bidder and Employee.
Presently when I create a new employee for a Business partner who has newly registered with SRM, they both are getting same range of BP number, which makes the user list very long to manage/search while creating BID/Auction invitation.
Please guide me. Thanks in advance

    Hello,
find below the settings of table T77S0 in our system. We use grouping Z4 for org units. Be aware of the fact that number range and grouping have to have the same ID in this case.

  • Number range Issue for Business partners

In our Feeder system (SAP ECC), the number ranges are over lapped for customers and vendors.
For example  Customer master record : 100245 is for ABC customer and Vendor Master record: 100245 is for XYZ vendor.
When these records were transferred from ECC to GTS,  both were transferred.  When searching for a business partner using external number 100245 in GTS  it pulls out two records.
First question:  Will this be an issue?
Second Question: Is there any way, we can transfer Vendors and Customers which can use  different number ranges  in GTS?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    1. As soon as we consider only one feeder system overlapping number ranges is not  an issue. one external number can be assigned to two internal ones as business partners are having different roles. One as customer and one as vendor.
    2. It is not possible to be done with standard functionality as business partners have only one common number range. It would be possible to do a bit of a coding mainly renaming/renumbering within transfer user exit.
    Hope this answers your questions,
    BR,
    Gabriel.
