Business role for technical users

Hi,
Does SAP deliever a crm 7.0 business role for technical/consultant users? I need to get access to the configuration mode i the webclient where I can change and add new fields. Can anybody help me?

Create the Power User role as instructed in the document.
This will enable to to complete configuration tasks.

Authorizations & Business roles for ITSM

Dears,
i would like to ask whoever implemented an ITSM as a service desk for an IT organization, after setup the Organizational Structure (Organizational Model) and setup the Organizational Unit (Sold To Part) and Org. Object (Support team).
what is the best approach to give Authorizations & Business roles for :
1) new employee joined the company as an End User (Requester).
2) new employee joined the company as one of the IT Help desk (Dispatcher, Processor....etc.)

i hope you are assigning the Role to the Position cretaed in your org model.
That is by navigating thru
GO TO-DETAIL OBJECT-ENHANCED DETIAL DESCRIPTION-By creating new infotype for Business Role
here one can assign the Business Role with the position.
In case you are not assigning by above mentioned way. Try to do so. Hope this will help.

Assign a reference user to the 100+ users and create events in the factory calendar which assigns and removes the role from the reference user only.
The downside is that it is not scalable for many of the same concepts at the same time, because a dialog user can at one logon time only have one reference user assigned to them.

Business Role assignment to user

Hi all,
I am learning about the concept of business roles in CRM. In the forum discussions I see that the business role has to be assinged to the user even though we assign the PFCG role (linked to the business role) to the user. Like SU01 where we assign pfcg role to the user, what is the transaction code to assign the business role to the user.

Standard WebClient UI business role for the CRM 7.0

where can we get the below mentioned thing....i tried in service market place but i did not get
The predefined authorization roles are provided as attachment BP_CRM_ROLES.ZIP to the collective note of this SAP Best Practices version. Download and unzip the roles to your local directory
after dowloading we need to uplaod in to PFCG roles
(The purpose of this activity is to copy a standard WebClient UI business role and to assign a new authorization role to it. The WebClient UI business role is designed to centralize the authorizations, navigations, and content of the CRM WebClient UI.
The business roles will be adapted to the Best Practices scenario scope)

Hi Sreeram,
The roles you want to assign to the user you have to select for your scenario. The best practice role assigned to an user to navigate to the webclient. The other roles you assign to the user to give authoraization for your scenario. If you will go to C04 document you can get the standard roles which will be assigned to one particular user. For the standard user let sal SALES_MAN we assign the standard roles as peer the best practice as SAP_CRM_UIU_FRAMEWORK ,SAP_CRM_OR_ADMIN, SAP_CRM_OR_USER and BP_SLS_MANAGER. If you need other authorization for the user then copy the standard role and assign the authorization manually in transaction PFCG.

this is possible by assigning the Function Profile 'PERSONALIZATION' with value 'ALL_DISABLED' to your business Role in the Business Role Customizing.

Business Role Assignment to User by Organizational Model

We have created the organizational model in our system where we have the levels that are tied to a specific business role. We have been manually assigning all of our users to these organizational model levels in order to have the business role assignment. I am curious if there is a program or easier way to do this than to have to create the assignment to the employee record manually in the org model.

Hi Robert,
maintaining the user profile directly may be easier with only a few employees but for large companies this method will end up being more maintenance intensive.
for Org you only have to maintain it on the Org unit or position and all employees underneath will inherit the role; whether it's 2 individuals or 2000. and if the person is moved into a different position laterally or through promotion there would be no maintenance required as the information would replicate from HR (if you use/have the system) and the person would inherit the new position and role automatically.
for User parameter if you only have 2 individuals it is easier but 2000 is too much to maintain. there is some automation but would require you to create them and run them yourself.
pfcg at most companies do not fall under general master data maintenance and would require involvement from the security group and they often do not want to generate empty or unnecessary security/authorization profiles - the maintenance workload is shifted to them also in this case.

we have a scenario where a web service is called, which is exposed by XI. The XI asks for a technical user, when the service is called from an external application. How can we create a user, which is only able to be used in certain scenarios, so that it's not possible, that everybody who has the user can invoke all scenarios.

Hi David,
If I am not wrong, you are using Soap Adapter in XI for receiving webservice calls from 3rd Party Application.
Configure a user with no - roles and authorisation profiles in XI server first.
Then, this users need to be set up in Visual Administrator in XI server.
Ask your Basis to Follow the steps below:
1.Login to XI Visual Administrator.
2.Click on Services -->Security Provider --> Runtime --> Policy Configurations -->
Then select below under Components:
Sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter*XISOAPADAPTER --> then click on Security Roles -->
Select: xi_adapter_soap_message --> Modify and add your configured User here in Users tab.
Note: This will authorise your user without any roles.
In this way you can give above username and password to 3rd Party Application to configure at their end.
Since user don't have any access, nobody can misuse it and can only be used for webservice calls at XI server.
Implement this and if solve your problem , provide full points.

you can try table AGR_USERS,
UNAME for user and AGR_NAME = role(s) assigned.
or transaction SU01 to see user detail.
(normally bw developer no authorization for this).

HI,
as Anja wrote, this is not possible with a default installation of the SAP Portal.
What you can do is to provide role provisioning with IIDM, GRC or ABAP user store solution instead of giving the portal admin the permission to change role <-> user attribution.

Business roles for diffrent org positions

Hi guys,
I have an issue:
I have an organization model:
Org ABC-> Org A-> channel manager
-> Org B-> partner manager
I assigned channel manager role to channal manager in org A but when i assign partner manager role in org B , it overwrites the channel manager role for org A also. In short the organization model is taking only one business role. What could be the issue?
I have assigned the required PFCG roles to both the business roles.

In the User Administration section of your portal find your newly created user and below select "Assigned Roles" tab then press <Modify> button and look through available roles on portal then just simply add and save. But if you want to do it programmatically see below:

IUserAccountSearchFilter userFilter = userFactory.getUserAccountSearchFilter();
userFilter.setLogonUid("superuser", ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR, false);
ISearchResult sr = userFactory.search(userFilter);
for (final Iterator i = new PrincipalIterator(sr); i.hasNext();) {
IUserAccount user = (IUserAccount) i.next();
Execute the same search for IRole (or IGroup if needed) get the unique id of them and use newRole(...) and addUserToRole(...) methods from IRoleFactory.
Of course you don't need search for this principals if you know uniqueness of them. Use appropriate factories to get'em all by this unique id.
