  • Error while integrating Business rules (decision service) in BPEL

    hi'
    from some time I am struggling to integrate Business Rules with BPEL, I was successfully able to integrate it also.
    however now once again the same error has started coming.
    If it try to deploy the BPEL process it will give built failed but the BPEL process will come in the BPEL console
    and after passing the parameter it will give unable to find the decision service WSDL file.
    please advice what is the issue some time it works perfectly some time it shows error while deploying.

  • How to create business rule for 'Integrity constraint - child not found'

    Hello, I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
    When an integrity constraint is violated an error message coming from database is displayed in my application. In this case is the error "integrity constraint (TableName) violated - child record found "
    How can I personalize the error shown in this case? I tried with EO business rules but I couldn't find this key, only "Key exists" or "UniqueKey".
    Can anyone help?

    Check Catch Me If You Can article. This should be handled there as one of the errors thrown in the model layer. Check the AdfmErrorHandlerImpl ...

  • Integration with Corticon Business Rules Server

    Has anyone integrated the Corticon Business Rules Server into BEA WL ? The CBR Server can be deployed as a stateless session bean, but I am not really sure hwo to integrate a session bean into WL. Maybe sonmeone can point me to the proper docs. If someone has used Corticon, it would be even better!
    Thanks

    There are two ways you can do it.
    1. Oracle Business Rules can be exposed as standard soap based web-services that can be consumed in OSB through Business Services. Proxy Services in OSB can call these BS created out of the rules services in their message pipelines.
    2. Second option is to use DIRECT-BINDING to communicate between a Rule based Composite and OSB. Direct Binding optimizes the communication between OSB and SOA servers at the transport level.
    Here are some couple of blogs that u might find helpful

  • Business Rules and BPEL integration

    hi
    can u provide me information on how to integrate Business Rules with BPEL. do provide me any documents related to this, if any.

    Hi,
    In the new 10.1.3 release (scheduled to hit the streets this summer) Oracle provides business rules support in the BPEL product.
    Supported in 10.1.3 are Ilog Jrules as well as Oracle's own business rules engine that will be contained in the package.
    More info on new features can be found in a recent web seminar for which the replay can be obtained here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/htdocs/webinars.html.

  • Business rule assignment in Process Control 10.0, does not show any Control

    Hi All,
    I have created Organization, and assigned Mitigation control, as shown below. I have also created data Source and Business rule. But Business rule assignment is Blank for Controls. So, could you suggest, how can i see the Controls for the Business rule
    Regards
    Plaban

    You'll need to ensure the timeframes are aligned. What is the valid from date of your organisation and equally so important from your (sub)proces and your control. You are trying to do an assignment as per the first of january 2015. You'll not find entities that are created after Jan 1 2015.
    Furthermore you can only select controls that are either earmarked to be tested automated or semi-automated.
    Finally you're refering to mitigating controls. So that would imply you have integrated the AC mitigating controls with PC or vice versa. What is the creation date of the mitigating control and per which date has it been assigned to the local subprocess?
    In order to provide a precise answer we'd need more details on the exact process you've follow. There are simply more than on possible root causes depending on what you've done.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Jan

    I'm not sure what you did to create the rule you are running here. Did you try the Rules chapter of the 105 sample on the TP3 page? That one does work.
    Once you have it working using the sample, try your exercise again and let us know what you did to create your rule. There are many permutations here and we want to know what doesn't work.

  • SOA Suite Business Rules: Error caching the Decision Services metadata

    hi ofm users
    im currentntly trying
    SOA Suite 11.1.1.1.0
    on Oracle XE
    on Windows XP Pro
    what im trying is a simple use case of business rule component,
    my service is getWorkStatusByDay, that i implement using
    business rules component using decision table.
    my rule model is (conceptually):
    Day{
         String id;
         String code;//mon,tue,wed,...,sat,sun
    WorkStatus{
         String id;
         String code;//holiday, work
    WorkStatus getWorkStatusByDay(Day):
    is rule service that decides WorkStatus code by Day code,
    eg:
    if Day.code=mon,tue,wed,...,fri then we got WorkStatus.code=work
    if Day.code=sat,sun then we got WorkStatus.code=holiday
    i've successfully created the composite project, using
    rule component, mediator, and exposed it as a webservice
    compiled and deployed ok.
    but when i try to run the service using soapUI WS tester,
    i'm getting error in the console, see stacktrace below.
    im able to reproduce the error by deploying the project
    to another computer with a same spec as above.
    So is there any solution to this ? how to fix this issue,
    as this is a very basic sample scenario.
    Any information will be appreciated,
    as im looking forward to evaluating Oracle Business for a client project :)

  • Business Rules - faulted while invoking operation "callFunctionStateless"

    Hello, everyone,
    I have a composite application which receives a file through an FTP adapter and re-names it depending on the filename and its body contents using Business Rules. I had deployed it and everything was working fine for about a week and a half, until all of a sudden the composite started completing with errors in the Decision Service Component of the BPEL process. Below is a picture of the payload of the last working composite instance (sorry, for some reason I can't attach a picture to the post and I thought it'd be easier to look at the error like this instead of just plain text ):
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/hw60ms2s7n4bl1v/working.jpg
    And then boom, a minute later, it gives me an error and continues to since then:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhq0d2ajpxydf15/not_working.jpg
    The payload it receives in the second picture is almost the exact same thing (similar body, similar filename that only differs in the sequencing number) and yet for some reason it has stopped returning the output of the rules even though the input facts ARE in the business rules (it's not like I could have changed anything in the composite under a minute ).
    Strangely, in some files it gives me a selectionFailure for the dsOut payload of the rules engine in the Rules_Service_to_Facts although those types of files had been previously processed with NO problem:
    <details>
    <from-spec>
    <from  variable="dsOut"  part="payload">
    <query>ns2:resultList/ns6:response/ns6:pathDestino</query>
    </from>
    </from-spec>
    <variable>
    <message>dsOut</message>
    </variable>
    <fault>
    <bpelFault>
    <faultType>0</faultType>
    <selectionFailure/>
    </bpelFault>
    </fault>
    </details>
    ...and even if those facts weren't in the ruleset, it should give me a "Fact not found in the working ruleset" (or something like that) error, which I had previously encountered and which was my fault.
    Sometimes it gives me these three errors at once:
    Non Recoverable System Fault :

    I have tried everything, from starting the composite application from scratch, to undeploying and re-deploying the application, to re-creating only the ruleset, testing it out with one file at a time, and still nothing.
    What's also really strange is that I have the exact same composite in a development server and it works fine there, and I've even tried exporting that one and importing it into the one where it's not working, but still gives me errors.
    Does anyone know what it could be that I'm doing wrong or that I'm missing?? Much appreciated!!

  • Business Rules Icon in EAS Enterprise view

    Dear All,
    I am currently using Hyperion planning 11.1.2.2, in EAS the Business rules icon (To use graphical mode) is not displayed in Enterprise view.
    EPMA and calculation manager are not installed, I use instead classic application .
    When I checked the roles attributed to admin user (Provisioning Tree) in Shared services, I did not find Business rules Role in the "Available Roles" Panel (the left one : there is only essbase cluster,foundation and planning)
    Is it related to essbase installation? I did not install essbase integration service.
    PS: when I created my application I could not choose Business Rules in the Application creation panel, it was not available back then
    thank you for your help.
    Regards

    From the docs : "Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager has replaced Oracle Hyperion Business Rules as the mechanism for designing and managing business rules, therefore, Business Rules is no longer released with EPM System Release 11.1.2.2. If you are applying 11.1.2.2 as a maintenance release, or upgrading to Release 11.1.2.2, and have been using Business Rules in an earlier release, you must migrate to Calculation Manager rules in Release 11.1.2.2."
    Cheers

  • EAS does not show Business Rules node

    I'm in the process of validating an 11.1.2 Planning installation. This is the development environment, so one Essbase server, one everything else server.
    One of the issues I've run across is that my client install of EAS does not have a Business Rules node (I am staying away from Calculation Manager because of multiple horror stories from multiple sources I have heard about it).
    However, it does show up in the launched-from-the-web version.
    The web launched release numbers are:
    EAS 11.1.2.0.00.462
    APS 11.1.2.0.0.615
    HBR 11.1.2.0.0.722
    And now this gets really weird. The client launched release numbers are:
    EAS 11.1.1.2.0.00.462
    APS 11.1..2.0.0.615
    HBR *4.1.1*
    Somehow my clean install has magically gotten the last release of Planning 4's Business Rules?
    It sure sounds like something didn't get installed correctly. I was able to find this thread regarding the same problem:
    How to add HBR plugin in EAS console
    In that thread, RahulS wrote:
    To sort this out give a try to copy common/log4j folder from the sever to the client or install the Integration Services Client on the machine where the Administration Services Console is installed.Unfortunately, there are multiple log4j folders and none (that I can see) that have a parent of common. Can anyone give me some guidance as to if this is a good solution and if so, a better hint as to what log4j folder I should grab?
    Thanks,
    Cameron Lackpour
    P.S. I found the install log for EAS and found two errors at the end of the install process, but I believe these are related to writing an icon to the desktop. This doesn't surprise me as this Vista laptop is locked down tight.

    There you go I was on the right track, who needs oracle support :)^^^Isn't this board a sort of unofficial Oracle support? I have to admit that after my first fruitless search of the KB on support.oracle.com, I purposely came here first before I had the client log a SR.
    That's wrong, of course, or at least a little illogical, given that the customer pays for support and after all, answering these kinds of questions is sort of their primary job. Putting on my ODTUG hat, KScope 2011 is going to have a support symposium that is going to focus on process (like why is Cameron so brain-dead that he can't type 'EAS and node' into the KB search field which pops up the obvious answer?) so that people don't do a time waster like I just did. It's going to have some pretty big names and I hope you all can come.
    I'm going to forward this thread to my contact at Oracle support as evidence that even "intelligent" people could use some help with how to do searches, no matter how elementary that may be.

    Hi Joseph,
    First tell me how you want to maintain Inventory size wise?? If it is your A is Length, B is Width and C is your Height and you are not maintaining size wise stock then use Length,Width and Height which is in Item master here you can set fix values and activate same columns in document and you can change it in document. But in this case you cannot maintain size wise stock
    If you are maintaining stock size wise then you have to create new item code every time.
    You cannot use BP catalog number for this.
    Thanks

  • Business Rules Engines?

    Hi,
    I have experience with embedding "CLIPS" which is a C rules engine as a
    Forte Service Object which was easily wrappered using standard Forte
    wrapper strategy.
    Also, we have a sales rep in ATL who used to work @ ILOG and therefore
    competed with Nueron Data, and from various conversations with mutual Forte
    / Rules Engine customers I've learned it would be a complimentary integration.
    They all have some C-callable API and so a Forte Service Object would be a
    good client to the rules engine api due to our support for multi-threading
    when API is thread safe and additional option of replicating for load-bal
    when API isn't thread safe. The later concept is analogous to our use of
    DBSession object for interface with DBMS client api's.
    Be aware, the experiences I hear about with the mentioned rules engines is
    that there are not always business analysts truly capable of using the
    Rules development interfaces provided by the tools.
    So maybe the use of Forte Conductor's dynamic Process automation
    capabilities may also be a fit. If you want to discuss how, let me know.

    If so, comments? Type of application? War stories?

  • JHeadstart, Oracle Business Rules and BPEL Process Manager

    Dear JHeadstart Team,
    I have some questions regarding integration of JHeadstart and Oracle Business Rules and Oracle BPEL Process Manager. As a matter of fact I don't have any work expriences with these tools so my questions may not be good and precise.
    1- Using a business rule engine can dramatically increase speed of development and ease of maintenance.I had a very good exprience in using JHeadstart and Headstart in the past but I wanted to know if it is possible to use Oracle Business Rules in conjunction with the JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken? Is there any known issue about this integration? Does Oracle Business Rules have any interference with JHeadstart or it is only used in model layer during insert,update,delete?
    2- Is it possible to develope a system based on oracle work flow engine (Oracle BPEL Process Manager) using JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken and how the changes in the flow of work would by applyed in a system developed by JHeadstart. Is there any known issue about this integration?
    Any help,link to documents or general guidelines would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

    Couple of things I would like to add, are the following.
    In the context of an ADF application usage of Oracle Business Rules most likely is in the business logic layer, but mind that it does not need to be restricted to that.
    Oracle Business Rules takes so called 'facts' as input, evaluates some rules based on that and change those facts or return some result. That might be checking a business rule as defined in the JHeadstart Developers Guide. But it might also return some value that is used in a navigation rule.
    Think about a page flow where after page A normally page C is presentend, but in case of some situation (like a customer ordered something and you want to present some special offering based on that) you want page B presented in between (i.e. A -> B -> C). Oracle Rules could be used to determine this page flow. This would be an example of using it in the controller layer (probably in combination with using facts that come from the model layer).
    Another remark that I would like to make, is that in my opinion it does not make much sense to use Oracle Rules for business rules that logically more or less are part of your data model (like end date must be on or after begin date). You typically use Oracle Rules to implement business rules that are of a volatile nature, meaning that day-to-day business may require a change of the rules. One example is the navigation case that I mentioned before. Another (typical) example would be a rule that defines when a customer is a Gold customer.
