Hi
business systems are logical names to technical systems
what are business service and party explain with simple example
Business service are abstract of senders and receivers which does not point to any Technical system or SLD components. This is useful when you are trying to achieve Cross Company integration or B2B.
When you are not able to define system in landscape for a system refer to another location use business service for that.
Example
Company A Location A ERP1wants to integrate with Company B Location B ERP2
Now you are not having ERP2 in Company A landscape then you can rely on Business service for ERP2 and Business system for ERP1 in Company A landscape. (Service without party)
Company A can use Company B as a party as well. Then this will be considered as Third party communication and you can have components with Party.

Transport - Business services and Party components
Hi Folks ...
My SLD has Business systems with different names for each of my environment .
e.g. - ECC_DEV -> ECC_QAS ->ECC_PRD
and the transport targets takes care of the name changes when the objects are transported.
How can I use the same concept for Business services and Party services. these objects do not have an entry in the SLD hence i cannot use the transport target concept.
I Would like my services (both with and without party) to have different names in deifferent environments -\e.g. - BS_DEV -> BS_QAS -> BS_PRD.
Possible?
Regards,
Arvind RHi,
>>>Possible?
yes&no
- transport targets work only with business systems
- if you want to change changed names you can always
create a business system instead of a business service
but just make it third party business system
this way it will work later on

Scenario Configurator and Business Service without party
HI all
Quick question. I can't seem to assign a business service(without party) to an A2A connection in the scenario configurator on the ID. I have an email router service I created to push some emails to internal users, and it only allows me to choose Business systems. It does not seem to give the option of using the business services.
Is that correct, or am I missing something.
Thanks,
ChrisHi Richard,
If in IR u had seleced the check box "External party with B2B Communication" under Application Component, only then u may c a business service under the scenario onfigurator.
So in ur case u couldnt view the business service.

Business service and business system
Can someone please tell me what is the difference between business service and business system and in which cases are they used respectively?
Hi,
Business System
Business System have an entry in the SLD and Buiness Service do not.
Business Systems are used when you are sending data to and from an R3 system and can be of ABAP, JAVA and Third Party Types.
Business System is a logical representation of a Technical System.
Business Service :
Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.google.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like google we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation.

Business Services and Business System
What is deffrence between Business Services and Business System. Which type do I have to choose for File,JDBC,SOAP Receiver/Sender?
Hi Denis,
Please go through this link, it has all:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7d/6b82cd0d1aef48ab5953524c9cc5b2/content.htm
Choice depends on which form of integration your are doing. <b><i>Service</i></b> is a Abstract unit for adressing senders or receivers. It is used mainly for test purposes.
But in real time the data can come from any system in the landscape, therefore they all should be in your SLD.
Sceanrios involving these third party of other SAP systems need to use <b><i>Business System</i></b> in their integration scenarios.
I hope if it helps, you'll give me points )

Business Service Without Party in Integration Scenrio Configurator
Hi everybody
I am stucking in a small issue but do not found a related thread.
Can anybody explain me, why I cannot assign a "Business Service" of typ "Service without Party" to an Application Component? I am try to configure my integration Process and call in the directory Tools --> Transfer Integration Scenario from Integration Repository. In the following Configurator I can only assign Business Systems from SLD or Services with a Party depending on the settings of the Application Component in the Repository (Flag "External Party with B2B Communication"). If you configure the scenario manually it is possible to involve Business Services without party. But I would like to make use of the Wizard and my Customer has a lot of Systems maintained as Business services.
Any suggestions?
Regards OliverHi,
I have not done this type of task before.. but from the given links
see the below information was in the above first link
The following steps are then only required if the application component has at least one connection to a B2B component.
3. On the Business Services for B2B tab page, enter the business service that you want to use for B2B communication.
The integration process service that is already entered on the Integration Process Service for A2A tab page is then assigned to this business service.
B2B Component...
1. On the Business Services for B2B tab page, assign the business services.
Use the input help () to select the business services.
2. If you want to create a new business service, choose Create Business Service ().
To assign multiple services simultaneously, choose Input Help () in the toolbar of the table (only when assigning business services and business system services).

Difference between business service and business system in SLD
hi all,
i m very new to XI. can anybody tell me that what is the basic difference between Business Service and Business Systems?
Is it necessary to use them? and if yes then when to use what?
Thanx.
Regards,
Kunjal......Hi Kunjal,
In SAP XI every system in your landscape with which you are interfacing is defined as Service.
The service can be your Business service or Business system.
Generally SAP systems are referred to Business system and you define them in the SLD before you import them.
The Business service is a logical name referring to any system in your landscape.
To communicate with any third party application you need to create communication channels which are associated to your service.

Hi Frnds,
1) We Must define business service in party
2) We can communicate with one business system with Business service
3) when we are having true business systems can we go with service without party ( A2A)
4) What is meant by Party . Is it used within the Company or It is used to communicate between different companies.> We Must define business service in party
We create party when two diff co. will communicate.
>when we are having true business systems can we go with service without party ( A2A)
If you have Business systems then u have to go with B. Sys and need to configure in SLD
>What is meant by Party . Is it used within the Company or It is used to communicate between different companies.
It is used b/w diff companies. -

Diff between Business service and Business System?
HI Experts,
Pls let me know wht is the difference between business service and business system??
when we will have to go for business service and when for business system??
thnx in advance..
New XIHi,
Difference between Business Service and Business System are :
1) Business sytem require all details like login user id
password require to create but in case of business service
log in details does not require..
2) A Business System is purely for SAP-Systems and
Business Service for Non-SAP systems
3) Business service refers to any business applications where
as the business system is defined in SLD(System Landscape
Directory)
4) When we have full details of application system the we are
going to use the business system and it is created in the
SLD so we dont have authorization to change the business
system name.
When we have partial details or no details of Technical
system then we r going to use the business service. it is
created in the ID. we can see and change it.
5) A Business system is something that physically exists
For example, if u want to download a file from a system
ABC, by using file adapter and then want to update the
content of this file into r/3 database by using RFc,then
the system abc and the r/3 will be ur business systems
i.e. they physically exists. Business Systems are
configured in SLD.
Business service is mostly usedin B2B Scenario (cross-
component),where you don't know the Business System of your
partner. In other words business Service will be used only
for those partners which do not have a physical landscape
set up . Business servces do not have an entry in SLD.
6) A Business Service is an Abstract Unit(which is not in
System Landscape Directory) addressing Senders and
Receivers of Messages.
Physicals systems which use their communication channels
and routing rules to communicate with other systems are
called as Application Systems OR physical systems.
7) In simple when u going for A2A integration then we define
our Technical systems are Business system. If we r going
for B2B integration then we dont know the complete
information about the other end Business Landscape so, we
configure it as a Business Services. Business system are
created at SLD. Where as a Business Services are created at
Integration Directory.
8) Business systems:
These are logical senders or receivers that exchange
messages by using the Integration Server and that are
entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The business systems in the System Landscape Directory
relate to a system landscape. The business systems of
business partners are therefore not entered in the System
Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business
partners logically, use communication components in the
Integration Directory. A business system is a way of
specifying a communication component in the Integration
Directory more precisely (business system component).
Hope this will hwlp u..

Hi,
I have a small doubt reg. the Business Service and Business System. When do we need to go for creating a Business Service AND a Business System? I want to know the difference b/w them and the usage of a Business Service as compared to a Business System. Generally I create Business Systems in my configuration scinerioes. Could anybody pl. clarify on this?

Business Service and Business scenario
Hi,
Does Business Service and Business scenario are alike ?

Business System : is a logical entity assigned to a Technical System in a SLD
Business Service: is an Abstract entity without having assigned to a Technical System in a SLD

Business Service and logical system naming criteria across environments
Hi !
Imagine this scenario: File-XI-IDOC. There is a file server where files are uploaded by a legacy application. XI polls that directory, converts the file to IDOC and sends it to R/3.
R/3 is a production business system, for example "R3_PROD", the file server is a business SERVICE, because of its abstract nature.
Is it ok to give that business service a name such as "BS_FileServer" and then create the logical system "LS_FileServer" in R/3, to be able to receive IDOCs from the sender business service?
If we need to use 3 different file servers, one for development, one for test and another for production...is it ok to create the business service in each integration directory with SAME name, and the 3 logical systems with same name in each R/3 receiver...because creating business services as "BS_FileServer_DEV", "BS_FileServer_TEST" and "BS_FileServer_PROD" we imagine that could give us problems when transporting scenarios from dev to test, and from test to prod...because we will need to recreate the whole scenario using the new object denomination.. e.g. a scenario including BS_FileServer_DEV in development is called BS_FileServer_TEST in test..or worse..we could have the BS object transported and as a result we would have a BS_FileServer_DEV object in integration directory of our test environment...
Is this the right path?
Thanks,
Matias.Hey,
When a technical system is defined for a product / s/w comp version we also enter the parameter for logical system name. If a buisness system is defined for a technical system then it in turns refers to the technical system with buisness system assigned to it.
Itz lyk linkage of <b>PRODUCT -> S/W COM VERSION -> TECHNICAL SYSTEM (LOGICAL SYSTEM) -> BUSINESS SYSTEM</b>
As per file to idoc scenario where <b>BUSINESS SERVICE</b> is used it doesn't refer to technical landscape so there is no question of Business system. With relevance to transports.
With File -XI-Idoc scenario the concept of logical system only comes into picture if we have a integration process also involved in the scenario. Where in adapter specific identifiers we specify the logical system name of the sender file system.
Integration Repository.
1) The Software Component version need to be same in all the landscapes that is a prerequisite else transport will fail.
Integration Directory:
2) Assuming that transport is being done for all the objects under a service and the objects has been transported to the test landscape business service with same name will be create in test sys only address and access parameters that have to be entered again and the change list has to be activated.
I haven't tried exporting individual object from ID so no clue.
Please refer the following link<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/93/a3a74046033913e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">Transporting XI Objects</a> .
Hope itz helpfull.

OSB call multiple Business Services and combine the responses into one
Dear All,
I am new to OSB and I have a use case that I need to solve. I have 3 web services and I imported their WSDLs into OSB and created 3 Business Services that goes with each WSDL. The scenario is like this.
Business Service 1: takes an input value as [Region] and returns a list of employee names.
Business Service 2: takes the list of employee names and returns the list of employee names with their job profile
Business Service 3: takes the list of employee names with their job profile and returns their contact information.
I need to return the result of Business Service 3 to the consumer. The consumer basically need to call the Proxy service with [Region] as the input value and the result should be the output of above Business service 3.
As I mentioned, I have WSDL for all the 3 Business Services, but, I do not have the WSDL for the Proxy Service. The Business Service WSDLs are all different and they do not match.
My question is it possible to achieve the above result without having a concrete WSDL for Proxy Service? Also, how can I go about solving this use case. I have gone through some articles that talk about Split-Join, and am really lost.
I really appreciate your kind reply on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
SyamaYou have multiple options:
1. Create a WSDL which has input similar to input of WS1 (only Region as input) and an output similar to output of WS3.
Create Proxy Service based on this WSDL. Then call all the thee business services one after the other and doing transformations/assigns as needed after each call. Finally map the result of BS3 to the similar output of your new WSDL on which the Proxy service is based.
2. Create an Any XML type of web service. Create a schema which has two elements, one for input and one for output. Input containing only Region and output containing all the details. All consumers need to send request according to input defined in schema and expect output defined in schema. Its similar to creating the WSDL but can be used in case your consumer do not want to call a Web Service but want to call an XML API over HTTP. Rest will be same as option 1.
Split join is needed to make calls in parallel, it wont be usable in your use case unless you expect a list og regions in the same request for each of which you need to gather same information by calling three services. -
Can a Business service with party be conveted to a IDOC LSpartner profile?
Hey ,
I have a B2b scenario like this -> Http(external sender) -> XI - > Idoc in my SAP.
I have configured the external sender as service with party. I have configured that sender as a Logical system in my R3 system.
I am not able to make the the service with party map to the LS I have defined. I am able to the same with service without party (adapter specific attributes). This make me wonder if service with party can be mapped to a LS?
I have gone through most of the post in SDN but none answer this specific question.
regards,
Arvind Rthank you for the response -
I tried the approch u suggested and it works. But it messes up the Hop list for the IDOC Ack - ALEAUD sent back...
I dont think there is some way to change the Sender/receiver info for the std ALEAUD messages is there? I would like to avoid making the ALEAUD as independent messages and then route them...
