Hello,
We are using BOXI 3.1. We've got a problem with Deski when trying to access a universe.
The problem is : when we are logging with the name of the server in the item "system" : everything is alrigth BUT when we are logging with "BUSOBJ_j2ee.extranetu2019 " then we are getting this error message : UXO044 (impossible to import LOV) and the folder which usually contains the list of LOV is created but is empty.
(Details of the error message :
STATUT : RepoProxy Error:
MESSAGE : HttpUniverseFacade::importLov - HTTP invocation has failed : RepositoryBridge.importLov : (code = 1) invocation failed due to an HTTP error : HTTP 0 : the HTTP server is not started

We are getting the same error. What fix pack are you on? It doesn't make any sense, but some research is also pointing me to looking at the backend database on the universe?
We are currently on XI3.fp 2.6 with Netezza as a backend DB.

My Network Topology
I am setting up my intranet AND extranet in a back-to-back perimeter network topology using Claims and Kerberos Constrained Delegation. I will have a dedicated AD instance on the DMZ which my clients will be added to. My corporate users will access the site
via ADFS using their credentials on our internal network. There will be only a One Way Trust wherein the extranet AD will trust the corporate AD. We will be using Host named site collections and giving clients their own URL. They will basically be accessing
a single list and perhaps a page that gives them some reports about tasks across a few sub-sites and the a status of a single workflow on the root site of their site collection.
My SharePoint Topology
I would like to follow MS' Best Practice as stated above but I'm not clear on a few things.
1. Does it matter whether my extranet or intranet is on the Default Zone? I'm thinking that the intranet should be on the default since that is where Search crawls and that's the only place where search will be used in any way.
Is it possible to have two sets of permissions on a single web application, one for internal and one for external, without extending the default zone to create the extranet and thereby creating a new IIS website (webapp) in the process?

APEX Listener for Extranet

Hi,
We've been using Oracle HTTP Server (Apache) for my APEX connections. We're new to APEX Listener and have no knowledge about it.
1. First of all, is Oracle GlassFish Server free? Does it require license cost per CPU like Oracle Weblogic does?
2. We currently have an extranet box that runs Oracle HTTP (actually Oracle HTTP inside Oracle AS 9i). If we need to use APEX Listener, should we install the J2EE Container (Oracle GlassFish) with APEX Listener inside our "Intranet" and only the Oracle HTTP Server in our extranet server? I'm confused about the appropriate method for "extranet" environment.

1. First of all, is Oracle GlassFish Server free? Does it require license cost per CPU like Oracle Weblogic does?As Prabodh already mentioned, there exist two different editions of GlassFish by now: The officially supported Oracle GlassFish Server (with license costs) and GlassFish Server Open Source Edition (free). While you can run APEX Listener on both of these JEE Containers, you will not get any support through MOS when using the latter one.

I'm confused about the appropriate method for "extranet" environment.I'm not sure if this has become clear yet: You don't actually need OHS for APEX if you start using APEX Listener. You can deploy APEX Listener to a GlassFish on your extranet server. It'll connect to the database listener of your APEX instance using JDBC like OHS/mod_plsql did before.
Of course, you could think about adding a security layer to your database by hiding it's listening endpoint from your extranet. To do that, you could deploy APEX Listener in your internal network and let OHS (or a "plain" Apache HTTPD) on your extranet box act as a proxy. That way, you'll have only HTTP or AJP traffic through your firewall (or whatever is in between your internal network and your extranet), but you could close your database port. In that case, it also could be a good idea to let the proxy serve the static contents for APEX ("images") on your extranet box for less traffic on the link between internal network and extranet and especially for better response times towards extranet clients. Of course, if you have internal users for that instance as well, you'll want to deploy the images to the GlassFish as well...

How can I create an easily managed Customer Extranet?

I have a customer who wants to provide an extranet for his customers that is easily maintained by non-technical field operators.
He wants one screen that field operators can use to create and upload files. For example, the screen would look similar to this:
Create new customer: [________________________] or Select existing customer: [________________________][^]
Upload file: [___________________][^]
[SUBMIT]
When the submit button is clicked, then following needs to happen:
- new Secure Zone is created for that customer
- a new category is created with that customer's name
- the file is uploaded to the literature module, and assigned to that customer's category
- new page for that customer and is automatically assigned to the new Secure Zone; the page will have the literature module limited to that customer's category
Is this even possible?
Any other ideas how I might achieve the same effect?

Thank you for posting.
You can create a page and provide 2 links/buttons, one for the existing customer to login and another one for the new customer, which will take them to a registration form.
Case 1 (existing customer logged in) : You can create a page and add "update details" module to the page. Add it as a landing page to a secure zone. When existing customer will login, they will be taken to this page and will have the option to update their details.
PS : You need to create a form, add "upload file" field to it and add this form when adding the "update details module" to the page.
Case 2 (New customer) : Create a form, add "upload file" field to this form. Add it to a page and link this page with the "new customer" link/button. You can also attach a secure zone with this form. When customer will register, he will be subscribed to the attached secure zone.
Coming to your other questions :
- new Secure Zone is created for that customer : Unfortunately, this is not possible. The only way to ccreate a secure zone is from the admin panel.
- a new category is created with that customer's name : This is not possible either. You can either create categories from admin panel or via import file.
- the file is uploaded to the literature module, and assigned to that customer's category : The files can't be uploaded to the literature from the front end of the site. Literatures can be created from the backend only. The file uploaded via webform, is attached to the case and not to the user. However, you can use webapps, allow file upload and it will be associated with the user.
- new page for that customer and is automatically assigned to the new Secure Zone; the page will have the literature module limited to that customer's category : Webpages can be created from the backend. Submitting a form can't create a webpage. Also, you need to add the page to the secure zone. It can't be assigned to the secure zone automatically. You can display literature items in a category. However, you need to add the literature module from the backend.

What is the best solution to create SharePoint Extranet Application for existing windows web application ?

At present my SharePoint farm is having following domains:
1) Internal Domain - Domain1
2) External Trusted Domain - Domain2
And Following Intranet WebApplications having Windows Mode Authentication:
1) http://mywebapp1.Domain1.com - Single site collection
2) http://mywebapp2.Domain1.com - Multiple site collections
3) http://mywebapp3.Domain1.com - Multiple site collections
Both Domain1 and Domain2 users are able to access above web applications.
Now , we have requirement to add other trusted domains Domain3 , Domain4...etc. and create Extranet Application and I have following questions :
What kind of topology and Authentication is required ?
AD as User Identity storage location is better way for all other domains since there is trust ?
Do I need to just extend all the web applications in extra net zone and create site collection for different domains to isolate security and content as per the need ?
Is there any other best solution to implement extranet application under current environment ?
what kind of other factors are important to consider in order to create extranet application ?

I have following information till now:
External domain will be trusted with parent domain where SharePoint is installed.
Authentication of external domain will be Windows Authentication.
User Identity storage location will be Active Directory of external domain.
Site to be accessed by external domain will be http://mywebapp1.Domain1.com
Now question is :
Should I assign external AD group ( Domain2ADGroups ) to SP Web Application http://mywebapp1.Domain1.com
OR
Should I extend the application in extranet zone for external domain and then assign permission to extended
application ?
I guess , if authentication is same then no need to extend the application - correct ?

Multicast VPN Extranet Support doesn't work after reload

Hi!
We have Cat6500 with configured Multicast VPN Extranet Support feature. After reload of the 6500 customers in the receive MVPN cannot get mcast stream. We connect test device into source MVPN on that 6500 - everything is OK, mcast stream is available.
Workaround is "no mls ip multicast/mls ip multicast". After these commands mcast in the receive MVPN works fine.
IOS 12.2 SXJ2
Looks like a bug. We have several Cat6500 but only two of them have this issue.
Does anybody faced with such trouble?

Owner can't create document in Extranet Document linbrary

Hi everyone,
one of our owners can't create a document in her document library in an extranet site that was created for her service.
When she wants to create a new document (in Offic Word), she got the next error messages:
"The operating system doen't have the right configuration to execute this application"
and
"The document could not be created, the required application may not be installed properly, or the template for this document library cannot be opened."
On her pc is standard Office 2010 installed. It is compatible with Sharepoint 2010.
Also, other owners can perfectly create new documents.
Has anyone has this problem? How did you solved it?

Location of Service Accounts in SP 2013 Extranet

Greetz!
I'm planning a 2013 Enterprise farm in a back-to-back topology. All of SharePoint will be installed on the DMZ. The Extranet will have it's own AD for clients. Internally, we have an AD for corporate users and we'll use ADFS for SSO. There is a one
way trust between the two forests wherein the extranet trusts our internal AD.
Is it possible to create the service accounts for SharePoint on our internal AD? My hunch is that it is not and they need to be on the domain where SP is installed but thought I'd ask anyway.

Extranet Topology Help

I am setting up a 2013 client extranet and I have a few questions.
My server setup:
Internal network --> || firewall || --> (SharePoint, SQL) <-- external users
I have created a SharePoint web application and am using SQLMembershipProvider to login. I created a site collection for each client and assigned permissions accordingly. So I have http://clientA.company.com, chttp://clientB.company.com, etc.
This works, but it is very annoying to have to remember the URL for every single client. I want to set up something like http://clients.company.com where there is a landing page with links to every client site a person has access to. So our clients would
just see the one or two site they can get to and our sales staff would see every client URL.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this? I could just create one site collection to accomplish this, but I've read that having 1 site collection per client was better. On our corporate website we'd like to include a link to http://extranet.company.com, and
obviously cannot have links for every client extranet site.
Please help! I've been working with SharePoint since 2003, but this is my first extranet deployment.

you could do this by using Content Search WebPart. Just restrict your results to Show only Site Collections (contentclass:"STS_Site"). As the Results are security trimmed, the users would only see the URLs they are alowed to see.

Setup Sharepoint 2013 Extranet as separate farm

Hi All
We currently have a Sharepoint 2013 Intranet and would now like to setup a Sharepoint 2013 Extranet/Portal to allow external customers/clients a shared collaboration area to work with internal users. The proposed site would be fairly basic and most
likely comprise of a site page per customer with a few libraries and maybe some form of announcements. We don't envisage the demand being huge - maybe a few hundred users and 40/50 customer/client areas.
I just wanted to outline my plan / ideas in case I've missed any pitfalls or have missed anything obvious.
We plan to setup the extranet separately from our internal Sharepoint Intranet so the two sites will not need to communicate with each other and will be on two different domains.
The Extranet will be setup in our DMZ and be composed of 2 x SP Servers (App & Web); 2 x SQL; 2 x DC (all on VMWare). This follows the MS 'Back to Back' architecture but we do not plan to segment the DMZ area using routers.
We will also configure a one-way forest trust from the internal AD to the new external AD so that internal users can authenticate with their existing credentials.
The Topology diagram that I have seen states that you use a UAG between the DMZ and the Internet - is this necessary?
Any advice / guidance / tips appreciated

Another issue to consider is that you will need to open ports in order for the SharePoint servers in the DMZ to resolve users via the People Picker. The ports are outlined here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/wbaer/archive/2009/01/21/people-picker-port-protocol-requirements.aspx
You can use an IPSec tunnel between SharePoint in the DMZ and the internal network to limit the number of ports you need to open.
Another thing to consider is that while 2012 R2 does have WAP included, it requires ADFS and does not work with SharePoint Apps as it doesn't support wildcard domains.

Vrf-lite (extranet solution)

I have a requirement of an extranet solution (ASP model) where many customer will be connected to a central site. The spoke sites do not talk to each other, not even through the central site. One option is to use 1 VRF at the central site and import routes from all other spokes sites (different RD and RT at the spopke sites). This has been rules out. so now my other alternative is to use multiple vrf on a single access link (ethernet in this case) between the CE and PE. I was thinking of using vrf-lite at the central site, but few concepts I am not clear about.
1) can i get away without using vrf-lite on the central site. PE configures individual vrf for each 1.q interface, but CE just uses 1.q without any vrf. For start I am going to have only two/three sites, so I can either map the subinterface to a separate LAN port or i could do .1q on a single LAN int and map it to the WAN subinterface. Maybe this is not the best solution,but I do not want to go for an unnecessary solution.
2) what are the advantages and disadvantages of using vrf-lite vs no vrf (if it is possible) in this scenario.

I am back with some reading on vrf lite. I am pasting a sample configure that I picked up from another post. I noticed that there is no 'network' statement or 'redistribute static'. My questions:
1) If I am running BGP with PE, what is the normal pratice to advertise my routers per vrf?
2) In the LAN do I run separate OSPF or EIGRP instances per VRF (per subinterface)? what is the best way?
3) If I have static route to other LAN routers then I will be using 'redistribute static' right? Do I have to be specific about which static route I should redistribute to that vrf. If not how does the router know which static route to redistribute to which vrf.

As long as we all can share/learn/solve problems, it is perfectly fine. I don't think I qualify to give you any advise but here is what I have found in another post that might be of interest to you.
In your post you mentioned that you do not think you can run MP-BGP between the two switch through the FW. In another post I had got an indication that you can run LDP between two PE's using GRE tunnel. In your scenario you are going throuhg a FW and in that particular post the PEs are separated by a third service provider. So if you are open to explore this might be a solution for you.

BW reporting to extranet user (internet)

Part of the requirements for a new project is to expose some reports to the external customer via enterprise portal. Currently this reports reside on the SAP BW system, this reports are dynamic reports where the user can filters information, sort and other different options. Our concern is how to expose those BW reports to the Internet (extranet) through the SAP portal without compromising our SAP BW system. We are looking for a best practice document or something that shows which is the correct architecture and security technology on these cases.

i have a bsp publish in portal,
i can access to portal from internet with guess user, by my bsp is not displayed, how i can configure my bsp to be available from internet, when i access portal from intranet the bsp is displayed ok, but from a extranet not work
appreciated any sugestions
