HI Frnds,
Iam new to BW as well as new to this forum.
could any one give an idea on what is Bussiness content extration?In which scenario we go for this extraction.
any help is appreciated...

Hi,
BW Extraction
we have two types of extractions 1) Application specific 2)cross application
under applicatin specific -->we have customer genenrated and business content extractions
under customer generated means LIS, CO-PA, FI-SL(i.e no ready made data source in business content so we have to generate datasource)
Business content means there is ready made business content datasource so we can use it
LIS,LO --> when ever we go for extracting logistics informatin
CO-PA--> for financial info
under cross Applicaion
Generic extraction-->table, view, infoset query, function module
Generic extractors are of 3 types:
1. Based on table/view
2. Based on Infoset Query
3. Based on Function module
The first 2 are straight forward extraction.
The basic difference between LO and FI is:
LO extraction works based on Update Tables where as FI extraction works based on Timestamp table.
Business Content
You can check your standaed objects in RSA1 > BI content tab in left hand side.
Find your standard object and install it.

Hi,
It depends on the KPI you are extracting for,if Business Content Extractor provides you with those then there is no need for generic extractors.
In CO-PA the KPI for profitability differs from client to client.You have Business Content for CO-PA also...

i am not seeing sd,mm,crm n other infoproviders n datasources.

Bussiness content-vbeln-not active

Hi all,
here newly installed system, so i a hav activated bussiness content,
its comes following error
'infoobject0doc_NUMBER, to be assigened to field vbeln,is not active'.
pls can anybudy tell me

Hi venkat,
Go to BI content->all object according to type->infoobject-> search 0DOC_NUMBER
Then transfer it to colected object area and then install.
If the same infoobject is available in modeling->infoobject tree then u can directly activate it.

Bussiness Content Activation error in 0FIGL_O02 [General Ledger: Line Items

Hi Folks
I'm trying to activate the bussiness contents of a DSO named 0FIGL_O02 [General Ledger: Line Items] which belongs to the General Ledger Accounting module.
When i select the DSO "0FIGL_O02" from the select objects of the Bussiness contents, it pops me up with an error stated as below
" Version A of DataStore object 0PP_DS52 does not exist
Message no. RSDODSO102 "
It doesnt even transfer the DSO object to the INSTALL screen in business content even after getting the above error .
What i need to know is that
1. Why did this error occur ?
2. To solve this error , should i raise an OSS note ?
3. What is this object named as "0PP_DS52" in "0FIGL_O02" DSO ?
Need answer - URGENT !

FIGL takes data from all other modules and reports it to finance. The dependent object 0PP_DS52 needs to be activated it seems for the FIGL settings to get activated

How can I get to know the tables' names from which I want to extract data from, suppose I know the BI DataSource(for example, 2LIS_03_BF) or the extract structure(for example, MC03BF0), and if, furthermore, can I get to know the name of the corresponding extraction program???

I have downloaded Adobe Premier Elements 10 software which has a reduced set of "Content" available. I have downloaded the "Content files" to my desktop. Where to I extract these files in order to make them available within the program?

Using Simple Transformation for content extraction

Does someone know a solution for a simple and fast transformation to extract (text) content from an arbitary xml document. Only the text-values between two xml elements are needed to perform a search.
The corresponding behavior in XSL looks as follows (but lasts too long):

Business content extraction

hello gurus
i have a problem with business content extractor 0fi_gl_10. i have activated the extractor and trasfered. and then build a cube and transfered the data. now requirement is like that i have to append the structure and extract those feilds data to cube. i appended the structure in rsa6 and in extract structure i can see the data of those two feilds where as i couldn't see the feilds in my trasfer structure. may i know where i went wrong. ( i replicated the data source in bw source system still i can't see the feilds) may i know what is the problem how to approch .

Sorry, but have you transferred the field from the right hand side to left hand side in the datasource/transfer structure tab in the infosource & and also added it in the communication structure.
then you need to go ahead and maintain the transfer rules in the transfer rules tab.

Further look if the Business COntent are standard SAP business contents, then simply form an RFC connection between the BW(R/3) Server and CRM server.
Transport the objects to CRM Bus Content repository and then activate them for use as required for Object modelling.
You can form Telecom KPI based standard reports like Churn,Profitability etc from such objects..

Bussiness content activation Urgent

Hi guru,
how to activate standard cube in business content, i am going though activation of 0PP_C01,0PP_C03,0PP_C05 What are the option i am check.
a.     At the top of the right frame, choose Grouping and select In Data Flow Before OR ???????.
b.     At the top of the right frame, choose Collection mode and select collect automatically.
c.     In the left frame, select Object types.
d.     In the middle frame, expand InfoObject Catalog and double-click on Select Objects.

Hello Priya,
1.Once you select the cube(for eg: 0pp_c03) from the object types "infocube", transfer it. Now it will seen on the right frame. YOu can select the "only necessary" objects grouping. Install in background.
this will install all chars, key figures etc used in cube.
2.Now change the grouping to "dataflow before". again from the object types, select infocube(0pp_c03), tranfer to right pane, install in background.
this will install update rules, infosources etc.
3. Now change the grouping to "dataflow afterwards".again from the object types, select infocube(0pp_c03), tranfer to right pane, install in background.
this will intall the queries etc.
4. Repeat steps 1,2,3 for other cubes also.
