Button appears a second before menu
Has anyone experienced this problem......
I have three videos on a dvd, so three buttons on the menu page. Once first video plays and fades out, I have it set to go to menu page - 2nd button. That is all fine except that you see the button pop up over the black a second before we see menu page. Same thing happens when going to third button. Does anyone have a clue? The buttons are just a shape chosen in DVD Studio Pro. Thanks for any help on this matter.
By the way it only does this on dvd player with tv, not when played on computer.

All my music is from legal sources (albums owned by me, others from iTunes), but the Burn Disc command does not appear in the File menu, and nothing I do helps. I downloaded a new version of iTunes, but it still loks the same and may just be the same. But the problem started long before I did that.

please help here i just interrupted the process of erasing all content from my ipod it took almost 10 hours then i got worried from waiting i pressed both sleep button and menu button for 10 seconds while in process what should i do?
After charging the iPod for at least an hour try:
- Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Connect to computer and restore via iTunes
- Next see if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.
- Then try DFU mode and a restore.

Safari 7 - Delay in opening tabbed pages, often blank for 3 to 8 seconds before appearing.
Using a late 2013 13” MacBook Pro-r, 16 GB RAM, OS 10.9.2, Safari 7.0.3. It seems Safari 7 is slower in opening pages in general – i.e. the progress bar often advances halfway then sits there for several seconds before a page opens. However, an annoying particular issue I am having: after I Command+click to open a series of web links in separate tabs, when I go to a tab the page is often blank for 3 to 8 seconds before appearing. Sometimes I’ll see a spinning beachball while I’m waiting for the page to appear – but the page will usually eventually render. During this delay I cannot even close the window – this just produces the spinning beachball. This delay occurs regardless of when the tab was created – it can be several minutes after the link was originally clicked. It doesn’t happen for all page tabs opened, but does happen for many pages. This delay in seeing the page may be related to advertisements on the page, because sometimes the page will appear without ads and has a spinning beachball, then a few seconds later the ads fill in and the beachball stops. I don’t have any of these slowness issues with my old iMac running Safari 5.
I regularly reset Safari and empty the Library/Caches folder. I am neither running any Safari add-ons nor using any extensions. I do have some Safari Plug-ins (Adobe Flash, Flip4Mac, Java, Microsoft Office Live, Quicktime, Silverlight). No Shared Links and the only Internet account I have in Safari is my one ISP email account. I use a 3 MB/s DSL service via wired Ethernet connection.
Any help would be appreciated.1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) on the advice of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Yellow Hold Button appeared on the "untitled folder" row in the RECENT menu
In iPhoto 8, recently a yellow HOLD button has appeared in the RECENT menu on the Untitled Folder row. If you click on it, it highlights but I dont see any change in functionality. Ive searched iPhoto help, the web, and here for an explanation of this button but to no avail. Anyone have the answer? - Thanks
Yes I know the numbering system with iPhoto. The latest version of iPhoto 08 is 7.1.5 not 7.1.2

Buttons appear at specified time during menu
I was wondering if there is a way to have buttons from within DVD SP delay from being visible until my menu video reaches its loop point. I want the video to play for a few seconds before the viewer sees the buttons. Thanks for any input.

¿How do I create a new button for the same menu as I only can choose one Overlay file for the menu? Like when you have a menu and you want to linked it to a two different tracks. It seems simple the solution but I couldn find it

i am having an MacBook Pro 13inch , having an Startup Problem , the time i press the power button after few seconds the apple symbol appears with a loading sign below it and wont go further ahead of it . My data is all in the hard drive .. . I even tried the Internet recovery but no use !!!! but still no respons and the recovery and macintosh hd is now lock! but earlier only the recovery is lock and after both of them is lock. i can reinstall,... and i didnt try to back up any data bec i dont know how? so please help me to resolve my prroblem.?

Sorry, possibly you need a new hard drive or try reformating. First
you can try something like http://www.alsoft.com/diskwarrior/ it has been known to repair disk that DiskUtility could not. YMMV and they don't give it away.
If Disk Warrior can not repair then you need to Reformate the drive. Make sure you have a back-up in place no matter what.

If your iPhone display turned black and white after holding down the Home button for 2 seconds, first try pressing the Home button again to go to the main menu (Home screen.)

Hi there, ipod touch went white. I tried the menu and on/off button for 10 seconds. I also tried connecting to the computer via i tunes. My computer did not detect the ipod? Any other options?

My apple TV is not responding to the remote. I've tried pressing the menu and rewind buttons for six seconds and no response, I've also tried changing the battery and that hasn't done anything either. Not sure what else to do!
Have you tried disconnecting the power chord on the Apple TV for a few seconds, and then plugging it back in to restart the Apple TV? There may be a glitch with the ATV, and not the remote.

Why is it that whenever I download a song from itunes that a small grey button appears next to the song (apparently this is the download progress) but whenever I hit it to resume, the song disappears. If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
Create buttons that fade in on MENU
Like any comercial DVD, I'd like to be able to have my buttons fade in (not be seen before as a background movie first starts). Then at my desired time, i'd like to be able to have the button be selected and accessed. How do you specify this?
I thought a work around would be to have the PLAY button right on the MOTION menu i created...but I wouldn't have the interactivity when selecting the Buttons, like underlining..etc.

-MYou could certainly achieve this the way joey848 describes, but you should read up on setting the 'loop point' before you go any further.
You need to construct the footage for the introduction and fade in all of the elements that you want to appear, including button texts, then hold this for at least 30 seconds as a still. Use FCP, Motion, AE, whatever you like. Take a frame out of this into Photoshop (or similar) and use it as a guide, and create an overlay pict file (as for a standard menu) which has the highlight shapes on it only (not the frame from the sequence). Import that into DVDSP along with your animated sequence.
Use the sequence in a menu, and use the property inspector to set the loop point slider to a place just after the sequence becomes still. Add the overlay file, draw the button rectangles and set the targets and navigation as you would for a standard menu.
What will happen is that the entire animated sequence will play and your fade will take place, then the buttons will be active. At the end of the menu the loop will occur - there will be a slight pause as this happens - and then the still section will continue on screen. If you want to go back to the menu and start at the loop point then you'll need to use a short script to do so. The details for this are in the DVDSP user manual.
