Button hangup with modbus + and modbus ethernet protocol using lookout 6.0.2

I have lookout 6.0.2 HMI software connected to a network of modicon 984 compact PLC's using modbus + protocol, Control techniques Uni-Drives using modbus ethernet protocol, and Direct logic plc's using their ECOM protocol. I have all of the control objects built in the client process and all of the drivers are in the server process. I use a static symbolic link to connect all of the objects to the drivers in the server. My problem is every once in a while, one of the buttons will hang up and hold true until the button is pressed again. I also noticed this only happens with objects that have a modbus + or modbus ethernet protocol. I've never experienced this problem with objects connected to direct logic plc's. I saw a posting related to this a while back but saw no solution to the problem. Can anyone help?

I have never met this problem before. I tried for a while but failed to reproduce. I think it relates to how the button works. Lookout pushbutton sends out true value when you press it, not like the button of windows which takes effect when released. Could you try the CWButton, instead of pushbutton. Maybe it makes a difference.

I need help with Modbus Ethernet communication

I try to communicate with a Modbus RTU controller with a MOXA Ethernet to RS232 converter. I use DSC module to create a modbus Ethernet driver, and create a list of shared
variables that are bound to individual addresses in the modbus register.
I have tried for a long time to make this communication stable, but I lose communication after a couple of hours..
I read hex values from the controller registers, and they normally is from 100 to 140 depends.. But after a while some of my
registers drop to zero, and others up to 65408 for instance.. and some digital values hang..
When I restart my vi, it works again for some hours..
Maybe it is a communication problem true Ethernet, because I have tested shared variables in other ways, and it works fine..
I want to know if there is any specific rules how to put up a good way to communicate with my modbus driver true Ethernet.. I have enclosed one of the examples that I tried, and I have also tried to read values directly into while loops, but I lose communication after a while
Anybody… please I need help. I would be happy to see a good and stabile way to put up a communication example..
I also tried some of the modbus examples, but I didn't manage it to work.. I use one master controller and one slave, and I use ID 32 for
the master and ID 01 for the slave..

Yes, I have downloaded and tried the modbus lib before, and it works, but I have to rebuild it to make it work good for my system..
Maybe that is the way to go.. But I also thought that when I have DSC installed, it would be easier to use that one..
In the mean time I've did some test's and, I see that the problem maybe is in my modbus gateway..

Problem with Resuming and Installing Apps Purchased using Mac App Store

Recently I have been trying to download and install AeroFly FS which I purchased from Mac App Store (17GB) and with my internet connection it take some 4-5 days to download that.
I have 2 problems.
1) Resume download don't work if I happen to reboot my macbook pro for some reason after pausing the download before the reboot. When I reboot and try resuming the download... the resume button changes to install, and the download start afresh, I technically lost all my previous downloaded data.
2) The app was 17GB ( I guess thats the installer), and I had some 25GB left after the download completed. But it gave an error saying while installing that not much disk space. So I moved/deleted many item on my drive and got the disk space to some 37GB Free. But it was still giving the same error of not much disk space.
So, I thought the new avaialable diskspace was not accounted for. So, I rebooted the macbook. And to my agony, I found the roboot wiped out the 17GB installer I managed to download from Mac App Store.
So, far i have wasted almost more than a week trying to download and install this app. Now, I am re-downloading it for the third time.
Any Help will be highly appreciated.
Any Tips on how I can move the installer once it sdownloaded to my external HDD, and where can i find this installer which App store downloads?

Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 20% free disk space.

What is best way to set up Ipods for my children? One lives with ex and I plan to use facetime and texting to communicate. Should he have his own itunes account?

I started out by setting up under my itunes account. When I tried the facetiming my iphone with my sons new ipod it said that I was calling even though I set it up in his name. Also, I don't know how to try to face time him. How do I add him as a contact to facetime him. Also, his step sister will be setting hers up also and she will want to be able to text and face time him. How should we go about setting all this up? First, you should have to Apple IDs
Second, you must have a Wi-Fi connection.
Facetime Calls
To add them go to address book and put in the Apple ID username under email.
Go to facetime, click the contacts button on the bottom. Click the name they gave them. Click the email you used for their Apple ID. It should start a call with the device hooked up with that Apple ID.
Set-Up Facetime
Go to settings. Click facetime. Sign-in with the Apple ID you are using. When someone calls that address it should give you a notification.
Texting
If you are getting a new iPod you will be getting with iOS 5 wich includes iMessage to other iOS 5 devices. Just click iMessage at the home screen and type in the name of the person with the Apple ID you want to text OR type in the Apple ID you want to text. You should start a convorsation with the iDevice hooked up to that Apple ID.
Set-Up iMessage (a.k.a. Texting)
Go to settings. Click iMessage. Sign-in with the Apple ID you are using. When someone texts that address it will notify you.

Problems with Retrospect and too scared to use TM

I upgraded to Leopard on both my PB and my G5 a few weeks ago and need to get back in the swing of backing things up. On my G5 I have 2 internal drives - a Boot drive with the OS and applications and a User drive with User data. On 10.4.x I used Retrospect to backup my User drive 3 times a week doing just a Duplicate and I would clone my Boot drive with CCC usually before any update so I always had a bootable drive just in case (all to an external drive with 2 partitions). On my PB I would use CCC once a week to an external drive.
With Leopard, I was hoping to use TM so I wouldn't need to "worry" about backing things up. However, after reading all the horror stories in this forum, I decided to use Retrospect instead, at least on my G5. So, I got the updated version of Retrospect and set about using it in the same manner I had on 10.4.x. For what ever reason, though, Retrospect will NOT do a duplicate properly and ALWAYS wants to completely delete the backup drive contents before doing the duplication! So what should only take minutes to copy/delete changed items is taking a whole lot longer and shouldn't be happening in the first place. I have no idea why this is happening and nobody in the EMC forums seems to know either, but there are others reporting the same problem.
What the heck is Leopard doing differently than 10.4.x that would cause this? Could it be that I have the backup drive placed in the Privacy section of Spotlight so the contents don't show up in a search along with my internal? This is how I did things on 10.4.x, however.
As for my PB, I'm guessing that CCC is still going to be the best option since TM doesn't make a bootable clone and I have no idea if ALL my data would actually be there in case of disaster. Right?

Dump retrospect. I have fought with them on fixing backup errors to no avail. Deja Vu was also crap and I quit using it as well.
I was using carbon copy cloner. There is a new version for Leopard I just installed today but haven't tried yet because I'm waiting on the phone to get through to apple support. (2 months remaining... then what?) Isn't leopard suppose to install ilife 08? Still waiting on the phone for them to answer.
I tried using disk utility to restore to an external drive but it said the process would take 2 days for 80gb of data. So I tried carbon copy cloner (old version) and it crapped out because it was installed for panther os. So now the new version to try out.
What's the point with Time Machine? It won't back up individual files from file vault accounts which means having to backup the entire user directory anyways so why not just clone the drive? I would have thought that apple would have known to make is user friendly with file vault so it backs up changed files in an encrypted format. Everytime I have to turn on or off file vault is screws up zinio reader. Now I have to go back to turning file vault off so I can restore individual files?
Let's hope there's better updates to resolve these issues.

Problems with capturing and printing-to-tape using FCP4

Having trouble logging footage and printing to video using FCP4.
1) When we log-in footage (capture) it constantly stops and says, "dropped frames". This usually happens after 10-15 minutes of logging-in footage. Why is this happening??
2) When we Print-To-Tape, it will suddenly stop! Sometimes it will continue Printing-To-Tape, but without audio!
Is this a common problem? Should we re-install FCP4?
We've done all the software updates, but we're still experiencing these problems. We've also cleared up our computer by deleting old FCP4 projects.
We have a G4 with three internal Hard Drives with approx 180GB each. We're using the Sony DSR-11 as our Mini-DV deck.

We don't have Virex or Norton software in the machine. We have Disk Warrior which was helpful in the past with other problems. Should I run another check using Disk Warrior?
We only have one machine which has three internal drives. We've experienced the same problems using each of the drives.
We do have some video stored in the system drive, but normally we don't use that drive. The system drive currently has 70GB availble, as do each of the other internal drives.
We have updated our FCP to 4.5, but should we trying re-installing it?

How to comminucate with multiple PLCs with Modbus TCP/IP using dynamic multithreads?

I have an application in which I communicate with several PLCs using MODBUS TCP/IP toolkit. There is an array of IP addresses that the user can configure. Using for loops allows to work with this however if one PLC is out, the program waits for the timeout before polling the next PLC. I would like to use a multithreading type in order that all PLCs are polled at once and is not dependent of each other. In other words, I would like to dynamically simulate several while loops happening at the same time. Is this possible?

Take a look at my Nugget on dynamically creating occurences found here.
Just ignore the Occurence stuff and the rest of the code and verbage should help you. The example code creates a bunch of background processes and passes a unique parameter to each.

My macbook pro keyboard has stopped working overnight. The DEL button, along with O and P are acting strange. The DEL button is adjusting screen brightness and the O isnt working at all. Is this hardware related? or a software issue?

The left side of the keyboard seems to be working fine but the DEL button and other buttons are doing strange commands. The DEL button is adjusting the brightness and other F commands.
The O is not working at all. Some other letters are coming up with other characters.

Try a different keyboard with your computer if possible. If it woks well, it's a hardware problem.

You will have to restore the phone and set up as New. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212. The part you need is near the bottom, "If you have never synced your device with iTunes...". You will lose any content that is not backed up in iCloud.

HT4993 Lost receipt for Applecare Protection Plan for my iPhone 5 - purchased phone and plan at a Sprint store. How can I find my receipt so that I can register my plan? My lock button is broken now, and I need to use my plan.

I purchased my iPhone 5 and the Applecare Protection Plan a little over a year ago at my Sprint store. I was not informed that I needed to register my Applecare Plan, so I didn't. Now, my lock button on my iPhone is broken and I want to get it fixed or receive a new phone. PeachMac told me they would give me a new phone which would be covered under my Applecare Plan. I logged into Apple to make sure I still had time on my plan, but it doesn't even recognize that I purchased one and I no longer have the receipt for the plan, let alone the phone. How can I register my plan without the receipt? I'm feeling kinda of ripped off by Apple. Shouldn't they keep a record of who purchases these plans?

Did you register the AppleCare+ plan at the time of purchase? If you didn't, even if you had the receipt, it's too late. It must be purchased and activated within 30 days of the initial purchase of the phone (it's usually done at the time of purchase). If Sprint didn't activate it at the time of sale, you can blame them. Apple doesn't control them.
