Button images broken ? - in TAB(2) Red1
I switched from the "simple tabs with breadcrums" page template to the "TAB(2)Red1" template and tried to make use of the Einstein1 Button templates - but all Buttons do have incomplete images: The left and the right part of the image is OK - but the middle image under the name/link is missing. This applies to the other templates with 2 level tabs as well. Any help/idea ?
Bernhard
Bernhard,
If you include this in your page template (in addition to the existing CSS reference), the middle part of the button should appear:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="#IMAGE_PREFIX#css/einstein.css" type="text/css">
Turns out that when you edit the einstein button template, the comments state that it relies on the classes defined in the CSS file called einstein.css Of course, once you include this file, that may mean the appearance of other elements on you pages will change. You can try experimenting with the order in which you reference the style sheets in the page template.

Images for Spry Tabbed Widget Buttons
Hello,
I would like my tab buttons to be images like the ones here: http://labs.wip3.adobe.com/technologies/spry/home.html
It's the sample after this section:
Spry 1.6.1—Ensuring Adobe AIR compatibiity
Thanks,
TroyI have created some nav button images with a gradient applied in Photoshop and saved them as GIFs. Am having a bit of a challenge applying them to my Spry menu tabs as Background Images. But there is no reason why this shouldn't work, isn't that correct? (All software CS4).
I went out and bought a book offering CSS tips and tricks. Though the book isn't specific to Dreamweaver -- more of an HTML/CSS how-to-- it did offer a number of ways to apply images to nav bar, but all of them advised avoiding Javascript to accomplish this, which doesn't seem to be an option if I'm using Spry (which certainly seems to have its advantages, so I'd like to stick w/it if possible).
Any advice, insight or directions to a tutorial would be much appreciated. I did find this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693f21-7b0 3a.html
Will parse through it in the morning, but am not sure it's the right set of instructions. Thought I'd ask an expert before spending much time on it.
Thank you,
Paula -
IPad disabled and (a) forgotten passcode; and (b) home button is broken
How can I unlock my iPad if
(a) I've forgotten passcode; and
(b) home button is broken (so the normal plug into iTunes to restore doesn't work)
I don't mind if I wipe my iPad, just need to be able to get into it.

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Hello all,
In CP 1, I was able to 'easily' (compared to now) create
custom button images in fireworks then import and set their states
(up, down, over, . .). Now, it seems to be a much more tedious
process, and I still haven't got it to work. According to the
documentation - you now have to use .bmps, then save the img states
in a certain naming convention, then save them in a particular
directory! No more browse function for each image state?!?!.
Furthermore, you can only select 1 image - and this 1 image becomes
becomes the image for up, down, over, etc. even though I used the
documented naming convention 'style-preview.bmp',
'style-playbuttonup.bmp', 'style-playbuttondown.bmp'. I must be
missing something - it cannot be this tedious to use your own
custom created buttons. Anyone using their own buttons with up,
down, and over states?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Thanks very much for this information. I'm now able to create
navigation tabs out of custom buttons. This was much easier than
the design template for tabs on the Captivate Exchange (
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1049 430).
I opened one of Captivate's buttons (.bmp) from the Buttons folder
in the Gallery folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
2\Gallery\Buttons) into Adobe Photoshop, then I modified the
background and font color, saved it back into the button folder
with the naming conventions listed here. I then copied all the
buttons as a group against a background image on every slide. The
over, up, and down states are inherent in the buttons when you use
the naming conventions. I'm sure it will be easy to create the tab
shape to look like navigation tabs.
I found some great samples here:
http://www.alvit.de/css-showcase/css-galleries-tabs-navigation-showcase.php. -
9i Form buttons will not click - tab/enter work
I have created basic forms in 9.0.2 Form Builder.
The mouse can click the menu items above the form - i.e. close the form, execute query, etc. but none of the buttons on the form are clickable.
Settings relative:
Item type: PushButton
Mouse Navigatable: Yes
What am I doing wrong/missing?
I have tried this form, and creating new forms on 3 installations running 9i - none are clickable. I searched back two months worth of messages and the only close match was a 'left/right' click problem - 2 of the installations tried had default right mouse setups.
Is there a way to run Forms on 9i that are 'not' displayed as web pages - that are displayed like they were in 6.0?
Thanks,
Todd NelsonIs the Mouse Navigation Limit set at the Form Level (in the Form Property Sheet?)Yes - it says "Mouse Navigation Limit - Form"
Do the Forms 9i demos work ok? No -
Tried infobutton - form PJCLAUNCH90 - no mouse...
insertreplace - form replace90 - also no mouse...
Of note: the 'buttons' that would have images I imagine - that say '[Roll' in the upper right - don't? Seems like something within the program isn't looking for resources?
They seem to compile fine - 'Loading Java Applet', Oracle Forms...
but no mouse support. Have to click on the page then tab to select the 'guessed' upper right close button.
Could this be a path setup problem - conflict between 9iDS and 9iAS - c:\oracle and c:\orahome1 respectively. What Oracle configuration item relates to how forms find the button image resources?
Thanks,

I just bought my iPod Touch (4th Generation 8GB) from my friend and the home button doesn't work. Then, my parents took it away for about 6 months and I just got it back and I forgot my password. Then, I tried to get in too many times and now it says "iPod Disabled Connect to iTunes". Then, when I connect it to iTunes, it says for my to put in my password so it can connect. I've been trying to get back in but haven't found a way to restore it. HELP!!!!!
P.S. It's jailbroken, but the damage isn't due to Cydia. Also, I can't put it into DFU mode since the home button is broken.Actually, I can give it to someone who fixes jailbroken iPod touch home buttons, but I don't want to pay anything. Also, if you just have something to say to me that will kill me, don't say it at all dude.

How can you reset an ipod if the lock button is broken?
how can i reset my ipod if the lock button is broken?
To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices
If you mean place in recovery mode then use on of these

My lock screen is frozen! It will not let me slide to unlock or touch the screen at all. I can't power it down either because the lock button is broken. A friend of mine said I might need a new Digitizer? Is there anyway I can avoid that? Pleasae Help!
I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!

My iPod Touvh 4th Generation won't turn on. It will not charge even after I used a few chargers and will not connect to a computer. The Home button is broken and I don't know if the Lock/Sleep button is now broken or stuck as well. I believe there may be a problem with the battery or the backlight. I've had my screen replaced once by some stooges. What should I do?

My IPhone shut off by itself and I can't turn it back on. My lock screen button is broken and I tried plugging it into the wall but nothing happened. Can you guys please help me.
IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
I've tried buying new chargers and plugging them into different outlets around the house but the iPod will not respond to anything. The home button is broken so I can't reset the iPod by holding both the home and lock screen buttons down, and it won't even connect to iTunes when plugged into my computer. How can I fix this issue? The iPod never overheated or anything, and it still had charge left before it quit responding.
Unfortunately for you, the home button is necessary for reset and also to put the device into recovery mode or DFU mode. Since that is not working, and the device is not recognized in iTunes, check the charging port area. There could be dust, lint, etc, that is blocking the connection for charging, and connecting to iTunes. If nothing seems wrong there, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location. There is no other option.
