Button pops link in a new window
Hello everyone,
This is a rather simple question for all gurus out there, but
it seems a bit hard to find on documentation. How can you open a
link in a new window with a button in a flash form? I want a button
on my form to pop a new window with the specified link (on this
case, with certain parameters attached to it). How would you
approach this?
What would the syntax for that be, and what would I add for
it to pop on a new window? Pardon, but I'm new on this

RoboHelp 10 Skin Navigation Button - Link Open in New Window
I'm using RoboHelp 10 and am trying to get the button in my navigation skin to open a link in a new window. I researched this extensively and have not been able to get it to work. Can you please assist?
Is that link for some external website or some pdf file etc?
When you create a button on a skin and ask it open a file it should do that in the web browser.
If the link is for a website etc then it might give you the following link but you can still open the url in a new window by clicking on 'Open this content in a new window". -
every time i click on a link another random link pops up in a new window. Does this mean i have a virus on my mac?
No; it means that the computer has adware. Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. when i open a link in a new window all my windows on the task bar pop up, how do I stop that happening?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

When I click a link on a webpage or other software, I would like for it to open in a completely new window.
You can hold the Shift key and click the left mouse button a link to open that link in a new window.
The setting in Tools > Options > Tabs is only for links that specify a target window and you can divert such a link to a new tab instead. -
When I start mozilla or open any link in a new window I get the desired page to load but an additional new tab page opens up along with it. I've tried switching my homepage to different things (new tab, firefox home, show blank page) but I always get an additional new tab to open. How do I get only a single page to open?

I have set Firefox to never remember history.This is equivalent to private browsing but whenever I open a link in a new window I can see an entry in the History menu under "Recently Closed Windows". Firefox should not remember any type of history when I already said it do so.Hi,
the only way I know of the is to go to file and click for a new Window.
Sounds like tabs maybe your thing, from Safari's Helpviewer. for more info look there.......

To open a bookmark collection in the bookmarks bar or a folder of bookmarks in the Bookmarks Library in tabs, hold down the Control key, click the collection or folder, and choose Open in Tabs from the shortcut menu.
If you select the Auto-Click checkbox for a folder in the bookmarks bar, then you can open all the bookmarks in the folder in tabs by clicking the folder name in the bookmarks bar.
To open a webpage in a new tab, choose New Tab from the File menu and type the address for the page.
To close a tab, click the close button in the tab.
To quickly switch between tabs, press Command-Shift-[ and Command-Shift-].
To show a webpage that is in a tab and close all other tabs, hold down the Option key and click the close box in the tab you want to remain open.
When you click a link in a page you are viewing in a tab, the page opens in the current tab. Click the Back and Forward buttons in the address bar to scan pages you have opened in a tab.
If you choose a page from the History or Bookmarks menu, the page opens in the current tab.

Why is the option to open new links in a new window not available?
Hi, I'd like to select the option to open new links in a new window instead of new tab but the option is greyed out. Can anyone help me on this, please? I tried to untick "Block popup windows" to see if that would help but it didn't.
Do you mean the setting in Options > Tab or in the right-click context menu of a link on web pages?

I use Firefox 4.0.1 and have MSN set as my homepage. Recently, even with the option set to make windows open in tabs instead, if I do searches on the MSN page, the results pop up in a new window. I contacted MSN and they said it is something to do with Firefox. It didn't use to do this, even after initially upgraded to 4.0.1, but started about a week ago and even with me doing nothing to my computer. How do I get this to stop and go back to new tabs instead?
It does not do this using Google, AOL, Yahoo, or another other search, just MSN/Bing.That's strange. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is changing your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Also have you tried uninstalling & re-installing flash? If you need help un-installing Flash see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. You also could try safe mode. I recently upgraded firefox and now whenever I click a mailto link it opens gmail in the current tab rather than in a new window. How can I get it to open email links in a new window.
My MAILTO problem was finally fixed on the June 29, 2012 Firefox version 14 beta 10 release.

When I open a web page link in "a new window" the link opens, but the web page information does not appear in the location bar. It is blank. If I open the link in a new tab, there is ho problem.
Further, if a open a link from the tab without a location in a new tab on the same window and then go back to the original tab, the location bar fills with the web address.
Have done this starting in several locations, so it not location dependent.That behaviour is likely top be caused by an add-on, and in your case the likely culprit is IE Tab 2, the various versions of IE Tab have caused problems with Firefox 4 beta including issues with the location bar not being updated.
You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling it and then seeing if the location bar in a new window shows the address. If it is not that add-on causing the problem, see [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
For info, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you may want to try that one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html -
New tabs are not updating the names of the sites they have loaded. When I open a new tab and load a site, the tab simply stays named "New Tab". When I open a link in a new window, it shows "Connecting..." even while its fully loaded.
This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

I recently updated to version 5.0, however, when I open up a link in a new window, there is no address in the new window's address bar, just a blank box.

Today I think firefox automatically installed a new version and after that it said my adobe flash was old so I had to update that. Now I can't open links in a new window.
Firefox doesn't install new versions of plugins, but Flash may update itself automatically.<br />
You are still one version behind on Flash, current is Flash 10.1 r85<br />
If the Flash player didn't update properly then you need to download the full version and run the installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as ...)
