Button.setGraphic doesn't vertically align node properly

Hi all.
I've got a simple bit of code where I create a button and add a rectangle to it using the setGraphic method.
The rectangle isn't vertically aligned:
http://i.imgur.com/xV5oW.png
From the image you can see that at the top there is the border, a one pixel gap and then the top of the rectangle. At the bottom there is the border and then a three pixel gap.
Should the rectangle be moved down by a pixel?
I'm using the mac version.
Thanks, Nick.

It's the same on windows. I also stumbled over this problem some time ago and I think it is a bug.

  • DateField value doesn't vertically align

I am trying to use an mx DateField component, however, it appears that the selected date value isn't vertically aligned by default (within the label field of the DateField component) upon selection.
There isn't a properly for 'verticalAlign' for this component.... how can I properly align within the DateField's label?
Here is the code.... am I missing initial settings to get the alignment that I am looking for?
    <s:HGroup id="endGroup" width="100%">
        <mx:DateField id="endDate" width="100" change="validate(event)"/>

wow!.... you're right.  I just assumed it was the default behavior of the control.  I copied and pasted my code into a new project and everything looks great.  So something a layer up is affecting my layout (I am one of many flex applications running on a particular service)... I will start looking in that direction!

  • Vertical alignment of text in a cell doesn't work

In Numbers 3.2, the vertical text alignment seems to have no effect on the text. Whether I select the text itself, the cell, or the row, pressing one of the vertical alignment buttons for top, middle, or bottom does nothing.
I've searched through all the menus but I don't see anything to affect this. Alignment in the menu is of the left, right, justify variety, not top, middle, bottom.
My goal is to reduce the padding in a row so that I can squeeze the text right up to the cell borders, but Numbers doesn't seem to allow me to do this. Yet I have someone else's number sheet, and it's obviously possible since they have it in their sheet.
    Thanks for any help,

The culprit is the automatic text inset of 4 pts. Drastically un-intuitive.
    Aliza,
Only un-intuitive if you believe that most people would like their cell content lying right against the cell border.

It collapse, shows the menu buttons but doesn't close back once it reaches the anchorpoint.

Muse won't let you, at least not that I know of. You could find the class in the code that muse gives it position: fixed…I think. You could paste it into the head area of your page properties to override the class. I believe something like this would give you persistent nav bar, pinned at the very top, on mobile:
    #youmuseclass {position: fixed;}
I wouldn't use any parallax on mobile either, the performance is terrible.

  • Basic questions about word spacing and vertical alignment with CSS

I'm sill very new to Dreamweaver and web page designing. I've
read the entire manual SC3, one book, and starting another but I
    have almost 0 practice.
Q1. so far I haven't been able to produce the effect of the
Word Spacing property. I tried all kinds of tests and I don't know
in what scenario this effect will show. Can someone give me a
simple example that shows the effect of this CSS property.
Q2. Vertical Alignment: this works well with images inserted
into text but I also expected this to work with text against other
text. For example I typed TEST© and assigned a different SCC
style to the © so that I can make it smaller and put it up
with the Vertical Alignment property. Surprisingly this propery
didn't produce any effect. How is htis suppose to be done?

    > This is some text. This is some text.
You forgot to wrap your text in <p> tags so the style
    rule you created
    doesn't apply.

I bougnt my S5 a month ago and I am having two major issues.  The screen is very slow to respond.  When the screen is dark and I press the home button, it doesn't come on.  I have to press the button anywhere from 4-10 times and then it usually flashes on and back off.  It is very, very frustrating.  The other issue is that the battery drains very quickly.  I have called Verizon numerous times regarding these issues.  They tell me to do different things that never help.  We eventually did a factory reset and it still has the same issues.  Help!  It is a brand new phone and unfortunately I am in a new two year contract.  Ugh. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

I have done that several times.  In fact, every time I call Verizon with my phone problems, they have me do the same things repeatedly.  I keep telling them I have already done them but they insist they are SURE it will work this time.  It never does.  After doing the factory reset and it still not working correctly, they act like they are confused, almost like I am lying.  I did what you suggested above on the slim chance it would work this time but it did not.  I bought two S5's that day and the other one works perfectly fine.  I know I got a bad phone.  Verizon just does not listen.  It is a bad phone.  I just want a new phone that works properly.  Is that too much to ask?  I bought a new phone that has been bad from day one.  Why oh why do I have to spend hours of my time on the phone, in the store, on the computer, trying to rectify this?  It shouldn't be this difficult!  Help please!!!

  • Vertically align middle input text in a text box

I'm creating Flash-based software that has text boxes where users write in the answers to questions. I want the text that the user types to be vertically aligned to the middle of the text box, so that even if the response is two or three lines, it is still centered in the box.
It doesn't appear that I can accomplish this through the properties window in Flash. Am I missing something? Or is it possible to set the properties of the text box with actionscript, and would that allow me to vertically align the text?
    Thanks!

You're not the first to ask this, but if you got an answer of how to do it, you'd likely be the first.  I don't think it is possible since there doesn't appear to be any sort of top margin property available for TextFields.  You might be able to fake something like that though if you think about it... like using the changed event of a textfield to reposition it vertically in a pseudo border/bkgnd.
If you do come up with a solution, you should share it here... as I said, you're not the first to ask.

  • Vertical Alignment in table columns

    Using JHeadstart 10.1.3.4.
Different display types are differently positioned in table columns. Single text seems vertically centered; text fields with multiple lines are vertically aligned at the top of a table column; vertical radio buttons are vertically aligned at the bottom of a table column. The resulting display is quite messy.
I have not found any formating option in JHeadStart that allows for controlling vertical alignment. Am I a missing something?
If JHeadStart 10g does not support controlling vertical alignment directly, how should this be handled? Does JHeadStart 11g add such vertical alignment support?

    Hello,
If you need anything special considering vertical alignment in tables, you can simply perform that in the resulting JSPX page. In other words, just alter the JSPX file to whatever you need.
Save your customizations in JHeadstart using velocity templates, so your page is regenerateable while keeping your changes. See the JHeadstart Developers Guide on how to change such customizations in the templates.
Also in release 11 there is no vertical alignment (yet); I suppose because for most tables, each row just has a single line and vertical alignment is therefore not needed. However, I have put it on the wish-list, so we will check on it later. Thanks!

  • Vertical-align problem in css?

    Hi everyone
This is my id selector code within the css file of my air app which i'm using in a div:
        border-color:black;

        height:100%;
        width:15%;

  • BO XIR2 SP3 FP3.3 - vertical alignment of 1st column of 2nd page ignored

We have webi reports that have all cells set to vertical alignment bottom. If the report spans more than one page, the first column of the second page reverts to vertical alignment center for all cells in the column. All other columns remain with bottom vertical alignment. This problem does not occur in PDF view, only in HTML views. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Can I modify a file somewhere in the system to fix a missing vertical alignment tag?
    Joe Gottschall
    Pixstar, Inc.

    Yes, there is "sort-of":
    Object > Text Frame Options ( Ctrl + B )
Vertical Justification, set Align to "Justify".
It won't distribute evenly across all three columns though... in other words InDesign doesn't balance the text across the three columns with this feature.
Instead it pushes space between lines/paragraphs within each column to ensure the top and bottom line of text in each column are lined up with top and bottom of text frame.
If there is only a little bit of text in the last column, things might not look like you anticipated.

  • Horizontally or Vertically Aligned Duplicating

When i dulpicate an object across horizontally or vertically
(holding down Option, Shift), the duplicated object usually doesn't
stay aligned with it's original, see
    http://home.exetel.com.au/twistedpancreas/images/color_change.swf
this has happened also in previous versions of Flash (I'm on
Flash 8 currently and on a Mac, but it happens on PC's too)
but i've never had the opportunity to ask why this is.
    So i will now.
    Why is it so?

Yeah i did a little test, and it seems to happen more when
    you zoom into an area.
i also found if you try to select the centre of the object
and constrain it, it usually doesn't jump somewhere else. I think
converting it to a symbol also helps so that you know where the
    centre point is.
But yeah if you select an edge of an object and try to
constrain it seems to jump somewhere else, which can be a bit
frustrating. Sometimes it just means zooming out (like 800%) and
holding down Shift and using the arrow keys to constrain the
    movement.
    Hope that helps a little.

  • Vertical Alignment Issue

I have a problem. I've browsed through existing solutions and
haven't found anything that works for me.
I am working on a site that has lots of nested tables. The
navigation bar and some other text are in a column on the left (in

This happens only on page where the height of the content in

valign="top" is the correct HTML syntax. valign:top is some

  • Why does Vertical Align Center align objects along the horizontal?

And why does Horizontal Align Center align objects along the vertical?
    -g-
P.S. Please please please make the Eydropper tool available by function key so I can toggle to it while using the Text tool. Please!

    g,
but when I select two objects and click the vertical align button they snap to an invisible horizontal line
    This is (almost) identical to:
Because (the centres of) vertically aligned objects will be on the same horizontal level/line.
And that is just one way of expressing what vertical alignment means. Here are a few others:
Their centres have the same height,
Their centres have the same Y value on the Artboard/Workspace,
In all cases, you can draw a horizontal line through their centres.
    Mathematically, Y = C (Y is a constant value C) is the equation for a horizontal line.
