Button styles not updating actions

Hi there,
I've created a button style (in this case an exit button), which updates the appearance of all of the buttons defined by that style fine, however the action for that button does not.
Is there a way to make it do so, as I'd rather not having to update 70+ buttons every time I need to alter some minor? Or is that just the way it is in Captivate?

Hi there
Button Styles are separate from actions. The style controls the visual aspects of the Button. Each Button will have its own action. Many folks would likely be very frustrated if the action were forced to be the same for all Buttons when you changed a style.
Perhaps you should submit a Wish Form to Adobe to ask for a feature that allows you to also specify actions if you want. Link is in my sig.

New versions of customised buttons are not updating in the gallery

I have built a number of customised image buttons. I add the new versions into the buttons folder inside the gallery and delete the old versions but the new buttons do not appear and the old versions mysteriously are reinstated. If I upload an entirely new set with slightly different names it works but I do not want to have to upload entirely new button sets every time I make a small change to a single button state. If I keep doing this I am going to end up with huge numbers of versions redundant buttons which will become very confusing. Is there any way to refresh the gallery so that it accepts the changes without necessarily changing the name and uploading a complete button set? And why do the old buttons that have been deleted keep reappearing.
This is in Captivate version 7 on a stand alone computer.

Same issue here. I've tried replacing images in the gallery as well as deleting old versions and pasting in new versions. They still show up as the old versions when selecting from image buttons. I've even shut down Captivate and restarted, but not change. I know you can update images from the library, but I do not see any option like that from the Gallery Buttons folder.

Hello, I'am trying to dynamically update styles of various controls but once the app is visible no further style changes take effect. This has worked on older builds but not on build 42.
When I run the following I get a red TextArea rather than green.

Always good to have a server space somewhere so you can de-bug and test pages before they go live.
Is it possible you disabled CSS in your browser?
Did you save the page as Some_name.html BEFORE linking to the external CSS?
Do a Find (Ctrl+F) for file:// in the source code of your page. If you find any instances of file:// that usually points to a path on your local hard drive instead of the local site folder. Resolve this and you should see styles again.
If the answer is NO to all of the above, run your code through the on-line validation tools below my signature, and fix any reported errors.

Flash button will not update on DW 8 on Mac

I just moved to a mac. I have been on XP. Whenever my site
needed a new button, I would Duplicate an existing button, rename
it and then change its display and link.
Now, on the mac, I can duplicate and change the name.
However, when I change the display and link, it takes the OK or
Apply, but when I re-retrieve the changed button, there are no
changes. I must really be missing something obvious?

PPT action buttons are not present in pdf file upon conversion

Am using Office 2003 (SP3) and Acrobat 8 (version 8.1.6).
Have been using action buttons in the presentations for several years, works fine.
When converting existing files, action buttons in both PPT show and pdf file just works, no problems.
Newly generated presentations work fine as PPT show. But when converted to pdf file, the action buttons are simply missing.
Have verified that all action buttons are "at front", same result.
Have tried to avoid corporate templates by creating a blank presentation and building a small and simple navigating presentation. Again, works fine as PPT show. And again, upon conversion there are no action buttons present in the pdf file.Corporate changes thereby should be ruled out.
Have checked all settings (including "Adobe PDF, Change Conversion Settings") between a working and a non-working PPT file, can't identify any differences.
A colleague helped out (using Acrobat 6), same result. But upon activation of "Adobe PDF, Change Conversion Settings, Restore Defaults", the action buttons worked for him. Tried it with Adobe 8, no such luck.
Have trialed the "Prep 4 PDF" tool, then the PDF file is complete and the "go to slide" keys appear and work again.
All new updates available are installed, anyone experienced the same and found a fix for this trouble?

Have tried both ways, same result.
When working with new presentations, the pdf file is viewable, but the action buttons are not present.
When working with past presentations, the action buttons are present and do work as expected.

Middle-click or click the scroll-wheel on a hyperlink has always opened a '''new Tab'''. Any chance you had an add-on that changed that action, and now that add-on is disabled or incompatible?

The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information using Update Item action

Our SPF 2010 server is relatively small to many setups I am sure. The list with the issue only has 4456 items and there are a few associated lists, eg lookups, Tasks, etc see below for count.
Site Lists
Engagements = 4456 (Errors on this list, primary list for activity)
Tasks = 7711 (All workflow tasks from all site lists)
Clients = 4396 (Lookup from Engagements, Tslips, etc)
Workflow History = 584930 (I periodically run a cleanup on this and try to keep it under 400k)
Tslips = 3522 (Engagements list can create items here, but overall not much interaction between lists)
A few other lists that are used by workflows to lookup associations that are fairly static and under 50 items, eg "Parters Admin" used to lookup a partners executive admin to assign a task.

Action Buttons are not getting displayed in UWL

Hi Experts,
I am facing some issues in UWL action buttons and I need your help in resolving this.
When a request is generated in ECC systems, a notification is generated in ECC as well as portal.
In ECC, we can see two buttons in the notification, "Complete" and "Cancel work item in Inbox".
But in portal, these two buttons are not visible in the notifications.
Please let me know how to bring these action buttons in UWL portal.

I'm on Firefox 3.6.21, and I got this problem today after a Greasemonkey update (To version 0.9.10, apparently).
Disabling Greasemonkey solved the problem, and re-enabling it reproduced the problem (middle-clicking links to open in new tab did not work, merely highlighted the link).
I should also note that while Greasemonkey was enabled and the bug was affecting me, Ctrl+Click to open links in new tabs was also broken.

EDIT: It appears this is a known incompatibility/conflict bug between current versions of Greasemonkey and Tab Mix Plus. Read more here:

ITunes 10.6.1 Update button for iOS update does not work (a bug)

iTunes 10.6.1 Update button on iOS device Summary / Version page does not update devices. It only checks the iTunes version!
With iTunes 10.6.1, connect an iPad, iPhone, iPod running pre-6 iOS version.
On iPad Summary / Version page, next to [Update] button the message says:
"A newer version of the iPad software is available (version 6.0). To update your iPad with the latest software, click Update."
However, clicking the [Update] button will not start update iPad. Instead it gives you a dialog saying:
"This version of iTunes (10.6.1) is the current version".
Obviously it should start updating the i-device there but instead just goes and check the iTunes version ?!?
A Bug!
What's really annoying in this bug is that it's the only way to update pre iOS 5.x devices, which is now impossible!
Apple should get this fixed asap!
Anyone found any workarounds?

Just forgot to add, yes, I know there's iTunes 10.7 but it's only available on Snow Leopard and higher.
The machine in question is an old macbook, running Leopard (10.5.8), that it will propably never get upgraded.
Since most my older i-devices were initially synced with that particular machine, I'll be now stuck with iOS updates, without loosing content.

Home button is not working sinds ios 5.1.1 update

I bought my iPad 2 2 weeks ago and everything was working fine. I dit an update of the software and my home button is not working anymore. Could someone please help me out? Thanx in advance

Try to recalibrate your home button.
Step 1) – The very first thing you will need to do is launch a stock iOS app like the Calendar, Stocks, YouTube etc.
Step 2) – Once the stock iOS app of your choice has been launched you will need to hold the power button (located on the top of your iOS Device) until the Slide To Power Off toggle appears.
Step 3) – As soon as you see the Slide To Power Off toggle appear you will need to quickly hold the home button until this toggle disappears.
Step 4) – When it does disappear you will have successfully recalibrated your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad’s home button.

I attempted to update to the latest IOS version. Then it seemed to "Lock UP". Now all i get on display is a graphic of the power cord with an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon. Home button is not responding.

Save button is not working for ONE CLICK ACTION

We have embeded a custom table view in a standard component.While we are editing the first row of the table view by ONE CLICK ACTION & pressing the SAVE button of overview page,then the record is saved in the database. But if we edit any row other than the 1st one,the save button is not working.
We have used transaction context here for simple object.
lv_tx_ctxt = lr_ent_bt->get_transaction( ).
my_tx_context->add_tx_context( lv_tx_ctxt ).
Please suggest how we can focus on the current line which we are editing & can save the record in database?

Probabaly this is not my problem. I know that how bt one click we can get the desired row.
Let me briefly explain you my requirement and currently where I am stuck.
I have a assignment block ( custom) in the main overview page with a custom table view ( ie in the view we are displayng entries in the table view ) and the user can press edit button on any row and that will open the particular row in edit mode . User will change the value in any of the columns and press save button on the main component and the custom changes will be saved in the database.
Now the problem that we are facing is when we are chnaging the first row it si working but when we are doing chnages in the 2nd row or 3rd row changes are not saved ( not even in the table view that is getting displayed) .
*Let me briefly tell you the approach that we took . Since our table view uses a simple object ( which is not a related object with BTORDER so we need to explicitly save the simple object entities to transaction context and for doing that we have redefined the eh_onsave method in the overview page) .
*Now the save button is in overview page so to pass the entry from our custom table view to overview we are using custom controller . The custom controller 's collection wrapper only has the first entry of the table view custom_controller->collection_wrapper->get_next is failing which is the reason why the 2nd entry is not getting saved.
Can you tell me how i can get all the table entries in my custom controller's collection wrapper?

Button Setting Variable - Text Field Not Updating

Hi,
I am working with Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows.
I am unable to make the following work: When the user clicks a Button, a Text Field appears with the text associated with the Button clicked. I have tried accomplishing this with a variable declared in the Document JavaScripts, buttons setting the value of the variable, and a Text Field containing a Custom Calculation Script that returns the text associated with the value of the variable.
Everything works - except the Text Field doesn't return the text associated with the value of the variable. I have an app.alert (for now) in the button scripts so I can see if the variable has the correct value - and it does - but when the Text Field appears - the text never changes.
What I have observed: if I go back into the Custom Calculation Script of the Text Field and do nothing, go back out, go to Preview, and click on a Button, the text updates to the previous variable value (not the Button variable value I just clicked).
So - I think - the Custom Calculation Script isn't seeing the new variable "on the fly". Even though the app.alerts are. I don't think this is a Field Calculation Order problem. But maybe it is. And this is where my brain power ends. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. I had tried something like that earlier - without success. That is why I went to the calculation script. So - I went back to the "Acrobat Forms - JavaScript Object Specification" looking for an answer. It finally sunk in I was guilty of this:
