Button to Convert from Dynamic to Static form Attach to Email then Convert Back

I have this working, but only on reader 9. What I need is a different way to accomplish this. The scenario is I have a dynamic form that we fill out for a customer. We want to email it to a customer, but we don't want them to have access to our calculations.
So I want a button that turns the dynamic form into a static form than attach the static PDF to an email, than I want it to change back to dynamic on the original.
This works in acrobat reader 9, but not in reader 7.
my code for the submit button is this
for (var nPageCount = 0; nPageCount < xfa.host.numPages; nPageCount++) {
var oFields = xfa.layout.pageContent(nPageCount, "field");
var nNodesLength = oFields.length;
// Set the field property.
for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {
oFields.item(nNodeCount).access = "readonly";
that code works fine in acrobat reader 7 and later, the problem comes in when I switch it back to dynamic with this code in the postsubmit event
for (var nPageCount = 0; nPageCount < xfa.host.numPages; nPageCount++) {
var oFields = xfa.layout.pageContent(nPageCount, "field");
var nNodesLength = oFields.length;
// Set the field property.
for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {
oFields.item(nNodeCount).access = "open";
This nets me an error on opening the form in any reader previous to reader 9:
Invalid enumerated value:postSubmit
Anyone have any ideas?
If there is a way to do this in formcalc I would rather do it that way, because there are a few fields I'd like to hide before the customer gets it as well.
Thanks

Well, I don't know, but one might suspect that one of these times when the DNG converter gets upgraded (and it does from time to time) one of the things that might happen is that at some point Nikon might free up all its proprietary stuff in a NEF and that would be available to Adobe to include in an upgrade.
Hmmmm, in that case it might be worthwhile to reconvert NEFs--but that would mean redeveloping all those digital negatives.... Whoa....maybe I better stop this line of reasoning before I really upset you and others who have converted from NEFs. You are discovering some of the reasons why I don't do that just to save a little space--and be free of sidecars, of course (a noble motive, for sure).
I do convert for other shooters who are clients, but I always store the NEFs and DINGs and derivatives together in the same folder, which of course raises storage loads, but that is the way they want them.
Try the DNG UtoU forum. There are some very knowledgeable guys over there.

  • Converting Livecycle Dynamic XML pdf forms to Word?

    How do I convert a dynamic XML pdf form created from Livecycle designer ES to Microsoft word? I have Acrobat X and when I click on File -> Save As - > and choose 'Save as type' as "Microsoft Word Document (*.doc)", I am getting this message: "Save as failed to process this document. No file was created."
    Is this because its a dynamic XML form with many javascripts in the form design? if not, what could be the cause of this that is making the file not savable to word format? All of these forms are created from Livecycle designer and I have tried using Acrobat X to convert them to word but it doesnt work.

    Hi,
    don't expect an exact result.
    The conversion always is an interpretation of the given layout and may be not perfect in all details.
    There is not script you can add to a button to automate this workflow, especially not  for Reader, as it doesn't have any export functions.
    I tested Adobe ExportPDF services, which are available in Reader XI, but those only export the shell PDF of a XFA form, so it's not usable for those PDF's (image below).

  • Converted to Dynamic disc in error - how can I get it back to basic?

    I have created a system image onto a external HDD
    I have not yet created a system repair disc as I understand this can only be done once and I didn't want to do it at the wrong time
    Can I format the HDD back to basic then copy the disc image, or won't this work as the disc image is of a dynamic disc?
    If I create a system repair disc of the dynamic HDD will I be able to use it if I take the HDD back to basic?
    Thanks
    (kicking myself for clicking on the wrong box to convert to dynamic!!)

  • VM NIC keeps changing from Dynamic to Static IP (from a static IP pool)

    Back ground:
    Having migrated our VM's from 2008R2 and 2012SP1 servers into one 4 node 2012R2 Hyper V Cluster we have a problem with NIC's being changed to Static IP, this in turn gives a range of warning and errors when
    moving VM's between the nodes (example during a live migrate or when we put a node in maintenance mode).
    The cluster share a Logical Switch, this switch has 1 Uplink. The uplink is a Port Profile called "TrunkPort" and it contains lots of network sites. Each network site links to a Logical Network, each Logical Network is basically a VLAN on our Cisco
    router/switch.
    We don't have any IP Pools configured since we assign all VM's a static IP manually or they use DHCP provided by our AD servers.
    When we change a NIC to from Static IP to Dynamic (there might be power shell to do this), bit in the GUI its painfull as you have to shutdown the VM remove the adapter and create a new one. I does not last long as the system after a few minutes changes
    the NIC configuration back to Static IP again. Any idea why and how to stop it?

    Note: a server configured with Dynamic NIC will move between nodes without any errors (nice green tick box icon), our problem is that SCVMM or the servers deside to reconfigure the NIC's to Static IP when ever they see fit!!

    I feel like some issue with the Fabric configuration.
    If you are create a new VM through SCVMM, do you face this issue? (While creating the new VM, on the hardware configuration page, use dynamic IP and Dynamic MAC)
    The first event which you listed says about missing VM Network.
    No available connection to selected VM Network can be found.
    Please check the VM Network to where the VM is connected through SCVMM. And check if all the nodes have the same VM Network.
    If thats missing, fixing it might fix few other errors which you mentioned.

  • Passing value from dynamic page to form.....

    I have a portal page that has a dynamic page where I've created an html form. Also on this same page in different regions are three other forms which were created by the form wizard. From the dynamic page form I want to pass a session value to the other forms on the same page. Is this possible? I know it's possible from form to form using session apis. I've search the forum and have not found what I'm looking for. Can anyone be of any help on this topic?

    Melissa,
    It seems we have the same type issue.
    Session variable how to's are what I need also.
    There is a site with more information on it...a continuation of the Portal Handbook by Vandivier and Cox at home.covad.net/~idbexperts called an "Unpublished Case Study" - I don't know if it'll hit your needs on the head, but it may help to see it.
    I believe I am trying to hold session variables over til users complete a 4 part form across several pages (may be a space problem we have). Do you know how I start this?
    I don't know how to put p_session variables together, when or where the parameters are necessary and whether a procedure is necessary or not!!!
    If you would like to correspond offline, I am at [email protected] and would appreciate your insights.

  • Pass parameter from dynamic page to form

    I have a report that uses a link to pass a parameter (projno) to a dynamic page. This dynamic page calls a procedure which, using the projno, pulls information from four tables. Depending on who the user is and what phase the project is in, each heading can be a link to a form so that the proper user can update the project. For instance, the projetc manager can update the progress table during phases 2-9. So I want the Progress Heading to be a link to a form so that the project manager can update the progress for a specific project number. I tried to put the link in the procedure like this:
    if iPhase in (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) then
              htp.p('<TD><a           href="/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=6803259033&p_arg_names=projno&p_arg_values='||projno||'&p_arg_names=_projno_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_sessionid&p_arg_values=" target="_blank"><FONT FACE="VERDANA" SIZE="2">Progress</FONT></a></TD><TD width="10"></TD>');
         else
              htp.p('<TD><FONT FACE="VERDANA" SIZE="2">Progress</FONT></TD><TD width="10"></TD>');
         end if;
    But it brings up a blank form... no parameters are passed. Help!?

    when I use :projno I get a "bad bind variable" error. But really, I don't think that's the problem. Using the code in my last message, I can mouseover the link and see the correct information:
    http://spring.ous.edu:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=6803259033&p_arg_names=projno&p_arg_values=14&p_arg_names=_projno_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_sessionid&p_arg_values=
    When I actually click on the link however, this is the URL now displayed in the address field:
    http://spring.ous.edu:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.show?p_sessionid=2592
    It strips the url of the projno information.

  • VM NICs keep reverting from dynamic to static IP pool on reboot

    I have a 2012 R2 System Center deployment that has been working perfectly for six months. This past week, we added another Hyper-V host into the cluster, and the networking has become problematic for us.
    VMs that were configured to be "Dynamic" IP address assigned, have changed to "Static IP Pool". I can delete the NIC, create a new NIC and set it to "Dynamic" again. Then, I reconfigure the IP address that we need assigned in
    the LAN properties of the VM and it is good until the next reboot. When we look at VMM again, the new NIC that we created is now back to "Static IP Pool". All of our VMs appear to have had this happen, and we are afraid to reboot anything at this
    point.
    We even tried configuring the NICs manually from static to dynamic via powershell, which means we don't have to remove/add a NIC, but also works only until the next reboot.
    We are using the same virtual switch, same port profiles, same port classifications and same uplink profiles.
    Any ideas?

  • Can not edit Word docs after converting from a ExportPDF file. The PDF file is converted into a non-editable Word Doc image.

    Converting a PDF file (scanned copy Adobe Reader X) to a Word Doc using ExportPDF conversion. The Word Doc created is a image file which is not editable. I need an editable Word Doc file.

    Hi robertw,
    Can you please tell me more about how the PDF was created? (If you don't know, choose File > Properties, and look for the PDF Producer on the Description tab.)
    If the PDF was created by a third-party PDF creator, it may be that it's not well-written, and that can affect the quality of the conversion. See Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.
    That said, you may be able to select the text by triple-clicking in the Word document.
    Please let us know how it goes.

  • LiveCycle: making whole PDF forms attach to email

    If I create a form in LiveCycle is there a way to make it attach to an e-mail the same way it does when you add the Submit button in Adobe Acrobat Pro?
    When I put a Submit button on the document in LiveCycle it will only send the data as a .xml file, which is not what I want. I want the user to be able to hit submit and have the whole form with the data in it emailed to me: like it does in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Is this possible or do I have to design the whole form in Adobe Acrobat Pro to make this happen?

    This was discussed recently here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5133066#5133066
    In short, you should use a regular button and configure it to submit the entire PDF.

  • Any tricks to 'fussy' editing in NavEd (converting dynamic to static)?

    I have been spending a lot of time in Navigation Editor recently and have had a number of problems converting request strings back from dynamic to static.
    I have a number of examples where the tool has identified a large section of a request as dynamic, yet I know it should remain static. Nornally it's a simple job to go through the script, highlight the section in question and select 'make static'. However, there are certain sections where a large section containing '=' is involved. Even if you highlight only the part of the string PRECEEDING the '=', when you select 'make static' the WHOLE string is converted.
    (edited) e.g.
    PostData:
    status=<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <portalApacsAPIRes xmlns="http://www.url-here-but-edited-out/portal-
    api" scemaVersion="All">
    <header>
    <sessionID>kckngenjniiub555h0edjw55
    </sessionID>
    ... further XML but you get the idea ...
    I could edit the first line ("status=") but only because the tool HASN'T flagged that particular '=' as dynamic. However attempting to select the remainder of the string up to the start of the sessionID (the intention being to leave the value as dynamic) would end up with converting the whole request to static.
    Has anyone else encountered problems like this?
    Any suggestions how to approach this?

    Thanks for the feedback.
    It has been suggested that I try to do similar using OpenScript, but as I'm really waiting for webservices to be supported before 'getting my hands dirty' with OpenScript I may have to wait for the new release.
    Is there any ETA for OATS9.0 (or is it just "sometime in June")?

  • Converting from Forms to APEX

    does anyone have a formula or methodology for estimating the time it takes to convert (or recreate) a Form to APEX?

    Not really possible, since you are going to have to do some re-designing when you move from Forms to APEX. Just remember, the conversion tool will do some of the work, but you are REALLY better off re-developing your Forms app in APEX then converting..

  • Barcoded Form - Save as Dynamic or Static?

    Hello,
    this might be a very dump question, but I was asking myself how I have to save my Designer 7 form with a barcode in it, so that it is working properly: as Dynamic or Static form?
    I was playing a bit around with both versions, because I want to dynamically highlight some fields, and therefore need a dynamic form.
    My barcode encoding is working in both versions, however if I have a dynamic form, my barcode has a kind of subtitle: the small numbers below the barcode are duplicated (the second line with a bigger font). And the barcode itself is increased in size when the data doesn't fit in the actual size. Can I switch off this behavior (the subtitle and the increase) and still save it dynamically?
    Regards, Karin

    Hello Lee,
    thanks for your quick answer. As I said in the previous posting, I would like to save it as dynamic, otherwise the highlighting of mandatory fields is not working properly. So I had a look at the XML code of my barcode, however was not able to identify anything that is not also in the static version.
    Here is the extract of the XML data of one of the barcodes:
          a6970cef-3781-45eb-80ae-551d99d734ef
    Can you identify the tags I have to remove? I couldn't find anything with 'inside'. The other barcode contains almost the same, except that the caption tag comes three times and have different values.
    Thanks for your help in advance!
    Regards, Karin
