Button to print landscape

I have a report that when run fits on the screen, however, when I print I loose columns on the right side. If I print landscape it fits. I prefer not to change the print settings, my desire is to do this programmatically with a button that when clicked would change the orientation to landscape, and print the report. Is this even possible? Has anyone tried this?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
I have tried to do this without success.
for WinNT the settings are in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PageSetup\orientation
If you do find a way to alter the setting from the browser, please let me know.

  • Please Help: Left Columns Cut off Printing Landscape Dynamic Table

I have designed a form with a table designed to print landscape on a letter size paper. The form has an Add row button creates rows that can span multiple pages. The form prints correctly in the PDF Preview tab but when tested with adobe reade 11 the table cuts off on the left for all pages except the first when mutilpe pages are printed. If one page is printed then it prints ok. This only happens in adobe reader 11 when the "auto portrait/landscape" is selected in the print dialog. If "Landscape" is selected instead of  "auto portrait/landscape" the pages print ok. I am using Designer ES2.  I can't depend on the users of the form to make the orientation landscape before printing. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

Try unchecking everything, You don't really need to specify something... it should work by itself... if it ain't working I could take a look at it if you wouldn't mind sharing the pdf.

  • Reader 8.1.2 still cannot print landscape pages

    Hi,
AR 8.1.2 still doesn't print landscape pages correctly - the pages are printed as portrait exactly like in topic for AR8.1.1:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c0604d8/3
I'm using Suse Linux Destkop, with cups version cups-1.1.23-40.35.
The printouts are correct using another pdf software (or printed via command line).

    Hello Stefan,
I believe you are trying to print a PDF with pages in landscape orientation by choosing the "Landscape" radio in the print dialog. Is that correct?
Could you check if the printer you are printing to supports Custom media size? (You could do that by looking at the printer options at http://localhost:631). You would not face the problem you mention if you try configuring your printer with a different driver (say which supports custom media size, unless the feature is not supported by your printer itself).
As a workaround try choosing the "Portrait" radio button in the print dialog and selecting the "Auto Rotate and Center" checkbox. This should give you the expected results.
    Hope this helps.
    Sincerely,
    Neha

  • How do you print landscape in iwork?

How do you print landscape in iwork?

    Hi BellaRae,
Page orientation can be set for each Sheet in a numbers Document. The control is at the bottom left of the document window, beside the number showing the scale of the current view.
Two windows are open in the image below. The front one shows the 'regular view' with a page icon.
In the 'back' window, the icon has been clicked, putting the document into Print view, and showing the orientation buttons and the scale slider. Note that the Landscape orientation button is highlighted. (Landscape is the default orientation for a Numbers document). Clicking the (black) Portrait icon switched the page orientation to Portrait (and highlights the Portrait icon).
Orientation and scale setting apply only in Print View (and when printing). In regular view, the sheet is essentially an infinite page, and 'page breaks' do not apply.
In Pages, Page orientation is a document property, set in File > Page Setup, or in the Document Inspector.

  • Print landscape report in character mode

    Hi!
It seems that I should change xxx.prt file in DESFORMAT parameter to match different kinds of printers in order to print landscape report in character mode.
Our customers are international wide. How can I do to make this setting meet every customer for printing reports in landscape style?
We will run the reports on Unix on the middle tier and customers read them in browser.
    Thanks for help.

    Hi,
This sounds like a similar problem that I had (and still having). It was (is) a Bug. Go to metalink.oracle.com and reference this bug#1413754. See if this is your problem as well. My only work around was change the format of the file instead of using character mode I am now using PDF. Which is working fine for me.

  • Can we have a "print button" to print massive report document ?

    Hi there,
Can we have a "print button" to print a massive report document (e.g 3000 page , each for a specific customer description), instead of exporting to pdf or excell before printing.. ?
    Thanks
    -toni

You cannot have a print Button in the report, But have you tried Scheduling the report, and setting the output to printer? That might meet your requirement. You can also use the schedule section to run it immediately (once)

  • HP LaserJet 1018 not printing landscape on index cards

I regularly print on 3 x 5 index cards with this printer.  In fact, this is the reason I purchased the printer.  Just this morning, I am suddenly unable to print landscape on it.  Any file set up in landscape will run through the printer and come out blank.  However, if I change the set up to print portrait, my prints are perfect.  Hm...does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi. Did you ever figure out why you can't print 3x5 index cards in landscape mode on your HP printer? I'm having exactly the same problem. I can print the document on ordinary 8.5x11, but not on index cards. It was working a couple of weeks earlier. I've tried all the obvious solutions but so far nothing works. Thanks.

  • A shortcut for a button in Print window

I want to make a shortcut on Printer button in Print window, which is not definable through Print Presets.
This button is needed to setup a printer (paper, tray and so on).
Some guy gave me a piece of AS code, but it doesn’t work unfortunately,
the buttons are only lighted, but not pressed.
    tell application "System Events"
       tell process "InDesign"
click button "Printer..." of window "Print"
       end tell
    end tell
I tried "click button 3", not workin too.
    Can anyone tell why?
    Thank you

So, why isn't this listed in the keyboard shortcuts help list fo iCal?

  • Photosmart C4580 won't print - push a button on printer it shuts down

The Photosmart C4580 has been reluctant lately to print anything at all. The documents sit in the spooler but won't print.
I've searched for this problem here and haven't seen same printer, same issue and solution, so here goes...
    Dell Dimension 3000
Win XP Pro Service Pack 3
I've had this printer since February 2009.  I've set it up on the USB port.
Three weeks ago I upgraded the memory from twin 256 module setup to twin 512 using Dell products. Obviously, I took the PC apart, cleaned the dust bunnies, installed the memory and everything worked great after rebooting - including the printer.
About two weeks ago a carriage jam error popped up. It wasn't jammed but I pulled the ink, reset them and restarted the printer. It worked fine - no noises, no jams, nothing.
Yesterday the printer quit printing at all. It said documents are printing but they just sat in the queue. I've done:
    1. HP Solution Center guided solution
(when it asks to hit the Cancel Button and Start Copy Color buttons to print Self Test, the printer shuts down every time)
    2. Windows troubleshooter
    3. The HP Support solution online
    4. Reinstalled printer using original CD
    5. Reinstalled using the latest install software from HP online.
*After the latest reinstall, where the program asks you to print a test photo page, it did not print. HOWEVER, after I shut down and restarted the printer, that photo printed! But I can't print anything else since.
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

    wait a minute
    restart printer

  • Printing landscape pdf to Linux CUPS shared printer

I'm having a problem printing landscape pdf documents from Preview to printers on my Linux CUPS server. Documents print portrait style, with the right side of the document cut off. This occurs in both 10.4.11 and 10.5.2.
Using Adobe Reader or printing the pdf from the command line using lpr work correctly to the shared printer.
Printing directly to the printer (not through the server) is the only way Preview prints it right.
    My CUPS server is:
    Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy
    CUPS 1.3.7

I'm having the same problem. I have a Lexmark x9350 that is shared through Airport Extreme.

  • Firefox default to printing landscape and can't change it. I am using OSX 10.6.4

At some point in time, FF has decided to print everything in landscape. Chrome and Safari do not have this problem. Under page setup, the orientation is portrait but it will still print landscape.

Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

Open a Crystal Report that prints landscape.

Any ideas on how to get the report to print landscape?  It prints that way from Crystal Reports XI.

    Hello Glenda,
as you refer to the legacy technology I recommend to post this query to the [Legacy Application Development SDKs|SAP Crystal Reports - Legacy SDKs; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to legacy SDKs, including the Report Designer Component (RDC), OCX, VCL, and Crystal Reports Print Engine (CRPE).
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Legacy Application Development SDKs queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Printing Landscape

    Using Reader 9 for Windows.
    TWO QUESTIONS
    1. Where do we find info re getting Reader 9 to print content full-size in landscape format on 8.5 x 11 paper?
    2. Currently, the PDF file sent to me is in landscape. I can have the printer print landscape, but the content remains in portrait, meaning that it stay in its small shrunk mode even though it is orientd correctly to the landscape layout.
I tried all Page-Scaling options but it fails to print correctly. The PDF file sent to me will not print full-size in the landscape layout format.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

I had the same problem. I wasted almost a pack of photo paper, a ton of ink, and many hours trying to print landscape photos. HP could not help me either. What I finally found out was that you do NOT change the orientation from portrait to landscape, somehow the printer will automatically print the photo in landscape orientation.

  • Trouble printing landscape PDF

I am having difficulty printing a pdf document that is in a landscape orientation. The first page prints correctly, but subsequent pages either print lower and to the left on the page or they print in a reduced size and to the lower left. I am able to duplicate this issue in both Adobe Acrobat 11.0.05 as well as Adobe Reader. I do not have the issue if I print using Preview on Mac OS X. I am using Acrobat and Reader on Windows 7, 32 bit.

Some of docs are not created by me but are available as studies on
websites. On our docs, we import into InDesign. No, it does not print
correctly if I select landscape rather than auto. And sometimes I select a
page range to print and the command is ignored and prints the entire doc.
