Button Transition only plays audio

Hi,
In Encore, I have configured the MAIN MENU to continous loop Video and Audio (via the Motion tab) I then configured each button to play a "transition" movie (1 second clip) so that it will play the transition first, then the actual movie set in the "link" section. Everything is set properly (at least to my knowledge), however, when I preview and click on the button, only the transition's audio is playing, the video of the MAIN MENU remains to be playing. When the transition (that 1 second clip) is done playing its audio, then it altogether went to the actual movie.
Any ideas what I did wrong? Any help appreciated.

I first learned about the pickwhip from some online video training for AE, I really thought the trainer said "pigwhip". And since "whip" sounded so negative (like why would I ever want to use a pig whip and whip my precious MOV, Cameras, null layers, etc.), I then just call the "pickwhip" a "pigtail" since it does look like a pigtail...and then I just gotten used to it. Glad you understood what I meant!
How I add the transition? I pickwhip the transition to an MOV (which I import as asset)

OK, back to business. Here is what I've tried:
1) I created a new, simple blank menu and simple buttons with NO motion menu: Transition worked perfectly
2) Using the SAME blank menu (from 1), I added a MUXed MOV, it didn't work.
3) I deMUXed the MOV to a video-only MOV and separate audio (in AIF), problem persists!
In Summary: Appears that transition didn't work (for me) ONLY when I do a motion menu
btw, thx for the help with the troubleshooting.....Any additional insights appreciated.

It all depends on the codec the file uses, Karli.
What model of camcorder is this video coming from?
Are you working on a Mac or a PC? Have you got the latest version of Quicktime, per the program requirements? When you started your project, did you select the settings for a DSLR at 720p? This is a vital step since it will activate the components your computer will need to work with many of these types of files.

On my PC (Windows7 and ITunes10.6), my music videos only play audio. It did play both video and audio, but currenly only audio is working. Any advise is appreciated.

I am having the same problem. Last night during a long call using headphones, suddenly I could not be heard, but I could hear the person I was talking to. I did not try the speaker. This morning with out the headphone twice I placed a call and heard no ringing, but the call did connect as I was told they got the call, but no one was there. I just reset the phone and will see what happens. I was thinking of going to the Apple store were I got the phone, but if they are going to ship it off rather than exchnage it, that is a no go for me at this point.

AppleTV will only play audio, not video

My AppleTV will only play audio, not video via Airplay. I've verified correct settings, reset iPad, AppleTV and router with no success. Please help!

What is it that you were playing, some providers block their content from AirPlay.

When you take it off 'Low Latency' mode the audio is fine and comes out Right and Left speaker.

I think Pancenter is trying to get you to read and understand the "Working in Low Latency" section of the manual as the results or problems with working in Low Latency mode are variable.
This section, for instance:
Note: The sound may change in Low Latency mode. Depending on the plug-ins in use, the changes can be anything from subtle to dramatic. If plug-ins being used do not exceed the total latency limit, there will be no audible difference.
If it was me posting about this issue I would now come back with what exactly is inserted/bussed on the tracks because it could be an accumulative problem based on what plug-ins you have active and if they are on audio tracks (stereo or mono), instrument tracks etc. Lots of variables. The section of the manual quoted above won't give specific instances as any user could be using any combination of any amount of plug-ins.
So more information is needed before anyone can help you any further.

Should be able to go into your sound preferences and choose your output device, you can also try downloading Airfoil and try that, it's a pretty cool app.

And When i double click the video files in the editing program, another window pops up named: Source:Sequence 01. But the window Program:Sequence 01 Has a Red screen on it! But the file clearly works so i have no idea what to do.

Pink Floyd documentary from iTunes only plays audio on iPad?

I downloaded the new remastered version of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and it included a documentary called "Behind the Wall." The video plays fine on my iMac and on my iPhone, but on my iPad 2, it only plays the audio.
I tried hitting "command-i" so i could switch the tag from "Music Video" to "TV show" to see if that worked, but that option is greyed out and i cannot change it from being a music video.
I sync everything through iCloud and iTunes Match, if that matters.

Duh, never mind. On my iPhone, the documentary shows up and plays under my "Music". On the iPad, it also shows up under "Music" but i can only play the audio. But if i tap my "Videos" button and look under the "Music Videos" tab, the documentary plays fine. User error, to be sure. But also a bit of interface oddity, that the doc plays fine under Music on my iPhone but not on my iPad....

MPMoviePlayerController only playing audio *when played again*

Hi guys,
I'm using MPMoviePlayerController to play back a movie file called Move.m4v (extracted from Apple's own "MoviePlayer" sample project). It plays back just fine when I call the play function, but if I exit the player and try to play it again, I only get audio. There's no video and none of the controls show up either!
I tried playing the "MoviePlayer" sample again. It shows fine the first time around, but if you play it again, it becomes all flickery!
Does anyone please have a solution for this, or has seen it before?

I found that if you release the instance in a 'moviePlayBackDidFinish' that sometimes this can cause an error (almost as if the instance is still required). The way I do it is to release the instance right before you call it again:

Changed TV out to off but ipod still only plays audio and no video

Just recently my ipod decided not to play video. All the videos in the video folders are gone and now appear in the music folder. Even the video podcasts no longer appear in the video podcast folder. I have changed the TV to out to off and still it continues to do the same thing. I am not sure what happened, I don't believe I changed any settings or anything. I would hate to reset the ipod and lose everything. Need help, thanks.

It plays fine on my other pc, but I only get audio and no video when I open it on this pc. It shows up like static lines on a tv that has bad reception.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect.

Airplay only plays audio - video is black screen with subtitles

On my 5th generation IPOD Touch, after downloading a movie from Itunes, I only see audio. The video is all black, with subtitls only.
After many attemts to fix this - i.e. reboot Apple TV, Reboot TV, Reboot IPod touch, Reboot WIFI Router, I still saw this problem.
This is with IOS 7.01. Has anyone seen this problem? So annoying and frustrating!

Why do my old QT files only play audio on QT X on Lion system

I have some old NTSC (DV/DVCPRO) videos that play well on my old Leopard system but on my new Lion Macbook Pro, only the audio will play. The video will play from within Finder but when I double click and it launches QT, QT behaves as if its only an audio file. This is true when I try to import into Final Cut X. Final Cut shows it as an audio file BUT 2 of the files DO show video. These are all 720x480 video dumps. So 7 files show as audio files and 2 work correctly. And all work fine under Quicktime 7.7 under Leopard 10.5.8.

Please disregard this posting. I took the old file and ran it thru compressor in a 422 format and now everything works fine and only took about 10 minutes per hour of video. I don't know how to cancel a request and I'm really pressed for time. Thank you.
