Buttons and jumping back to another slide

Hello,
I have a workflow page that has multiple buttons attached that will propel a user to the section in the tutorial that is more relevant to their learning requirements. However am trying to add buttons to take them back to a slide where they can then select another section. Is it not possible to jump back to a slide, as when I view the project it only takes you to the next slide even though the properties clearly state to jump to a previous slide?
I would greatly apreciate some help with this one?

Hi - I wish I had an answer for you to this as I'm experiencing the same problem. I just imported a CP4 project in to CP5. It has buttons to jump to other slides that also don't work. e.g. A "Back" button set to "Go to the previous slide"...and it doesn't. When clicked the project just continues on to the next slide. Also have a button that Jumps to a slide approx 4 slides back. Clicking that button does the same thing - the project just advances forward.
I have tried building a new CP5 blank project. 3 slides in total with Next and Back buttons on each slide set to do the appropriate moves. This actually does work just fine so at least it can work, but for the imported project..another story. Wondering whether this is a problem with importing a CP4 project?
I have tried publishing this project to a web server too - but same problem.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Captivate 5.5 Buttons and Jump To Slide Not Working

I have a home slide where users can choose from 10 state-specific training options. There are 178 slides in the total presentation. When I open the presentation fresh a couple of the buttons work and jump to the correct state. One button jumps to a different slide than what is defined and the rest of the buttons do not work at all. If I select one of the buttons that works then return to the beginning of the presentation all the buttons work fine. The problem occurs when I open a fresh copy of the published presentation from my hard drive. The buttons are all active and there is no click box on the slide - you need to click on one of the state buttons to continue past the initial slide. I cannot understand why this is not working or why everything works fine when I return to the home slide from somewhere else in the presentation. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Buttons may seem a bit hit and miss and may be daunting with all the Active VS Inactive timeline bits and all. But I've really never known them to totally fail or be all that random.
Things to consider with Buttons.
What does the button do?
As I explained in my earlier reply, if a button is programmed to jump to a slide a lot farther down the track, and that portion of the track hasn't yet arrived from the server, this could well be an issue.
Another thing that can affect whether a button operates as you wish is if you are trying to jump to a slide that is beyond a Question slide (or a slide being treated as a Quiz slide) and your Quiz settings are configured so that each question must be answered before you may proceed. Captivate will disallow visiting a slide beyond the first unanswered question.
Sometimes a Button is configured to open a URL or a file. And it works fine during preview within Captivate, but fails after you publish. This is most often an issue with Flash Security Settings blocking the action and is described at the link below:

I updated the OS and now cannot edit pictures in Aperture because the program continuously jumps back to another picture

its super annoying and I have wasted hours today trying to fix it. Updated Aperture. Restarted and shut down computer. Deleted the /library/preferences as suggested

I'm not sure which model. Purchased about 2 years ago. Using OS X Yosemite. Version 3.6 of Aperture. And another person had a similar question about jumping to other pictures on here and that was a suggestion.
When I go into Aperture, the first picture that shows up becomes the picture that it continuously jumps back to, once I edit it. Say I crop the first picture and move to the next one, it'll jump back to that first picture. Scroll 10 pictures down and the first picture will show up even though the picture highlighted is not the picture showing. This is leaving me unable to edit anything and quite frustrated.

DW5 back button (and go back function) OK in Firefox, go back too far in IE8.

Both the browser window back arrow button and the DW5 javascript "go back" function go back the correct ONE STEP in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer 8 either button jumps too far back, to a main page instead of to the departure point within some opened tab or opened accordion element on that page. Not stepping bcak through "history". Any ideas what is wrong in IE8?

before I go back to your "back"-function, I would like to draw your attention to DW's "jump function" (translated from my German DW). It appears to me a greater reliability in use than the other solutions. You can accurately send the people to the desired page.

I know these back-solutions and sometimes it is not all to bad toyou have these opportunities:

I recently upgraded my iPod Touch G4 with IOS 5. However, I cannot use album arts to select my songs any more. Every time I try to do it, the screen will freeze and jump back to the normal Apps screen. What can be possibly wrong?

Does anyone has the same issue after IOS 5 upgrade?

I have experienced the same issue with my 32gb 4g touch since upgrading to IOS 5.
The problem seems to be caused by very large album art graphics. When the album art screen freezes and the ipod jumps back to the apps screen the ipod app is actually crashing (presumably caused by a memory issue).
The short term solution I found is to simply reduce the size of the album art graphics files used (via itunes). Since I have reduced the file sizes of my album art the ipod app has not crashed.
There does still seem to be an issue with the smoothness of the cover flow app which is much more laggy and jerky since the ios5 upgrade - this was reported during beta testing so hopefully apple will address this issue.

When I open certain emails the scroll bars at the side and bottom flash and jump back and forth along with the email content

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Yahoo mail. Ever since then when I open certain emails the scroll bars jump back and forth and flash. This happens when I open my AT&T bill or something from Amazon for instance. A message appears at the bottom such as "Transferring data from mail.yimg.com", or "us.bc.yahoo.com". This doesn't happen when I use Safari.

Mobile site moves and jumps back into place

I cant really see whats causing this?
The first page with the four tiles stay's in place but when you go to any of the other pages it jumps just
as the page is loading! Any work arounds?

Well, it's there, I didn't glue it back because I didn't know what sort of glue to use and I figure this region gets really hot, so it shouldn't be just any kind of glue. I just slid the hd in with it, it's as good as glued.
A hint here: if you close the upper case just a bit wrong, chances are your dvd drive won't work anymore, it will start spitting discs and behaving like it's broken.
I for one wouldn't advise anyone opening the macbook case, it's absolutely painful and a lot can go wrong. But if you, like me, wasn't satisfied with the Apple Care service - here in Brasil the service provider I sent my mb to changed my battery for an older one and dented one of the tips of the battery case to the point it lost it's color - and you have a spare mac (I have a Core Duo mini, then good luck!

I hate the update of the bar. It has totally done away with being able to skip back several places in the browser; now I can only click the back button and go back one page at a time. I otherwise hate the new layout, too. How do I undo this?

I can't choose a specific page to skip back to but must click the back button over and over to get back to where I want to skip to. The little headings "most visited," "getting started," "Youtube," etc. have changed. They look more colorful, but I hate how the home button is clear over to the right side of the page, etc. What was wrong with the way everything was before? I HATE this new update, and I didn't even want it.

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

Flash buttons and History.back

I am using a flash button created in DW studio 8.
But want to use the javascript:history.back() for the link.
I put in the link textfield javascript:history.back()
But that don't work how can i fix that please?

I wouldn't recommend the use of Flash buttons period.
They cannot be spidered.
They do not appear when the visitor doesn't have Flash
plugin.
They are not usable by screen assistive devices.
They have link and path problems after they have been
inserted on your page.
Your best bet is to forget they exist and use an ordinary
text or graphic
link.

Why can't I hit goback button and go back more than one page

Upgraded from 6.3 to firefox 8. When I use the back button I can't go back more than one page. I use to be able to go back as many pages as I wanted. Use win xp sp3 fully updated,1 gb memory pentium 4.

Thanks for your reply to my question. I use Noia for my theme and like the way the back and forward buttons are arranged. I found the solution for my problem in about:config>browser.sessionhistory.max_entries was set to 2. I changed it to 50 and problem solved. Thanks for your help.

How can I log out of one apple ID on my iphone and log back into another apple ID that I have, there are older apps that are not updating because of this I think.

There are four apps that say they are "installing but nothing ever happens...any clue what to do? I believe that it is because I have two apple ID's.

Check the apps in question to be sure they don't say "paused"; if they do, tap them and select stop. Then try again. If they don't, I'm not sure what the problem is. FYI, one my older apps also took quite a while to finally update earlier today...just waited it out and it finally did.

Front Row TV Show menu gets confused and jumps back

I recently upgraded my Intel Mac mini to Mac OS X 10.5.5 (Leopard). Front row seems to get confused as I browse through my TV Shows menu. For instance, if I scroll down to "Heroes" (season 2) the select bar seems to jump to "Grey's Anatomy" on it's own. After it does this it also confuses the artwork for the shows.
I've only found one instance of this issue doing a Google search, but nothing here in Apple discussion forums. Has anyone dealt with this successfully.?

Hi friends...bought the ipad new 15 days back..today i noticed that my ipad is switching off by itself while i am using it round about 2 mins after use and coming back to its slide to unlock status...that has happened after i charged its battery to 100%..

please help...its quite urgent..

If you mean after two minutes of NOT using it ....To to Settings>General>Auto Lock and set the time for longer than two minutes.
