Buttons created in InDesign, exported to flash

Good evening,
I need to deal with different geometric shapes (about 200) designed in InDesign, such as buttons:
1: click the left should change color, and reclick must return to the old color;
Let me know if laying out everything to get what is written above:
1: export the entire page as a flash, for use by third
2: reopening the flash file, all the buttons will keep the same color as before.
3: after changing colors to interested buttons, I must be able to print to PDF the page
Thanks

I am also having problems.  Upgraded to Acrobat DC.  I use a Mac (latest software)
When I export from InDesign CC to Acrobat DC the interactive elements - especially buttons - go cranky.  I get a strange smudgy kind of drop shadow but in a variety of colours behind the arrows, buttons etc.  All very strange.  It gets worse if I apply a drop shadow and bevel and emboss to the button (even a home made button rather than one of the sample buttons).
I'm currently working away from home and so can't try any other computer.
Strange.

  • Buttons created in InDesign don't display properly in Acrobat DC

    I am having issues with how buttons created in InDesign CC (2014) and exported to interactive PDF display in Acrobat DC. These buttons use transparent layers and effects such as drop shadow. The buttons displayed great in Acrobat XI.
    Acrobat XI:
    Acrobat DC:
    The buttons used a transparent white layer to simulate glare. As you can see, it comes out black in DC! The drop shadow has added white coloring knocking the buttons out from the background instead of blending nicely. I can avoid using these styling methods in future projects, but this project has used these buttons for several years, and now several years worth of PDFs won't display correctly for anyone who updates to DC!

  • Email button created in InDesign won't work on Interactive PDF. Anyone know a fix?

    Hello there, I am trying to make a e-mail button work after its .swf file is imported into a new iD document and exported as a interactive PDF. I have tried various things and work around but I can not seem to be able top make it wrong. I ask iD twiter for help and after a conversation with them I was told to try here.
    OS: Windows 7, iD Version 9.2.1 x64
    This is my process (Will include images and document files)
    1. Create simple solid color box object. Add a text title to the box and otline the text.
    2. Group the objects and make it into a button. Add a roll over appearance.
    3. Add "go to URL" action. One sample button URL is: mailto:test@email(dot)com, Second sample URL is: mailto://test@email(dot)com (the forum editor kept making links to this fake emails)
    4. Export iD document to .swf (Settings where default)
        NOTE* Here the .swf open in chrome and the email buttons work fine as a .swf alone
    5. Import the SWF into a new iD file. Export this second iD file to an Interactive PDF (Seetings where default)
    After doing this I click on the email buttons inside the interactive PDF but they dont start my email app (Outlook 2013) However every time I click either button a new empty Google Chrome window opens.
    Here is a dropbox link to the files themselves, the type is outlines so no need to worry for missing fonts. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fp76buzt98td8fy/4DD6tqImd9
    I hope someone can help me getting this fixed. Http:// Link buttons work fine on interactive PDF's following this process. For soem reason the email ones are the only ones that wont work. I have to use this process because I am working with an interactive PDF that has an animated roll over menue that does not work with ePub so the only way for my project to work the way I want it too is by exporting .swf of the finished file, importing on a new iD file and re-exporting to a interactive PDF.
    It was really hard finding anyhting related to this issue im having. Here is the only similar  issue I could find and it is from 2008! http://forums.adobe.com/thread/324167 I do hope I am the one doing something wrong here and not that Adobe has not fixed this .swf email links issue.
    Thanks for the help!
    -Sebastian

    Alright thanks! Ok this is what happens in my end:
    - The interactive PDF you sent me works fine. The iD file opens fine as well and is exactly the same process so that checks.
    -I exported your iD file to .swf, created a new iD document and imported the exported .swf file from the file you created. I exported this new document to interactive PDF. I open it and again I click the links and only google chrome windows open
    This is the link it probably works fine on your end
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/on5tun0v0eunjhu/buttons%20email%20text%20swf%20imported%20to%20i nteractive%20pdf.pdf
    I think there is something going on in my end. "Google Chrome" or "Flash" might be intersecting email links or something becuase I cannot get these .swf + interactive pdf combo to open the email client not even after I used your iD file, exported .swf, imported it and export again to interactive pdf.
    Again the interactive pdf you sent works fine and when I export my file to interactive pdf it works on my end as well, its only after i export to swf and then I use the file inside iD and export to interactive pdf that it does causes me trouble. I will see what I can do to fix this. At least it was working for you so if its only in my end then its not that bad but it will bugg me forever haha!
    Thanks again for your help!! Sorry to take your time Salah!

  • Video in Indesign, exporting to Flash

    I need to create a flip book, with intereactive curling pages for a trade show. I have seen you can export from ID and do this, but I have to add video to book. What is the correct way to do this? I tried to to export as an .XFL to add the video in Flash, but the book looses its page curling when doing that, and just plays through real fast.What is the best way to go about a project like this? Also is it possible to add a play head?  thanks

    Thank you for the info, I have put in request to purchasing to upgrade to CS5, currently on 4. Aside form the video, is there a way to add a playhead to skip ahead pages, and/or add tabs for chapters? thanks!

  • Can not export to flash

    I would like to export a captivate project to flash, but the
    options under the edit button are grey (can not select
    them).

    Generally, the grayed out selections means you either do not
    have Flash on that PC, or you have an incompatible version. You
    didn't say what version of Captivate you are running, so the below
    might help:
    Captivate 3 designed compatible with Flash 8 > Flash CS3
    Captivate 2 designed compatible with Flash 8
    Captivate 1 designed compatible with Flash 2004 MX
    It has been a while, so it is possible I am wrong about the
    above. If I am, can someone please correct the versions listed.
    Thanks.
    When Captivate is installed, it looks for the compatible
    Flash. Sometimes if you install Flash
    after Captivate, it might not get registered, in which case,
    try reinstalling Captivate using the *Repair* option on the
    installer.
    Hope this helps, www.
    Larry
    P.S. Just caught a single word in your post - you said the
    options under the Edit button.
    What Edit button? Captivate's Export to Flash is on the File
    menu. Maybe we are not talking about the same thing at all?? Is it
    possible you mean you want to
    publish to the Flash SWF format and something is grayed out
    there? Guess we need a little more clarity onthe problem...

  • Adding a print button, a "download" PDF button and a navigation bar in a SWF created by InDesign

    I can't find a way to add "PDF features" on a SWF file exported from InDesign CS5.5 such as:
    - a print button
    - a download PDF button
    - a navigation bar (outside of the pages)
    edocker provides these features but it is pretty expensive and does not allow a lot of customization.
    Would anyone have an idea of how to do it ?
    Thank you.

    eDocker actually allows you to use all the interactive features you can create in InDesign. It kind of "wraps" your exported SWF into a user interface with all those 3 elements asked + more (zoom for instance)
    Check out these links:

  • Menu Buttons won't work after exporting to flash

    This is a strange problem, and I can't seem to figure it out.
    I've created a demo DVD with my work on it. The DVD navigates and works fine. It has a "First Play" and the end action to the first play is the main menu. There are 6 buttons on the main menu. 2 Buttons link to 2 other menus which have my work broke down by category. 3 buttons link to 3 different and separate timelines, like a graphic montage, replay the first play, and play all. Then the last button just links to my contact info. It all works fine on a DVD export.
    When I export to flash, once the first play finishes playing, and the end action is triggered (which is to go to the main menu) none of the buttons will work on the main menu page. If reload the page, and while the first play is playing, I skip first play by going to the main menu (by clicking on the flash button for main menu), the buttons on the main menu will work fine. But once I go to one of the sub-category menus and play something, then click on the "Back to Main Menu Button", it won't work. I am stuck on that sub-menu.
    Same thing happens if, on the main menu page, I click on "graphic montage". When the graphic montage timeline plays all the way through from start to finish, the end action takes me back to the main menu, but none of the buttons on the main menu button work. But if I interrupt the "graphic montage" by clicking on the main menu flash button, and go back to the main menu, then the buttons on the main menu work fine. This problem only seems to happen when I click a button and the timeline play in it's entirety. If I interrupt the timeline (say like half-way through) the buttons on the menus will work fine.
    I hope this all makes sense. It's hard to explain. But if you do understand what I'm trying to say, any help would be grateful.
    Thanks. Tom

    I'm in the same boat as Thomas.
    I've created a DVD w/ 1 Main Menu & 1 Sub Menu.
    Main = Chapter Select & Play All. (both links work)
    Sub = 9 links to Chapter Points & Main Menu. (NO links work)
    I only have this problem when I export to Flash.
    Everything seems to be fine when I preview or create a DVD.
    I have tried with Firefox, InternetExplorer, & Safari; both locally and loaded to the server.
    It is currently sitting at: www.media.bodyshoptv.com/CCVIP_Orientation

  • Is it possible to implement files into an InDesign document, that  are exported from Flash?

    I have worked with InDesign quite a lot, and now I'd like to make an eBook using the software. I don't know much about Adobe Flash, just starting to learn, and I'd like to know if there is a file format exported from Flash that can be used in an epub format document made with InDesign?
    (I'm not sure if I gave the right definition of things but I hope you'll undersand.)
    Thanks in advance,
    Bibi

    Hi Bibi,
    the quick answer is no. You can place swf in InDesign and that will be honored during a interactive PDF-Output, but not with EPUB. If you try to get some animations to EPUB, you must use HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. This can be done in InDesign CC with the help of Adobe Edge Animate.
    But note: There is only a minor support for this feature for different devices.

  • Export internal table to Excel file pressing a new button created in ALV

    Hello, I am trying to implement the functionality to export to excel file inside a button that i have created into my ALV. I don't want to use FileDownload UI.
    The code I have set for event handler of this button is the following:
    METHOD attach_files .
      TYPES:
        BEGIN OF tipo_alv_tab,
          tipod    TYPE objid,
          descd   TYPE p1000-stext,
          begda   TYPE begdatum,
          endda   TYPE enddatum,
          pernr     TYPE pernr_d,
          nombre  TYPE ad_namefir,
          email     TYPE ad_smtpadr,
          posicion TYPE p1000-stext,
          uodesc   TYPE p1000-stext,
        END OF tipo_alv_tab.
      DATA:
        i_alv_tab    TYPE TABLE OF tipo_alv_tab,
        conv_out     TYPE REF TO cl_abap_conv_out_ce,
        content      TYPE xstring,
        lv_filename  TYPE string,
        xml_out      TYPE string.
    Fill values from memory
      IMPORT name1 TO i_alv_tab  FROM MEMORY ID 'ZCA'.
    Build XML file with internal table information
      CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID') SOURCE tab = i_alv_tab[] RESULT XML xml_out.
    Build XSTRING with XML
      CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_IC_XML_STRING2XSTRING'
        EXPORTING
          instring   = xml_out
        IMPORTING
          outxstring = content.
    Format XSTRING
      conv_out = cl_abap_conv_out_ce=>create( encoding = 'UTF-8'  ).
    Convert data
      conv_out->convert( EXPORTING data = xml_out IMPORTING buffer = content ).
    Save file
      CALL METHOD cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response
        EXPORTING
          i_filename      = 'Excel File.xls'
          i_content       = content
          i_mime_type     = 'application/msexcel'
          i_in_new_window = i_in_new_window
          i_inplace       = i_inplace.
    ENDMETHOD.
    When pressing the button, the file created is without extension, and with a rare name. When trying to open the file, it seems to be corrupted.
    Does anyone know what am I doing wrong???
    Please, help is really really appreciated!!!!

    Hi Jorge,
    The export data to excel functionality is available inbuilt in ALV and you dont have to write any implementation. However, if you want to create your own button for it, you can do so as below.
    data:
    lr_button type ref to cl_salv_wd_fe_button,
    lr_function type ref to cl_salv_wd_function.
    CREATE OBJECT lr_button.
    lr_button->set_text( 'Export to excel' ).
    lr_button->set_tooltip( 'Export data to excel' ).
    lr_function = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~create_function( id = 'EXCEL' ).
    lr_function->set_function_std( IF_SALV_WD_C_STD_FUNCTIONS=>EXPORT_EXCEL ).
    lr_function->set_editor( lr_button ).
    Now, you have created your own button, created a user defined function for the ALV and set this button as editor for the function. And using the set_function_std method, we have just mapped the functionality of your new button to the existing export to excel functionality in ALV.
    Hope this is what you are looking for.

  • Exported To FLash 8 - MC question Radio Button Size?

    I have a quiz that uses MC and T or F questions - I am
    exporting it to flash to integrate it with some other content.
    I have everything working at this point, except I need to
    increase the font size of the question Radio buttons and everything
    i have tried so far hasn't worked. I am guessing it is somewhere in
    the captivate quiz class files but i havent been able to track it
    down.

    Thanks for the response.
    After i posted I kept digging and found where the code is
    that sets the font for the Radio buttons in the quizzes when you do
    an export to flash. What I found out is listed below in case anyone
    else ever needs the information- hopefully it will save someone
    else some time.
    The ".as" file is --
    C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME HERE\Local
    Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash
    8\en\Configuration\Classes\AdobeCaptivate\quiz\CpMultipleChoice.as
    Strating at line 106 there is the following code
    p._font.name = "Arial";
    p._font.size = 12;
    p._name = "" + numAnswers;
    I was then able to make the font size larger to match the
    other text on the screen (i do have to say it's rather annoying
    that those attributes don't get exported from the captivate file,
    because i set the font properties before exporting - but i guess
    there is probably a reason for that)

  • InDesign vs. Flash

    To make a slide show for a PDF, it is easier to create a multi-state button InDesign or use Flash to create the slide show, and which would take less memory?
    (cross-posted in InDesign forum)

    When you export InDesign file to FLA, each spread is mapped to a new keyframe on Flash Pro timeline.
    All the animations on a particular spread are converted to separate movie clips. And all these movie clips are included inside a single movie clip. These movie clips are named as Spread_1, Spread_2, Spread_3, etc...
    All the movie clips inside the spread are available in the Library panel.
    When exported from InDesign, all the interactivity and synchronization (that is, the things you might have provided in Timing panel from InDesign) is lost because export is meant to be a tool for workflow where graphic designer creates first part in Indesign and delivers that stuff to Flash-coder or other Flash-operator for finalizing it in Flash environment.
    That’s the reason you are getting the looping of all the movie clips when you directly publish the exported fla file.
    Following 2 steps are required to be updated for every FLA:
    1.       Update each movie clip from stage so that it has “stop();” action in it. This takes care of constant looping.
    2.       Add the synchronization and interactivity.

  • Button issue in InDesign CS4

    I need to add text using interactive -->  button option in InDesign CS4. This particular text has to appear when I  mouse the text in PDF after generating from InDesign CS4. I don't want  to add those text in PDF itself.
    Indesign CS3 has  button options to add text but InDesign CS4 does have that option to add  text. Please guide me how to add text using Button in ID CS4.
    What  I did was: I have created a button and add text using button option and  save it. When exporting PDF from ID CS3, I have enabled the option  Interactive elements. After generating PDF from ID CS3 I have mouse over  the text, whatever text I was inserted in button it appeared in PDF  well.
    But this option is not available in InDesign CS4. I hope you understand it clear now.
    I  have taken the screenshot below from InDesign CS3 and attached the same  for your reference. This option does have in InDesign CS4. Please help  me out in this regard.

    I've answered this in the other thread where you asked the question.

  • How to create a contact-formular in flash builder 4?

    Hello!
    Is there any way to create a contact-formular in flash builder 4?
    Only three text-boxes (name, email, message) and the "send" button!
    I build my page in flash catalyst and export it as an fxp file to flash builder!
    What comes next? Please help me!
    Greetings

    You understood correctly:
    - I removed all Build Path > Source Paths
    - I moved those paths over to Library Paths > Source attachment
    I took inspiration by how the Flex SDK is added to the project. Flex and flex related frameworks (e.g. datavisualization lib)  also specify a Source Attachment under Lib Path. If I remove the source attachment I am not able to drill down into Flex code when I want to by Command-clicking on a class name (or hitting F3).
    All my SWC are open source. BTW some of the source paths I was using were the path to the Flex code and to datavisualtization lib, which I think are the biggest library I am linking against. So maybe to recreate, just add those 2 libraries and make sure to add the source path AND source attachment.
    I am using RSLs for every library if that matters.
    I don't understand why specifying a Source Attachment would cause any issues...  the swc is in sync with the source specified in its source attachment.

  • Not able to resize a layer created in indesign

    I created a document in InDesign which had numerous text and image boxes. I exported this as a PDF and then imported it as a layer into an Acrobat document (Acrobat 9 Pro) when I try to resize or move that layer only some of the layer moves - it doesn't seem to select the entire layer. Obviously the individual text/image frames created in InDesign are there, albeit hidden. All I want to do is resize and reposition the entire PDF exported from InDesign and have all the text/images retain their positional relationship.

    It's not a layer really, but you can do much of what you describe if you use a button to display the page as the button's icon. You can make it any size you want and choose from several scaling types. You can also flatten the button when you're done to convert its appearance to regular page contents.
