Buttons in a movieclip react too slow (AIR all versions - in Android: impossible to use)
Hi to all,
I'm just correcting the title (or subject) of this post:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3438581#3438581
("adobe? seems there is a bug in buttons behaviour!! (not really air only)")
Adobe team, please give some feedback. Can't go on with Android app.
or maybe somebody knows a workaround?
(similar problems with buttons created with movieclips via actionscript.. project stalled)
to troubleshooting the bug (seems not to be just a bug; seems to be something worst at low level of AIR kernel at movieclips mechanism):
with an android device (I'm using Sambsung Galaxy Tab - 7" display resolution) go to Android Market, search for 'mc2labs' and select 'Mc2labs Realpad debug version'.
NB please note: 'DEBUG VERSION' only helps to debug:
two standard "Enter" buttons:
the left one is on main timeline, the right one is on a movieclip (on main timeline). note the difference on the black board on the left:
mouse events for "on main timeline" button works fine
mouse events for "on mc" button doest NOT work fine

Macbook Pro extremely slow all of a sudden, impossible to use.
Friday afternoon my Mac froze and after powering down and restarting, it has been extremely slow. Before now it was running perfectly. Now, it takes about 20 minutes to start up and then about another 20 minutes to load the dock and another 20 minutes to open an app, etc. It's impossible to use. I get the loading wheel between every word I type.
After running in safe mode/repairing hard drive/etc. nothing had changed. So I just decided to backup all of my stuff and try to restore it to factory settings. I erased the hardrive and set up my computer again. It's still running the same way though. Extremely slow, impossible to use.
I'm running on Mavericks 10.9.3. Is there anything I could do or could this be something like a failing hard drive?
I bought my mac about 8 months ago. I already made an appointment at the genius bar for tomorrow night but I would really really rather not have to go. The store near me is just horrible, they make up excuses to why your warranty might be void and they are just plain rude, from my experience and from what I've heard from many others they don't really know what they're doing.tiffanyisweird,
your AHT should have been reïnstalled with the factory reset. It could well be copying the AHT to your internal disk now over the Internet.
Is that second closest store an Apple store, or an Apple-authorized service center? You might find that there’s an Apple-authorized service center closer than that second Apple store. (I’m about three hours away from my closest Apple store, but my closest Apple-authorized service center is less than two hours away.) -
My Macbook Pro is too slow!
I am only running Firefox, Papers2 and Pages and 3.99GB of my 4GB ram is being used up. A detailed description of my system I took with EtreCheck is below.
There is a kernel task that is using a lot of my memory, does anyone know what this is ?
I hope someone can help me !
Best,

i find that AT MIO 16E 10 ISA slot make my computere too slow (200MHz) what speed of CPU should be used and how much RAM should be used to maintain good speed
Hello;
There isn't a specific CPU speed as well as RAM that we benchmark as the optimal configuration.
However, since the data transfer from the on board memory to the computer memory is done through DMA channels, the faster the CPU of your computer the better the overall performance is.

My Macbook air is runnning too slow. I thought it was my internet service at home, but it is everywhere. Can someone help me clean out old or unneeded files? Thanks!
I wonder if there's some online activity going on (as it used to run OK) which is hogging CPU / memory?
If you open Activity Monitor and click on the "percentage" field it will order the processes so you can see which is taking up most.
You could try disconnecting from the internet to see if that makes a big improvement... if it does, maybe something wrong with a site you're visiting? -

I dont understand the reason. Could you please help me out.
Thank you,
Deepika Gohil.Check your web server's access logs to see how many requests web start is sending for each jar. After you've loaded the application the first time, for each subsequent launch, if you've got everything configured right, you should only see requests for the JNLP file and maybe some gifs because web start should load everything else out of the cache (if you're using the version-based download protocol). Or if you're using the basic download protocol, then you might see requests for each jar file, but even in this case, if your web server is prepared to evaluate the last-updated attribute for each jar request and for jars that have not changed, respond with no actual payload and a header value of Not-Modified, then that should run almost as fast.
You might also want to consider changing the "check" attribute of the "update" element from "always" to "background" for a couple of reasons. It should allow your app to start sooner (but this means that you might have to launch once or twice after an update is applied to the web server before the update shows up on the workstation). Also, my impression is that "always" is broken and prevents web start from ever checking to see if your jnlp file has been updated if you launch your app from a web start shortcut - launching from a browser is less likely to have this problem, depending on how often your browser is configured to check for updated resources. -

Jan 31, 2015, 05:24:14 PM Self test - passedI can't stand peremptory affirmations like "Nothing is wrong with Safari".
Thousands of users can't be wrong (see the discussions).
If I read you the right way, it's never software' fault, it's the user who's the culprit.
Amazing!
In this very case, the fact is we can't give to "christinefromfonthill" a good solution because weren't sitting in front of her Mac.
You give her a good advice which could, perhaps, lead to an improvement.
But must also admit that Safari is a very slow browser compared to Firefox or Chrome.
And you can't ignore all the problems which arose when upgrading to Lion and were related to the new build and specs of Safari 5.1.
The best example is the apparition of "garbage type" (use of Last Resort font) when reading numerous sites. This never occured before and is the direct consequence of Safari compliance to Web Open Type. This standard prohibits the use of Type 1 Postscript Fonts and is the reason why so many people are in trouble.
I use a Mac for more than 25 years.
I am a very "clean" user who hates the bells and whistles of third party.
My Mac is always up-to-date and despite all my Mac loving care, I run into some problems.
Imagine the nightmare which can occurs for the vulgum pecus who isn't, by definition, a power user aware of all the requirements for running a System in optimal conditions.
May be Safari is one step in advance on its time but lambda users are paying the price for it. -
Golive CS2 too slow on my Mac g5 to get any work done?
For the past 2 years I have been slowly building a rather large web site (about 2000 hours invested). We will be selling items we import from india (my girlfriend and I spend 3 moths a year in India) and then there is an entire section on India travel tips, photos and travel logs.
I am pleased with Golive 6.01 and recently converted my site to CS2, just to find it is very slow on my macintosh G5 and many weird bugs And site looks the same as in 6.01 when previewed in various browsers. Also in CS2 when I click on preview button, the page I want to work on closes and the page that brought me to that page pops up.
I bought a G5 macintosh which should run CS2 more quickly but:
I have yet to see my site in Explorer 7 for Windows because Microsoft did not make Explorer for Mac after version 5.0.
My question is:
Why not complete site in 6.01 and then before it is published convert to CS2. I can't get anything done with CS2 it is just way too slow.
Thanks Stuart
(Could installing 2 versions of Golive on one drive be generating the bugs?)Hi all:
Been cleaning up Site (weird files not in my site but on desktop keep showing up as errors) got ride of them. Turned of my internet connection). Things seem to be getting better.......for now. Working on G4....will move to my G5 and see.
Might pull this one out.
Why several target files with only one source show as an error is an irratation because help says it's not really an error and can be ignored.
OH...one quick question do SOURCE files get uploaded to host when one publishes? Or perhaps a better question! Do SOURCE files need to be uploaded to host. I suspect not...but I also suspect It's OK..might just slow things down a bit?
Thanks to all of you.....this miserable world needs more like you all!

IOS8 is too slow on iPad3! Can I restore to my 7.1.2 backup without having to reset to factory defaults? I have both iCloud and iTunes backups....
No.
Apple has no support or provision for reverting to a previous iOS version.
Try a reset of your iPad by holding down the power button and hone button simultaneously until your iPad screen goes black and the Apple Logo reappears on screen, then let go of the buttons. -
Logic Freezes During Playback w/ Disk Too Slow Error
I'm trying to mix a song in Logic 9.1.7, but it has gotten to the point where Logic immediately freezes as soon as I hit the playback button in order to actually listen to my project. Before this I was occasionally getting the Sudden Motion Sensor/ Disk Too Slow error. I have increased the buffer size to 1024 and set the buffer range to large. I haven even disabled the sudden motion sensor, just incase this was the problem. I am currently using a Macbook Pro which is not connected to the interface, so this shouldn't be a problem. However, I use a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 interface. The only third party plug-in that I am currently running on the project is the Focusrite Plug-in Suite - which I think might be the issue, considering that my other laptop is runing the same plug-in and having the exact same error. I already tried downloading every relevant software patch and update from the Focusrite website, all to no avail. I have been running Logic along with this plug-in, for over 2 years now and have never once had this problem. I haven't had any problem running Pro Tools, so obviously this problem is specific to Logic. This is incredibly frustrating, and I need this resolved soon. I have a deadline that I must meet by the end of the week.
Update: I just tried running Logic in 64-bit mode. It played for maybe a second and then gave me an error indicating that the plug-in suite was indeed keeping it from running properly. Guess I was right. It will play properly now, but contantly pops up with errors, not to mention that the HD and CPU meters are both constantly riding the red. I will put the most recent 64-bit error report log before the first one I got. I recieved the first one while still running 32-bit.
Here is the 64-bit one:

It looks like your Focusrite Plugin Suite is out of date. Please download and install the latest version of the plugins suite (1.2) from here, and see if that fixes your issue: http://us.focusrite.com/downloads?product=Focusrite+Plugin+Suite

Disk too slow and system overload error
I like many other users am having problems with the "disk too slow or system overload error (-10010)." It only seems to occur during playback attempts, seeing as I recorded with no problems yesterday, and only began happening today (granted, I have not tried recording anything since this started happening). I have tried changing the buffer size (still occurs at all levels), and, as per noted in a similar post, ensuring that my computer does not at any time put drives to sleep. All my sessions are stored on an external Toshiba Canvio Connect 2.0 TB drive connected directly to my computer via USB.
My setup (I know that this is going to draw a lot of criticism) is a macbook air with 2 gb 1067 MHz DDR3 ram and a 1.4 GHz intel core 2 duo processor, running OS X 10.9.3. While I am fully aware (I promise) that these are well below the recommended numbers, I have been using this configuration since June without any problems whatsoever.Clancy,
No problem!
I also added it to the Useful links and resources for Logic Pro X page in the tips sections....
Cheers..

GARAGE BAND disk is too slow. (prepare) (-10001)
Hi, Im trying to edit some mp3 files in separated tracks in GB on my NEW Macbook Air 2013 with 4gb ram and 128 flash drive, this files are between 170mb and 221 MB, so this message comes on: disk is too slow. (prepare) (-10001) garageband... what can i do? The files are MP3. What could be the problem? the 4gb of RAM? the 128gb ssd? Thanks!
How much free disk space do you have? Keep at least 10 GB disk space free for the operating system as working space, better more.
Try to lock all tracks that you are currently not using, while you are editing.
Close all other applications and reboot, before starting to work.
If the problem persists, you may have a problem with incompatible audio drivers. Then I'd test from a different user account, to check, if there is a general problem.

My iphone suddenly started to react really slow, what should i do??
So, in the last days, my 8 month old iPhone 4S started to react super slow! about 30 percent of the time. When I am at an appclication (Settings as an example) and want to get to the home screen by pressing the home button of course, and when i press the home button, I have to wait for several seconds... (3-10 seconds) And if i am writing an SMS, and when i press send, it doesnt send it for many seconds... and the iphone kind of stops completely for many seconds when i am doing what the phone is meant to do. This phone is not jailbroken of course. What should I do? Should I send it in to apple? Does the guarantee count when this happends? I do not have insurance. Everything i do reacts slow, even just unlocking the phone!!!
HELP!!!Have you done the basics of restart,reset,restore?

Custom cursor is too slow in FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE
My custom cursor is fast in window mode (even maximized) but not in fullscreen where it is really slow.
Is there a solution to this?Dear Rob,
Thanks for your answer.
I have put together a simple test case (see attached zip file) and the custom cursor is still "too slow to be usable" in fullscreen mode. Run it and see that the cursor is fast in window mode. Then hit ctrl+enter to go into fullscreen and see how slow the cursor becomes.
Code:
package
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
import flash.ui.Mouse;
import flash.ui.Keyboard;
import flash.display.StageDisplayState;
import flash.display.MovieClip;
public class Main extends MovieClip
private var _mousePointer:MousePointer;
public function Main()
super();
Mouse.hide();
_mousePointer = new MousePointer();
addChild(_mousePointer);
stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKeyboardDown);
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, onMouseMoved);
private function goFullscreen(fullscreen:Boolean)
if(fullscreen)
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE;
else
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;
private function onMouseMoved(evt:MouseEvent)
_mousePointer.x = mouseX;
_mousePointer.y = mouseY;
evt.updateAfterEvent();
private function onKeyboardDown(evt:KeyboardEvent)
if(evt.controlKey && evt.keyCode == Keyboard.ENTER)
goFullscreen(stage.displayState == StageDisplayState.NORMAL); -
Proximity sensor reacting too close causing droppe...
I have two Nokia Lumia 800 phones and they react too close with proximity sensor causing screen to become active so when I am outdoors in brighter light calls are auto-dropped when my cheek touches the end call button on the screen. I have compared my two Nokias in Diagnostics and they react at exact same distance (around 3 cm) and I have also compared them side-by-side to another LG E900 Windows Phone in their diagnostics where it reacts 2 cm further away (around 5 cm). On the LG calls are never dropped by mistake. Would it be possible for you to change this distance in upcoming firmwares so calls are not dropped as easily?
If I am indoors in darker light or at night it is not common to see it, but during summer time and during more light it is more common I have noticed.
Workaround I have currently is to disable the screen auto on/off feature by pressing power button once after answering or calling. if you do this manually it is disabling proximity sensor screen on/off until you press the power button again.I find it completely ludicrous that Apple can interject on this thread and say it's received too many posts and has to be shut down and a "new" thread started. Really now? Seriously? Couldn't they also simply pop in and post 'hi guys, we hear you and are working on it' ...or something to that effect? That's my main complaint really is the deafening silence. What they're basically telling us is to complain all we want, if we don't like the phone then return it for a refund ...that is if you still have your original defective phone, for all you that already swapped phones, you're beat and are stuck with our mistake for the next 2 years when you'll be upgrade eligible again. ...WOW, thanks for the statement without technically releasing one. ...I think we're all left in the dark because Apple really doesn't know what is going on with the sensor, they can't and or won't release a statement without getting the facts straight. ...but we all know one fact is straight...the sensor is dysfunctional and that alone deserves an acknowledgement. How are we to have faith in Apple to fix the issue when we're left to believe they don't think there is one.
...btw update on "my fix" ...deleting all your photos and putting the phone in your arm pit and then under your pillow is only a temporary solution, for mine sensor is on the fritz again. ...shaking my head, if only this were
funny.
