Buttons - Open file - open in new screen

I use the buttons to open a new PDF. Works fine, but the only problem is that the document opens in the same screen, and when closing this new opened document, I lost my previous screen. I need to restart all.
What is the solution for this issue ?
I can change all the links using Acrobat X, because there you can make the choice. Problem is that when you re-generate a new PDF (some changes), you need to do all the work again.

  • How can I put OSX 10.7 on a new Macbook Air. Maverick no longer allows "open file in a new window" and I really miss it. At the Apple Store they told me it can't be added to the new OSX 10.10 so I  want to change the OSX on the new Macbook Air and it

    I have been using a 2012 Mac pro to do HD video editing. I bought a new portable Macbook Air only to find that Maverick no longer has "open files in a new window" which I use all the time in the very large folders of video clips and royalty-free music. I asked at the Apple Store how I could get this back on the Macbook Air and they said it couldn't be done so I thought I would re-format the HD and install 10.7 on it and was notified by the Macbook Air I can't put 10.7 on that computer. Apple use to give this as an option but now they have gone more to the attitude of "Do it our way or go to ****!" In anger I went out and bought a Dell Laptop and Pinnacle Studio 17 which I have been learning to use. I have been an Apple/Mac user since 1979 and would still rather do my video editing on a Mac. Is there any way that I can force the Macbook Air to let me load in OSX 10.7 where there is still the option to  "open files in a new window" or is there a way to add this to Maverick? The experts at the Madison, WI Couldn't give me any help on this.

    Choose Preferences from the Finder menu, click on the General tab, and uncheck the box to open folders in a new tab.

    The problem is solved!
    Apparently the Content Disposition: Attachment in the BLOB Download Format Mask does the trick.
    For some reason I have to logout and login again in the application to see the change.
    I tried changing the Content Disposition to Inline and then back to Attachment, and the file keeps opening in the same window unless I start a new session.
    Is there any explanation why it is working that way?
    Thanks!

  • Cannot open files or create new files in Photoshop cc trial

    Hi,
    after getting no support from your phone support line. I am writing here in hopes that this issue can be resolved. I cannot open files or create new files in Photoshop CC trial. Please help

    You can open Photoshop, you cannot create new documents. If you click file>new, the normal new dialog box opens, if you click "ok" it goes away. If you double click a PSD it focuses the Photoshop window. Nothing else happens.
    For me this is a new issue today. My computer is an i7/780, more than capable of Photoshop, and has run it fine up until now. My keyboard started freaking out last night and doing things I didn't want it to. I suspect it changed a setting or broke something.
    I have uninstalled and re-installed and it did not resolve the issue.
    This is obviously a critical issue that needs immediate attention.

  • Show button on file open if interactivity supported

    Is there any way to show a button upon file open if and only if the PDF reader opening the file supports interactivity? That is, there's no point showing the button if the end user can't do anything with it.
    It would be fine if the button showed if and only if the PDF reader opening the file is an Adobe product, but it's not a requirement.
    Steps:
    1. Open file
    Expected result: If interactivity is supported (or if the reader is an Adobe product, doesn't matter), show the button.
    The button is not part of a form, but rather is used to show and hide layers. It is okay if the expected result requires JavaScript, as if they have JavaScript disabled, they would get the same result as if they had no interactivity.

    You could define an invisible button and have JavaScript to make it visible on open. Not guaranteed (because who knows what all PDF viewers will do) but worth trying.

  • SSMS: Open File Open File *Click Look In* then Visual Studio Encountered An Unexpected Error

    Hi,
    SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 box.
    Strange one here. A user can OPEN SSMS and VS fine however when they try to Open a file by going Open > File > Open File in SSMS Windows Explorer opens then when you click 'Look-in' an error pops up saying "Visual Studio has encountered an unexpected
    error". When I move that User to a different AD group it works.
    GPO restricts only the D drive from view and it looks like that looks like the most relevant GPO to be set. Any ideas?
    Bjorn

    Hi Bjorn,
    Based on my understanding, you could open SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Studio application. The issue was that error message "Visual Studio has encountered an unexpected error" was thrown out when you tried to open a file in SSMS.
    According to “When I move that User to a different AD group it works”, the issue can occur because the computer is having trouble contacting the domain server to authenticate you as a user. In this scenario, there are two methods we can use:
    Add the TCP\UDP port 88 to firewall rules.
    Set the "Primary DNS" address to the IP address of your domain authentication server.
    For more information, please refer to this article:
    https://ava.co.uk/support/faq/general/visual-studio-encountered-an-unexpected-error.aspx.
    Besides, based on this article(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ba78632y.aspx), the issue could be caused by unexpected data format and unexpected data source. Therefore, we should
    close and then restart Visual Studio.
    If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Opening file in a new tab/window

    Hi,
    I have a form (HTML added through a widget) and a number of images on one page. I want each image to be a link to a file, where the images will be seen full quality. however, doing this takes visitors away from the page instead of opening a new tab/window - then clicking back means that the form data is lost - i.e. tickboxes are no longer ticked, etc.
    I cannot use the photo viewing page included in iWeb, as the pictures will then overlap with my form because the enlarged images are loaded on the same page.
    I hope this makes sense, and if anyone could help with opening files in new tab/window it would be great, or a way of opening a photo viewing platform in a separate tab/window directly from a click of one of the photos. I have seen other sites - http://www.aroundthebusch.com/Folio/London%20to%20Istanbul.html
    (this is not mine) where the photo viewing "platform" is IDEAL. I would love something just like this if someone could advise.
    i do not want the photos to link to an external page (which can be opened in a new window) as it would mean me creating separate pages for each picture, and linking them all... no way!
    Also, it would obviously be preferable to be quick to set up, but also to change. I would need to have multiple pages of many photos, each with the viewing facilities so it could not take a long time to set up. I may also need to add/delete some photos, so if all the linking work was done automatically it would be fantastic.
    Any help much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance, James

    If you open it in javascript and specify a height/width or location it should open in a new window.
    window.open("http://www.adobe.com", "_blank", "toolbar=yes, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes, top=500, left=500, width=400, height=400");

    When machine is first started the program works, for about 10 mins, then
    I can not open files, create new ones. When it does work it can not perform functions like transform etc.
    I tried disabling third party plug ins
    I tried creating a new account on my machine

    There is a script running which Noscript lets me forbid, called akamaihd.net. It runs a script which is the same as in html when you highlight a word then attach a url to it.
    I don't know why I am seeing it but not others. FF and Chrome seem susceptible to it. It's not malware as usually thought of because no virus/malware program finds it here.
    Unfortunately, I have to forbid this script for every site I visit.
    In the other thread where your browser displayed an 'i.trkjmp.com' link which isn't really in the web page, I gave you a Google link for info about the problem. You said that it must be something else. Well, for months now, Chrome and Firefox users have been troubled by extensions which cause the 'i.trkjmp.com' problem. You might want to revisit the link I gave you.

  • Open file in a new window

    Hi All,
    I am adding a file item to a folder in a content area. The folder is published as a portlet on a page. Now when the user clicks on the file item, I want the file to open in a new window. I know its possible to do it when you add an URL item where there is a option where you can select the item to open in a new window. But in case of a file item, I did not find any way for openiging it in a new window. I would like to know how to open the file in a new window and if there is a workaround for the same.
    I am using portal version 30.6.6.5.
    Thanks
    null

    Here's a solution for Portal 3.0.8 or later that allows you to open a file in a new browser window. It requires that you create a custom item type, and use a procedure to display a link to the file.
    1. Create the following procedure. You can create it in any schema, but the schema has to have select privilege on the view 'WWSBR_ALL_ITEMS' in the portal schema. In this example, the portal schema is PORTAL30. If you're running version 3.0.8, you'll also need to apply the patch to bug 1724250.
    Create or Replace PROCEDURE OPEN_FILE (p_itemid IN NUMBER) as
    fileURL varchar2(1024);
    baseURL varchar2(256) := '/pls/portal30/docs/';
    begin
    select baseURL | | filename into fileURL
    from portal30.wwsbr_all_items
    where id = p_ItemId;
    htp.p ('Open File');
    EXCEPTION
    when NO_DATA_FOUND then
    htp.p('Document not found or access denied');
    when others then
    htp.p(sqlerrm);
    end;
    The procedure generates a link to the item filename with a target of "_blank", which opens the file in a new browser window. Replace the baseURL attribute value with the correct Database Access Descriptor (DAD) and Document Access Path ("/docs") for your site.
    2. Grant execute on the procedure to the portal public schema. The name of this schema is <portal schema>PUBLIC. So if your portal schema is PORTAL30, grant execute on the procedure to PORTAL30PUBLIC.
    3. Create a custom item type, using the base item type of "File". I recommend that you create the type in the Shared Objects content area, so it can be used in other content areas (from the Navigator, go to the Content Areas tab, select Contents for Shared Objects, Custom Types, and Item Types - Create). Edit the new type and go to the Procedures tab.
    4. In the Procedure Call Properties, enter:
    [list]
    [*]Type: PL/SQL
    [*]Procedure Call: <your procedure schema>.OPEN_FILE
    [*]Link Text: Open File (it doesn't matter what you put here - it only displays if "Display Procedure Results With Item" is unchecked.)
    [*]Check "Display Procedure Results With Item"
    [list]
    5. Under "Pass Attributes as Parameters", enter:
    [list]
    [*]Attribute: Item Id
    [*]Pass As: p_itemid
    [list]
    (Notice how you can pass most of an item's attributes to a procedure. You can take advantage of this feature to write procedures that give you precise control over the rendering of your items).
    6. In the properties for the content areas in which the new type is to be used, go to the Items tab. Specify that you want the new type to be visible. You may want to hide the base File item type, so users won't be confused by two different item types for files.
    7. Edit the folder style for the content area. Go to Folder Layout. Edit the region properties for each region in which you will be using the new item type. For each region, replace "Display Name or Image" with "Display Name". "Display Name or Image" will render the Display Name as a link to your file that opens the file in the same browser window. "Display Name" simply renders the display name as text, with no link.
    8. Now you can create items of the new item type. Each item's Display Name will appear next to a link that says "Open File". Clicking the link will cause the file to open in a new browser window.
    Hope you find this useful.

    Jerry

  • Open file in a new window thru custom global link

    Hi All,
    I have created a custom global link. I want to open a PDF file (present at OA_HTML) from that link.
    So, I created a function for that link having below properties:
    Web HTML : file_name.pdf
    Type: SSWA plsql function that opens a new window (Kiosk Mode)
    File is opening successfully but in the same window. I want to open that file in a new window.
    Please suggest some solution for this.

    I have created a blank page and write logic to download file in that.
    Later, on click on global link, navigated the same to that blank page. So, open save dialog is coming on click of custom global link.

  • IPod Shuffle Help - Cant open files on ipod (blank screen)

    I'm sure it's already been covered here, but I couldn't find anything that helped.
    I have a iPod shuffle, and iTunes recognises it but wants to re-format it (not my biggest problem), and Windows only partially recognises it.
    In My Computer it is listed as an iPod (E:), but when i open it, which it does, it displays a blank screen. It doesn't recognise any files in it AT ALL. But recognises how much free space i still have on my ipod. I can open my ipod files (Songs) on friends and school computers, just not mine.
    It just seems that i'm missing a file of some sort, which is able to read the files on my ipod shuffle, but i just don't no what it could be.
    I have tried every available solution, reinstalling iTunes/iPod, with no luck. I also just added service pack 2 for my windows xp pro and thought that would have solved my problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Have you tried syncing it again? There might be some error during the last sync.. If nothing's wrong, on the left panel, there's your iPod, click on the arrow beside the icon and there's everything..

  • Can't open files or create new files in photoshop CS6

    Urgent!
    Since I updated photoshop, when I click New or Open File photoshop behaves like I didn't click anything.
    But otherwise reacts to anything else I click on.
    What is wrong?

    Without system info or other details we can't tell you anything. Most likely this is a permissions issue where PS cannot access the templates for new documents or other configuration data nor may it be able to create its swap files. Look into that and verify your file permission as well as turn off security tools that may block this stuff. also run as admin to test.

  • Numbers -installed new version, now can't open files saved in new version - ???

    I said yes to upgrading a file to newer version, and now it says I need newer version to open that file. When I go to apps, it says the new version has already been installed. Any suggestions?

    Hi cretzlaff,
    If you check About Numbers (first items in the Numbers menu) when it fails to open a documents, I suspect you will find that it is Numbers 2.3 that is attempting to open the file.
    The instaler for the new version creates a new folder, names it iWork 09, places it in the Applications folder, and moves the existing iWork '09 applications into that folder. It does NOT delete them from your machine (and you should consider carefully before taking that step yourself).
    The new versions are then installed directly into the Applications Folder.
    Suggested actions:
    In Finder, open the Applications folder, locate Numbers.
    Select the icon for Numbers and drag it to the Dock to install an alias to the new version there.
    Note the differences between the icons for Numbers '09 and the new Numbers (one more bar, and different colours).
    (Repeat with Pages and Keynote, it you have also installed the new versions of those.)
    The new version of Numbers has several significant improvements, particularly in regard to compatibility with Numbers for iOS and Numbers for iCloud, but it has also lost several useful features that were present in the earlier version.
    You may want to keep both available, at least for now, and use whichever version has the features you need for a particular job.
    You can specify which version is to open a document by:
    right-clicking on its icon then choosing Open with > and the application you want to use
    dragging the document's icon to the Docked icon of the Numbers version you want to use and dropping it there.
    launching the application version and opening the document from the File > Open menu path
    Note that once opened by and saved from Numbers 3, a document cannot be opened by Numbers '09 unless it is exported from Numbers 3 in Numbers '09 format.

  • CP5 Button WIdget FILE Open problems

    Hi,
    I'm running CP5.  I want to have a button that exists on ALL slides, so I used the button widget.  I want it to open a file when clicked.  I keep getttnig "file does not exist errors".  Now I know the file exists because to test, I also put a regular button on slide 1 and had it open the same file, so the file is there and can be opened.  All other aspects of the button widget seem to work (open URL, go to next, etc), but I can't get the file open to work.  What am I missing here?
    Help....
    Thanks,
      Lori

    Are you pointing to another CP-file? You have to point to the cptx-file, not to the published SWF.
