Buttons out of order

For the past month or more, I have been creating my first iDVD project. It's a compilation of many iPhoto slideshows set to music, some quicktime videos, some "page flipping" slideshows of imported albums from iPhoto.
I worked on this project randomly and added, enhanced, etc. as I continued to learn what iDVD could do. Now I see that all my menu selection buttons are not in the order I wish and I read that I can't re-order the buttons.
There HAS to be some sort of work-around for this that someone has found. I really don't want to re-send everything to iDVD just to arrange the button selection order.
Would it work if I created a new sub-menu, move the buttons in the order I wish to the new menu and delete the original?

For earlier versions of iDVD there was a script called iDVD companion
http://www.apple.com/applescript/archive/idvd/companion.html
which did exactly what you want, but I cannot guarantee it is still available, or that it will work with Leopard.
It definitely worked with iDVD 6 on Tiger.

  • BLOG "previous" and "next" buttons out of order?

I have posted several blogs (some have future dates for upcoming events- I don't know if that messes thing up?)
I am having trouble figuring out why the "next" and "previous" buttons are not going in order by posted date (past, present.. future WHATEVER)
These are the steps I am taking:
    1) start at the home page
    2) select blog page (from the top)
    3) select any blog "read more"
    4) attempt to view "next" or even previous" blog
    5) PROBLEM - I am shot over to a random blog page
How do I command the "next" and "previous" buttons to go in some kind of logical order?

I have a problem where my next and previous buttons are not working sequentially. They sometimes jump to an entry way down teh archive or just jump back to the archive list
republish, changing options etc is not making any difference

  • How to create a "next" button out of image

    Hi all.
I'm new to Dreamweaver and have no idea what I'm doing!  I'm a designer and not familiar with code.
I've managed to get this far: I've created a teamplate and am using it successfully on subsequent pages.  My snag is that I want to create a "next" button out of an image.
One forum poster suggested taking page_1.html and page_2.html and inserting a link between them. I get this, but in order to do so, it seems I have to detach my individual pages from the template in order to directly edit them.  Can I then somehow reattach them to the template so that I can continue to make other changes on one page that will update throughout?
Any suggestions to a VERY green newbie that does not include copying and pasting code?  Is there a way to do this in design mode?
    thanks
    B.

    UPDATE:
Nancy and Jon - and all future searchers with this question, I have found the answers!!!
    Here goes:
MAKING A SIMPLE NEXT/PREVIOUS BUTTON OUT OF AN IMAGE IN DREAMWEAVER FOR THE CODE-RETARED DESIGNER:
    - Create a template which includes buttons for NEXT/PREVIOUS. The buttons should be sliced from a Photoshop file, or created using Div tags in Dreamweaver (see Tutvid.com for these tutorials - very good). The buttons should also be in their own separate Divs.
    - Select the individual Divs containing the buttons (one at a time), not the images themselves.
    - Go to Insert>Template Objects>Editable Region.
    - Give one Editable region the name of NEXT and the other editable region the name of PREVIOUS.
    - Save template file.
    - Go to page_1.html and now those buttons are selectable.  Choose the NEXT button and go to the properties panel and grab the little pick whip icon which is right beside the Link box. Drag and hold the pick whip onto your files panel and select page_2.html.  Do the same for each page.  From page_2.html onward, you also do this for the PREVIOUS button, only you select the page that comes before it, not the one after it.
    Viola!
I really hope this helps out all you code-challenged designers like me!  I've searched everywhere and lo and behold, it was as simple as this.
Thanks to you, Nancy, for twigging me into selecting the Div and not the graphic itself.

  • Macintosh HD can't be mounted, keys out of order and repairing can't be completed

    Hi,
English isn't my mother tongue so I'll make my best to be understood.
I have a Macbook Pro from 2012, running on Yosemite (latest version). I installed Onyx which told me my disk needed to be verified and repaired. Following this advice, I restarted my computer with Disk Utility and completed a verifying and repairing. Which led to a terrible outcome. Since then, everytime I boot with my user on my Mac, my computer shuts down in the middle of the progress bar. I tried to find an explanation to it and fix it, so I tried the following things:
    1) I booted with CMD + R to go into Disk Utility
    2) I runned a verify Disk on "Macintosh HD" Core Storage Logical Volume Disk, which didn't give me any error
    3) I unlocked "Macintosh HD" Mounted encrypted partition and runned a verify disk, which says :
    "Keys out of order
The volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.
File system check exit code is 8.
Error : the disk needs to be repaired, Repair disk."
    4) Unfortunately, the "repair disk" button is grayed.
    5) So I runned repair Disk on  "Macintosh HD" Core Storage Logical Volume Disk, which didn't give me any error.
    6) I tried to boot my computer again but it still shuts down when trying to open my user.
    7) Did all the same process again, but now the error is "Keys length incorrect" and repairing is now always blocked in the middle of the progress bar.
Is there any way I could extract the data I care about (photos, etc.) before erasing the disk or buying a new one?

    There's hardware and software.
Your drive could physically be in good condition but something has caused the file structure to be messed up (it just happens sometimes).  The directory that keep track of files is corrupt.  Disk Utility can help determine if that is the issue.  In some cases it can repair the problem but it cannot do it to a drive that is being used to boot the system while you are doing that.  You have to boot from another drive.  Some things DU cannot repair and you need to try a stronger utility such as Diskwarrior.
A failing hard drive (one with mechanical issues) can be a cause of file structure issues but this is by no means always the case.  Apart from looking at the SMART diagnosis feature of Disk Utility (and smart isn't totally reliable) there often isn't a way to tell if a drive is failing until it suddenly happens, which is why you need to maintain backups.
In your situation it does sound serious and not just minor directory corruption.  You can try erasing (formatting) the drive,  You may need to do this if it is really corrupt, in which case there could be underlying physical issues.  I use old technology but if you have the patience you can try erasing the drive with the security option of writing zeros once (don't do more unless you are going on a 3 week vacation).  This makes the drive not simply assume everything is okay by forcing it try every part of the drive by writing data.  If something is gong wrong you may find it marks a lot of bad sectors, or flat out refuses to format.  Then you know you need a new drive.

  • Import photos are out of order

I hope I can explain this so it makes sense.  I am trying to import photos from a compact flash card.  When they come into Lightroom they are out of order.  I have tried sorting them by all the different means in the drop down but still are not correct.  I notice that for some reason some of the photos show incorrect dates and that seems to be what is affecting the import.  Lightroom is putting the photos from the oldest date first.  I was able to load the pictures into a folder on the desktop and they are in the correct order just using the camera file names.  When I tried to load them from that folder into Lightroom, they went back to the incorrect order.  Is there a way to import without the metadata?  Is that what is fouling this up?  I don't know where these weird dates have come from but they are there and I can't get rid of them.
I am running Lightroom on an imac with OS 10.4.11 and this is the first I have run into this problem.  These photos are from an older camera, a Nikon Coolpix 885 and are my son's photos.  I normally import from my Canon camera using a compact flash with a reader  and have never had such a problem.  Here I am talking up Lightroom to my son about how easy it is to get the photos in and organize them and he is not buying it at this point.  Hopefully this makes sense and someone knows what is going on.
    Thanks

The date information is taken from the camera which writes it to the file. This needs to be set to the correct date and time in the camera itself.
The order the images are shown in the Library mode is set by clicking on the sort button in the tool bar, which if not showing can be activated from view, tool bar. There are different sort orders that can be applied including sorting by file name. You can also sort by dragging the images to the order you wish them to appear in by selecting user order.

If nothing there helps, try plugging it in with the adapter and picking it up in your left palm to the left of the trackpad and squeeze the case there between your palm and left thumb as you push the power button. Do not let up the pressure on the case. Continue applying this pressure as for several minutes in an attempt to start up. Does pressure on the case there allow it to start up?

  • Option key is out of order when I want to select a boot disk

    I've upgraded the OsX10.6.8.
after then, I can't boot by Bootcamp any more, because the Option key is out of order. I've tried it over 10 times. What's wrong?

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

  • Unrepairable: Keys out of order

    hi,
I have a MacBook Pro, a few months old, and just recently, it refused to boot. I was able to boot in single-user mode and run fsck -fy, but it gave the error "Keys out of order" and says the disk can not be repaired. I was able to boot from my install CD as well; running Disk Utility shows the hard disk as unmounted. if I click the "Mount Drive" button, the DU log says it was successful, but the disk remains grayed out. Tryign to repair the disk from DU returns the same "Keys out of order" error, and exits without repairing.
I seem to be able to start the MacBook in FW target disk mode, but it does not show up on the connected computer. Disk Utility on the connected computer gives the same behavior as from the install CD - MacBook disk is visible but grayed out, unmounted, and can not be repaired.
any suggestions? none of the repair programs work with the Intel-based Macs yet (TechTool Pro 4.5 is coming in early July, supposedly, with full support for the new architecture) - I don't like being without my MacBook for that long though. help?
    many thanks,
    tim d

I'll have to see if my warranty is still effective
Obviously, keep troubleshooting as you have been to see if you can repair the problem. But if your issue turns out to be a hardware problem, you are still covered. Your MacBook Pro has a one-year hardware warranty. (After 90 days, your free phone support for any issue under the sun expires - if you don't have an extended AppleCare Protection Plan - but you still have hardware warranty support and can call to get that support. More details are in this FAQ: Is phone support and warranty service free? and the links within the FAQ.)

  • Texts out of order; phone overheating; speaker issues

Hi, I am having four problems with my Galaxy S5 and wondered if anyone knew a solution: (1) My text messages come out of order.  This has happened since I got the phone, which is on network time. (2) My text messages are delayed - both sending and receiving.  They get to others late and they come to me late. (3) My phone frequently gets extremely hot and the battery drains rapidly.   From 95% to 15% in an hour or two. (4) When I am talking on the phone, the phone randomly switches to speakerphone so the person I am talking to comes out of the speaker.  The speaker button, however, is not activated.   Many thanks for any help!

Hi there! @BlueSkies84 thanks for posting your concerns. I’m sorry to hear about all the problems with your phone.
Since we are looking at multiple issues that cannot be controlled via the phone settings, I’d recommend you back your phone up and perform a factory reset. For steps on this please visit us at www.att.com/devicehowto/ and select the make and model of your phone. On the left column you’ll find steps to back up the phone under backup and restore and reset steps under troubleshooting and reset device.
    Hope this helps!
