Buttons will not respond

I've had my 5th gen iPod for a loong time and I've had the occasional issue, but nothing that a reset wouldn't fix.  I went to go use it today and the buttons will not respond.  No lighting up when I touch the wheel, no play, won't even let me reset it.  I've plugged it into the charger, hooked it to the computer and restored it.  Nada. Zip. Zilch.
Any suggestions or links to other threads with fixes?

ideas?

I receive messages on my iPad, but I cannot send a reply. The send button will not respond to my touch.

It's not that you can't use the subject field, but it is very unreliable when I try to use it. Sometimes the message send button will work and sometimes it won't.
But the biggest reason to turn it off is so that you do not accidentally type your message in the subject field. You can type a subject in that field, but you still have to type the actual message in the space below the subject field.

  • HT4097 Terms and Conditions button will not respond after recovery and restore of ipad

I have recovered and restored my ipad, set up wifi, discovery etc, moved to Terms and Conditions and can get no further.  Agree and disagree buttons appear but will not function.  I can go back so it isnt a frozen screen.  I have scrolled through all T&Cs and even emailed them.  Still stumped.  PLease Heeeellllllpppppp!!!

Thanks for the suggestion.  Had tried that, and just did again.  Still the same.  Have tried plugging it in to itunes as suggested elsewhere - Agree button still will not respond.  Went on to itunes to download an app - wasnt asked to agree to conditions.  I just don't get it......

  • Can only choose attachments one at a time for webmail and for entries to an art organization website.  And the site's "Upload File" button will not respond, so I can't even upload the one jpg I have chosen.

I am the only one who can't upload to the submissions page. Javascript is turned on, not java, with Safari 5.0.6 and Leopard. Thanks for helping.

Thanks for your response.  I do have javascript turned on (not java).  To answer your question,
I was trying to upload 3 jpgs to the submissions page of a visual arts website. I could only highlight one jpg at a time in the "Choose File" option, and then the "Upload File" button of the submissions page would not respond.
It's an ongoing problem with this site (I'm the only one with this issue and there are a lot of submissions). I have to send the images as email attachements to the administrator of the site.  When doing this via webmail, I still the one attachment at a time problem, but the images get to the administrator.  Thanks for helping.

  • Suddenly, the power/sleep button will not respond

I can't put the iPod touch into sleep mode, or shut it off by holding the power button.
I've reset by holding power and home buttons, as well as reset all settings on the touch itself via the menu.
    Any ideas?

yes the replacement will cover dead/stuck pixels as long it is within the 14 day return period. Even if it is not it is worth going to an apple store and talkin to them about it. You may get a replacement anyway.
As far as the main question you may just have a defective Ipod. It sounds to me like a hardware problem. If you have tried resetting via the iPod itself as well as tried restoring via iTunes then theres not much else you can do to fix a problem like that. You may just need to return it to where you got it from and request a replacement/repair.

  • On iPad, control center won't work;  music buttons do not respond AT ALL.  What can I do?

I have an iPad 3, and the control center is giving me a hard time, both, within app access and on lock screen and it's only the music controls in particular; play, next, and previous buttons will not respond at all. Anyone having the same issues? If so, any suggestions to work this out? I already tried turning off and on, form control center settings.

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

My iPod classic (2007) 80 GB FROZEN SCREEN (Now Playing window showing the song that is suppose to be playing, will not respond to buttons, Will not SYNC, iTunes does not recognize it AT ALL when I plug it in. Will not shut off, will not charge... pretty frustrated, I updated it recently (within the last 10 days....Has anyone had similar experience? If so was it fixed? Please post any help for me... thank you... I am pretty frustrated right now.

its fixed!!  After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search.  'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working.  Hope this helps others.

  • Imac 27" Intel Core 7 CPU. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware scan and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back

Imac 27" Intel Core7  CPU 16 Gig RAM. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware diagnostic and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back to Mountain Lion but problem remains. Apple Store can do no more.

I did some more digging, it appears to be a backlight problem only. I can see the screen very dimly if I use a bright flashlight in a very dark room. It also seems to run ok if the brightness is turned down a LOT.
So I'm thinking this is a LED driver board issue or the display itself. I'll open it up and check the connection between the two and see if I can get any more clues. At least I can use it somewhat now by dimming the display significantly...

My ipad has locked-up, it has frozen while running an app, and will not respond to any button,  what do I do?
It simply stays on the same screen image, and does not respond to anything.  When I plug it into itunes, there is no indication of its presence.
The ipad's clock has also stopped.

    Try a reset:

Delete some apps, files, photos, videos, movies, etc to free up some space.

How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
