Buy an iMac with the seller's password
Hi,
End of 2011, I bought an iMac 27".
I sold it the past year, september 2013, at my father's coworker.
Anyway, I thought I removed everything from this iMac before she took it, but it seems like my apple account is still stuck in there.
She wants me to put my apple password inside the computer for upgrade some software, but I'm feel really not comfortable with that since there is all my informations (bank account, iCloud...).
How can she just change the information of the computer ? To put in HER apple account ? At some point, I probably will have to put my password (It could be a stolen computer) but after, how she could change the session permanently with her account ?

That's not possible. Apps purchased on the Mac App Store are not transferrable. The bundled iLife programs, iPhoto, iMovie, etc., are not transferrable. You should have wiped the Mac clean and reinstalled the original OS before selling.

<Edited by Host>The iPhone has Activation Lock and will require you to have the previous owner's Apple ID and password or you'll need to get the previous owner to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:

If you can't reach the previous owner or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPhone for a refund if you can.

is there any obvious benefit to buying my imac from the apple store vs. Best Buy? Saves $40 so I am contemplating not haggling with crowds at Apple Store. Any thoughts?
Return policy may be different from Apple's vs Best Buy. Regardless of crowds, only buy from Apple. Dealing with Best Buy in the future, if there's a problem it may not be worth what you believe to be a $40 savings.

You would have to buy it separately. Refurbished machines are sold as they were originally configured so you cannot customize the machine when you order it.

Yes you will.
I believe if you'd bought one before the release of Lion you'd also get a free upgrade from Snow Leopard (or at least this used to be the case for people that bought a Leopard machine the month before Snow Leopard came out). -
how do i uninstall iphoto? it was preinstalled on my macbook pro when I bought it used and I can only update with the previous owners password.
Do you have the current MacOS X version 10.10.2?
Then you can simply move iPhoto from the Applications folder to the Trash,
sign into the App Store with your own AppleID
reload the "Featured" main page of the AppStore with ⌘R,
then download iPhoto with your own AppleID.
Make a backup of your iPhoto Library, before your launch the new iPhoto the first time,
If your current system is not Yosemite, you can only buy a boxed iLife 11 version of iPhoto to install it independent of the previous owner. -

You will need to check with your Local Apple Store or Apple Retailer.
If Apple is not willing to work out a monthly cash payment plan based on credit or the lack of, then perhaps BestBuy, Fry's or others will?

Using an iMac with the iPhoto application. When trying to email a photo, the message appears to be sent. However, a popup box requests the Yahoo password. When entered, an error message occurs.
Is there a way to set the Yahoo! email username?
Firefox is set to Yahoo! mail.doesn't yahoo mail need a plus service to be used in such POP applications??

MacBook Pro to my iMac with the firewire it makes me enter the Key product code for Office:Mac2011
When I connect my MacBook Pro to my iMac with the firewire to use as a monitor it makes me enter the Key producy code for Office:Mac 2011 every time.
Then when I disconnect my MacBook I have to enter the product key again to use office on it???

I have almost 10,000 songs/cuts in my music collection and, because of the poor quality of iTunes music, very few of those songs/cuts come from iTunes. My music came from me ripping it disc by disc over hundreds of hours. I would like to be able to add a disc and have both the iMac AND the MacBook music files (plus an external backup) be updated. Surely there is an intelligent, relatively easy to implement procedure for doing this. Perhaps I am missing something but your response doesn't seem to address the sync issue with all its implications... -
ı have bought second hand ipad. 17 apps which were downloaded by previous user with his or her apple id are waiting to be updated. I need to update them but when I try, ı can't update them with my own apple id. Device ask me to update with the id and password of previous user. I tried I forgot but this didn't work. So how can ı have my device forget the previous ID and use my own to update exsisting apps.

When I do "Enter Full Screen", the slide show fills the screen but the photo itself remains in the middle with a wide black border filling the rest.

In iDVD Preferences - Turn off - TV-Safe area - and the Photos will fill the full area with just letterboxing or pillars as max.
Then "Save as a DiskImage" and test this and see if this plays better - before burning DVDs that's not as You want them.

When I print a 4x6 color picture using an iMac with the latest operating system using a Canon MX892 printer, faint black lines appear every 3/16 of an inch. When I print the same picture using iPhoto there is no problem. Any suggestions?
What is the resolution of the picture that you are trying to print?
Go to Image>resize>image size, read the resolution in px/in, then report back, please.
Also, are you in a position to try printing with another printer in an attempt to narrow this down? -
IMac with the NVidia 8800 option -- How noisy/quiet is it ?

I have a PC with Vista, and I am just about to pull the trigger and get an iMac.
Noise is very important to me, and I am wondering if I should choose the NVidia option because of the noise. I am planning on running XPlane on this computer, and I know it will run better with the NVidia card.
Does anybody have an iMac with the NVidia card ? What's the difference in terms of noise with the ATI option ?

I wish I could say I was 100% happy with this iMac, but unfortunately, this isn't so.
While the original topic, the sound level, is just as we talked, as soon as you start pushing this NVIDIA graphic card, it causes the computer to crash. It's actually worse than what I was experiencing with Vista. Everytime it crashes, it has some funny badly rendered graphic on the screen, and just totally lock up on me. Sometimes it's so bad, I can't even ssh to the machine. Although I can't say for sure, it looks like the problem comes from the NVIDIA graphic card.
Truth to be told, I use a lot of graphic intensive applications like VmWare Fusion and iPhotos, but that's what it's supposed to be for!!!
I have to reboot the iMac every day almost. A real shame.
