Buy an older version of motion

My early 2008 Macbook is incompatible with the current version of Motion. Is there any way I could buy an older verison of Motion like Motion 4 or 3?

When last I checked, FCS was selling at a substantial premium – presumably because of scarcity value.
Not to tell anyone what to do, but in your situation, as much as I'm a fan of FCS, I might consider investing in more recent hardware, rather than put >$1200 into an EOL software suite.
Whatever you decide, good luck.

I updated my OS from 10.6.4., to 10.8.2.  I want to buy iDVD and iMovie, but I bought iPhoto and can't get it to work yet.  I'm hesitant to buy the others without now having the original applications on my laptop. Do I need to buy the older versions first?  They are probably on my Snow Leopard install disc, but I am now running Mt Lion that I bought, and downloaded a few days ago...so I don't want to insert the old OS disc, thinking it might want to reinstall the old OS...  Thanks,

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can I buy an older version of Captivate?

Our customer uses Adobe Captivate 5.  We would like to be able to work on the same files with them, so that means we would also have to have Captivate 5.  Is it possible to buy this older version, or buy a subscription?
    Thank you.
      Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
Yes, we can provide you older version of Captivate 5, however you need to purchase the current version of Captivate with Volume license(Pricing are same) and then we will provide you Serial number for Captivate 5. This is what we called backward licensing. If you need any information, please send your contact detials @ [email protected]
    Thanks

  • Can I buy and older version of Indesign

    Hi
The latest version of Indesign is to expensive for me. Could I buy an older version somewhere?
    Thanks for your response
    Elisabeth

You can try Amazon or other third party retailers - but be sure to check they are a valid Adobe retailer as there are scam sites out there.
Also - if you're a student you can get the Student and Teacher Price which is a lot cheaper than the full version, however the EULA stipulates different uses for commercial and private use depending on your locale - check the EULA before purchasing if you intend to use it commercially.
InDesign Creative Cloud is also available - it's a pay per month or an annual subscription.
And you don't have to get the entire suite you can get just InDesign for a small fee for a month, or subscribe for a small fee for the year.

  • I need to buy an older version mac to run OS9

I need to buy an older version mac to run OS9 for a program,
What would be a good option?
    Thanks

Perhaps the PowerBook G4 (1GHz or 867MHz) model portable Mac, which appears
to have similar OS 9.2 and OS X 10 support as some Quicksilver towers, to a degree.
    M8858LL/A (867 MHz) or M8859LL/A (1.0 GHz) later: Mac OS X 10.2.3 and Mac OS 9.2.2
The towers are superior; upgradeable in hard drives, optical drives, RAM & Graphics.
These can do more, and with separate hard drives, they can support several OSs.
OS X 10.5.8 and Before, and Classic with OS X 10.4.11; and boot OS 9.2.2 with the
original install software shipped with the computer.
For comparing specifications and update information, see http://everymac.com and/or
get information (download database) from http://mactracker.ca and there was some
information in Apple Support hardware specifications for older computer models.
Some resellers specialize in vintage computers and a few better companies repair
them for a living; so they can offer a limited guaranty and offer better goods. I've
heard good reports on http://wegenermedia.com about their service & inventory; as
an authorized service agent, they also can repair newer hardware under warranty.
{However, be sure the computer you want has the correct original software discs
included with the sale, if you hope to run OS9.2.2 and OS X 10.2 or later, in it.
    The software is very hard to find separately, and many sellers do not include it.}
Maybe a portable Mac can be located to perform the tasks you need, but the ideal
could be a tower computer; for overall value of cost vs. benefit, by the numbers...
But that may be a personal call, and not necessarily objective.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Buying an older version of Dreamweaver

Hello, I would like to buy Dreamweaver CS 5 or 5.5 for Mac. As it is an older version, how do I go about doing this? Does it cost less than the newer versions? How much does it cost? Where can I buy it? Regards, Jane

Thanks for your reply. I am used to CS5 and having just bought a Mac I
thought it would be easier for me to just continue with the same thing as
the Dreamweavers seem to become more and more complex for an ordinary
person like myself. But mostly I was hoping an older version wouldn't cost
as much because the price is very steep for me.

  • Is there any chance to buy an older version of cs?

Hi, i want to ask about the older versions of CS? Is there any chance to get them, buy them?
    Daniel

Not thru Adobe.  You might be able to search/find a third party vendor though you are buying at your own risk.

  • If I buy an older version iPad2, can I get iCloud?

Airmiles has the iPad2 available but it does not say iCloud or iOS5 so I am assuming it is the older version.  I know you can get the iOS5 update but can you also get iCloud?

You will be fine. You will be able to update to iOS5 once you plug into iTunes. Also, there is no such thing as an "older" iPad 2 as it is the latest itteration.

  • How can I buy an older version of iwork for my macbook?

I am thinking about buying a new macbook pro as my current macbook is approaching 7 years ol.  I replace the hard drive in January to 640gb and upgraded the ram to maximum possible of 4ghz.  I was running an old version of MS Office for Mac 2004 which was not great and I figured i would try using the mac versions before spending nearly £2k on a new machine.  But I can't seem to buy it on the store because I apparently need to have OSx 1.7 or higher and I am running 10.6.  Any ideas?

Upgrade Office to Office 2011 for OS X. You can download a trial at www.mactopia.com. Old versions of iWork boxed sets can be found searching Amazon, eBay, or Google.
Office 2004 and Other Applications Don't Work in Lion/Mountain Lion
If you have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite, it will not work in Lion/Mountain Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion.
You may want to consider as well:
These two suites are similar to Libre Office but not as current or as well-supported:
    NeoOffice
    Open Office
And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
    Keynote - presentation
    Numbers - spreadsheet
Each can open and save Office compatible files. They may be purchased separately via the Mac App Store for $19.99 each.
As for other software, any PPC-based software will not run in Lion or Mountain Lion because Rosetta is no longer part of OS X. You will need to upgrade to Intel versions of the software.
(Access to the Mac App Store requires Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher and an Apple ID.)

  • Where can I get an older version of iPhoto for an older reconditioned Macbook?

I have reconditioned Macbook 13" that is 5-6 yrs old-no iPhoto on it. How do I get a copy that works with Snow Leopard? It never came with iPhoto and I have no disks anyway. It came with Leopard which I then updated by purchase. The version I have is 10.6.8. I assume that's as far as it goes since my Software Updater would have prompted me otherwise. My memory is also updated to 4GB.
It can't be updated to Mountain Lion which I have no problem with. I just want to get iPhoto on it because my iPhone has no memory left and I want to move some  photos to my Mac system now. (and eventually I want to backup my photos as well that's another whole question). So I need the use of my computer system for all of this and my Macbook only has Preview to view pictures in. I can't install the current iPhoto and can't seem to locate where I can buy an older version that is compatible with my older system.
    Thanks.

The App Store version of iLife ‘11 programs will only work with 10.7 or 10.8. You can get the iLife ’11 DVD which will run on 10.6  on eBay fairly cheap.

  • Older version of iLife on new iMac

I will be updating to a new iMac but need iWeb.  It has previously been recommended to buy an older version of iLife on eg. Ebay but I was wondering how that would work.  Would I have 2 versions of iLife running or would the older version of iLife replace the one preinstalled?
    Thanks

I don't know about newer Macs and iLife but I think the various components are more or less stand alone.  In other words you can run iWeb and iDVD from an older version next to iPhoto and whatever of a new version.  I strongly suspect the installer will let you customize what is installed and you can just select the iLife components that were removed in later versions. Still, it would be a good idea to back up your computer first just in case there is some shared library component and the installation had undesirable results.

  • Are older versions of flash an option?

I am interested in buying  flash however even with the discount given to students as a program it is still a large investment. I was wondering if I am able to buy an older version for example "Flash 8" at a reduced price from adobe or another trusted retailer I know the newer version have updated the program alot but many of the new features will be unused by me and the older version would suit my needs better.
I have tried contacting adobe but with no answer within 2 weeks so thought I would try here.

If Adobe sales hasn't responded, chances are they do not sell the older versions any longer.  I'm pretty sure they do not provide tech support for them, so not selling them would make sense.  If you can find older versions for sale, I doubt you'll get any kind of recommendation from anyone except those selling it that they are a reliable seller.

  • My macbook is 10.6.8  but then I can't find the imovie. Where can I download the older version of imovie which is compatible with my macbook 3,1?

Where can I download/ buy a older version of imovie?

Try rebuilding your iPhoto library >  iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library

Highly unlikely that it says any such thing.
Try telling us exactly what version of iTunes is installed and what if any messages appears when trying to update it.
What Operating System is the computer running?
