Buy App while in another country?

I have seen numerous posts about trying to change stores, etc., but I haven't seen an answer to this:
If you have an Apple ID and it is linked to the US store, what do you do when you are travelling the globe and are phyiscally in another country?  Can you not just accept the message that says you can only buy in the US store and till get a free Google App or whatever downloaded to your phone?
We are SOOOO frustrated with this.  We have sveral iPhones, iPads, Airbooks, etc etc etc.  We have numerous homes around the world and a yacht and constantly are moving back and forth through Europe, the US and elsewhere.  We are hardly going to go open bank accounts in every country on the planet and our credit cards are used everywhere in the world.
How on earth are we supposed to be in the UK or France or Portugal or Russia and be able to download a FREE app for something like Google when we need it if we are constantly told we can only buy in the US store or whatever that Apple ID is linked to?  Why can't we say 'sure buy from the USA we don't care about the VAT or the exchange rate or whatever", we need the app at the moment!
There must be a work around for this, esp for free apps that aren't buying anything!
Is there an answer to this?
Thanks!

when we need it if we are constantly told we can only buy in the US store or whatever that Apple ID is linked to?
That is correct.

I have 0,3€ credits. How can remove them so that I can change to the app store of another country? I need to change to the Chinese app store as the apps I am looking for can be only found there. Thanks for all answer in advance!

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff to zero your account balance. Note that if you're not in China, you won't be able to use the Chinese App Store.

Will I be able to update apps purchased in another country's App Store?

I already have this mess. No you will not. Unless you change back to the country that you bought the app from. Oh, but then you run into the problem that you need a valid address and payment method from that country.
So no, if you move to another country, Apple will steal all your apps.

  • TS1702 Change from one country App Store to another country

How doe one change from one country App Store to another country ????

When I try to change my country in the Account section of the App Store (and the ITunes Store)  I receive the message "You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores."
I am unable to understand the reason for this and can't find a way around this. The amount of credit remaining in my account is less than the price of any App or Song.
I am also concerned after reading other threads that if I change countries, whether the Apps purchased in one country will still be available in the new country.
Some have proposed using credit cards to change the country for the account, but  accounts funded through vouchers exclusively should be able to be able to change countries without this requirements.
Thanks in advance for any solutions or comments.

  • Can I update apps purchased in another country

Hi. I live in Japan and I've purchased the some iPhone and Mac apps in the Japanese iTunes App Store. Now I am moving to Brazil and I want to keep the same Apple user id, but my billing info will change, so I won't be able to use the Japanese iTunes store anymore. I should be able to access the Brazilian store instead, because the country of my billing info will change. Even free updates are considered "buying" so I am concerned I might not be able to update my apps because updates need to happen in the store of the country where you originally purchased the app.
Can I update in the Brazilian store an app purchased in the Japanese store? Any tips or suggestions?

  • Buying music credit in another country

i have a family member living in another country in europe and i would like to buy him some music credit, is it possible/will it work in his country??
Message Edited by renrut04 on 19-Apr-2009 12:07 PM

The credit is usually valid only on the country where the account is held, not across all Nokia music stores. To buy credit online for your relative, you'd have to log into their account and make the purchase since the credit is automatically assigned to the account.
One thing that might work, depending how co-operative Nokia customer services are in your country, it to buy credit against your account and then ask them to adjust credit of yours and your friends account? For example, if you buy 50€of credit, they might be willing to reduce your account by 50€and add the 50€ onto the account of your relative. All music store credit is valid for one year, after which ytou get an e-mail telling you to call them to get your account recredited for the expired amoint, so it stands to reason that the can adjust credit figures.

  • Buy a song from another country's itunes

I'm an American currently in Australia and I would like to buy a song that is not offered in the US itunes store but is for the Australian itunes store. I am trying to download it but itunes says it is unavailable to me. I am in Australia, so why can't I buy it from the Australian store? What can I do to fix this?
    Thanks

I only want one song so if I were to buy an itunes gift card here in Australia, when I return to the US I wouldn't be able to use it in the US itunes store?
Correct. Your credit balance would not be transferrable to another country's iTunes Store, and you would not (by the terms of use) be able to continue to use the Australian iTunes Store. So it's probably not practical for a single song. Either get someone with an Australian iTunes Store account to gift you the song, or pick it up on CD (which is expensive for a single song, but less expensive than buying an entire gift card for just one track).

  • Can't buy apps from my own country?

I tried to by an app from my own country and it just says I can't and should contact support, the support then says I can't buy apps from Sweden..but I'm in sweden, got swedish adress and all.. and then they couldn't give more information... anyone got any ideas? Can I delete my appel Id and create a new one? think this one was created in UK.. how do I check if there's anything I have missed to changes? pls help

You need to sogn into the account and then view the account. In the account details is an area to change the country or region for which the account is registered. Change the UK info to the Swedish info and you should be good to go.

  • Switching to app store in another country with credit on balance and no possibility to spend it

I am based in Kazakhstan at the moment, but I used to live in the UK for some time, so I used to buy apps on the UK app store. My account shows that I still have 10,26 GBP on my account but I can't use them as when I try to buy something on the app store it says that I have to switch to the UK app store. At the same time when I try to switch to the UK app store on my account in country settings it is said that I cannot change my store until I finish my balance. But how should I spend it if the store doesn't sell me anything as I'm not in the UK?
I will be grateful for any help

  • Why can't I access my home country App Store while in another country?

I've noticed that since the last iOS update that the new App Store will not let me download updates.  The apps were purchased using the Canadian App Store. Some purchases were made while I was physically in Canada. Others were made while traveling. I'm in China right now, and the App Store has started to reject my attempts to install updates. The system tells me that I cannot access the Canadian  app store from China. This used to work in iOS5, what has changed?

Apps can only be updated from the same country in which they were purchased.
You will have to re purchase the apps.
Keep in mind, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • How do I deal with flat out lie in an app review in another country?

I just found out how to see reviews from other countries. So I picked Canada first and looked at one of my apps. There is one review - 1 star. The person claims I stole pictures from Flickr and used them in my app. This is flat out untrue.
I have one image in my app and I took it myself while on vacation, ironically while in Canada.
Since I live in the USA I can't log into the Canadian store and "Report A Concern" with the review.
Any idea on how to resolve this?
Anyone in Canada care to post a counter "review" clearing up the situation for me?
    Ugh.

To answer the general point rather than the specific question: this is a very good example why it's better not to read one's reviews! As we all know, the only qualification for writing a review is having a credit card with a billing address in the country in question. Anyone who uses the App Store will quite quickly realise that (a) the quality of the reviews is variable and (b) if someone genuinely had an issue of this type then he'd communicate directly with the publisher or with Apple rather than posting a pathetic one-star whinge.
In general I think we might all benefit if we all, as App Store developers, said something like the following in our product descriptions:
    1. We do not read or comment on our App Store reviews.
    2. We provide a public space where you can post comments and support requests, at http://xxxxxxxxxxx. We read every posting and respond to it in public.
This will not stop nutters from posting weird reviews, but it will make the readers of those reviews think: "if this is a problem, why didn't he post it in the publisher's comment space?" and consequently pay less attention to what the nutters say.
To focus a little closer in to this particular case: it's worth remembering that we are not politicians. Politicians are always anxious that any error or misrepresentation should be corrected "for the record". It seems comic sometimes but for them it's necessary, or someone will dig it out years later and say "well, if it isn't true that you said/did/thought this, +why didn't you say so at the time?"+ But we aren't politicians, and it's a lot easier for us just to leave a lot of stuff alone as being beneath contempt. I've also had reviews that claim the exact opposite of the truth (I know because people have told me about them) but in the end they're best ignored.
The review in question is pretty innocuous commercially, I don't think it would make anyone less likely to buy the application.
As for your own reputation: if you don't like Apple publishing accusations of theft against you, there is a law of libel and it is there for this purpose. Use it. Get the address of Apple's legal department and write to them. Invite them very politely to take down the offending material or publish a rebuttal. It will cost them a lot more to defend the case than it will to take down the review. I once found some stolen IP being offered through an Apple online store, and after a friendly conversation with Apple and one email, it was taken down within days.

  • Problems buying apps in a new country

I really hope someone on the community can help me with this.
I have had an apple account in the UK for a long time but have never purchased anything on it.
I have now moved to Singapore a bought a brand new ipad mini and linked my apple account to it. I am trying to buy an app off the store but I keep getting an error message saying that my account is not valid in Singapore and I will be switched back to the UK one. Here are the errors I get:
    1. I go to the Ipad click general-my apple ID-view Apple ID-country/region
I change it from the UK to Singapore and update my billing information but after I do this it just goes back to the UK country/region without any message or warning
    2. In itunes I change my location to Singapore but then it just signs me out and reverts back to the UK store.
Someone please help if you have a solution to this as right now I can't buy any apps at all unless I change my apple ID altogether which would be really annoying as its linked to my gmail.
    Thanks!

  • How do I use my account wit app.store in another country?

I made my account with app.store in India, now I am in Belgium and I wants to download some programmes from Belgium app.store but every time I get the message that " your account is not valid for Belgium store, you must switch to indian store befor purchasing" I don't know what to do and how to solve this.

You need to  change your account to the  Belgian store. Sign into your account in the iTunes app and view your account details using the account link in the Quick Links on the right side of the Featured pane. There is a section in the  account details for Region/Country. In order to change to the Belgium store you must provide a verifiable bank card from a Belgium bank with a verifiable billing address in Belgium.

If yor are needing to change your iTunes country on your iPad:
