  • Do apple have a buy back used iphone program

    Hi Guys or Ladies
Do anyone know if Apple Store has any program regarding of buying or trading in second iphone
    thank you

I recall when we went to an Apple Store last December about a new phone the person mentioned getting some sort of trade-in value depending upon the phone, but since our phone was a 4S with a broken external speaker we probably would not have gotten much and it could still serve as an iPod. However, this is may not have been from Apple itself but instead from AT&T with whom we were planning on using the phone even though it was an Apple Store salesperson who mentioned it (and to be honest they do not always have correct information).

Hi I want to buy an unlocked iPhone 5 in the Middle East. I want to know if I will be able to use my iPhone and all its applications when we go back to live in the US for long term.
    Thank you

Apple Online Store sells unlocked iPhone in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium (French, Dutch), Brazil, Canada (English, French), China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong (English, Chinese), Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (French, German), Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States.
You can probably be absolutely sure any other source will be carrier locked
It also appears that only Zain offer unlocking (of all the ME carriers )  in Jordan and Bahrain
A ME iPhone 5  ( A1429 GSM )will not  work on US LTE when you return

  • If I buy an unlocked iphone 6 in the uk and have a uk sim card in it initially, will i be able to use my german sim card in it when i'm in germany and return back to my UK sim card on my return?

If I buy an unlocked iphone 6 in the uk and have a uk sim card in it initially, will i be able to use my german sim card in it when i'm in germany and return back to my UK sim card on my return?

Yes. But make sure you buy it at an Apple Store. Other stores selling SIM free iPhones will sell those that will usually lock to the carrier whose SIM is used to first activate the phone. Then you will be stuck.

  • IPhone buy back programs

Does anyone know of any in-store iPhone buy back programs? I have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3GS, and I'd like to see if I can get any money for them before I junk them or give them away to friends/family.
I called AT&T today to say i had just received my iPhone 5 friday and wanted to sell back my old ones. They gave me a ball park of $50-$80 for the 3GS and $120 and up for the 4. He said I could receive cash, in-store credit, or immediately put it towards a new phone. So I got in my car and drove 30 min to the closest AT&T. When I got there she quoted the 3GS at $60 and the 4 at about $135. "Deal, I'll just take the cash", I said. She told me they don't offer cash for iPhones, so I frustratedly and hesitantly told her to just apply the value to my bill. At least I get about 2 months free service right? Wrong. She said the only thing she could give me was an in-store credit for a phone or accessories. I explained to her that I just spoke to someone on the phone at their location and he said cash. She then asked me if she should go ahead and return them for credit. I said no and angrily described to her that I don't need a second iPhone 5, nor do I need a $190 gift card to spend on their huge selection of about 2 total iPhone 5 accessories. I thanked her for one of their employees wasting an hour of my time, and I left.
Has anyone had better luck anywhere else? I'd rather do it in-store so I can be given a value up front, instead of mailing it in on a quote, and then receiving far less in the long run based on someone's opinion of normal wear and tare.

I second the Gazelle option. It couldn't be any easier.  Yeah, you'll get more on Ebay or Craigslist, but I like the no hassle approach on Gazelle.  You choose your phone, select the condition, print a label, and ship it to them.  A few days later, you'll have money in your PayPal account.  You can also get an Amazon gift card or they'll send you a check.  If you don't have a box, they'll ship you one (postage already prepaid).

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.  Everything should be on your computer.  The iphone simply allows your computers info to be portable.

  • If I buy a new iPhone can I go back to IOS 6.0?

I would be happy to buy I new iPhone if I could get rid of IOS  7.
I upgraded mine, now mine is just trash. I don't want to buy someone elses, but I don't want IOS 7.
If I buy a brand new phone from Apple would it come with IOS 6 or 7?

That's right. The 4S is still in production. Unless you can find one that's been on the shelf for quite some time, it will come with iOS 7. The longer you wait, the less likely it becomes that you would be able to find one with iOS 6.

  • How can I make my guardians buy me an iPhone 5?

    Hey, Apple forum people.
Maybe you guys can help me with my problem/question today?
Well, I am thirteen years of age, and I'm very addicted to Apple products (I currently have a iPod touch and iPad)
Now, my birthday is in November, and I will be 14 years old.
Well, a few weeks ago, I went to the Apple store, locally.
I just fell in love. With every worker with their blue t-shirt on with the Apple logo.
I played with the iPad mini, iMac, Macbook Air, and the iPhone of course.
I just literally fell in love with touching all of the devices. I didn't get around to the iPod touch or Macbook Pro.
And, I do want the iPhone 5. Because mostly all teens are getting iPhones.
One thing about the iPhone, that is not letting me get it, is because my sister says I don't talk on the phone that much, but neither does she!
I currently don't have any phone, except a Straight Talk phone which I never use.
I mostly my iMessage and Pinger to text my friends.
So, I keep asking them for an iPhone.
I don't even care if I get the iPhone 4.
I just want one! But I mostly want something with Siri, and that narrows out the iPhone 4.
But lately, I've being lying a lot.
    They mostly forgive me though.
So, is there any tips I could get to try to make them give me the iPhone 5?
It would be nice to go into school right after my birthday with the iPhone 5 in my back pocket.
Thanks for any advice that you have!

"How can I make my guardians"
Wow, that just sets the tone of this post. Make them? Are you serious? How about getting off your whiny little arse and getting a job, perhaps mowing lawns, washing cars, cleaning gutters, etc. then use that money to but it yourself, or show them how hard thou worked and perhaps they will help chip in for it
Yeah, I'm sure if I had some snot nosed lying kid I had to take care of, I would want to rush right out and buy him an iPhone 5.

  • HT1212 I have shattered my iphone 4s screen and cannot backup all the data through itunes because it is asking me to unlock it. I do not wish to repair the screen as I'd rather buy a new iphone, but I need the photos and contacts. How do I perform a backu

    P.S.
I feel as though I am forced into repairing the iphone before I can backup the information (photos, videos, contacts). If the apple ID on the device is the same as the one on my iMac I do not understand why I have to unlock the iphone by typing in the 4 digit passcode. This is a little ******** as having the screen break seems to be the usual prpblem with the iphone, I want to be able to backup my files when I feel the obvious need to do so (eg. when it breaks)! I also believe I shouldn't have to use other apps for backing it up (which I obviously have to pay for).. I am rather angry with this issue.

Okay folkes, you were right and I was wrong.. I admit it. But I was pretty mad though when I tryed to backup the last few contacts I needed for work and couldn't do so. Worst things are when something gets broken (by me or whatever) when there is an emergency. I needed the contacts off of that phone real fast and couldn't do it, thats what got me real mad. And btw I am a Russian living in Moscow and instead of having an official Apple store we have shopes called ReStore who resell apple devices with ridiculous prices, same thing with the repairs. It is cheaper to sometimes buy a new iphone then repair an old one.. So there.. but I repaired it and now happy again with my apple device.. Also I know the itunes and icloud are free and I do back it up, this time however I couldn't use them and had to try the iphone extractor app, which is not free. There.. Thanks for the attention every1

  • Where can i buy a refurbished iphone

Where can i buy a refurbished iphone ?  Does apple sell them?

No idea but these are the precautions you should take if you find one
When purchasing an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from someone other than Apple or an authorized Apple reseller, it is up to you to ensure that the device has been erased and is no longer linked to the previous owner’s account.  Follow each of these steps to make sure that you can use the device you purchase:
Turn the device on and slide to unlock. If the passcode lock screen or the home screen appears, the device has not been erased.
Ask the seller to completely erase the device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been erased.
    Begin the device setup process.
After choosing a language, choosing a country, and connecting to a network, the device will begin activation. If you are asked for the previous owner’s Apple ID and password, the device is still linked to their account. Hand the device back to the seller and ask them to enter their password. If the previous owner is not present, they can remove the device from their account by signing in to icloud.com/find.
Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been removed from the previous owner’s account. You will know that a device is ready for you to use when you are asked to “Set up your iPhone", “Set up your iPad", or “Set up your iPod” during the device setup process.

  • Photo orientation wrong when synched back to iPhone

    Hi,
I take photos on my iPhone, then I put them into a folder and I keep that folder synched to the iPhone. That folder contains other photos from my Nikon cameras too.
Mostly all the photos I take on the iPhone are in the portrait orientation (1200x1600).
Unfortunately the portrait iPhone photos show up rotated incorrectly when synched back to the iPhone. When I turn the iPhone, it rotates the photo but it is still wrong.
I tried putting these photos into iPhoto and synching to an album...they then show up with the right orientation. But, I don't use iPhoto, I use Bridge/Photoshop, so this isn't really a good work around.
Anyone have a simple way to fix this?
    Thanks!

There is definitely something wrong (and MikeIPS' explanation that "there is no bug or flaw here" doesn't hold water, there are flags for orientation and they are being mistranslated somewhere in the process)...
    1. With iPhone in vertical position I took a picture of a vertical letter size print and it appears vertical on iPhone when viewing.
    2. Imported this picture into iPhoto, it appears vertical. Quit iPhoto and opened in Preview it appears vertical.
    3. Deleted original from iPhone, dragged imported version from iPhoto folder into my "sync pictures" folder and exported back to iPhone, now it's rotated 90 on the iPhone.
    4. Since I never edited or saved photo in either iPhoto or Preview, then it seems likely that the orientation flag is being changed during sync either upon upload or download.
    5. Next in Preview I selected image in imported version and copied and pasted into new photo in Preview, uploaded newly created file to iPhone and it is still rotated.
    6. Throughout this process, when doing a "Get Info" in Preview, the Orientation flag(s) shows 6. If you "Save As" in Preview to PNG it completely strips orientation info and PNG file uploads with correct vertical orientation. If you "Save As" TIFF it changes the orientation flag to a 1 and it uploads with correct vertical orientation. I stopped at this point because I wasn't doing an exhaustive analysis and only wanted to fix orientation on this one photo.
I should note that the weird orientation has only happened a few times, which lends further credence to the theory that it is happening during transfer. I rarely move photos back and forth, so this isn't a huge issue to me. If I did use this feature extensively, I would use the Automator and create an action that took the batch and in Preview resaved them in a file format that was as nondestructive to the image as possible. Until Apple fixes this issue, at least with the information I have provided you, you have a way to resolve the issue without resorting to having to buy any third party apps.
p.s. If this ever happens to MikeIPS I would suggest he used the Automator as well, but since Vista doesn't have one, it wouldn't do him any good.
