BUY IPHONE 4 32GB OR WAIT FOR IPHONE 3 64GB?

Hey Everyone! I am a student and I really need an Iphone as it makes my life much more efficient. At the moment I am using a Iphone 3G 8GB, and it is old, slow and sometimes not responding. The 8GB capacity is far from enough as well.
I am thinking about getting Iphone 4, however, the 32GB won't be enough for long, as I have at least 12 GB MUCH NEEDED APPS, 5GB FOR MUCH NEEDED MAPS, 2GB FOR FILE STORAGE, 4GB MUSICS, AND 3-5 GB PODCAST/AUDIOS AND VIDEOS.
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE ACTUALL AVAILABLE CAPACITY OF 32GB IS ONLY 27 OR 28 SOMETHING? LIKE IT IS ONLY 6.9GB ON A 8GB MODEL?
In my calculation, I will feed up 20GB of the Iphone 4 right after getting it, and it just have 8-9 GB to grow... and the same lack of capacity problem will happen again,
But I don't know when Apple will announce its Iphone 4 64GB?
Should I get this iphone 4 right away or wait for Iphone 4 64GB?

12 GB seems a bit high for apps to me, especially if you are not including maps in that number. I have 3.3 and use a GPS solution that does not permanently store maps. 2 GB for file store sound more than reasonable though. I have twice as much music on mine and could really put less than that on since I listen to Pandora or other streaming radio more often. If you usually get good 3g internet connectivity and especially if you have the unlimited data plan still then you should consider just streaming podcasts instead of downloading them. You can browse to them in iTunes Store on iPhone and then play them from there using the preview button. The last time I tried that it played the whole podcast. I think it still does that.
You may even want to free up more space so that you have more room for taking pictures and recording video. Don't leave a bunch of videos and pictures you recorded on the iPhone either. Post videos and photos you create to web services so you can access them from there instead.
I'd welcome the extra storage space as well, however they had to hold something back to get me to buy the next iPhone release, didn't they? You could just stick with your iPhone and get the iPod Touch, however the better camera and better screen were enough to make me go with the iPhone 4.

    hello
i bought my first mac and i want to become an iOS developer and creat app for iPhone iPad but now i have only iPad 4 and i want to buy iPhone 5s but I'm not sure to buy iphone5s now or wait for iPhone 6 because iphone6 may have bigger screen if i buy iphone5s now can i creat app for iPhone 6 if it has bigger display without buying it just test it on iPhone 5s
    thanks

One of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision.

  • HT201263 my iphone 5 screen has gone black, and when i plug it into itunes it says we have discovered a iphone in recovery mode, then when i try to restore it it just says waiting for iphone and doesnt get anywhere else. ny clue on how i can fix this prob

when i upgraded my iphone to the new update My iphone 5 screen went completely black and has been like it for 2 days. I have tried holding home and lock,I have tried holding lock and the volume, and I have tried holding just the volume, it still just stays black.
When i plugged it into my Mac the apple logo comes up on the iphone screen. and then on the computer it says itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes. (as in the below pictures)
when i click ok to restore it just says waiting for iphone (as in the other photo below). i left it in for 20minutes and still said the same thing.
after that i tried unplugging the iphone and it just went back to being a black screen again if anyone has any idea please please help me, thank you.

  • Has any one figured out how to fix an issue I'm having. My iPhone 5 randomly shuts off by itself. Then it won't turn on when i try to hook it up to iTunes it says its in recovery mode. so then i hit restore and its been stuck on waiting for iPhone.

This happened after I did a software update on my phone about a month and a half ago. My phone will randomly shut off by itself and wont come back on. I had spoke with an apple repair person over the phone who told me to hold in the home button and then plug it into my computer. When the iphone said that there was an error and gave him a code he suggested that I send it in. So I did and about a week and a half later I get it back and its on. Yet the problem still occurs. It shut off twice in the same day and for several hours would not come on. When it did I called apple again and they ran a diagnostic on my phone and said it was a software issue. So then why was it not fixed? They told me they could not duplicate the problem. And now it happens about once or twice a week now. And its happening right now. I have it plugged into my computer and the apple logo with a bar below it has been on for about 20 min now. And itunes is still saying "waiting for iphone."

    Hello Elliiee,
The steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • What should I do when my iPhone is in recovery mode, I'm trying to restore, and it's stuck at the "Waiting For iPhone" stage??

I dropped my iPhone on the ground, and as I went to pick it up, I started to swear under my breath as I realized my iPhone was in recovery mode. I'm like "how would an iPhone be this sensitive -_-," and so as my iPhone's docked unto my laptop, and with relentless attempts to restore my iPhone, I always find iTunes stuck at the "Waiting For iPhone" stage and I honestly have no clue what to do at this point. What should I do to bypass this or fix this problem? Or do I just wait? -_-

Nothing except that when I turn it on, there's a USB cable and an iTunes logo above it, indicating that it's in recovery mode.

  • My Iphone 3GS is stuck on 'waiting for iPhone' In restoration?

    Hello:)
My iPhone 3GS (32mb) turned itself off the other month and on it appeared an itunes icon with a USB plug underneath it, i cannot turn my phone off ect.
Ive plugged my iPhone into the latest iTunes patch and it had successfully restored when i clicked the restore button, although once this had finished it came back to the summary screen and the only button i could press was the restore button again, so i have and then it went through all the apple approving and other things. But now it is just saying on the laptop screen 'waiting for iPhone' and the actual iPhone has the apple logo on it and a long bar underneath that is empty. It was like this for half an hour, no change or anything, so i unplugged the iPhone and pressed the lock and home buton ( to turn it off ) and then redid the iTunes procedure, it went straight to the apple verfication thingy then moved on to the 'waiting for iPhone' again and NOW its got the same stupid empty bar and apple logo please can someone help??? I tried contacting chat online on apple and it said i had to dial a number, but asking the community for free is much more useful than a crackly phone call that'll probably cost me a fiver hahaha thanks guys!
    ps; No error reports

Did you ever got this resolve?  I have your same problem phone type and all.

  • Was stuck on "Waiting For iPhone." Now it won't respond to the charge chord

My phone has been giving me a lot of trouble today and I've been looking all over for tips and tricks, but so far, nothing has helped.
It's an iPhone 4. One of my apps was being glitchy after a recent update, so I decided to delete it and reinstall it. When that didn't solve the issue, I decided to shut my phone off and turn it on again to see if it made a difference. Since then, it's been stuck in a loop. At first, it was stuck on the Apple logo. I managed to get it into recovery mode and connected it to iTunes, but only got as far as the "Waiting For iPhone" message.
After several attempts to get it to recover, it no longer responds to the charge chord. Pressing and holding the top and home buttons only gives me the Connect To iTunes image and when I reconnect it to my computer, ... nothing.
What should I do? Is my phone lost for good? If I take it to the Apple Store in another city, is there anything they can do, or am I out of luck because I'm out of warranty?

The message that you're getting about the USB port is Windows rather than the Shuffle, ignore this as it will all work anyway.
How were you formatting the iPod shuffle? Using Windows? If this is the case I'd assume that was probably a bad choice that Windows asked you to make.
In any case I would download the latest iPod updater from http://www.apple.com/uk/ipod/download/ - open this and then plug your iPod into your computer - update the firmware and then everything hopefully should be sorted

  • 'Waiting for iPhone...' and '1604' Error Message

I have an iPhone 3GS which I bought in July 2009. I never had to reboot, recover, reset it or what so ever and it works fine!
Last Friday I downloaded the latest iTunes (9) and the latest software for the iPhone (3.1.3?) and installed both succesfully.
But when I synced the iPhone with my computer, it freezed halfway. It didn't respond anymore, so I was forced to manually remove the usb-cable. Then I had to restore the iPhone, but when my computer says: 'Waiting for iPhone', my iPhone doesn't respond.
After trying everything imaginable, I went to the Apple Store today and they got a '1604'-error and said that it had something to do with my USB connection. But they didn't give me a solution.
Every other device with the same cable works fine. My iPhone with a different cable, doesn't work.
    Can anybody help me?

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the USB 30-pin dock-connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Connect iPhone to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
    2. Restore and wait for error 1604.
    3. When prompted click OK.
    4. Close and re-open iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
    5. iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    6. Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • HT1414 my iphone 4 doesnt turn on, i tried everything and when im restoring my phone in the screen is only the apple logo and in my mac says waiting for iphone but is not doing anything . just waiting and waiting

my iphone 4 doesnt wants to turn on. i tried every step i found to restart it.. and is not working..
i restored it with my mac.. and after that the apple logo is in the screen and in my computer says "waiting for iphone"
but is like that for hours and nothing happen. i really tried everything.. i have the most new version of itunes.. my comp is ok. everything is ok..
i dont know what else to do.. some help?

First, to get the tray open. You need to push harder.
Secondly, Does it have a wall power plug? If the battery is dead, it's won't work. Try to charge it with the wall plug adopter and not through the computer. Some USBs don't put out power so, are you pluging it into a Powered USB?
Try these and let us know.
OH! If you got it wet, you may have ended it. Did you get it wet? You could try putting it in a bag of rice, and hope it works.
