Is there a point in me buying an iphone 4s now? Or should I just wait for the iphone 5?
If I buy an unlocked iphone 4s now, can I exchange it for a 5 later?
No new iPhone has been announced.... as such, the 4S is the best choice.
There also is no guarantee that Apple will release a new model in June or October, or even this year.
Purchase what suits your needs now, you will likely be buying a new one in a couple years to upgrade for new features/speed anyways. Just enjoy it and do not worry about what might come out in 6 months or a year.

The warranty for an iPhone is not international, in case your phone needs to be serviced or checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider, you'll have to bring it back personally to the country where it has been bought. In your case, Apple in France will not service a phone bought in the USA.

Iphones sold by Apple in the UK are unlocked although I do not know about if that remains the case if it is shipped overseas.
There is a section on the Apple order form where a UK resident can purchase an unlocked phone and have it shipped as a gift to someone overseas. -

Nobody can tell you that - only you can decide, but why not wait until Friday and purchase the 5s that is coming out - the iPhone will no longer be sold by Apple when the 5s is released, so wait and buy this instead of the 5.

thanksOne of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision. -

No. If it states designed for both iPad and iPhone, then it won't run on an iPod touch.

I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

There are no officially unlocked iPhones sold in Japan, and none of the Japanese carriers offer official unlocking for the iPhone. Thus, there is no way to get any Japanese iPhone officially unlocked to work anywhere other than Japan
Sell it, as you will not be able to get it officially unlocked. -

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller

Take all of this with a grain of salt. The internet tends to blow all issues of this nature out of proportion, regardless of who is doing the manufacturing. If you check out the various tech news sites, they're all reporting from the exact same sources. All total, I think I've found reference to half a dozen actual people complaining about this, but because it's Apple and because it's a brand new product, the hype (and hysteria) are excessive. It's "click-bait", a way to get people to their sites and to drive up click rates and thus advertising and revenues.
Even if you assume that these 6 people actually represent 1,000 other users who aren't speaking up, that's still only a few percent of the actual number of folks who bought these devices. It's not statistically significant.
If you're really concerned, then spend a few bucks extra and buy Apple Care. Or pay for your carrier's device insurance plan. Both will cover replacing the phone, and that's assuming that Apple doesn't acknowledge a more widespread issue and offer replacements.
My guess is that either the people involved have actually been subjecting their devices to more stress than they realize. Or, worst case, there is a batch (or set of batches) that do actually have a flaw in materials. This is speculation on my part, but it's unlikely that they would have an overarching design flaw that truly affects a statistical majority of users.
Buy the device of your choice and enjoy it. Don't worry about things that might never happen.
