Buy JVM for iPAQ/PalmOS PDA device?

Hello everybody.
I am looking for buying a PDA device(iPAQ or PalmOS).
As I can saw from the specifications of each device I am interesting in, none of them include any CD with any JVM model.
I looked for J9(WEME) and crEme JVM.
However, I can not understand if I have to buy any of these JVM seperately or do I have just to give to IBM or NSICOM my serial number
of my device in order to give me JVM free?
On the other hand, at PalmOS device (e.g. Tugsten T5) I read that you just give you the WME free.
The link is :http://www.palmsource.com/press/2004/021004_ibm.html
At least, can somebody tell me the prices of WEME and crEme Java Virtual Machine?
I really appreciate any help.
Regards,
kalgik

  • JVM for iPAQ 3800 series

    Hi,
I am completely new to PDA. I am currently working on a research project involving PDA (iPAQ 3800 series) in which I am trying to install JVM (free or open source) under PocketPC 2002 (OS) to run Java application. Sun has no longer support the free download for PocketPC 2002, only for older Windows CE OS but my PDA has to run under PocketPC 2002.
I have a Java application that runs well in jdk 1.4.1_02. Now, I am
trying to run it in PDA. Any assistance is highly appreciated?
    Thanks

  • Which JVM for PDA?

I have to develop an application that runs on a Dell Axim X51 with Intel XScale PXA270 processor and Windows Mobile 5.0 OS.
I am new to J2ME and I'm not sure if there is already a JVM installed.
(I don't have the PDA yet)
What JVM can I use? Can I just install the SUN CDLC Reference Implementation and everything is fine or do I have to install some other JVM like IBM J9?
(Or have I mixed up something and the CLDC Reference Implementation is no JVM?)
    Can somebody help me, please?

    Hi,
I downloaded and installed on my HP iPAQ hx2790 JVM
    from IBM - J9.
    The file is:
    ibm-weme-wm50-arm-ppro11_6.1.1.20061110-161633.exe
This JVM works on my HP iPAQ hx2790 (Windows Mobile
    5.0 OS).
At least it was possible to run first example.
By the way - my device HP iPAQ hx2790 is not in the
list of target devices for J9, but in practice J9
    works on this device.
Is J9 good or not - I don't know yet. Never did god
    tests yet.
Go to IBM and try to use J9.
    http://www.RoboHobby.com - Java brain for small J2ME

.J9 is OK for most PDA devices. A big problem with J9 is that it does not support Video or any other Optional API that are supported by most smartphones (i.e. Bluetooth, Location, MMAPI).
I still cant believe that in order to play a small video file I need to write JNI crossplatform code.
Has anyone tried to play a video file with J9.

How much resources does it take to implement the J2SE? Does a PDA have them?

  • Hello! if i buy keynote for example ill have the chance without paying to have it in my other apple device?

I want buy keynote for my mac but I want know if I will have for the same price in all my devices.
    thank you

You only have to buy it once. According to the Terms of Use, you may install an app on as many Macs as you own or have in your control. Once you buy it an install it on one Mac, open the App Store app on the other Mac, go to the Purchases pane and download it again.

  • Jvm for PDA

    Hi!
Is there any jvm for PDAs (it doesnt matter if freeware or not) that implements j2SE? I only have found jvm like NSIcom CrEme that implements j2me (CDC/PP)

How much resources does it take to implement the J2SE? Does a PDA have them?

  • Looking for a new PDA/Phone

I'm looking for a new PDA/Phone that is iSync 2.4 compatible for my new AT&T account. I will switch to iPhone early in the new year but need a PDA/Phone now. Appantly AT&T is out of Nokia PDAs' at the moment.

But I can not find a list of compatible devices under 10.6 . Only a 10.5 device list is online.
The 10.6 iSync Compatible devices list is still up-to-date except for the references to Palm devices. Apple has not added any new devices to iSync since Leopard was released in October 2007.
Mobile me and other work arounds are also not an option for me , as I travel allot and the international data roaming charges would easily exceed the price of the iPhone within one month.
MobileMe works over WiFi too, so you could just turn off 3G/GPRS data whilst roaming and sync when connected via WiFi.
So, I am looking for a good / small / stable pda/phone with a good keyboard that can sync Ical / and address book over bluetooth.
Do you mean a you want a physical QWERTY keyboard? That's going to limit your choices considerably, and any Windows Mobile or Blackberry devices will need third-party software to sync with a Mac. Palm's WebOS is not yet syncable with a Mac except for going via Google over-the-air, and the same is true with Android devices.
There are hundreds of Nokia & Sony Ericsson phones that sync via Bluetooth and have POP3/IMAP email clients, but almost all don't have a QWERTY keyboard.
Also, unless you buy the phone unlocked, you'll be even more limited by what your network provider offers.

  • Bluetooth connection from PDA device doesn't hit the OAS wireless component

    Hi,
I could establish Buletooth connection from iPAQ device and access my application which is running on my desktop and which is inside our company's intranet.
But I could not view the portal pages in the mobile format as specified in the Mobile Preview of Oracle Potal (ex. I am not viewing tabs as links in my PDA device but as tabs only). I guess that my request is not going to the wireless component of the OAS.
I gave the regular url link to access the application from iPAQ device.
    http://ip-address:777/bank
Request is going to the main portal server only and I am viewing the pages similar to what I see in my desktop
Please let me know how I can access my application from the wireless component of the application server.
    Thanks,

  • TS3510 I have 3 different apple devices using the same Apple ID and would like to use FaceTime to call from one device to the other.  Do I need a different Apple ID for one of the devices in order to do that?

I have 3 different apple devices (iPod Touch, iPad and MacBook Pro) using the same Apple ID and would like to use FaceTime to call from one device to the other.  Do I need a different Apple ID for one of the devices in order to do that?

I found this on a related question in the Community:
Yes you can do it. I do it with 4 different devices all using the same Apple ID.
You need to associate different email addresses for each device in order to use those email addresses as the "contact at" email address. The reason the calls are dropping on you now is that what you are trying to do is like calling yourself on your own phone.
You can also create new iCloud accounts on each device simply to use for FaceTime, but I'm guessing that the users of the other two devices have their own email addresses which will make this work for you quite easily.
Take a look at this for more information.
The seems to go against what Gail said and the issue you raised about buying dup apps was my first concern.  If this other post is correct, how to I set a different "contact at" in the iPod Touch?

  • The binary file processing in PDA device (LabVIEW PDA Module)

    To whom it may concern,
I created a VI application, which should read some binary files and transform them to waveforms shown in the Waveform Graph. I implemented it with Mobile/PDA module. This application runs successfully on my desktop, that is, on the Labview Front Panel. However, when I run it on "Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Device" (a PDA has been already connected to the PC), all the windows, menus, buttons are displayed correctly, the only thing wrong is that the waveform can't be shown in the Waveform Graph. So, I wonder whether the Windows Mobile system will automatically modify the binary file format a little when I copy them from the PC to my PDA so that the original VI can't process it as what I expected in PC execution. Or, are there any requirements for the programs that will be executed in actual Windows Mobile Device?
Thanks a lot for any comments and suggestion.

    Thanks, Jeremy,
I used LabVIEW 8.5.1.  I rechecked and debugged the VI. The problem is not due to the Waveform Graph. I set an indicator after the Read File unit, in both PC Front Panel and PDA Front Panel. As I described before, when I run it in the PC Front Panel, the indicator could show the right values read from the file. But when I switch to PDA Device Front Panel, the indicator shows zero (invalid values), which demonstrate that the data is not accessed from original files.
The units I used are shown as follows:
File Dialog ---> Open/Create/Replace File ---> Get File Size ---> Read From Binary File (Here I set an indicator, no values read from the file, but if run in PC, correct values will be shown).
In this case, I guess the problem should come from the transfer (copy operation) of the file from PC to PDA. Or the operation behavior for LabVIEW  Read File unit is a little different for PDA implementation from its PC implementation.
If you want more information, including the original binary file or VI, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

  • WRT54GX4 not working with PDA device

I got problem with my WRT54GX4, it can not working with the PDA device, like the Windows Mobile and Nokia E61 cell phone. The computers are ok. I did upgrade the firmware to the newest 1.00.20 but it didn't help at all. Does anyone has same problem or know how to solve it?

You need to check from the PDA Device if it is showing any option for network connection or wireless connection ...
Search for wireless access point & try to connect to it ....

You can use it on all the Macs you own. To save time downloading, after you DL it the first time, choose "Install Later". Then duplicate the "Install Mac OS X ML" in your Applications folder and save it off to disk. Then go back and double-click on "Install Mac OS X" in your Applications folder to begin the install.
