Buy Macbook air in USA with Norwegian keyboard layout?

I was thinking of buying a MacBook Air on my trip to Los Angeles, California in the start of November, but I can't seams to find any contact email for Apple Store or any Retail store, where is the Service in this place? If it is this hard to get in contact with Apple I'm not sure if I want one anymore...
My question simply is if there is any chance to by a MacBook Air with a Norwegian keyboard layout when I'm over.
Might this be pre-orderd? Can I just visit a store and get this? I'm only there for a week, so might not be enough time to order when I'm there.
Can anyone answer this? Or give me an email address to send this to? I'm not planning on calling to US for this, email is free and fast and don't care to much about time differences....
Kind Regards
Julian Askeland

JasonFear,
I have found that page a long time ago, but I'm still not able to find an email adress on the page, it might be me that is the problem. But please guide me to the emial.
I have fond the visiting address and phone number, but I'm not there yet, and calling around the world don't fit into my time schedule do to time differences.

Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store.  The only way to find out for sure whether you can buy something or not is for you to contact the store directly yourself.  You might be able to visit an Apple retail store in the UK and place a special order for such a machine, but only that store could tell you.

  • Trouble with norwegian keyboard layout in gnome 3

    Hello.
I have installed gnome 3 from extra, got gdm running. But i can not use the norwegian keyboard layout. In the logonscreen in gdm it is the norwegian layout, but when im loged in as root it si "us" keyboard layout.
I can use "setxkbmap no" to set the layout to norwegian. But a rebot or restart of X negates that, and I will have to do it again.
My computer is a Fujitsu Siemens amilo pro v3405.
    Below are my xorg.conf files:
    10-evdev.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
            Identifier "evdev pointer catchall"
            MatchIsPointer "on"
            MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
            Driver "evdev"

            MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
            Driver "evdev"
    EndSection
    My 10-keyboard.conf that doesnt work:
    #Section "InputClass"
    #    Identifier    "Keyboard Defaults"
    #    MatchIsKeyboard    "yes"
    #    Option        "XkbModel" "fscaa1667g"
    #    Option        "XkbLayout" "no"
    #EndSection
    And my 10-synaptics.conf for touchpad:
    Section "InputClass"
            Identifier "touchpad catchall"
            Driver "synaptics"
            MatchIsTouchpad "on"
            MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
            Option "TapButton1" "1"
            Option "TapButton2" "2"
            Option "TapButton3" "3"
    EndSection

Thx for quick respond and thx for the headsup on use of code tags.
I tried to comment out keybord section in 10-evdev.conf and use that 10-keyboard.conf, without the commenting, instead. My keyboard stoped responding at all by that.
I type setxkbmap no, have not put it in .xinitrc yet. I wanted to find a more "permanent" solution to the problem. I have also tryed to comment out
    Option "XkbModel" "fscaa1667g"
    but to no use.

  • I live in the US and want to buy a MacBook Air with norwegian keyboard in the Apple Store. Is that possible?

I live in the US and want to buy a MacBook Air with norwegian keyboard in the Apple Store. Is that possible?

In earlier years you can go th an Apple Store, buy a Macbook Pro and ask for a replacement to a other type of keyboard. I do this 2-3 times in the last years for german keyboards. If you done this on the same day you bought the macbook, the replacement happened without charge anything. It was a great service.
Yesterday i go back to the same store like before and both - the sales representative and the guys an the GeniusBar told me - that this is not offered by Apple anymore. Because the US Apple Online Store do not offer other Keyboards the US-based keyboards and the German Apple Online Store do not deliver to other countries the final conglusion from the Apple Stuff was:
Flight to germany, but it over their.
I see here in the Support community a lot of questions about norwegian, german and other kind of keyboards they want to buy in the US. Their is obviously a need for this. And from the logistic standpoint, it should be easy for Apple to offer that in the Online Stores itself.
For me the conglusaion is: I stay with my old Macbook Pro and hope i need no replacement within the next years. To order it in germany, ship it to a friend, pay taxes twice (in germany and vur customers) plus shipment, make it to expensive (bottonline: 600-800$ more than buy it in the US) make no sense to me.

    Yes.

  • Can a 128 ssd storage still effectively work if I install windows 8.1 plus msoffice and a window-based proposal system? I plan to buy a macbook air entry level with 1.7 gh i5 processor.

If you are going to use Mac OS X and its associated applications, and a BootCamp partition with Windows 8, and MS Office and all of the work created there, you will more than likely run out of space on a 128 GB SSD pretty quickly...especially if you put any music, photos or videos on it.  Those things take a lot of space so you will have to be very, very careful about what you want to put on a 128 GB storage space.  You would be better off going for 512 GB with what you plan on doing with it.

I need to buy Macbook Air with MS W7 Pro. How?

If all you need is Office then you dont need Windows 7 as there is already a version of Office which will run on a Mac. Its called Office 2011.
You can get it from the mac store or anywhere else that sells office

  • Hi. I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 soon with 4 GB of RAM and wondering how much memory space does norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the mac. Thanks a lot :)

    Hi
I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 model with 4 GB ram soon. I was wondering how much space (memory) does Norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the computer. Also, I am going off to uni so will predominantly be using the laptop for surfing and MS office.
    Thanks a lot

Sorry to disagree mende1.  In this age of email attachments and social networks, it is actually a good idea to have a good antivirus on your system. {I realize that this is a religious argument and I will say no more}.  With that said, the general concensus is that Norton AV is terrible. It is intrusive and uses up a lot of cycles.
There are a lot of better AV clients out there.  I use ClamXav which is free and uses the clamav antivirus that is open source.

  • I want to buy macbook air, could I customized it with 1TB flash memory?

I want to buy macbook air, could I customized it with 1TB flash memory?

No.  The maximum configuraiton for a MacBook Air is a 512 GB SSD: $1700 with 8 GB of RAM.  http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-air?product=MD761LL/A&step=config
However, a Retina MacBook Pro is almost the same as a MacBook Air and can be configured with a 1 TB SSD: $2,300 with 8 GB of RAM.  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5965798?tstart=0

  • Buy new MacBook in Paris (with English keyboard layout)

I want to buy new Macbook in Paris with US keyboard layout not French one. Since there are no official Mac Store in France how can I do that ?
Oh one more thing. I also want to laser Russian alphabet on buttons in Paris. Is it possible to do that ?

    http://store.apple.com/fr - this is a reseller.
No, it's not, not if you mean an independently-owned company apart from Apple. It's the official Apple Store, owned by Apple. When you order from that Apple Store, you're ordering directly from Apple.
why don't they writу full number with France code - as far as I know it is 33. so it is 33 0800 046 046
Probably because they assume that anyone ordering from the French Apple Store is in France and so doesn't need the country code. Why you can't get through to that number from another country, as I presume you're attempting, I can't say.
Well the information I have from Russian reseller is that they order them from US or UK they do not laser buttons in Russia.
Again, what Apple can and will do for a distributor/dealer is different from what they can do for an individual purchaser. Apple computers sold in a given country are usually only sold with a keyboard applicable to that country. Getting a different keyboard is often just not possible as may well be the case for you.
A workaround might be to get a MacBook with a keyboard from another language and get a set of Russian keyboard overlay stickers. Another possibility would be to purchase an external USB keyboard with Russian keys. Neither option would be an elegant solution but it might be worth it if you can save as much as you say by buying in France. Again, though, note that Apple France will not ship a system to you in Russia (or any other country); you'd have to go to France to get it.

  • Early 2009 MacBook Air. On startup no keyboard or mouse me to login. Neither is the USB working so I cannot use an external mouse or keyboard either.

Early 2009 MacBook Air. On startup no keyboard or mouse me to login. Neither is the USB working so I cannot use an external mouse or keyboard either. If I keep restarting the machine suddenly sometime I get mouse and keyboard control and I am able to login and work. After sometime though mouse and keyboard Control is lost again and the machine hangs.
Lately another problem has cropped up. Now the machine starts up and seems to work for longer time but I have no 0 key and USB everything else is fine.
    What could be the issue

  • Configure macbook air to work with projector

Do I need to configure my new MacBook Air to work with a digital projector or should it work automatically without any setting up other than connection to the projector?

If you have a Lightning to whatever input that the projector has more than likely HDMI, VGA, or DVi you should be able to to hook the projector up with no problem. You can find a number of different displayPort outputs in the apple store or other electronic online/stores. Once connected to the projector you can choose to have the the additional desktop displayed or you can enable Airplay Mirroring in the Displays section under System Preferences. You can also close your Air and use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard and completely operate through the projector screen.

  • Icloud drive fails to work at all on my Macbook Air 11 inch with Yosemite recently installed, 2014-09-20

icloud drive fails to work at all on my Macbook Air 11 inch with Yosemite recently installed, 2014-09-20. It works fine on my iMac, but that's no use to me. Unless it works with my Macbook Air, it's useless. Dropbox manages very well, but Dropbox has recently promoted the War Criminal Condoleeeza Rice to its board, presumably so it can spy on its users better. So, Apple, what's the problem? Any answers to this common problem?

I like it very much. I use it on my iPad (and occasionally my iPhone). I'm kind of a keyboard snob actually. I tried the Apple wireless keyboard first. Apple keyboards have a short throw that hurts the tips of my fingers. They're very pretty but the on button turns on when I don't want it to and my iPad wakes up in my bag. Strike 1.
I went to a little keyboard called the Joy and it had a positive switch so I didn't have the wakeup problem. It worked well though after several months I wore it out and had to replace it with another one. I also didn't like how flat it sat and used rubber bumpers on the back. It too had a short throw that hurt my finger tips after a while but it was better than the Apple.
Then I discovered the Logitech bluetooth keyboard, the K811. This is a great keyboard. It switches between multiple targets with one press, it has a positive on/off switch, the keys light up, it's rechargeable and lasts a long time, and the slight cushioning on the keys keeps my fingers from hurting. I put the rubber bumpers on it though like the Joy because I like the keyboard to sit up a little. It's a tiny bit bigger than the other keyboards but I like it a lot, better than my MBA keyboard and better than my iMac wired keyboard. I'm trying out an after market keyboard on the iMac now but I'm thinking about switching to one of these for the iMac.
