Buying a ipad from someone with no receipt
I have found a good deal on gumtree for a used ipad. The iPad is brand new and sealed though - the owner says it is an unwanted present. They do not have the receipt as it was bought for them.
Anything I should be wary of? Do I definitely require the receipt?

Don't be ridiculous, it's either used OR brand new and sealed. how on earth can it be both?
As for being a 'good deal' why would you even take the risk of being scammed by someone with no receipt and who cooed be selling you an empty box or one with junk in it?

Hello, I'm from Colombia, in recent days I have been thinking seriously in getting a last generation iPad; as I have read it is much better to get it with 4G even though the 4G LTE network is not available in my country. If I buy it, I will buy it online with a bank who establishes an international cashier and bring the merchandise over here; now my question is, Can I buy the mentioned iPad (Wi-Fi + 4G) without having to make a contract with AT&T or Verizon, just buy it without contracts, or Do I have to contract the service and cancel it as soon as I have my iPad as mentioned one can do, in the information page in the apple page? Please, I need an answer, I want an iPad with 4G network availability without contract with an american cellphone company as I do not live in there, but at the same time I want to buy it online because it is cheaper than buying it from a mac store from here.

Thank you very much.The iPad is not sold in the US, or in most countries, with carrier subsidies, so almost all purchases of an iPad are at "full price". Nor will Apple Stores nor any authorized Apple dealer ship to an address outside of the country in which the store is authorized to sell, international credit card or not. Unless JulSolid travels to another country, has someone in another country who can make the purchase, or is willing to buy from some unauthorized source, then he/she will probably have to purchase in Colombia regardless of pricing there.

Look, any officially unlocked GSM iPhone will work in India. You purchase from Dubai, no FaceTime, and Dubai is part of the UAE. You purchase anywhere but India, and you will have NO warranty or support. Frankly, doesn't make any sense to me why you want to do this...and don't bother telling me you save hundreds of dollars...still doesn't make any sense. Do a forum search here. We get posts daily, from users in India, who didn't purchase their iPhones in India...guess what? They all have problems. You want to join that bunch? It's your money, have at it.

I'm try to buy a movie from iTunes with my I pad 3 and it tells me there is not enough local storage and when I go to my local storage there is a lot on free storage I also restarted my ipad but still the same prob what do I do?
5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie. Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with. The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad. You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.

Your problem might be a easy fix.
If the firmware "forgets" what partition it's supposed to boot from, it won't load OS X, so if OS X doesn't load then it can't tell the fans to slow down, the default is "turbo mode".
So all you might have to do is hold the option/alt key down while booting the computer with a charged up battery on power, you will then see a row of icons and you pick OS X to boot from.
Once in you head to System Preferences and set the Startup Disk, that will tell the firmware what to boot from again.
Try it and see if it works.
You can do more if your problem is not fixed.

Yes, if it was purchased new you have a 1 year warranty, despite who you bought it from (unless it's stolen goods)
However you should purchase AppleCare while your in the store for another 2 more years of coverage also a backup drive for TimeMachine to protect your data. -

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....

No. The only way to get an engraved iPad is to order one from Apple (in the store or online). Engraving is not done in the stores.
Something to consider before ordering an engraved iPad. It cannot be returned unless it turns out to be defective. Engraving an iPad yourself (or having it done by someone else) will void the warranty -

I get home after buying my ipad mini play with it for a bit then try to sync my songs, movies and photos on and it syncs fine. I then look back at the ipad and seem to find on the top right saying " not charging ". I read other forms and people also struggeling with the same problem. My computer dose'nt have enough power. There must be another way for me to get to charge my ipad mini from my computer. It works fine charging it in an outlet. any ideas??!

Sushil RaisinghaniWell, first you have to come to the US to do that. When you do you will pay US sales tax in the state where you purchase it. Understand that once your return to India your warranty will not likely be honored, so you will have to return it to the US for any warranty repair. If you have it repaired in India by a non-Apple certified shop, then any further warranty will be voided.
Keep that all in mind before doing what you plan to do. You may find it is wiser to purchase it in India from an Apple certified reseller or retailer. -

What you have encountered is a security feature called activation lock. An iPad running iOS 7 cannot be reset to a new user without the previous owner releasing the device by turning off Find My iPhone or entering their Apple ID and password.
The best thing you can do is to try an contact the person you bought the iPad from and get a refund. Chances are the iPad was stolen.
