Buying A New Battery Again? PLEASE HELP.
Hi,
When I first purchased my MBP 15" in 2007, the battery would only last at most a couple hours. It would decrease more and more until it would only last for 10 minutes (I usually leave it plugged in when it is already 100% and overnight).
I got a new battery a few months ago and it worked great, giving me around 4-5 hours of battery if I remember correctly. I still kept it plugged in at 100% and kept it on overnight. Soon after, the battery would only last 10-15 minutes when unplugged (within a matter of months of buying a new battery).
Now it doesn't charge the battery to 100%, it stays at 0% so I am required to keep it plugged in. I was wondering whether this was a battery fault or something else. I have no more warranty and was wondering what I should do. I do not want to drop another $120 on a new battery if that isn't the main problem.
Please help me, I appreciate any kind of information. Thank you!

Unfortunately you didn't buy AppleCare, or take advantage of the past warranty Exchange/Repair program that existed for batteries for awhile. Sounds like you are out of luck. Have it looked at by one of these technicians, if they charge less than Apple:

i hesitate to make any sort of recommendation on a specific cam as specs change, models are discontinued & replaced. i have always liked & used Sony, but i've had my cams for several years & the features that made them quite workable are no longer offered in most consumer cams by any maker. sorry, but beyond the previous suggestion to look @ Canon, Panasonic, Sony to see what they offer, i can't be more specific. i have noticed that BestBuy doesn't seem to carry as many as they used to & many of them are only available on-line, very similar @ Circuit City. take a look @ their websites, checkout the user reviews & see if they have anything in their brick & mortar stores you can go touch. again, get a MiniDV tape-based cam w/ FireWire=i.Link=IEEE 1394. someone else may have a cam pref to post.

I am ready to buy a new ipad. There is no apple store in my town but I will be close to one in a couple of days. My town has Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. Dah*veed ..... I do not disagree with what you said about the AppleCare+ protection plan as it does state on the website that proof of purchase is required - IF ... You purchase over the phone. Actually, I did not expect to be able to do this over the phone, but as I said I received the paperwork today via email.
I copied this from the website and I'm typing this on my new iPad so it may come out a little distorted but you can read the sentence at the bottom that says it can be done over the phone with proof of purchase. I gave the rep my serial number, confirmed my address and CC details and the deal was done. I even called back later in the day to make absolutely certain that I did in fact purchase the AppleCare+ plan that has the two incidents of accidental damage included for a $49.00 charge. The rep did in fact confirm that I did buy the correct plan that I wanted and I am looking at the printed paperwork confirming the whole thing.
Maybe I just got lucky!

If so, you may file an insurance claim to replace your device. In addition, you may also check to see if you are eligible to upgrade to a new phone. How can I buy A new battery for my Iphone 5?

I have been trying to get the full version of lightroom after using a trial version but it says something about "GB" ? And i need to log into different account or set up a new one? Please help?
I would love to give you more information but i cannot access that page again? i can add Lightroom to my cart but when i go into my cart it says there is nothing in there? I needed to buy a new battery for my Apple Remote
I thought that it might be helpful for other users to know that if their brand new Apple Remote is not working, it may be because the CR2032 battery is old. In my case, I had to think why was my new Apple Remote not working:
1) the battery was old
2) the Remote was broken
3) the computer sensor was broken
I am glad that after spending $4.49 cents at the local Ace that as soon as I hit menu, the Apple Remote screen came up on my Mac.i need to buy a new battery for my Macbook 13-inch aluminum, late 2008 (A1280) .. ... and i can´t find it at the Apple Store Web, please help me

I have a MacBook Pro from '07 with 1 GB of memory. The battery is shot and my AppleCare has run out. I just upgraded the OS to 10.6.8. But a few questions:
1 - How do I even check how much memory I have left on this computer?
2 - How do I check how many battery cycles are left?
3 - I want to upgrade to Microsoft Office '11 because I don't have Adobe Acrobat to creat pdf's and I need to be able to do this for school... Instead of buying acrobat, I figured I would just upgrade to Office '11 because I can generate pdf's from Word. Roughly how much RAM does Office '11 take up?
4 - Does Apple still make batteries for this computer (from '07)? How much do they cost?
5 - How much does 1 more GB of memory cost?
AND lastly -- is it even worth it to spend the $ on more RAM, a new battery and Office '11?
Or does it make more sense to just get a new computer entirely? (trying to avoid this).

If you're asking how to check to see if you need more RAM, open Activity Monitor and go to the System Memory tab, then compare page outs and page ins. If page outs is 10% or more of page ins, you probably need more RAM.
2 - How do I check how many battery cycles are left?
There's no limit on the number of battery cycles, it's just that the more cycles you've used the more "worn out" your battery gets. You've got a 4-year-old machine, and if it's still got the original battery, it's probably about time for a replacement battery. You can check battery health using System Profiler... look at the Power section under Hardware.

You don't need Office 2011 to create PDFs. Any application capable of printing can create PDFs on a Mac. Just choose File -> Print, but instead of clicking the Print button in the print dialog, click the PDF button and choose Save As PDF in the menu that appears.

If Office 2004 is still working fine for you, stick with that and don't incur the costs of Office 2011. As to the RAM, only add more if the test I mentioned above indicates that you need it. If you buy more RAM when you don't really need it, you won't see much (if any) performance improvement. That just leaves the battery... and if the machine is still doing what you need it to do and you don't really need a new machine for anything, you could definitely buy a new battery and get a few more years out of it. -

I can only leave my MacBook Pro unplugged for an hour maximum and it never seems to fully charge. It says on the Mac to service battery - which I guess means buy a new battery.
I have had my MacBook for over 5 years now and it does get used probably every day, if not every other. If I brought a new battery would it all work normally again or is it getting old and do I need a new one?
Also, my charger seems to be playing up a bit now as well. It's seems to be temperamental when I plug it in and takes to while to light up and charge. I've attached an image of the battery bit on my laptop as the lead seems to be fine - is this normal?
Thanks in advance guys.Is there any application(s) that your current Mac cannot run that only a new can? Calculate the cost per year of your current MBP and compare that to the cost of a new battery. Spread the battery cost over a year or two of additional operation, how do the dollar amounts compare? If the MBP is functioning properly, I generally find it is more cost effective to keep it.
If the retina display and the SSD storage are very desirable from your perspective, then that becomes a different matter. You are the one to make the final decision.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I opened the cover (there where the battery is) and I cleaned the dust gently with a dry napkin ...remove the battery and placed it again ...closed the cover and when i turn on my macbook bro now it shows the Apple logo and after some seconds it just shuts down (i have OSX 10.9 Mavericks)....
I tried to boot in safe mode, also tried to repair it and even re-install Mavericks and so on, but I could not fix it. I did a hardware test and the no problems occurred. -
