Buying an app in the british store as american customer

hello, we are americans living in UK since 1998. We are supposed to go back to the states when hubby retires. My problem now is that as a sky customer, I want to put sky Go on my iphone. Since I am officially registered in the american store which is fine for me I can not get sky go as this is an app only available in the UK store.
How can I get to a british app (free app BTW - not paying) when I don't belong to the British store?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... I am a sky customer and do have sky go on my laptop, but it would be nice to have it on phone for those moments when I don't have my laptop...

If you are located in the UK, actually you are not supposed to be using the USA store. From the Terms and Conditions: "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance."
Go to the home page of the iTunes Store, click on Change Country, and select UK. Give it your credit credentials with a UK address, and you can buy what you want from the UK store.
Note that the location restrictions apply at the time of purchase. Once you have bought it, you can continue to use it no matter where you go.

You can ONLY use the itunes store of your country of residence ( proven by the issuing country of your credit card and the valid billing address of that card) AND ONLY while you are physically located inside the borders of that country.
You cannot use other countrys itunes store.

Go to appleid.apple.com. From there, go to Manage Apple ID. Log in and go to Password and Security. When you get to the page about answering your security questions, click on the link for Forgot My Answers. That will send an email to the rescue email address on how to reset. I am italian, and i always used an italian sim card and and an italian appleID. recently I bought a UK sim card, because I moved in the UK. The problem is that I would like to have access and buy new apps from the UK store, but my apple ID is valid only for the Italian store. I prefer to avoid the creation of a new account for a lot of reason that are not related to this post. Do you have any ideas?

Nope. You can only have one credit card attached to an account at a time. Its not that big of a deal to use two accounts, users do this all the time. Create the second account(UK Account) in iTunes on your computer...sign out of your Italian account first. Then authorize your computer for this new account: Store>Authorize this computer. Then sync your phone. Now, to switch accounts on your phone: Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...then sign back in with the ID you want to use.

It's real easy to create a new one and, in fact, it's too easy. I say that because multiple IDs are a PIA. The problem is that anything obtained from the iTunes Store is PERMANENTLY associated with the ID that was used to obtain the item(s). iTunes items can not be transferred from one ID to another and IDs can not be merged.
The problem arises when you want to update an app. If you're doing it from iTunes on your computer, you must log out and back in to get to the correct ID. Then you update and log out/in again to get back to where you started. It's slightly easier if you update from the iPad/iPod device as there is no need to log out/in BUT you still need the correct password for the appropriate ID. Of course, with a disabled ID, the problem is much worse!
A replacement Apple ID makes sense ONLY if you wish to start out absolutely brand new with zero iTunes Store purchases.
If you're really butting your head aginst a wall and you're reasonably close to an Apple Store, my suggestion is that you make an appointment with the resident "Genius" and get his/her help.
One last thought... If your brother actually got a human on the phone to dispute the charges, go there and explain the problem. Of course, if Apple did not accept his explanation of what occurred, that could be the whole issue. Apple believes that money is owed on the account!

I have iTunes credit over 10 $ but still i can't buy an App from the mac App store although it show that i have credit and im sure i do, i tried exiting the Mac App Store and try again but still when i click on buy it opens a new window with billing info after i type my Account details, i don't use credit card and have always redeemed iTunes Gift Cards , but now it doesn't let me buy it!
Any help on how to buy an App without the store taking me to billing info to add , would be appreciated

Every time I try to update or buy an app from the app store it says there is an unknown error

So everytime I try to update an app or buy an app from the app store it says unknown error (4). I don't know why it does this but it's really annoying and it has been like this for a while now. Itunes works perfectly for me. It's just the app store.

Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and see if you can update or purchase an app.

If you are talking about iBird Pro HD, it is for iPad only. There is an iBird Explorer Pro app that is for both iphone and iPad. Same company. See all their apps here: http://www.ibird.com/
If the app you are looking at does not say it is for the iPhone, don't buy it. You'll own an app you can't use (unless you buy an iPad to go with it).

Is the name address on your iTunes account in exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bil. You could try what it suggests on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 - and if that doesn't fix it try contacting your card issuer :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.
