Buying an Iphone 4 without being American.

Hi! i'm from Argentina and I'm trying to buy an iphone 4 without contract. Is it possible to do that withou having a social security number and no ATT account? I have no problems to pay the full price. Thanks in advance for the info.

Yes. I have ordered pay as you go cards online, they are sent to me, and never had to give them a social security number. The reason why they want social security number is thatif you do a 2 year contract with them, they can verify that you are credit worthy for that contract. You pay full price for the phone, they dont care as they risk nothing.

Why don't you just download it from the App Store? According to the info on Whatsapp, it requires iOS 4.3 or later. Are you not running iOS 4.3 or later?

  • If i buy an iphone 6 without contract from the US, would it work in other countries with non-US carriers?

if i buy an iphone 6 without contract from the US, would it work in other countries with non-US carriers?

Contract free versus SIM free are different. What you want to do is to wait for Apple to sell the SIM free version of the iPhone 6. See this explanation from the Apple 5S page that details this...
If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed that you can activate by visiting an Apple Retail Store or a T-Mobile store or by calling T-Mobile. If you buy a SIM-free iPhone, you will need to purchase a GSM-compatible nano-SIM card separately. In the United States, you can purchase such a SIM from AT&T or T-Mobile. When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5s from a local GSM carrier.
Also be aware warranty service is country specific. So if you buy a phone in the US and it develops problems you would need to return it for service in the US...

  • How can I erase my iPhone 4 without being to connect to iCloud

We recently upgraded and would like to sell our iPhone 4; we were told by an Apple store Genius Bar staff member that our antenna was going bad, and that was the reason we could not connect to WiFi, and the cloud. How can we erase our information from the phone, without being able to do this?

Just follow the instructions here -> Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
    Before you restore your device
Make sure you’re using the latest version of iTunes.
Use iTunes to back up your device. Transfer and sync any additional content to your computer.
Turn off Find My iPhone in Settings > iCloud on your device to disable Activation Lock

  • Buying an iPhone 3GS without the AT&T contract.??

Hi there... I live Ohio and I was thinking of buying an iPhone 3GS (16GB).
My question is that if I buy the iPhone from an Apple Store without the AT&T contract (approx 600USD for the 16GB model) from the United States, will I be able to use my phone in other countries with their local network carrier's SIM cards? I have a traveling job (have to switch countries every 3-4 months or at least twice a year) so I usually buy a local SIM from the country that I live in since that is a cheaper option for me.
I have wanted an iPhone since a very long time now but I hate what Apple has done (the contract with AT&T). What good is a phone for a person like me who travels so much in a year?!! I need a phone where I can switch SIM cards without any hassles.
Hope someone has an answer to my question. I don't want to buy the iPhone unless I'm absolutely sure that it will work in other countries (mainly Australia, UAE & India)

ALL U.S. iphones are carrier locked to AT&T in the U.S. They CANNOT be activated with any other carrier in any other country.
You need to buy an unlocked phone from one of the few countries that offer this.

  • Buying an iPhone 4 without iOS 6?

I own a MacBook from 2008 and an iPad from 2011, I am a loyal apple customer. I have never doubted my choice to be a life long apple user, until today. I have been planning on buying an iPhone 4 when my current cellphone plan runs out, but today I updated my iPad to the iOS 6 and I HATE it. I'm curious to know if I were to buy an iPhone 4, would I automatically be forced onto iOS 6, or could I choose the one before that? This will influence my choice to buy an iPhone at all. I am incredibly disappointed with the map app and would rather look into a completely different phone than be annoyed on a daily basis with the iPhone, which I know can be a better device than it is today.

If you buy from Apple (do they even sell iPhone 4 any more?) or a cellular carrier, you will almost certainly get iOS 6.  If you buy from some lesser known third party, you may have more selection, but then there is another party in the transaction that you have to think about (in case of hardware failure, for example(.
Whatever it is that you don't like about iOS 6 is very likely to improve soon.  If it were me, I wouldn't hesitate to go that route.

  • Buying the iphone 4 without the contract?

Ok guys I am aware that the starting price without a contract is $599.99
but my question is; I want to buy the phone as a gift, I do not want to have to activate it. I called my local AT&T, and they said that I have to activate it when I make a purchase. Anyone have experience buying it as a gift or who knows a way around it?

    HI,
    Check here. iPhone / FAQ's
See number 2 at the bottom of that page.
And here: Should I Give an iPhone as a Gift?
A better way to do this might be an Apple Gift Card. Gift Card / Apple Store U.S.

  • Can you power the iphone down without being able to swipe the screen?

My iphone's screen will not respond to touch so i tought that if I were to power cycle the phone the problem might clear up. But how do you power cycle without the screen working?

To power down, press and hold both the home button and lock button until the screen goes black. To reset, press and hold both buttons until the apple logo shows up on the screen.

  • If you have unlimited text, and are not connected to wifi, is it possible to send Imessages to other iphones internationally without being charged the ridiculous international fees?

So my friend is in Ireland for about 9 months, and I was wondering if it is possible for us to communicate via Imessages without accumulating extra international fees when we aren't on wifi. I know you can rack up a huge phone bill if you send regular text messages internationally, and I was wondering if Imessages make that not happen. We both have an Iphone 5s.
I know it will use data when not on wifi, but as long as you don't go over your data plan you won't be accumulating extra fees right?

Correct (assuming your friend is not paying data roaming rates).

  • Are there any discount for apple? I would like to buy the iphone 5s without contract but it seems too expensive

is there any way to get a discount on an iphone 5s ,esp one bought without contract?

The only discounts are through the carriers themselves, in exchange for you agreeing to a contract term.  It's not really a discount as much as it is simply distributing the cost of the phone over the period of the contract - the carriers still make their money on the phone in the end.
Its not unlike T-Mobiles new update anytime or AT&T's new deal - pay the whole price upfront and never have a contract, or effectively (with AT&T) finance the price of the phone over a year's worth of payments.  No matter how you slice it, you still end up, one way or another, paying essentially the full retail price of the phone.
(I particularly dislike T-Mobile's current ads - anyone with any carrier could always upgrade "whenever they want" as long as they paid rull retail price for the handset - nothing at all new with T-Mobile's latest "deal").

  • Can I localise my iPhone 4 without being subcribed to any apps like iCloud, only with its serial number?

I would like to know, if there is any possibility to locate my iPhone,
without having these fancy apps, that would be so useful, but which I didn't install before.
Is there any chance Apple could locate it with the serial number?
    Thanks a lot!

Apple does not help with lost/stolen phones...neither does Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, etc. If you didn't activate/setup Find My Phone, there is no way to locate your phone. Not even your carrier will help you find it.

  • How can I download my iTunes library from my old Mac to my new iPhone 5 without being able to use iMatch. iMatch is not compatible with my old Mac that runs on 10.5.1

Just got an iPhone 5, and learned that the 100 or more CDs that I had uploaded to iTunes on my older Mac cannot be downloaded to my new phone using iCloud/iMatch. I match is not compatible with the older operating systems. I spoke to a Apple genius, and he said that there is software out there that will do the job. Is anyone familiar with any of these? Frustrated, and need help.

I regret to say that you need a new computer. That G5, as good as it still is, simply cannot run the required software to be used with the latest iPhones and other software.

  • Is it possible to buy iPhone 4 without a simlock

    Hi
I am from Turkey and will be visiting USA. Im thinking of buying an iPhone 4 without a contract as its much cheaper there(about 1/3 of the price of here). But as far as i read on the internet even if you buy without a contract the phones come with an at&t simlock. Is it possible to buy an iPhone 4 without a simlock in the USA?
    Thanks

Hi Cagri, Yes good for you doing some research before you buy. As stated the US iPhone is simlocked and cannot be officially unlocked. If you are going to be close to Canada you can buy a unlocked phone from an Apple Retail Store. If you do so, please bring a micro sim from your carrier to ensure it will work before you head home. Also note that is you buy an iPhone from another country, if any warranty issues you will need to ship the phone to someone you know in that country, Canada or UK, and have them bring it to Apple for service. All at your expense. While you may be initially saving 1/3 of the cost, it could cost you much more down the road.
Hope this info will help you.
    Good Luck.

  • Buying iPhone 4S without contract in singapore

Hi Apple, I am from Singapore, using iPhone 3GS, i want to buy iPhone 4S without contract. Apple store also no more selling iPhone 4S. How and where to buy the iPhone 4S without contract in singapore?

You are not addressing Apple here.  We are all iphone users just like you.

  • Buying an iphone 4 w/o the data package

I was really hoping to pre-order an iPhone 4 today with Verizon. My ipod touch, 3rd gen, was stolen earlier in January. I held out replacing it because I knew Verizon would soon be carrying the iphone. Unfortunately, you have to buy the data package to go with it ($30 a month minimum). I just want to replace my touch and cell phone and only have one device. I don't need the cellular data service. When I get on the internet I will use my home or work network or other Wi-Fi hotspot.
Is it possible to buy the iphone 4 without a data package or buy it and then cancel the data package? I'm disappointed that someone has made this unnecessary expense (data package) part of the package. Apple is still going to get my money if I buy the phone or itouch, and Verizon is going to continue to get my money for phone service. I don't understand why we can't have the best of both worlds.
I hope someone with Apple reads this and can help me out.
    Thank you.

As was said above and most have answered your question, all smartphones are required to have a data plan and it's mandatory that all smartphonoe does. Sure it may not be worth when you are home, but if you are out somewhere where there is no wi-fi at all, you have no choice to use the 3G data to surf on the net or do something. If you still think that 30 bucks for an unlimited data plan isn't worth for you, then any smartphone isn't for you. You will just have to deal with what Verizon offers on the data plan. I'm sure they also offer cheaper data plans.
