  • Installing 10.9.2, "shutdown because of a problem", now Mail won't open and App Store won't work.

While installing OS X 10.9.2, my MacBook Pro suddenly "shut down because of a problem" (which isn't the first time that happened). Checking the Apple menu and "About this Mac" it says I have 10.9.2 installed. I tried to see if I could reinstall the update, figuring something went wrong when the computer shut down, but the App Store won't work, clicking on "Updates" or any other tab doesn't change the screen from the App Store icon in the center. Mail also won't open, which is what I ; I tried to see if I could reinstall the app, but I don't have the CD that the support page said I needed. It seems to be only Mail and FaceTime that won't open so far. How do I fix this?

I took it in to my university's apple care and they wiped and reinstalled the OS.
Next time I will just go in and ask, since it doesn't look like anyone else is getting any real help with this problem!

  • Updated to 10.8.5 and now app store won't work?

I have just updated my Mac 10 version 10.8.5 and now it is saying that the App Store won't work with this version. Itunes also won't open as this obviously hasn't updated properly either.
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't seem to be able to reinstall the App Store either?

    Try the following....
    Mountain Lion Recovery
Boot up from your computer by holding down the command+r keys.  This will take you to the recovery drive.
Select Disk Utility & hit Return.
In Disk Utility select the HD on the left & click on Repair Disk (bottom right).
When done, repair permissions from your desktop DU and restart your computer.  Check SU for further updates.
    Post back your results.

When powering off my iPod touch, any application (facebook, viber etc)installed using App Store won't work again
    How to solve this issue?

Try a hard reset first. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If still no luck, try downloading and installing a new app from the App Store.  Doing so has cleared the issue up for several users.

  • HT4623 I recently updated my 64 gig 4S to OS7, my apps don't work any more, the apps store won't work, I've tried deleting apps and reinstalling, no good. The phone is just a phone now

since updating my apps don't work anymore, the app store won't connect, I tried deleting apps and reinstalling, no go. The phone is just a phone now.

Try accessing the Store through the Music App first then use the other app.
You've already tried a Reset, Restore from Backup, Restore as New?

  • HT203421 How do I reinstall Mavericks if my app store won't work?

We've been having troubles with this iMac. Apple Store replaced everything but the hard disk, nuked and repaved it with Mavericks. I reloaded my info from backup manually. Now, Preview, Messages, and App Store don't work. Is there some way to reinstall Mavericks without connnecting to the App Store?

You almost certainly ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again.

  • My ipad 2 app store won't work

I don't know why, but my app store won't download.
I Deseret my iPad.... And it's taking for ever just to sign in my apple I. D
    What to do?

Do you mean that the apps are taking forever to download?
Have you tried to quitting the app store and restarting the iPad?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • My App Store won't work wat do I do

App Store want work wat do I do

By 'won't work' you mean ... ? Does the app not open, are the screens in the store blank, do you get error messages when trying to buy/download apps ... ? Have you tried anything to fix it ?
Depending upon what the problem is, and if you haven't already done so, then try logging out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > ITunes & App Store and then log back in and see if the Store then works.
If that doesn't fix it then try closing the App Store app via the multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it :
iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another thing that you could try is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My App Store won't work

Whenever I go into my App Store it says it cannot connect, although my iTunes app will work. Please help

I'm having the exact same issue; except mine started before I even upgraded to the latest iOS update.  My iPad and iPhone are both doing the same thing - I try to buy new apps or download already purchased apps from the cloud and the loading symbol appears for a split second and boom - disappears - and goes right back to square one.  I tried upgrading to 7.04, tried rebooting, tried resetting my internet, tried resetting both my iPad and iPhone, and also closed out of all apps to refresh them.  Nothing has worked and the apple support gurus just want me to send an email and wait for a solution, which is completely sucky.  Sounds like Apple screwed up somewhere.

  • Mac App Store Won't Work After Upgrading HDD

I'm on a Macbook Pro 2011. I had Mavricks. I downgraded my OS because I had hardware that wouldn't work with Mavricks. I also upgraded my HDD. I tried to open Mac App store but it won't open. The icon will appear on my dock and the App Store title bar appears, but all the opions in the menu are greyed out and not clickable.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • IPod touch 1st gen app store won't work

Hey all, I have an iPod touch 1st generation running firmware 3.1.3 and the app store is so buggy I cant download any apps except for in the featured part of the store... When ever I try to hit free or buy or 99 c or whatever you want to call it, the page becomes corrupted and I can't download the app. It won't let me put in my password. Also when I scroll down to the bottom to try to view screenshots the picture is all zoomed in and I can't swipe left or right. If anyone can help me get my iPod back too normal I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not jailbroken and have tried to restore the iPod twice now. :/ thanks in advance.

Other users of 1G iPod (or any iPod with iOS 3.x) have experienced the same problem within the last couple of days. It appears that Apple updated the App store website to cause this problem. For the time being you just have to download them to your computer and sync them to your iPod.

Indicates a hosed installation, since whatever's calling the CoreReco gnition file has an error in it since the file's name doesn't have a space or the file's missing. DL and manually install the 10.8.2 COMBO update. That should do the trick.
