Buying content from another country.

I want to buy audiobooks and music from Italy, listen to Italian podcasts. Is there a good way to go about doing this? I tried changing my country preferences to Italy but it will not allow you to do it. It wants an Italian address. Also it will not allow you to purchase with an American bank account, so it will not even allow me access to free downloads. Does anyone know of a way around these hurtles?

Short answer, no. In order to purchase from another country's store, the copyright holders for content require that you have a credit card with a billing address in that country. These are requirements set by copyright holders on Apple as the copyright holders do not care for cross-border sales.
Just a suggestion as a new poster, you might want to try the "search" window in the upper right, to see if your question may have been asked previously, that way you don't have to wait for someone to come along with an answer. For example, this question on how to buy from another country's store is asked & answered literally dozens of times per week in both the Windows & Mac forums.

  • Can i buy content from another itunes store?

    Hi,
I live in Canada and therefore default to the Canadian itunes store. Can i purchase items ie: TV show episodes from the US itunes store?
Thanks for any help in advance.

This has been covered here literally dozens of times, but once again: the content owners do not allow cross-border sales from any of the legal download stores. You must therefore have legal residence in the country of the iTunes Store you wish to use. So in order to buy from another country's iTunes Store, you must (as proof of residence) have either:
    a) a credit card issued by a bank in that country with a billing address also in that country, or
    b) a mailing address for your residence in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, again, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.

  • Buying music from another country

How do I purchase music from another country (Ireland) It wouldn't take my login. If I got into it would it allow me to purchase music and will it play in the US.

Just go to the store's website and buy tracks the normal way. Almost all online music download stores will sell you music no matter where you live. The only exceptions are the stores that sell major label music, e.g. the iTunes Store and Amazon, which restrict by country of residence.
If I got into it would it allow me to purchase music and will it play in the US.
Make sure the music you are buying is in MP3 format. MP3 is a universal format and plays the same anywhere.

  • How To Buy Songs From Another Country

My "home account" is in Switzerland.
As an "enka" fan, however, I would like to buy songs from the Japanese iTunes Store.
Is this possible, e.g., by creating a second account? If not, what do I have to do?

In order to purchase in the Japan store, you would have to have a credit card with a billing address in Japan.

  • Buying iPad from another country

I want to order an iPad with wifi + 3G at Appel's website .
I live in Israel but I have a US address .
Can I order the iPad ( AT&T version ) without Monthly payment to AT&T  ?
    Thanks

There is no committment to paying AT&T when you order the AT&T iPad version. However, not only will you need a US address to ship it to, but also a US credit card (I believe).

How do you buy ibooks from another country?

If you can't find what you want in your local ibookstore, the best fix is normally to look in the other ebook stores which also provide free ereader apps for your device, such as Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, Sony.

  • Buying apps from another store?

Is there any way of buying apps from another country store and using them on your ipad? There are some apps I would like but for some reason are not available on my own country store.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

No - the terms of use of the iTunes stores say that you can only buy from the country that you are currently in (and, I'm not sure on this, but you may also need to have a credit card registered in that country).

  • Buying items from another store

i m a uk user wondering how to buy items from the itunes libray usa like tv shows,is dat possible ????????

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Cannot purchase from another country's iTunes....

I know we cannot purchase from another country's iTunes, but how about if someone in that country gifted songs to us? For example, my wife here in the U.S. wants stuff from the Japanese iTunes store but can't buy it; can her sister in Japan "gift this song" to her? Thanks.

No, you can only successfully gift to people who are in the same country as yourself - the gifting may appear to go though, but your wife won't be able to redeem it

  • Getting Music from Another Country

Im a big fan of japanese rock and other music but it wont let me purchase music under the japanese music store. Can anyone tell me how to do this or if it is possible.

Expanding a bit, in order to buy from another country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, BTW, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.
