Buying from Wal Mart

I am eligible for an upgrade and qualify for a $30 discount on the old "New Every Two" program.  I was wondering if I have to go to a Verizon Store to get that credit or can I get it at any authorized Verizon retailer like Wal Mart or Costco?   And what about the new offer of a $100 gift card for people who upgrade to a smartphone?  I am moving up from an LG Chocolate Touch to an iPhone 4 and was wondering if I bought the iphone 4 from Wal Mart whether I would still getthe promotion card for the $100 gift card to trade it in at Verizon?  Thanks!

Thank you for the great input (as always!). I would like to confirm that New Every Two credits apply only for upgrades processed online at www.vzw.com or at a Verizon Wireless store and upgrade orders place by phone at 1-800-922-0204. Third party retailers have their own promotions and customer agreements.
Additionally, the $100 trade-in promotion when upgrading from a basic phone to a Smartphone applies to all channels, including when the upgrade is processed at a third party retailer. The following conditions must be met to qualify for promo:
Promotion: All upgrade eligible basic phone customers who upgrade to a Smartphone by 09/30/2011 will receive a $100 Verizon Wireless gift card.  Two-year contract with data plan required.
Trade-in process:
Upon completion of upgrade from basic to any Smartphone, the customer will receive a redemption email the next business day with their unique promo code to submit for trade in. In addition to the email, a text message will be sent to the line upgrading (consumers only).
Customer visits our VZW Trade-In Program at trade-in.vzw.com via the email notification to submit promo code.
Customer will receive a postage paid envelope (within five business days)and mail in their basic phone.
Customer has until 11/15/2011 to redeem their unique code online and an additional 30 days to receive the return envelop and return the used basic phone.
The Verizon Wireless gift card will be sent to the customer approximately three weeks after the used basic phone is received.

  • Brand New Ipod touch 4th gen  right earphone jack not working out of the box. Bought at Wal-Mart yesterday. Are we missing something in the set up or should we return it?

    We just purchased an ipod touch 4th gen 8 gb from Wal Mart. OUt of the box the right headphone is not working. Tried numerous pairs of headphones..tried the mono settings and nothing is working. Is there a setting we are missing or should we just return it?

    If the headphone plug is fully inserted, I would return the iPod for a replacement

    Wow! Purchasing a new computer and monitor should be a fun and exciting experience, and instead, it sounds like it’s turned into a complete nightmare. I can only imagine your disappointment when you found two charges relating to its purchase on your debit card account, and I’m sorry for any aggravation this caused. 
    As I want to provide you some piece of mind, I pulled up your order number using your email address attached to the forum. After review of its payment information, I found we collected only one payment.  However, when orders are first placed on BestBuy.com, a pending authorization should show up on your bank card to make sure funds are available for the order until it is fulfilled. From there, the authorization should drop off and the collection charge should appear.  This is the case for your one charge of $1,051.69.
    It also sounds like an error may have occurred when you initially attempted to place your order,  resulting in one of your gift cards not registering properly and the order not being completed.  Your card’s issuing bank doesn’t appear to have recognized this and pushed through the pending authorization. This occurred a second time when your account information didn’t quite match up with what we had on file. Please know that we haven’t ordered a collection of these funds and your issuing bank should release the two pending authorizations within 5 to 7 business days.

    Plus, Verizon store would NOT price match and manager was not interested in my business...

    Glad you do your research before purchasing, as a lot of people don't. And then they come on here and complain that they got "scammed" by 3rd party retailers and say it's Verizon's fault. But those are the people who don't actually read what they sign.
    I think those 3rd party deals are great if you're willing to go outside Verizon and you know what you're getting into. I believe it's Amazon.com that has the stipulation of not being able to change anything on your account for 181 days after upgrading - that can be a deal breaker for some people.

    First off what do you mean by "factory unlocked"?
    Second, you need to use the microSIM removal tool, open the microSIM slot and put the new one in. Your kit from Straight Talk will give you more information.

    of my local AT&T stores that I have 2 3GS's eligible for the upgrade price ($199/$299). Unfortunately they closed the preordering before I could do so. So I was planning on getting to the AT&T store around 4am to purchase one. If for some reason they run out of phones before I get one, can I go to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Radio Shack etc. And get one for the upgrade price?
    How would they know about current contract etc?

    IMO, i'd go to radio shack.. just because no one likes radio shack LOL i actually reserved mine yesterday.. and i'm 10th on their list.. and every best buy around here stopped taking pre-orders
    (i also live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.. and it's REAL populated here... many of the stores around here stopped taking pre-orders/reservations.. i just ended up making phone calls to every store within 2 hr radius ..LOL )

    Is it illegal to take a picture of someone with your camera phone, while

    Do not buy from Sony if you work. After 3 delivery attempts FedEx is required by Sony to ship it back to them. You CANNOT go to a FedEx facility to pick it up. After 5 phone calls with Sony support no one was willing to help me. I don't know how people who WORK buy things from this company.     yeah if you get one which is sim unlocked if it's not you can only use hte hongkong carriers sim and have to roam your local network which is expensive
    and another issue is warrenty is not international so if you have a problem with your phone you need to hand it in in hongkong

    You can buy from an Apple store, which has a 14 day return policy.
    You can buy on-line from Apple and get a new or refurb model (less $), and get engraving if you want it.
    Some retail stores have a more generous return (30 days?) policy.
    You can buy from an on-line Apple Authorized Reseller. I bought (with free shipping) mine from MacMall because I didn't have to pay sales tax. I paid with my American Express CC to get, for free, an additional 1 year warranty.
    Regardless of where you buy you still get the 30 day Apple Care and 1 year warranty. You can extend, for $, the Apple Care for 2 years. Or you can buy, for $, Apple Care +, which provides accidential damage repair insurance. There's also some 3rd party sources to buy the accidential insurance.
    Some retail stores and on-line stores offer a small discount or add a bonus item.
    It's your choice. Find the best deal.

    You can ONLY use the itunes store of your country of residence ( proven by the billing address on your credit card) AND ONLY while you are physically located inside the borders of that country.
    You would have to live in the U.S and physically be located in the U.S in order ot use the U.S tunes store.  The same is true for each countrys itunes store.

    Since two weeks, I can't buy from my home store in Thailand anymore because I cannot read the language.
    Before, I could access any item I wanted and I bought devices and articles worth many thousands of US-Dollars over the years.
    The problem is that due to my profession, I've been living in many different countries within tha past 20 years, currently I am staying in China.
    My home is in Thailand but as native German, I can speak Thai reasonably but I can hardly read.
    Until two weeks ago whenever I logged into my account, everything came up in English and I could buy whatever I wanted.
    Now, as soon as I log in, everything comes up in Thai and the articles on the Thai market are very limited - so I'm snookered.
    When I change the store to German or American, I can look what I want but it won't let me buy and reverts to the Thai store again.
    I cannot create and sign in with another Apple-ID because I do not have any methods of payment, an alien CC nor in Germany neither in the States, so I'm snookered again.
    I tried getting support and spend days and nights now without making any progress in finding a solution.
    Momentarily, I'm so very much p...... off, that I would like to take ALL of my Apple stuff and get rid of it.
    It's not the first time that I'm extremely disappointed with Apple.
    As I mentionend, I lived in many countries over the years with quite a number of different Apple-IDs.
    Ever tried to retrieve your password or ID???? Have Fun...... ridiculous!
    I almost made my mind up and throwing the whole Apple-shebang and settle for something else instead.

    The option to send reset info only appears if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have one (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
