Buying Hebrew/Arabic

Do I have to buy a special Middle East version of CS6 to use InDesign with Hebrew or Arabic (so these languages are entered right-to-left)? If so, WHERE can I buy CS5 or CS6 using a student ID? Trying to find this out through Adobe support has led nowhere! Thank you.

is there an on/off slider button for Arabic and/or Hebrew?
Yes - both are there

  • Acrobat X and Hebrew / Arabic

In my buraeu we use Acrobat Pro 9 and OS X 10.6. Using the new "Print to Adobe PDF" command from the print panel we can produce PDFs that include hebrew, greek, and other languages (in unicode encoding). The version we use is NOT the Middle Eastern specific, but the U.S., sold by Adobe in the USA. In the same production environment we test CS 5.5, which includes Acrobat X. Whenever we try to print a document (from Apple Pages, Nisus Writer Pro, or other unicode aware apps that support right to left) with the "Print to Adobe PDF" command, the operation fails, during "Validating Input". If we remove any traces of Hebrew / Arabic, the document prints as expected (e.g. Greek, Phonetic Alphabets etc).
    To sum up:
Although Acrobat Pro 9 supports printing documents with Hebrew, Acrobat Pro X does not. As you can understand it is a show-stopper. Is anyone else having the same problem? Could there be a problem with the trial?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

Acrobat X should print anything as long as the hebrew Font is in the system and embedded in the Document.
I'd suggest using a Utility such a OynX, Cocktail, or IceClean To  remove font caches and restart. This will for Acrobat to rebuild font cache. If a Henbrew Font is installed should pick it up.
I opened word and simplay typed  abcdef and so on in Hebrew (changed language to hebrew) so I hope I am not cussing anyone out. This is what I saw when I created a PDF:
http://www.screencast.com/t/x2cBqJVPsk2 Since MS Office Mac is incapable of right to left. may be difficult for you to read.
So Acrobat X is capable of showing Hebrew.

  • How to install Unicode fonts (so I can see/read Hebrew, Arabic, Syriac)

I need to be able to see/read Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac. I have Unicode fonts, but how are these installed on the Droid X?
Ideally, I need to also install a keyboard for these.

The unicode font is indeed within the software, but the proper font package is not installed to support the actual characters. Hope this helped!

  • IE 10 and 11 can't display Google Chrome's landing page correctly in RTL languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian)

    Hi,
I’ve been trying to download Google Chrome from the official Hebrew version website (https://www.google.co.il/chrome/)
Using IE11 on Windows 7 SP1 from different computer setups, but every time the blue download box-link simply
didn’t show up. I’ve checked this with browserstack.com and found out it’s not a local issue, and also occurs on other RTL languages such as Arabic and Persian on Windows 7 with IE10 and IE11:

  • I use classical Hebrew for my work, and Pages will only display English characters even with a Hebrew font selected. If I cut and paste Hebrew characters from another document, as long as the font is supported, it will appear in Pages.  If I type it won't

I use classical Hebrew for my work, and Pages will only display English characters even with a Hebrew font selected. If I cut and paste Hebrew characters from another document, as long as the font is supported, it will appear in Pages.  If I type it won't continue in Hebrew.  I have tried downloading several fonts, including those from professional societies, but the only way to get Hebrew in my document is to cut and paste.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I use an older MacBook running OS 10.9.1.  I used to do my Hebrew work in Word, but it is no longer supported by Mac OS.

    Just clarifying:
Pages '09 has bad support for Hebrew, Arabic etc but will accept pasted text.
Pages 5 has much better support but with bugs.
If you have columns they are in the wrong order ie Text starts in the left column and ends in the right column.
If you type English into Hebrew text it tends to fall in the wrong position eg instead of to the left of Hebrew punctuation it goes to the right.
As Tom recommends the only real solution on the Mac is Mellel.

btw Tell Apple, they are amazingly slow to fix this running sore which has been broken since RtoL was supposedly introduced in OSX 10.2.3 over a decade ago.

Nobody knows.  iWorks apps have always had bugs that make them unsuitable for Hebrew/Arabic for most people.  Tell Apple here:

  • Need to include Arabic language on PDF files

I would like to create PDF files that include Arabic text to distribute them to employees in my organisation.
Currently most of the work station have installed Adobe Reader v6.
From what I understand there is an option available with version 8, to include the Arabic font (extended font pack) On-demand with the PDF file.
Does any one know if this is also available to version 6? since I wouldn't want to reinstall Adobe Reader on all of the workstations?
    Thank you in advance

Thank you for your prompt reply,
well, I guess I wasn't very clear, the documents have forms that I need the receivers to fill out. currently they are able to read them but not to interact with them.
The following is from the Adobe Reader site, but seems only applicable to version 8
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html
"Extended Language Font Pack : This Font Pack covers Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese as well as the Eastern and Central European languages (including Cyrillic and Greek scripts). Documents in these languages always have their fonts embedded. Therefore, similar to the previous case, this Font Pack is needed only if the reader of the document wishes to interact in some way with its content - e.g. collaborating, commenting or filling out forms."

  • RTL and Hebrew support for numbers and pages? when will we have the option for that?

Still, after 4 years of IOS, there isnt even one sodtware that supports RTL and Hebrew\Arabic, is there a chance that in the near near future we will see that support in "Numbers" and in "Pages"?
    Thanks...

  • Hebrew and English on the same web page

I am having a problem displaying Hebrew on my web page.
I have figured out how to have the right-to-left display, but when I publish it, the font does not seem to work (I get all ?). I keep going around in circles as to why this is - a dreamweaver issue (character set, right now the page is set to iso-8859-1, but I have tried UTF-8 with the same result), or if this is a compter problem (I don't think this is the issue, as I am able to see the hebrew characters in Word, Dreamweaver (when I am typing), and all other programs.
Any help would be appreciated for those who have dealt with this bilingual program.

There is a Middle Eastern version of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4-ME, with full support
of Hebrew, Arabic, Farsi and other languages,

  • Backwards hebrew in text input

I'm making a 'contact us' page for my website.
    the website is in hebrew.
the problem is, when ppl try to write something, the words get wreten in backwards.
    for example:
    hello I am Tal
    =
    Tal am I Hello
    (But in hebrew)
what can I do to fix it?

There is a Middle Eastern version of Dreamweaver CS5-ME
which handles right-to-left and left-to-right text formating. It functions
just like English version, doing everything English version does
PLUS ability to handle many more languages, including Hebrew
Arabic and other languages. You can open existing English file
within the ME version, so you can continue where you are now.
Another option, which only requires specially encoded Hebrew Fonts.
This involves using existing software and adding these fonts. This
solution is for limited Hebrew work, not long paragraphs. You type
"a" for Aleph, "b" for Bet and so on. However, no right-to-left support
so you have to enter text backwards or using left arrow key between
characters -easy solution but  not intended for extended Hebrew text.
    Two solutions.  TOP option, visit
    http://www.fontworld.com/me/dreamweaverme.html
For the limited Hebrew Font solution, also by FontWorld.com
    Hope this helps you

  • PDFs with Arabic fonts

I got problems with PDFs with Arabic fonts?
    Is it  a frequent??

What specific problems are you having? In the general case, we know that Hebrew, Arabic, and other non-Latin fonts do properly display with the Adobe Reader assuming of course that the fonts are properly embedded in the PDF files.

  • Hebrew problem

When I export a PDF containing Hebrew words, the characters are exported in left to right rather than right to left order. How do I fix this?

You have a few options in Hebrew....   One is preparing extended Hebrew (Arabic) text using Adobe Middle Eastern products, then export to a format that Premiere Pro can handle  OR for Hebrew specifically, especially if its a limited amount of Hebrew text, to use Hebrew fonts encoded for use with English programs. Then you can type Hebrew 'backwards' within English products. This solution is not ideal for extended amount of text. Contact [email protected] for info on these fonts.

  • Is there any way for me to download microsoft office on my macbook air and it will write in different languges like hebrew without looking wierd ?

I can not find how to download microsoft office from the apps in the appstore and have it work in hebrew . i need to be able to write in hebrew and that the letters will not mess up on the page . help ..

MS Office for Mac has never supported Hebrew/Arabic  scripts.  You have to use something else.  Mellel is best, but Pages 5, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, or Open/LibreOffice should also work OK.
