Buying itunes from other countries

Is it possible to buy from Italian or French itunes when I reside in Australia?

Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country...

The store may have issues with the payment, the Fatherland may have issues with the taxes and you may have issues with the shipping costs. But like I said, never hurts to try.
And using a phone to talk to a human can also go a long way...

  • Why on earth am I not allowed to buy music from other countries?

I am from America but am currently studying abroad in Germany. I brought my Mac with me, and kept all my normal accounts. I have heard some really great german music here, and I really want to buy it. But my itunes account doesn't allow me to buy from itunes Deutschland! This is incredibly frustrating! I guess I don't see a reason behind this kind of rule....can anyone help me? Is there any way around it?

create a another iTunes account, using a German billing address, which should enable you to purchase content from the German iTunes store.

  • Buy music from other countries

Will I ever be able to buy music I found ( and really like )that is only available in another country
      Windows 2000

Until the copyright holder's in each country are willing to allow for cross-border sales, probably not. If you don't already know, you must have a credit card with an attached billing address from the country you wish to purchase from.

  • Buying music from other countries

Hi there, I've a problem with an album from India Arie I first found in the EEUU music store, but when I try to buy it, it says my account is only allowed to buy at the Spanish store (where I live), the problem is that this album is not available in the Spanish store, in fact, the albums are completely diferent from one country to another!!

As I read the following post I understood the reason one can't buy outside one's country without a credit card from that country ....
The problem here is the licensing agreements that Apple (and other on-line media providers) have with the music industry. The music industry, in general, do not like the imports, but they cannot stop them. They can (and have) stopped the electronic version.
The problem is this: You have a band TheBand. TheBand are from the UK. They are represented by AnAgency (UK) and RecordLabel(UK). They want to break into the States, so they get an agent there AnAgency(USA) and a record company to distribute their records RecordLabel(USA).
So you see what the problem is. The USA companies do not want to lose any money due to people in the States buying these songs in the UK store. And the UK stores feel the same way.
They all force Apple to only allow sales to people with billing addresses in the relevant country.
This is a very simplified model - but does illustrate the theory...
    I hope that helps

  • Buying books for iBook on iPad from other countries - any ideas?

Can anyone tell me if they have been able to buy books from other countries for iPad if they are not available in their own country.  I am from Australia and want to purchase "Cold Comfort Farm" by Stella Gibbons.  Thanks Elizabeth

If it is not available in your country it is probably because Apple has not yet negotiated the required distribution rights.  The fix is to use another ereader app, like Kindle, Nook, or Googlebooks.

  • Does Anyone Know How to Buy from Other Countries' iTunes

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to buy from other countries' iTunes, because I live in the US and have a US credit card, but alot of the songs I want only seem to be available on the French site.
Does anyone know if theres some sort of way around this? Would it be possible to, say, buy French iTunes gift cards?

No, you cannot due to Licensing and copyright issues, which vary from country to country. Unless you have a billing adress in France, you will not be able to purchase from the French iTunes store. Having a gift card from there will not help, because you need to also have a French Billing adress. Sorry,
    Rachyl

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Songs from other countries' iTunes stores

Why are songs from other countries' iTunes stores not available for purchasing in the American iTunes store? I found a song that I had been looking for in the French iTunes store, but could not buy it. I was annoyed. Is there any way around it?

In order to buy from a certain country's iTMS, you do need
either: a CC with a billing address in that country
or: an address in that country plus a prepaid card/gift voucher issued by iTMS in that country.
If you don't meet one of this conditions, there is no solution for you.
-sorry but the copyright holders wanted it that way; it's their decision to offer a certain track in a certain country or not to offer it.
Tip; This question on how to buy from another country is asked several times a week in the forums. In the future, I would suggest you do a search on your issue to see, if it has already been answered, that way you don't have to wait quite a long time for a response.

  • HT4480 itunes card from other countries.

I made my account in the U.S. so when ever I bought an itunes card, it would obviously say $15 or $25 or $50 and so on. In dollars. But now I'm in a different country. Mexico to be exact. I want to purchase itunes cards but their cards use Pesos instead of dollars. So here is my question: Can I use the itunes cards from other countries on my account even though they use Euros or Pesos and so on? Thanks to anybody that can answer this for me.

No, you can only redeem gift cards for an account that is of the same nationality as the GC you are redeeming.
If you want to redeem for Euros, this will not work in your US store, you'll need to make a whole new store account.

  • Put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?

put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?

i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.

  • Buying music from other stores besides the U.S. one

i want to know how can i buy music from other stores around the world like from japan for instance i know i have a U.S. account but is there away i can buy music from those stores with my account????

This has been covered here many times already, but once again: Apple has no choice in the matter. It's due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders. From This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel) (and thanks to the Mimico Kid for the reference) :
The difficulty of establishing workable business models for digital files (...) extends to where they are sold and where they are played. This is the issue of territoriality, and it is an illustration of how the Internet makes it necessary to reexamine basic assumptions that have been taken for granted (...).
(....) In the music business the primary problem is that copyrights are national and therefore specific rights are tied to national laws and the interpretations of national courts.
(.... T)hough we can one day hope to see the development of common standards with respect to copyright, the fact that the music business is building upon a history of nation-specific contractual relationships means that the goal of universal international standards is not, for the forseeable future, a practical one.
(...) Adding to the difficulty (...) the copyrights themselves may have been assigned to different companies in different territories. The best hope for a cleaner start and a simpler future is worldwide recognition that digital uses are in fact - and should be in law - totally new.
The content owners don't like cross-border sales of CDs either, but there's nothing they can do to stop such sales. They can, though, and do stop cross-border download sales, since if the download stores refuse, the rights holders won't license the tracks to that store.
So unless and until the record companies, et. al, all get together and agree to allow download stores to sell cross-border, there's absolutely nothing Apple or any other download store can do.

  • Is a mini iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular ready to be used with any telephone company including companies from other countries?

Is a mini iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular ready to be used with any telephone company including companies from other countries?

Different countries have different mobile phone systems which work on different standards.  An iPad sold in country C will work with whatever phone systems in country C support it.  It is not guarenteed to work with every mobile phone system all over the world.
