Buying Network Magic in the UK

Hello
I cannot find a uk link to buy network magic online can someone help please.

Network Magic seems to be unavailable to buy in the UK but if you look v closely at their site there is an option to download the old version. This is right at the bottom of their home page. When installing version 4, uncheck the box that says 'Use Advanced Features' and it will work. It offers a 4 day trial. As I already had a license for the old version I entered it to activate the old version and it works!

  • How do I pay for Network Magic from the UK?

Hi, Network Magic was on the software package with my new WAG320N router, I liked the 7 day trial of the pro version, but I'm having problems buying an activation code!
I've tried to purchase online, but because I'm in the UK, my card isn't recognised, which is rare, I've used it on several other US sites. I've tried using Paypal, but there is a server error every time.
I stayed up late and phoned to make the purchase, I tried several times, but every operator refused to accept a UK Mastercard. They told me to go to the store I bought the router and buy the software, which is stupid, its already installed, I just want to activate it! Besides, the store I bought it from, PCWORLD, doesn't stock the software, I've tried!
What is going on? I've emailed the UK Linksys address several times, no answer.
I've tried to give this company some more of my money, but I'm getting very frustrated, any ideas about who to contact would be gratefully received before I give up on the package!
    Thanks from Cornwall

    Hi -
I had the same experience when I tried to upgrade the copy of Network Magic 4 I had purchased r from Pure Networks prior to the acquisition by Cisco. The payment procedure via PayPal failed, and my credit card was apparently refused authorization.
I contacted Cisco and was told that Network Magic (that is, the current version owned by Cisco) was not available for purchase from the EU. This is puzzling, even possibly illegal, and they even added they would not be able to give me the reason.
Does anyone know more about this?

  • How to remove the "Index Page" option from the Router in Network Magic Pro 5.5.9195

I find it ironic and I can click on my router in the Map view of network magic, and the last option is "Index Page".  This immediately loads my router setup in a browser window. It completely bypasses the router login and password.  I do not want anyone to be able to start my PC, open Network Magic, and click this option and have access to my router.  This is stupid.  How do you turn this option off, remove it, or hide it?
Yes, I know, I could put a password on my PC, but I share it, with other family members, and at this time I don't have user accounts setup for them.
I am looking for a solution in Network Magic, not my OS.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Anything you do without submitting to form has to be done on the client side (ususally by JavaScript) using data which has been send already from the server.
With JavaScript you can do quite a bit. You can download tables which don't necessarilly appear on the screen, loading them into JavaScript arrays by dynamically generating javascript. Then you can pick up events like drop-box selection and use these tables to chose what you do next (e.g. preloading other fields, setting drop box content etc.).
Or, you can cause forms to be submitted when actions like a selection happen without the user clicking a button. It's generally a matter of how much data you'd need to transmit.
Another posibility is to use a Java applet, which can generate requests to the server and handle the results as it chooses. That are a number of problems with that but occasionally it's the best solution.
What you can't do is to handle user input inside a JSP. The JSP has come and gone before the user even gets to see your form.

THE COMPUTER NEEDS NETWORK MAGIC, NETWORK MAGIC VERSION 5.0 OR LATER MUST BE RUNNING ON THE SELECTED COMPUTER IN ORDER FOR YOU TO CONNECT TO IT.
Now prior to that day I was about to connect to it from my computer.  I am also still receiving Network Magic reports on the above computer sent to my email everyday.  If the software is not install like the error message says then how is it that  I continue to receive the computer usage reports?

    Hi Chiangel,
If Network Magic is not now installed on the question computer, you need to unsbscribe from the E-mails themselves to stop them.
As for not seeing the computer from the other computer, you need to adjust Vista's Network and Sharing Center, to allow the computers to see each other.
What build of McAfee Firewall are you running?

I have a variety of devices on my home network, such as 1 MAC, 5 Win 7 PCs, 4 Android mobile phones, 1 TV PVR, 1 BluRay Player, 1 TV, 2 Network Printers, 1 iPod Touch. All of them is appearing as the should except one of the mobile phones. It is being recognized as a Win 7 PC and I can not change the type to anything but a PC/Mac. I have tried changing the IP address and also completely resetting the network but to no avail. Network Magic also gives my Android phone (HTC Desire) the name of one of the connected Win 7 PC's. The IP address and MAC address recognized by Network Magic is the ones associated with the phone, not the PC. The PC is a laptop with both wired and wireless connection, but it doesn't help if I disable on or the other or both. I have also completely reinstalled Network Magic on the PC but the problem persists.
In addition to being annoying, the problem also prevents me from administrating a NetGear access point as it only accepts to be managed by the computer Network Magic is associating with my Androd phone. To work around that issue I hope I can do a factory reset on the access point and reconfigure it, but I'm not looking forward to it. I have bought Network magic Pro as my network management sw and would like to use it for that purpose.
    Please anyone - HELP!

Dang! It's been a year since this was posted and nobody is able to HELP...
Anyway, I have the same problem here too... My Verizon Motorola Droid A855 is identifies as computer and Microsoft Windows 7 (workstation). I can't get the other options to categorize it as a cellphone. The thing is my Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray DVD Player appears on the network map and I was able to put it under "Media Adapter," another pc appears  as it should, a Hawking Wireless-G Range Extender as "Wireless Access Point," and a BoostMobile Motorola i1 Android cellphone appears as a "cellphone." So, how come my Motorola DROID A855 is detailed as under my pc name and operating system Windows & Professional? This is weird.
    Anybody has an answer?

  • Network magic connection stopped working last night

    Really need help with this.
My network magic suddenly yesterday stopped working in that it cannot contact the network magic website. This leads it to conclude that the internet is down, even though the connection is fine.  This happened on all three of my computers. My browsers (mozilla and explorer) cannot seem to connect to the network magic website either. A product re-install on one of the computers went fine, but the problem still persists, despite a re-boot. Examined the hosts file manually and there are no entries that might cause a problem. The computers use different service provides and a different router. All three are vista ultimate 64 bit with service pack 2 (recently installed), have spyware doctor, spybot, and live care for security tools (as well as network magic).  The live care firewall has the correct permissions for network magic. The network magic platform service is running properly.
Of course I cannot contact the network magic support team as I cannot access the website - this does not appear to be a known problem (did a search).
    Peter

    Peter,
Not only the Network Magic connection stopped, but if you try to connect with your Net2Go remote access website it's not there anymore.  Not even if you try to connect with your computer that's hosting it.
As I understand it, when Cisco aquired Pure Networks they issued their last upgrade, and with it came the announcement that the latest version would no longer have the Net2Go feature.  Indeed, they could choose to END Net2Go at their discretion.  It would seem that this is the case.  A shame, really.  My clients have come to depend on being able to retrieve their material and email links to their clients as well.  All Cisco had to do was provide a redirect, how much server power can that take up anyway?  It was almost like having a web site, and it cost nothing.  Sure was nice.
According to the End-Of-Life protocols as laid out by Cisco, they're supposed to give warning when there's a system they would no longer support, and they are supposed to get with you to help you ease into the replacement technology and give you several months to do so.  Slamming the door wasn't supposed to be part of it.
So now we have to either go without because nobody offers anything remotely like it (I checked), or we can all get domain names and pay for web sites and hosting.  Thanks a lot, Cisco.

  • Network magic maps work place network but does not allow me to connect

I have network magic on windows 7 home premium  5.5.9195.0 pure0linksys router setup 11.2.9195.1.  I have a DSL connection to the work network with firewall off.
Network magic maps the workplace network and all the servers on the workplace router.  However, network magic says I have to set up network magic on the workplace router, which I do not have administrative access to.
I was able to access the network router without problems about 3 months ago.  Now I can't access the workplace router.

Try to readjust the wireless settings on your router....
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Channel Width to-20MHz and change the Channel to 11...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bit.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...

  • Old computer not working with Network Magic

Hi I am having issues activating my license for Newtwork Magic on one of my home computers the desktop.  I am using  Network Magic Pro Ver. 5.1.9005.0-Pure 0 There are a total of 3 computers on the network.  2 are Dell Laptops with Home Vista.  The third computer is a Dell desktop Precision 330. The desktop is running Windows XP Pro, Ver 2002 SP3, Pentium 4 1800MHZ.  I have  cable internet, Surfboard modem, a D-link router DIR-655.  The desktop has a D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN adapter.
I have installed and un-install Network Magic 4 times but I still recieve the same message and yes i ran a clean disk, manually deleted files and restarted the computer everytime. The message I am receiving is: "The Licensing server could not be contacted.  Please make sure you have internet connection and try again."
I am at this time using the desktop to send this message so yes I am connected to the internet but Network Magic is not acknowledging the connection. On my computer,  a laptop, Network Magic indicates  the desktop is on the network but a alert states that Network Magic is not installed.
    Thank you

Basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.  Have you gone through ALL these steps?  What exactly HAVE you done to troubleshoot your issue?

  • What is the latest version of Network Magic Pro?

I've been all over this site and still can't get the simple answer. The updater in Magic can't be trusted. You would think the  latest version number would be easy to find.

Current version of NM is 5.1, you can download it from www.purenetworks.com/download/
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

I want to buy an imac from the refurb store, but with a magic trackpad. Is it possible to get a magic trackpad with a refurbished imac?

You would have to buy it separately.  Refurbished machines are sold as they were originally configured so you cannot customize the machine when you order it.

  • Is it legal to ban the use of Network Magic Pro for registered users

    Hi
I have a question ... Is it legal to ban the use of Network Magic Pro for registered users
Cisco would he have to propose a solution : patch, reg file or other solution
Because it's certainly enough to modify one or more files to make Network Magic Pro registered ...
    Regards.
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
I'm not sure if it's still possible to create a solution to it. I believe Cisco and Pure Networks (Network Magic) has ended their partnership since last year.

  • How can I modify the router through Vista alone or Network Magic program?

When I connected the laptop wirelessly to the router (WRT120N) for the first time, there was a window that automatically popped up and I was able to change every setting (router password, encryption, security type and key), if I entered the PIN of the router. Now I want to change some settings. How can I get that window again? I've been looking in Network and Sharing Center, but I can't find anything. I also have Network Magic on an old laptop, but I don't know how or where to change these router settings in the program.

You have to install the software that came with the router on your vista machine in order to change settings in there. Or you have to do it manually. Here's the procedure.

  • If I buy the iPad 2 with 3g, can I use it on a wireless network without using the 3g?

If I buy the iPad 2 with 3g, can I use it on a wireless network without using the 3g?

I leave both 3G and Wireless permanently enabled. I find that whenever I am within range of one of my chosen Wireless networks it automatically uses Wi-Fi rather than 3G. When I am not my Ipad2 uses 3G.
So in essence Wi-Fi takes priority over 3G.

  • NETWORK MAGIC UNABLE TO SEE OTHER COMPUTERS WITH NM IN THE SAME NETWORK MAP

I have two computers, one desktop (iMac OS X/Win 7 x64 bootcamp) wired connected and one PC laptop wireless connected in the same network through Linksys WAG320N, both running Network Magic ver. 5.5.9195.0-Pure0 (11.2.9195.1  12/13/2011) with the exactly same firewall settings allowing Pure Networks Platform Service to runs in Private and Public networks. The problem is that the both machines don’t see each other with Network Magic installed and therefore valuable features as screen shots or network speed test are not available. I already uninstalled NM in both equipments and reinstalled it, but the issue persists.
Anyone facing this same issue or have a clue on how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Vertigo

As Barney-15E has suggested, this looks very much like 2 routers, and some systems talking to router A and some systems talking to router B.
Bonjour protocols will NOT cross a router boundary, so systems on router A will only see other systems on router A, and systems on router B will only see systems on router B.
The recommented network setup is to make the router connected to the broadband connection be the ONLY router in the home and configure all other routers so they are in "Bridge" mode. That is to say, the other routers are configured so they just extend the primary router's subnet.
How a home router is put into bridge mode is different depending on the make and model of router.
In your case, I think the Belkin should be the primary router, and you should put the Time Capsule into "Bridge" mode. Applications -> Utilities -> Airport Utility -> Time Capsule -> Internet -> Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode).
Once you put the Time Capsule in bridge mode, all your systems should be on the same Belkin subnet, and now Bonjour will see all the Macs in your home.
