Buying New MP3 Pla

I plan to buy a new MP3 player. I have been reading post on problems that people are having. I am concerned that I?will not have these types of problems. First my computer OS is XP home, service package 3 with WMP . On my old MP3 I could download books and open them?using WMP and transfer to my MP3 without any problems. This was before I had to reformat my hard dri've and reinstall windows. So?WMP 0?is not on my hard dri've and I cannot roll back to it. My question is will my new?Creative MP3 install and work on my system?without all of the problems I have been reading about?

I'd say go for the Zen V Plus. It generally gets better feedback when compared to the Neeon 2. By personal experience, I can say that it's (the V) amazing. Nice and fullly featured, sweet screen and excellent sound quality. The extras make it worth having it as well. Just make sure you go for 4GB. or 2 gigs isn't enough, at least not for me. Some people have had some problems with getting it to work, but I managed to, by rolling back to WMP0 then reinstalling . If you are going to get the V,?I suggest you use Beta 2 of , because the full version won't recognize mine if it's docked for a long time (charging, etc.). Hope this helped, and I hope you enjoy whichever player you plan on getting.

  • New MP3 Pla

I've been researching prices for MP3 Players. Thanks to Cat I decided to buy myself a new MP3 player, but I'm not sure what one I want. I don't have a large amount of music, but I want the space to hold more then 40-50 from my 256 MB TX FM but I don't know exactly what one.
I looked up the Zen Nano or Zen Nano Plus, looked at their prices and figured they were pretty good in CAN dollars, little less without taxes then what I payed for my 256 on eBay, with about the space I want, but I haven't found any reveiws. If anyone has any reveiws on it, lemme know.
    Again, Thanks in Advance

For reviews go to amazon.com and do a search for your player. Lots of comments from a lot of people who have actually purchased the player.
Another place for reviews is pcworld.com
I just ordered a new Creative Zen Nano Plus GB in pink for $69.99US (no shipping, no tax) from amazon.com. If you are ordering from amazon, make sure your player is coming from them, not a third party seller. This way you will have a warranty. Keep your receipt.

  • Need new MP3 pla

Well my 30gb Zen Xtra MP3 player just became a paperweight today- It had been a year and a half since i bought it used so it li'ved a full life. Unfortunately it died with my 0gb of music, 2gb of videos, and other random things (as data). Sad loss- Should have backed up.
Anyway, I'm looking for a new MP3/4 player.. any suggestions? I want something that had a similar interface to my Xtra (with the playlists on the go, unsure if thats rare nowdays), also preferably much smaller. Under $200?Message Edited by gizmofo on 04-30-200707:20 PM
Im looking at the Zen vision:m which Newegg is listing for 75 after rebate.. good buy?Message Edited by gizmofo on 04-30-200707:29 PM

    Hi Gizmofo!
What are your requirements for a player? Essentially, how much space do you need? What features do you want? Do you want to be able to play video, or is it more important that the player is small?
The Zen Vision:M would definitely be a good choice. If you want something a big smaller, check out the Zen V Plus. The interface on both is similar, and both do playlists on the go.

  • Looking to buy a new mp3 pla

My last (and only) mp3 was a Zen Touch 20GB, which I loved dearly. But, alas, the HDD died. Couldn't fix, don't know why I didn't send off. But anyway. Is the menu system/player software basically the same as the Zen Touch (obviously refined)?
I liked the fact that my ZT had 24hr battery life and a nice way to scroll, so can someone perhaps suggest a player with similar advantages? I'm asking here as people will know which players tend to have problems and which are genuinely worth purchasing.
Do any Creative players support id3v2.4 tags, or just v2.3. And do any players support album artist tags? Or will I just have to navigate via album, as I did with the Zen Touch?
One last thing, I'm not fussed about pictures and video, just a solid mp3 player that does exactly that.Message Edited by Dragon on 2-2-200708:39 PM

well, if you liked navigating the touch i would def say go for the vision m: it uses a similar vertical scroller but is better refined, and has a fat battery life as well (always a plus). Although it has photos and videos that youre not interesed (but which you may well come to be soon..), the album art feature is def a bonus and failr sure they can hangle the new tag systems. as for other features im waiting for something that rellly gives the vision m a run for its money - especially its usb host funcionality (brilliant for travlers)

  • A few quick questions about my new MP3 pla

Ok, I like to get to know anything I buy so I decided to come here and ask, I hope you dont mind answering (My MP3 player is the MuVo c00):
) In the instruction manual it says that play WMA file reduce the battery life of your player. Since converting them reduces the size by a fair bit I was wondering if the reduced battery life was worth it and how much it reduces the battery life.
    2) When is a good time to replace the bettery in my player? Should I wait for it to completly die or what because I dont want to go replacing batteries 3 quarters full.
    3) Is there any sound or quality differences between MP3 format and WMA?
    4) Is the program that came with the player the best thing to add music with or would buying something else do the trick or even just copy and paste?
    5) Finally, how do you attach the neck strap? I dont see any place where it could go unless you have to attach it with the arm band on it.
Thanks for your help and I might have some more question but untill further notice this is all I have and again thaks for your time.

. You have to bear in mind this is for an equivalent MP3 e.g. a 28 kbit/s encoded WMA is going to use more power than a 28 kbit/s MP3. Normally WMAs are encoded at a lower rate anyway, hence will use less power. There are many factors that affect battery usage.
    2. Wait for it to go flat.
    3. Complex answer. In general WMA is used when you want more space and aren't so worried about quality, at the 64 - 28 kbit/s range. MP3s (using the LAME encoder) are better at the higher bit-rates of 92 kbit/s. The bottom line is try a few different bit-rates for both MP3 and WMA, take a listen, and decide for yourself.
    4. With the MuVo it's very easy, just use Windows Explorer to copy files. I wouldn't buy any other software, unless you find something you really like to create MP3/WMA files.
    5. Not sure on this one...

  • Looking for a new MP3 Pla

I have a Zen Xtra 40 Gig, curently I only use about .2GB for my music part of it has a old copy of my data dri've. In a month my mother is going away for a few months for cancer treatment I told her should could have my player since she has like 00-200 CDs. If I add her mp3 files to mine I'm looking at near 4-5GB. So I'm thinking of getting a Zen Touch or Zen Micro.
The Zen Touch has a 24 hr battery life, 20 gig dri've however I'm concerned about the internal battery and the unstability of the player. I wish it could be picked up by windows as a Dri've. My brother as had one for a month and it's frozen on him a few times.
The Zen Micro has a 2 hr battery life but it is removeable. A little woried about the small battery size. It is a smaller dri've than the Zen Touch, but more room than I need for my MP3s.
I was wondering if anyone here would have any suggestions as to wich I should go for?

    Greetings.
I would probably go for the Micro. Reasons? Well, firstly - it is a product that Creative still seem to think is important, the Touch does not seem to be as important for Creative, based on their amount of activity on the firmware-side and accessory-wise... If you want to have accessories, the Micro is definately the one to go for. A user-replaceable battery is a good thing (though the Touch battery is also replacable, albeit not user-replacable).
5GBs is not a lot, however...
    Regards,
    Mattias.

  • FIXED - I Guess I Have To Buy Another Mp3 Pla

I have a Vision M 30gb player and for the last couple of months it has been acting up. From freezes to crashes. I probably know what is wrong with it now, but I want to confirm it for real. My VM will not respond at all. I tried to charge it via USB. All I get is a rapidly blinking blue light at the top. Close to two beats a second. I guessing that its burnt out and I have to get another mp3 player, more than likely not a Zen. If anyone think its more to it than that please feel free to express your opinion. Oh yea I had this player for seven months and I don't feel like wasting $25 for something I already know. Besides Creative already has $300 when I purchase it.
    -Thanks
Since I figured that my Zen was dead as a doorknob I preyed it open to see inside. My first suspicions were the battery. So I started to pull it out when sparks started to shoot out I was like "WTF, I thought it was dead" and next thing I know the player is coming on and working like the first day I brought it. So I advise no one to try this at home unless they know what they are doing (I sure didn't) I'm just glad its fixed and I would like to thank anyone who helped out. So Thank You very much!!

If its still under waranty you should get in touch with creativre ASAP, or you coiuld check to see if your covered form the retailer where you bought it from.
In the UK theres a law called the sale of goods act, which holds the retailer responsable for selling faulty goods, and faulty goods can be taken back to the retailer, for a re-fund/reapaiur/replacement by the retialer.

  • New MP3 player needed!! Must have FM recording functio

    Dear all,
Please could you let me know what you would suggest in relation to needing to buy a new mp3 player, (i currently have a zen micro 5gb but need more memory) however i need to be able to use the FM recording function as i record college lectures which are broadcast on the radio to save everyone having to turn up to each class. howver i have spotted though these posts taht this function is being removed. so could people please suggest a sutiable make and also could Creative mods etc please explain why this is being removed. as personally i find this the best feature and is the only reason that i have brought 3 creative products so far and am going to buy more! (i have also encouraged 6 others to but creatives rather than a well known fruity brand of mp3 player!)

So does the Zen Sleek Photo 20GB. I love mine, the sound is excellent, it is a very attracti've looking unit, it has an FM radio and recorder and plenty of memory to save recordings, different screen themes, and as an added bonus, it is the only MP3 where you can use personal photos as screen wallpapers

  • How can i buy new battery for my macBook pro in France

    Hello,
Please, someone can tell me how to find and buy new battery for my 2008 macBook pro in France ?
This one is very old, i already changed this battery one time, i think Apple store of town won't be ok to make the work cause i have made it myself one time before (it has fallen several times, almost broken, means impossible to shut the battery place but still working on). So i bought a battery to a third provider, wich doesn't work of course, try to ask to online assistance but i have to pay 30 € just to ask my question and i doesn't want...
SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION TO CHANGE MY BATTERY ??? HELP !!!
I bought it in 2008. I don't know exactly the serie. Just know it's a 2,4 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo.
The reference of battery is A1281 10,8V 50 Wh. Can't find it on the store. The only one i found was on a website who didn't tell it's was a fake...
    Lost 85 €

Here are the International Apple support telephone numbers:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/he57
I note Egypt is not listed.
Purchasing a battery from a third party vendor is a high risk proposition.  Many such batteries have been found to be substandard.
I suggest that you try and contact Apple and see if you can have one shipped to you.
    Ciao.

  • Does creative plan to release a new mp3 play

5 minutes ago a bought a Zen touch but noticed it was kinda outdated and i would really kick myself in the nads if creative releases a new mp3 player in about a month so are there any plans for a new one (one that just plays music and doesn't have all the extra features like video and pictures).
The only thing that i don't like is the size it is kinda big.
Hope creative has some plans on the near future

Well the thing i didn't like about the sleek it was the battery and the thing it killed it for me is that i have to go to a menu to turn on the volume (i have a lot of songs that ha ve very differnt bitrate), so the only thing i found better was the desing, I kinda hope creative doesn't releases a new player and i kinda wish they would.
I don't want to kick myself in the nads it really hurts!!!

goodnight. as you know apple has evolved considerably until today but there are people who do not have ability to buy new products. in my case I would like to know why the apple do not let the iphone 3g update to iOS 4.3 as are several applications that can not put on my iphone 3g due to this reason. Why does not Apple make a repository with applications for ios 4.2.1? or else do not work in an update to ios 4.3 on iphone 3g?

This has nothing to do with Apple, as Apple does not make the apps.
This is the decision of the app maker.
Contact those app makers and ask them why they do this.

  • Upgrade mac pro or buy new imac

Really need some help here.  My base machine is a quad-core Nehalem Mac Pro running at 3.33 with 8Gb of RAM and using a ATI Radeon HD 5870 video card.  My choices are:
Buy a new iMac 3.4 Ghz quad core i7, 16 Gb RAM, nVidia GTX 680MX, 750 Gb SSD drive (about $3500)
    OR
Buy 16 Gb RAM, nVidia GTX 680 (about 900 dollars)
Is there much of a performance differece between the 2 to justify the difference in cost?

The Mac Pro you own has way more headroom to upgrade for short money.
The 2009 and later can upgrade RAM DIMM modules by the each -- don't buy new memory modules for these Macs smaller than 8GB per module (cheaper than two 4GB). These are as cheap as US$70 + shipping from Mac-Centric vendors such as Data Memory Systems:

  • G4 400: Upgrade or Buy New?

    Hi Everyone,
This is my first post after lurking in the shadows for a while. As you can probably guess I have a G4 400 that I've owned from new. It's getting slow(er) and I'm thinking of upgrading/buying new. I fancy a new Intel iMac but my budget can't stretch to it. Also the lack of CS in Universal is a MAJOR factor. I mainly use the Mac for general browsing etc and CS for Photoshop and graphic design. It's not a work machine so speed is not so important.
I was thinking of buying a G4 Macmini as a stop gap until I can afford the Intel iMac. Would this be better than upgrading the G4 400? See below.
On the upgrade path I was looking at: More RAM, CPU upgrade to 1.4MHz, bigger harddrive (I already have a 2nd 40GB drive).
What graphics card can I upgrade to? I'd like to be able to run a 2nd monitor if possible.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Steve

Hi i've just upgraded my Sawooth G4 to 1.4Gh Sonnet. It flies now! There used to be long waiting times in between rendering in Photoshop (but i'm used to it, then), but now, the spinning beach ball rarely make an appearance.
I was like you a few months back, and lots of people/friends adviced me to get a Mini instead. I'm glad i sticked with my G4 and upgraded parts, one at a time. I'm a Graphic Designer too. Though i'm using Photoshop 7, Illustator 10, Freehand MX, etc... Basically older versions.
Next up for me will be a Pioneer 110D, and i'm looking for ATI 8500 or 9000 through ebay. And maybe, just maybe a SATA card and HD.
