  • Free upgrade to CS 6 (student version)

    Hello,
When I buy student version of Creative Suite 5.5, then buy upgrade to CS 6, I will have full commercial version of product (without any restrictions), right?
So, if previous sentence is true, I have question about buying Creative Suite 5.5 student version with free upgrade to CS 6. Is the free upgrade the same as upgrade "from previous sentence"? If I buy student version of CS 5.5 with free upgrade, will I have (after free upgrade) full commercial version of CS 6 without any restrictions or it would be only CS 6 still student version?
    Sorry for my English.
    Thanks for answer.
    JJ

I guess I just expect more from Adobe. I kind of expect an email with my serial number when CS6 is available for purchase. Aperture had something similar (buy now and upgrade for free when the next version comes out) and that was immediate. Granted, Aperture is Apple, not Adobe, but I don't feel this is too much to expect.
Yes, I know I can use the trial, but I shouldn't have to. It's the little things that make a company great. It's the ability to pay attention to detail (little things like a simple serial number when a product releases) that make a difference.
I used to love Adobe (or parts, I've never been a huge fan of Dreamweaver or Flash). I adopted to InDesign when everyone said it would never stand a chance against Quark — I even went to toe to toe with the owner of the design studio to defend it. I would spend hours learning the new stuff in Photoshop. I'd lose sleep the night before CS was scheduled to arrive on my doorstep. I don't know if the company just got too big or it lost its way, but it's really too bad.
It's not just the serial number, it's the fact that InDesign still doesn't match Photoshop and Illustrator (and those two just started matching), it's the 5.5 releases that I thiink most of the community agrees was a sad excuse for a paid upgrade, it's the constant excuses of why Adobe can't play well with OS specific features (like Lion full-screen compatibility), it's the website that has some major flaws (like the <div class="LayoutHAlignItems LinkStrong"> below this field as one very quick example).
I don't expect Adobe to be perfect. I don't even expect Adobe to be on par with Apple. I do expect Adobe to be better than companies like Panic (no offense to Panic, they do a great job, but Adobe has quite a bit more resources at hand and really should be so much better).
Look, I know you're either an Adobe employee or someone who is still very much enamoured with their products, and until a serious competitor comes out, I'll still be a customer of Adobe. I just wish Adobe could catch up to the rest of the industry and, even more so, I wish they could be a company I could love again.

  • How can I buy a student version of Design Standard?

I have downloaded a trial of Design Standard cs6 and I would like to activate it as a student version. When I click on the link to buy the software it tells me that I can't buy it in my country. When I go to the specific NZ page and click the link to buy it (this link exists, therefore the software should be available) I am sent back to the US page. Everyone I have contacted at adobe seems to think that the free trial I downloaded came on a disk and won't tell me how to buy a serial number. Is there any way to actually pay for this software? Or should I just give up on Adobe altogether? At this point it's looking like it will take weeks to get hold of legal software.

Have you tried going to education store at http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/software._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software _sl_mostpopular.html?marketSegment=EDU?  You may also want to review the Education FAQ - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html.

  • I wish to buy a student version

As the parent of a student, I notice that there is a choice box to buy the student version.  Will I get the discount as his parent and if so how do I submit proof etc., or does my son have to place the order with his own credit card, etc?

You can use your credit card details to make the purchase but use your son Adobe id to register and fulfill other details.

  • A question about student version upgrade

    Hi everyone,
I do know, that student version is only for noncommercial work, and while i'm just a student, i don't wanna take that risk that I might get commercial work to do, and I would't be allowed to do it.
Now what I've got in my mind, is that i would first buy cs4 design premium - student version. Then I would update it to the commercial version (CS4).
The question is, can I update CS4 student to CS4 commercial, or do I have to wait until CS5 is to be released.
And IF I can upgrade from CS4 student to CS4 commercial, does it cost the regural upgrade price? ( ~790€ ).
I know that student version has full upgrade rights, but on the "whats egible for upgrade" it doesn't mention CS4 (for obvious reasons, usually people don't want to pay to upgrade to same program they have), but somehwhere in the european FAQ (here http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/faq.html ) there was mentioned this
Can I upgrade from a Student Edition?
Yes, a Student Edition can be upgraded to a commercial version.
Now it is not clearly stated, that can we upgrade from later version to more recent one, or can we upgrade recent student ver to recent commercial ver
Location: Europe, Finland, so before you north americans tell me that I can use student version for commercial work, i'd like to say that It doesn't work that way in Europe.
Thank you for your time, I hope someone has a clear ansrew to me.

  • Is it possible to upgrade from Student version Lightroom 3 to a private Lightroom 5?

I'm trying to find out if I can upgrade from my student version of Lightroom 3 to a private version of Lightroom 5, or do I have to buy the whole version of Lightroom 5? I would like to be sure about which to buy before I make a purchase and obviously make a saving if I can just purchase the upgrade.

You can simply buy the upgrade, no need to buy the complete version.

  • Can I legally use for commercial purposes the Photoshop CS6 Extended Student Version?

Can I legally use for commercial purposes the Photoshop CS6 Extended Student Version or do I have to get the Photoshop CS6 Extended normal (commercial) version? I want to make a game and I'll use things created in Photoshop, like images. And I'll sell this game, so I'll get money with it: it's something commercial. Do I have to get the commercial version for that or can I use a Student's one?
And can I make what I need to do in a trial version and then pay the license before selling the game or it's obligatory to have the license since the beggining?
    See you!

    TheNextRiser wrote:

You can start work on your game from the moment you download and complete the installation of the Trial version.
No-one will be standing over you watching what you do or monitoring you remotely or noting when you pay for the software.
You can buy the software at any time during the Trial period. However, after a maximum 30 days of using the Trial, you will have to pay to keep using the software.
Other than that, do what you like with the Trial.
(If you somehow finish the game after 20 days of using the Trial then you can start selling the game even if you have not yet purchased the software.)

  • Is there an option to upgrade a student version of Acrobat Pro?

I am looking at buying a student copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI but don't want to do that if a new version is coming out this year and then end up paying for it again. Is there an option to upgrade from one student version to another student version? I would really like to purchase the software as soon as possible.

    Consider a subscription.

  • Student Version Cs4

I am student and will graduate in the next year.  When I graduate, will I still be able to use the program or do I have to buy an actual version?  (in other words since I have to prove that I am a student, will my student validation still be needed for the activation of the product after I reinstall it or graduate.)
Another ? having nothing to do with a Student Version Cs4.  Is it true that you can't export a movie in any format with a 30 day trial version Cs4 premiere?

I agree with John T. As he is an academician, he knows a good deal about "student/academic" versions of many Adobe products.
In years past, there were some limitations in the EULA on doing "commercial work," but I believe that those have been dropped. There were rules governing upgrade paths, but I think that many of those have also been dropped.
When one is speaking of various suites, it might not be quite so easy to get full details, but depending on the configuration of the suite, you should be able to pick out the major components, ask in those appropriate fora, and get pointers to current EULA's for those. I would assume that they will dictate the restrictions and limitations of the total suite.
I will not comment on what used to be, as much has changed. One needs to check now. Also, I'd follow John's advice to check with the licensed resellers of academic versions. Once, FAXing a student I.D. was good enough, like showing same at the school's bookstore.
Whatever you do, go through a licensed, academic reseller, whether you school's bookstore, or from an licensed academic Web site.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is there a student version

is there a cheeper student version of this programme i realy need it for my studies but its sooo expensive i would have to sell my self to just buy the box. yetr a great programme

You should have a card which allows you to access the NUS website here:
    http://www.nusonline.co.uk/
From there you can use special links to the Apple Store which has discounted prices online.
Alternatively you can use your student card in the Apple Stores I believe.

  • How can I update my student version AF5.5 and Premier5.5 to use with Mavericks

    hello,
I need to update my Production Suite apps 5.5 in order to be able to use them with Mavericks. There is no option to do it from the app. I have a student version, still in college.
    thank you

Yes, i know it doesn't. My question is - how can I still be able to use Af and upgrade to Mavericks. Can I buy the AF6 upgrade, if I have a student version? Adobe customer support is non existent.
    Thank you,

  • Where is the $99 Student Version

I have several students looking to buy the "$99 Student
Version" of Director 11 as discussed at GDC and in the Magicgate
Podcast, but we are unable to locate it in the Adobe education
store - only the $299 version. Anyone have ideas?
    Thanks!

I posted this reply via Usenet a few days ago, but it seems
doing so yields a post that is only viewable by others who use
standard Newsreaders, not those who read this forum. So please
    excuse the (possible) repetition:
I usually buy my academic software from online retailers. I
just checked a few of my usual sources (where I've purchased
    Photoshop and Lightroom):
AcademicSuperstore.com has it listed... But for $294.95
    http://www.academicsuperstore.com/product/search?qk_srch=adobe+director&x=0&y=0
    JourneyEd.com has it also. $298.98
    http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?ItmNo=741631033
    campustech.com shows it at $294.85
    http://www.campustech.com/academic-product/adobe-director-11.0-shipping-late-march-win/236 39.html
The other company I've dealt with, sprysoft.com, still shows
    only the
old version on their web site.
So it would appear that the anticipated $99.00 pricing scheme
isn't in effect yet. (I also have students waiting for it.)

  • CS4: window does not regain focus

This happens using Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7 RC. (Untested on Windows XP, Vista.) Does not appear to be an issue with Photoshop CS4. If DW is in focus and you click on another program's taskbar icon twice it does not re-focus the DW window, which
