Buying TV podcasts

I would like to buy TV episodes from the iTunes store in the US. But I am not located in the United States. If I were to open an iTunes account using a payment address either in the United Kingdom or Switzerland, will I be able to purchase TV episodes from the US iTunes store or will I only be able to purchase from the UK or Switzerland store only?

Thormod.RK,
You're welcome!

Firstly, there's no feature yet, not even in the US, where you could use iTunes to download HD movies. Only via Apple TV!
Thormod.RK asked:
I suppose contacting Apple doesn't give me more information either? (Considering they're kind of hush-hush initially about new services...)
Right. However, you may want to leave feedback, by filling [this form|http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html].
Hope this helps!

  • If i buy a Podcast will all my iTunes songs on my library still be there?

I really want to buy a podcast. But yet i have heard that people have bought podcasts but there songs in their libary have gone. Does this mean that when i get a podcast my songs from the libary willl be gone?

As far as iTunes and your iPod are concerned, a podcast is just a song. No, it doesn't erase your library.

  • Live in Italy and want to use the US store

I live in Italy, but I want to buy/use podcast and apps in English. If I try to can my settings to USA, the program was a US credit card. i want to pay with my Italian card but buy English products. As soon as I pick something on the US site, it opens i tunes and says it cannot find this item in the Italian store.
    thanks for your help

Sorry, but to use the US iTunes Store you would need a credit card with a US billing address. The content owners will not allow cross-border sales, so you have to be a resident of the country whose iTunes Store you wish to use.

  • I have a big problem, I don't know what I touched but when I open up my iTunes I can't see all the icons. The only icons showing are "podcast, iTunes U and Downloads" so in other words I can't find the movies, music etc. Which means I can't buy/rent!

Not all content types are available in all countries - in each country Apple can only sell what they are licensed to (and in some cases what a country's laws allows them to). A list of what is available where is shown on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599

  • Best audio gear to buy for adobe audition to make audiobook & podcast & elearning screencast ?

what is the best audio gear to buy for adobe audition to make audiobook and podcast and screencast video tutorials?
I will work alone with one microphone only in my bedroom.
    Thanks

I'll assume that initially you won't want to spend a fortune, but also, you won't want stuff that you will later regret purchasing. And to do this sensibly, you'll want to spend a bit more money on the microphone than on the external sound device.
For a microphone, you could do a lot worse than to get a Rode NT1-A complete vocal recording solution. With the kit, you get a mic cable, shockmount, pop shield, a bag for it - and also a tutorial DVD, but you can safely ignore that... The kits are generally available at quite a competitive price, and Rode microphones have a good value-for-money reputation. You'll still need some sort of a stand, either desk or floor mounting - but they're easy to find.
For a sound device, you could consider something like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface. This has all the useful bits you'll need - like the ability to plug a pair of headphones into the front for direct monitoring. Focusrite kit has a good reputation, and isn't overly expensive for what it is. This is a basic solution that would actually let you use two mics if you wanted, so there's a little room for expansion if you need. If you want to spend less money there are options like the Tascam US-122 - but I'd personally spend just a little more on the Focusrite - they have better mic preamps.
Yes you'll need a pair of headphones, but here the choice is rather up to you, although I'd recommend that you look at Beyer and Sennheiser for clean consistent results, although they aren't the only ones. You need closed-back ones though if you use them near the mic - something like the Beyer DT-250 is a good choice, because they have replacable leads, and the feed is into one side of the headphone only - and they're comfortable.
Since I don't know where you are located, I don't know what this is actually going to cost you, but it's good basic kit that should last you for a while, and produce decent results without spending a fortune. Yes it's possible to spend a heck of a lot of money on stuff like this, but the law of diminishing returns sets in quite early, and you can get remarkably good results these days without spending a lot at all. There are a few brands that are generally better avoided, like Behringer. Nothing wrong with Behringer electronics, but they economise on their hardware, and invariably things like sockets stop working, and knobs fall off. Oh, and they use cheap level controls etc, and these become noisy quite fast. You get what you pay for - it's cheap but it won't last long before you experience trouble.

  • Canadian podcast, US parent company and IP, do we need to buy two accounts?

    Hi there,
We are the Canadian branch of a US company. Our podcast is from Canada, our interview subjects international, and our IP address from the US. I am only able to access US iTunes store from work and therefore only able to upload to the US iTunes store. Will this affect our searchability on the Canadian store?
Can we resolve this by also buying a Canadian podcast account? Is there something we can add to the keywords to make this available in both stores?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    NS www.booklounge.ca

However, any user reviews will only be available to the particular country's store they were posted in.

  • What is podcasting producer is? Can i buy it? or I need a special server? Really I need help

I want to make Podcasting, but really I don't understand when my system say you need a Podcasting Producer and it requires a server name, so my question is do I need to buy a server? What kind of server do i need?? Or what do I need to know to make my owns podcasts?.

The Podcast Producer and Podcast Capture packages were retired a while ago.  They're no longer part of the current OS X versions.
Unless you're hosting the podcasts from your own Internet server either for your own local users on your network or hosting them publicly on your own network connection (and that chews up your network bandwidth, as well as requiring you to manage a server), these (or similar) packages are (were) not necessary.
As for creating podcasts, use GarageBand on your OS X system or on an iOS device, then upload the finished podcast to the site you're hosting the podcast at; to Apple or whatever other entity is providing the hosting.
There are some podcast creation how-to links on the left side of the Apple Podcasting web page.  There are probably some podcasts and videos on this topic around, too.

There will be no problem when:
-the license for Logic Pro 7.2 is saved in the XS-Key
-your friend transfers the right for the use of the software to you - oral or written.
You should be able to register your software but I think your friend will have to report the sale to Apple himself and give them the particulars. As a registered Logicuser you're entitled for software upgrade.

  • I cant remember the answers to my itunes security questions. Therefore i cant buy any new apps, films, podcasts etc. Please help.

I cant remember the answers to my apple security questions. So it wont let me buy anything on the itunes or app store. Please help.

The option to send reset info will only appear if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you aren't getting the option then that implies that you don't have a rescue email address, and you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use.

  • Would you buy a theme without blog or podcast pages?

Folks, I'm doing a survey here. I don't know how many of you follow the custom iWeb theme conversations, but I've found a way now to make complicated iWeb themes for 2.0 at a pretty fast rate. The only problem is, the method for doing it does not work for blog or podcast pages. I can make simpler themes with blog and podcast pages, but complex layouts can't be done without shear torture.
So my question to you is this, would you be interested in a great theme that didn't have those pages? How many of you need blog/podcast pages? I'm just trying to see if a template without them would fly. In stead of those two pages, I'd provide two additional page layouts... like an online store layout and a product detail page.
    Thoughts?

Ah, well that was an enthusiastic yes. What kind of sites do you build where this might be a nice option?

  • Apple tv not showing any movies or tv shows to rent.very confusing as music and podcasts allows me to buy media but in movies and tv shows I can only view trailers. Any tips please!? Other than reset.

    Helppppp!!!!!!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check that you have your location entered correctly in the iTunes Store settings.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds.

Check and see if you've bought any iTunes Gift Cards you don't know about
Fraudulent iTunes Gift cards are used to make purchases but are associated with a hijacked account so that if traced it's that account holder who'll have to deal with the problems. It was a form of "laundering".
It's one of the reasons iTunes had stopped issuing those $200 gift cards about a year back since that's one of the uses for them ( The other reason had to do with why you don't, if you're sane, continue with gift card numbers after someone cracks the algorithm. ).
Another problem was with debit card numbers, usually swiped from a restaurant or Pub, being used for iTunes purchases in the U.K. ( You can find out about that by doing a search of this forum since it was also heavily posted. ) and to buy gift cards for a one time use.
If someone just hacked his account or his account was compromised further and his debit card number it out in the wild then sudden surprise purchases from the iTunes Store maybe his first warning.
He has to check his account further.
