Buying TV Shows and Movies on Apple TV

Up until now, I have been watching rented and purchased movies / TV by downloading to my iPad and then hooking my iPad 2 to my TV with an HDMI adapter. I decided to get Apple TV as my husband will be traveling on business for the next week and is taking my iPad with him.
I installed the Apple TV last night and got it configured with my wifi, Apple ID / iTunes ID, billing info, etc. I then tried to purchase a TV series. It appeared to work (asked me to confirm my billing, etc.). However, when I looked, it didn't show up in my Apple TV purchased items. I thought that maybe I have to wait until at least one episode has fully downloaded. But I checked my iTunes account today, and it doesn't show that anything is available to download, and I haven't received a receipt (though I often get those several days after purchasing, so that doesn't surprise me).
Am I missing something here? The instructions with the Apple TV imply that you can purchase and download straight to Apple TV (without using AirPlay from iPad or Home Share from computer) - but it is very vague. I am trying to avoid having to use another device - I use iTunes on my work computer (not home laptop) and as I mentioned, I will not have my iPad available next week. Am I going to have to install iTunes on my laptop and do Home Share?

If you have a half-way decent Internet connection, it should have displayed on your TV within minutes afterwards. I can't explain what happened.

Apple can only sell in a particular country's store what the content providers/rights-holders grant them licenses to sell. You can try requesting that they be added to your country's store, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell them there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
Have you checked to see if they are available on other film/TV programme apps that you have access to ? e.g. is Netflix available in your country and have they got them ?

I just got apple tv. I have downloaded a lot of TV shows and movies on my mac, which I have deleted over time. Now I find them all on my apple TV, which clutters it frankly. How do I get rid of these old shows?

ITunes TV Shows and Movies (UK)

Why am I not seeing TV shows and Movies in the UK store yet? I think it would be brilliant as TV is full of crap here, I'd be able to watch what I want, when I want, all in one place.
I watched the latest webcast "It's Showtime : Apple Special Event" held in San Fransisco, brilliant revision news about media for apples - however this sort of thing builds up my hopes only to dash me down as I live in the UK. Some things aren't here yet.
An idea about movie and TV show downloads is that i need subtitles which is something I look for when purchasing movies in an entertainment store. something which has no mention in any of the iTunes stores. Maybe quicktime should have this capability built in (I'm not sure if it has already!), this way I would be very compelled to make iTunes store purchases if movies and TV shows appear here in the UK.
Does anybody know anything about this or have any thoughts??

According to the keynote and followup coverage, Apple hope to provide Movies/Videos in international markets (including obviously the UK) by the end of 2007. From what I can gather this means something like September/October.
It has also been revealed recently that apart from Japan, Asia as a whole will not get getting iTunes Movies. However as far as I am aware the only Asian country with a store listed is still Japan in any case.
I already find iTunes tracks too expensive on the store (compared to a full CD quality physical CD on Amazon), so I don't expect to buy movies/videos even when they are available on the UK store. However what is of interest is what the BBC are going to do. In theory they have to provide programs free to UK citizens (since we have already paid via the TV license). This would be technically possible by the BBC pricing them at £0.00 on the UK store and $1.99 on the US (for example).
The current mechanism the BBC uses is iMP which uses Windows Media Player (for Windows) and therefore does not support Macs.
Hmmm, just noticed that Amazon's Unbox does list Dr. Who (from the BBC) at $1.99 per episode (not per story), however as Amazon's Unbox is not available in the UK (yet) we still don't know what policy the BBC are going to adopt.

I think mine are all still in alphabetical order, but :
* movies I deleted from my library and told "hide this purchase in the cloud" are showing up again. If I try to play them, I get the "cannot find the file in its proper location, would you like to locate it" error message.
* for movies that have "iTunes Extras," the extras show up as a separate item, with another copy of the movie artwork. Most of these I believe I had DELETED the "iTunes Extras" anyway.
* Items are showing up multiple times.
* A few MUSIC ALBUMS are listed in my Movies section.
* Some movies (I believe ones that I deleted off my HD but are still in the cloud) are showing random album covers instead of their proper artwork.
* Just rented a movie, and it didn't show up anywhere in my library. It downloaded properly and completely, was in a suitably labeled folder in my iTunes/Media/Movies section, but didn't show up in any section of the library (or via a library search). Had to manually find it and tell it to open the file using iTunes.
Running the latest version, even checked for updates. No other changes made lately since the last round of apple software updates. This was wonky before the latest small update to iTunes - now it's even wonkier. And it is very, VERY effing annoying.

Some of the newer shows and movies on my IPAD 2 show "cannot open content not authorized"

All of my library plays on my MAC and Apple TV, but some of the newer shows and movies on my IPAD 2 show "cannot open content not authorized" . If I download them directly to my IPAD they will play. iPad and MAC are all up to date. I have restarted the IPAD 2 and MAC multiple times.

I have the opposite issue. I play my tv shows and movies on itunes off my computer but all I get is the audio. The picture shows up in flashes every couple of times but does not stay on. I have the most recent Itunes (7.6.1)available and am running Windows Vista. Any help available?

I apologize for the confusion. This was literally the only option on Apple's "Contact Us" section that I was able to access. I assumed that Apple's clear intent to have me go here instead of speaking with someone in live time, and the fact this is on the Apple website, meant I could get some advice... Both over the phone and online they require information I need to see my screen to provide so those are not options. I tried to bypass this when calling through Skype. Some lady who didn't know what was going on, who I waited a good while to speak with, put me on hold; I gave up after 30minutes of waiting to speak to somebody again.
I've stumbled upon a few tricks to help me get through this problem, but I'm at a loss. I need this phone to work until late December. I need more tricks. So yes, it's worth understanding. Knowing what is going on will let me Google it and work with it, if nobody here is willing to help...
And yes, it IS a glitchy phone. It has been a glitchy phone for a long time. Long before this. But completely unrelated issues. I was assuming this wasn't just a glitch but something maybe somebody could help me understand.

TV shows and Movies won´t start, only loading and then nothing

Suddenly TV Shows and Movies won´t start on my Apple TV. After purchasing, it starts to load and then nothing. It loads for a few minutes and it says it was "unsuccesfull". I have tried to restart the Apple TV and the WiFi. Please help!

No; TV shows and movies are currently only available in the US. Apple says it hopes to take movies international in 2007.

Where can I get tv show and movie content to download to my Pre?

Since I can't buy and sync tv shows and movies from iTunes to my Pre due to the DRM protection, where can I get similar content on the web that I can buy, download and copy to my Pre in USB mode, and that will then play on my Pre? I've looked around, searched on google, but nothing comes up. I can buy and download TV episodes on Amazon video on demand but the Pre isn't one of their supported video players. There must be sites that I can use?? This is the one thing that I want to get working on my Pre as I've solved most of my other issues, and am very happy with my Pre, with this one exception. Please help!

Thanks. I did check out Sprint TV but it's pretty limited compared to iTunes TV and movies. I did find a video format converter for the Pre called Videora Palm Pre converter but I haven't tried it on anything yet because I'm still looking for download sites. I'm going to try it on an Amazon download. I found a subscription site but I'd rather find a site where I can buy programs one at a time.
There must be some sites out there - I've tried torrent sites but usually you can only download entire series of multiple Gb not individual episodes.
Any further advice on this would be appreciated.

Why cant I download TV Shows and Movies

I recently purchased an iTunes $50 voucher to purchase TV Shows and movies off iTunes and I have been told that I cannot because I am not in the US. I have just wasted $50 that I could of went out and bought box sets when they came out.
I want to know why and if i can download tv shows and movies out of the US ( i am in australia), I bought a 30GB video ipod to watch the TV Shows and movies, but when I found out I am disgusted that we cant do it.

Sorry, but as has been said here many times already, the movie studios (so far only Disney and Paramount even in the US) have not licensed Apple to sell movies outside of the US. There's nothing Apple can do unless and until they're granted the rights. When, or indeed if, this will happen, no one can say, though Apple has said that they hope to be able to offer movies internationally sometime in 2007.
As to TV shows, there have been no indications if, much less when, the show owners will ever license Apple to sell them outside the US.
Again, sorry, but we'll all just have to wait and see.

I used to be able to view all cloud and downloaded content. I no longer can.

There used to be option to show items that are in the cloud in your library, but I can't find where that now is (unless it's been removed). You should be able to see what items that you can re-download via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (at the top right of that there should be a 'not on this computer' button)

    Currently, i have a requirment that, in the same screen, when user choose different different option in the dropdown list, there should be different screenelements and table control with different columns showing below it.
Now, i have two plans below:
1), hide/show and move position of screen elements and table control at runtime
2), call different subscreen
I hope i can take the first way since the second way will modify structure of program ( As it is infotype screen ), any one knows how to implement the first solution?

I would suggest you to call different subscreens and load them dynamically based on your parameters.Since different subscreen are called your coding and functionality could also be seperated by writing in the PAI and PBO of the correspondiong Screens.
if you have decided to go by your first method then try the below code.
a) if it is normal UI elements like text box etc
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF <var> = ' value '.
        screen-invisible = '0'.
        MODIFY SCREEN.
endif
ENDLOOP.
Here <var> refers to the screen field name and value refers to its value.
b) To hide columns in a Table control.
DATA cols LIKE LINE OF tc-cols.
LOOP AT tc-cols INTO cols.
    IF cols-screen-group1 = 'G1'.
      cols-invisible = 'X'. "HIDE THIS COLUMN
      MODIFY tc-cols
      FROM cols
      TRANSPORTING invisible.
    ENDIF.
    CLEAR cols.
ENDLOOP.
PS: here TC refers to the name of the table control.
