Buying TV shows from iTunes USA

I live in Canada and I really want to download some shows from iTunes(USA). Am I able to do it just by using those pre-paid cards that they sell at Best Buy? Or do I have to give them a credit card number? Can someone help me???

This has been covered here literally dozens of times, but once again: the content owners do not allow cross-border sales from any of the legal download stores. You must therefore have legal residence in the country of the iTunes Music Store you wish to use. So in order to buy from the US iTunes Music Store, you must (as proof of residence) have either:
a) a credit card issued by a bank in the US with a billing address also in the, or
b) a mailing address for your residence in the US and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in the US.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from the US iTMS. The same applies to any other country's iTMS.
This, again, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.

Well, I'm not exactly sure where your "here" is (UK?). However, I'm guessing it must be outside the US. If so, the only way you can buy from the US iTunes Store is if you 1)Have a US credit card with a 2)US billing address. Otherwise, you'll have to wait or find another source. The rights holders control when and where music can be released and Apple is required to abide by that.

First of all I know this is the wrong forum for this topic... however the itunes forum isn't moving half as fast... Anyways I was just wondering if anyone knows when the itunes music store will be selling tv shows in Canada or if they ever will, because right now I believe it is only in the U.S.

No one here works for Apple and we can't speculate when Canada will get TV shows to buy. It's up to the US networks and Apple to license outside the US and Apple's ability to work with networks in other countries.

This is not a decision made by Apple.
It is made by the copyright holding music or television companies and is part of the contract with the recording artist or program producer. They make the decision as to what territories are distributed to and what territories are left out.

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:

A song I wish to buy is on iTunes Switzerland. I cannot find a link from iTunes USA to get to any international iTunes store. Any ideas how to get there?

I live in Switzerland and I would love to be able to download TV shows and music from original artists, not cover bands. You want music from the Swiss store. I live in Switzerland. If you can download some stuff for me in the US I will be more than happy to download the equivelant value of items from the Swiss store.
The Music industry ******* and moans about lost revenue from pirated music downloads but we actually want to pay good money, hard earned CASH, so I think it is not only incredibly narrow minded and short sited of them to restrict the market in this way but also incredibly stupid on their part.
Of course that's just my opinion. What happened to "the customer is always right" phylosophy?

Can't use Apple ID to buy TV shows on iTunes?

I tried to buy and download a British television series through iTunes, but it said I'm not authorised to download it with my Swedish Apple ID. It switched me over to the Swedish Apple Store, where the tv show is not available. How can I buy TV shows from the "American iTunes Store", which for some reason contains British shows? Thanks.

You cannot use the UK iTunes Store without 1) being physically present in the UK and 2) setting up an account in the UK iTunes Store, either a new account or by converting your Swedish account, either of which will require you having a UK-issued credit card. The same would apply to the US iTunes Store; you'd have to be in the US and have a US credit card.
So if you live in Sweden, you will not be able to buy any content not offered in the Swedish iTunes Store.

You've checked the purchase history on your account by logging into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option - that should include a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it which you can click on to see a list of your purchases.
If nothing shows there and you haven't added or changed your credit card details (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days, though I believe that it's Rs 60, not 50) then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie. Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with. The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad. You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.

Bought my daughter a 4th gen nano for Christmas. Also purchased a TV show from Itunes some time back.
This TV show has been in Itunes for months, and is on my 5th gen Ipod and plays fine, but will not import to the 4th gen nano.
Here is what I have done so far:
1.Plugged the nano into the computer, highlighted nano, clicked TV show tab, clicked the TV show we wanted to sync, then clicked the sync button.
2.I downloaded a sample movie into Itunes from the apple support site, and it won't import into the nano.
3.After researching, I downloaded and reinstalled Itunes and Quicktime both.
Nothing seems to be working.
Funny thing is, there was one music video that imported from Itunes to the nan when I first registered and set it up, and it plays fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

My 13 yr. old daughter solved this problem, and successfully imported the TV show to her Ipod.
She tells me she has no idea how she did it, she just did it.
So, although I guess my problem is solved, I'd still love to know what the answer is.

Are the items you are trying to delete, located in the iTunes media folder shown in iTunes prefs > Advanced?
Do you have Keep iTunes media folder organized checked? If not to either of these, iTunes will not delete them.
Per your instructions above, the item will still be listed in iTunes.

Drew how is that even possible? I use gift cards all the time, any time I've had insufficient funds iTunes will not allow the purchase, sights Insufficient funds and rejects the purchase. Any time I log into my account the money in that account appears in the upper left corner. If you're not seeing that then you have other issues. Anyway... Kneil is right you should be able to rip CDs you own to your iTunes library (regardless of your money matters with iTunes), then depending on how you set up the music you need to add it to your playlist and then sync it to your iPod. Did imported music ever work? How are you ripping or importing the music to iTunes? Are you using a compatible format?
Something else to look at-- It's possible your cable is defective, have you tried a new or different cable? Some of what your describing is a bad cable issue. Good luck, Cheers.
