Buying used GPIB/ENET100 card. What software must have with it to configure and use. Have LABView 7

Actually, I believe the drivers that are available on the NI website are licened for upgrades only. If the hardware came with an NI-488.2 driver, you can upgrade that to the latest version with the link above.
If your purchase did not include a software license (the hardware is sold separately from the hardware due to single- and multi-user license options), you need to purchase a license of NI-488.2.
http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=10622〈=US
The part numbers for the single and multi-user license for Windows are 778598-02 and 778598-01. Other operating systems are listed as well.
If you have any confusion, you should contact NI to confirm licensing issues.

Was the iPad originally set up on a different computer, and hasn't been synced to the one that you are now trying to use ? There are some instructions on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
(Before trying that you could copy any important files/documents off the iPad so that you have you own backup copy of them e.g. depending upon what the apps support then email them to yourself, use Dropbox, copy them to your computer via your wifi-network.)
You should be able to copy iTunes purchases off the iPad and over to that computer's iTunes via File > Devices  Transfer Purchases, but if you have music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) which aren't in that computer's iTunes (and you haven't got a backup to copy them onto it from) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For recovery mode, that will result in your iPad being put back to factory defaults i.e. all of your content will be removed from it

I Have a past due balance from
buying gems from a game I played since my paypal account cant cover it I can no longer download any apps til the bill is paid I have already purchased an iTunes card that comes with redeem code. Did I buy the wrong card or is it possible to pay bill using itines card ?

Prepaid cards or gift certificates should clear the balance, yes. You could also put in a credit card to pay off the balance, then remove the card information once the balance has been cleared.

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

Can someone verify the following regarding Find My Phone:
I assume the lost device (iPhone) and the device (ipad) one uses to find the lost item must have identical Apple IDs , PWs as well as identical iCloud identification?

Back now.  Are you saying that you entered you iCloud ID and password in the Find My iPhone app (see photo below), and it said you don't have an iCloud account?  Are you sure this is the ID for your iCloud account (check Settings>iCloud next to Account at the top on the device you are trying to track)?
Also, did you try using this ID and password on icloud.com on your computer to try to track it, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442?  Did that work?

  • I do not see the security lock in the lower right corner, so I do not feel safe using my charge card. what happened to it.

There used to be a small padlock feature in the lower right hand corner. When I upgraded to the latest Firefox, it disappeared. Now I do not feel safe using my credit card. What happened to it? How can I get the feature back so I can know it is a secure site?

In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.<br />
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.<br />
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.<br />
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.<br />
    See also:
    * http://www.dria.org/wordpress/archives/2008/05/06/635/
You can click the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar to see the padlock if there is a secure connection.
A click on the "More Information" button will show more details about the connection.
The background color of the "Site Identity Button" on the left end of the location bar will change color (blue or green) and show the domain in case of a secure HTTPS connection.
    * Hover the [[Site Identity Button]] then to see "Verified by xxxx"
    * Click the "Site Identity Button" on the left end of the location bar to see the padlock
    * Click the "More Information" button in that pop-up to see additional information about the connection.
You can use this extension to get a padlock on the location bar.

Please explain what you mean by "Buy for a 2011 card" and what you did before you saw that message.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject.  In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

  • Which IPod to buy my wife please? What do you have?

    Hey Kids,,
Last Ipod I bought was the 5th Gen Vid, around 2006...my wife wants a new one as the dial isn't responding well. Most of her use is audiobooks, like 90% of why she owns one..I know nothing about the "touch" or Nano, also GB must be fairly high as most E-books have as much data as a feature length film. I'm not worried about saving, I'm a tech Geek and never go cheap on my electronics..based on that info, can you offer suggestions which I should look at please? What do you have? Do you like it? The drawbacks?
Thanks so much for your valuable time..
    Wyattspoppa

That all depends on how much she is willing to learn. The iPod touch would be a great option capability-wise, but it might be a steeper learning curve coming from an iPod video. So really, no one knows your wife as well as you do, so the best thing to do is to visit an Apple Store or another authorized reseller and let her spend some time with each iPod hands-on.

  • What attributes must have a loop-ready audio file?

Hi! I perform songs for video production and have doubts about how must I edit my songs so as to be useful for video production, specially when they have to be looped.
A few days ago one of my files was rejected because it has a tempo of 99.9732 bpm instead 100 bpm. How much precise does the tempo must be? Does it really matters?
Do video producers really need the looping properties to be embedded in the file info tags (wave properties)? Like Loop info, Sampler tags...

No they don't, and on top of that, they are being complete ***holes, by the sound of it. Fortunately there's a fix that should work:
Go to File>File Info>Loop Info and set it to Loop. Then edit the number of beats in the piece (you will have to play around with the decimal place values here) until the grey tempo box says exactly 100 beats/minute. Then save the file (this updates the metadata) and resubmit it.
I don't think it's easily possible by ear to estimate tempo to within 1 bpm, never mind a couple of decimal places, so you are absolutely going to get away with this!

  • Are Macs still Anti-virus strong? What software is good with OSX

    hi all
I've been a long Mac user and read and heard that Macs are not proned to viruses.
Are Macs still Anti-virus strong? What anti-virus and fraud alert software is good with OSX?
    Thanks
    Web dude

At this time there have been no confirmed Mac OS X viruses (subject to the semantic debate about whether the iChat exploit is properly classified as a virus or a trojan horse and not counting the Word macro virus that can affect Office v.X or non-updated copies of Office 2004), very few trojans and no adware or spyware. I therefore do not feel that antivirus or antispyware software is necessary at this time as long as users are careful about what they download from the Internet or accept as attachments via email.
It's never wise to become complacent, though, so security precautions are not wasted. Such security precautions mostly are common sense: don't download and run files from sites you don't know, don't double-click on attachments in emails you aren't expecting and/or from people you don't know, and make sure you password your system and keep that password secure as well as not having your system available and unattended (which also is a precaution against theft). In addition, it's possible for someone to inadvertently forward a Windows virus or worm to a PC user though you'd have to do it manually and said Windows malware cannot infect the Mac.
In addition, it's possible for someone to inadvertently forward a Windows virus to a PC user though you'd have to do it manually, and said Windows virus cannot infect the Mac.
If you do decide you wish to run antivirus software, I think that the donationware clamXav should be more than enough provided you remember to scan your system from time to time.
If you are running Windows on your system, either via BootCamp, Parallels Workstation or another solution, then that copy of Windows is subject to all the myriad exploits common to the Windows world, so you need to take full precautions, including running both antivirus and antispyware software.

  • Using a "fopen" call in a DLL made with MatLab for Labview

    Dear Sirs:
My name is Juan Crespo and I write you from Spain. I answer if you could help me with a Labview problem. This is the problem.
I want to write a DLL for being used in labview, and i want to use matlab for write this DLL. I have been searching in the web and reading the NI "using external code in labview" manual in order to know what I must do.
I know that if I want to use MatLab, I must build a "wrapper function" to avoid the different data type between MatLab and C. I have found on the web -Thanks to Alberto Sanchez- one example about how could a DLL could be written.
But it exist one diference: I want to read a plain text file that has the input data. so I must read the file, store
the data in an array and then pass this array to the "interface functions" but in a simple example this dont works
My question is ¿How could I open a text file in order to use it as input data in a DLL in Matlab?
Attached to this message is the code I use as "wrapper function". when I compile it there is no apparent errors, but when I try to use the DLL in a VI, an error appears.
If I change this code and the input is made "manually" (using the VI) there are no errors. So I think that problem is in the way that Labview consider "fopen" function when I build a DLL. The "num.txt" file, where the data input are, is on the same directory that dll file and VI file.
I hope that you can help me with this problem.
Thank you very much in advance and please sorry for my bad english
    Best Regards

    Dear Juan Crespo,
normally I don't answer questions concerning Matlab because I have no experience with it. But your question was waiting a long time and had to do something with DLL I decided to look at it.
Your C code has a serious error. You are declaring a variabale named "in1" as "double *". You do not set this pointer to point to a variable. Then you use this uninitialized pointer in the fscanf function to read in from the file. The value is written somewhere in the address space at a place where "in1" is pointing randomly. This will cause an error or crash.
Declare "in1" as "double" like you have declared "out". You must change some other places where you have used "in1".

  • Must have LabVIEW installed on your computer to call a VI from SignalExpress?

I am a student trying to finish up a class project, so I'm hoping for a solution that's not too time-consuming, nor expensive.
My problem is that I have a device that outputs a 9-pin RS232, and I just learned that I can't really connect it to my DAQ device (USB-6211) through just ground/tx/rx pins. I was told in the forums that if I get a USB-RS232 converter (because my laptop doesn't have RS232 ports), I might be able to create a VI in LabVIEW to use as a user-defined step in SignalExpress, which came with my DAQ device.
I don't have LabVIEW on my computer; however, I do have access to it on school computers. If I create a VI on another computer, specifying the appropriate COM ports and whatnot, will I be able to import it into SignalExpress on my computer despite not having LabVIEW installed?
Or, does anyone know if there's any way I can use the RS232-USB converter and find that comport directly in SignalExpress? I've looked in the help, but from what I can tell, SignalExpress communicates directly to the USB-6211, and not to any other COM ports I might have on my computer. This would be a much simpler and easier solution, if it were feasible. Thank you!

    Hey Hyenah,
I think Chris from the last forum answered the question quite well with the knowledge base article.
You should be able to use the labVIEW run-time engine, and then follow the Knowledge base article to make it work.
