Buying using Apple ID credit

I loaded a gift card a while back on my iTunes and now I would like to buy something with that preloaded credit, but I don't know how I would go about doing that.
I have tried just clicking buy and it says it requires billing info, when i go to fill it in I choose the option of redeem a gift card, then it asks me for the gift card code. I have thrown the card away because I didn't think it would be necessary to re-enter it if the money is on my apple ID already. Please tell me there is a way to do it without having to re-enter the code ***** not being able to use it.

My interpretation of Steve Job's letter is that you could not use the credit for purchases at the iTS. It refers to "a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store."

Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.
And/or try contacting iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Why can we not use available store credit to buy apps?

Recently I decided to stop using my credit card with the Apple iTunes store, as it seems that everytime I make the smallest purchase, I get dinged 2-3 times for the same purchase, then have to deal with Apple to get a refund for the over-billing ect.
I recently went out and bought a 100$ card and added it to my account. Worked great, been buying music left right and center, rented a bunch of movies. All great. Even love seeing my remaining balance right in iTunes.
Havent seen any problems except for the fact that you cannot use said store credit to send a gift to someone - you must bill it to your cc which is a pathetic move if you ask me. But no big deal.
But with the launch of the App store, I decided to try out an app or two.
I am using an iPod Touch.
Found a nice little solitaire game for 7.99$. A little pricey, but what the heck.
But again, you cannot use store credit to buy apps?
There is nothing I can find either on the site itself about the App store, or on iTunes, that says you can ONLY pay with Credit Card.
I should be allowed to buy anything that iTunes offers, with the card I bought.
Its called an iTunes Card. Not an iTunes Music Card. Not an iTunes Movies Card. Not an iTunes TV Shows Card.
iTunes Card.
That means if its available in my store (ie. Canadian), then I should be able to buy it plain and simple.
Apple, get your act together and get this fixed. Bad enough you let Rogers dictate the cost of the plans for the iPhone 2.0 Launch, and lost hundreds of customers before you even launched the **** thing - dont alienate customers who don't want to use credit cards on the store due to the terrible billing system you use.

You can give feed back to Apple from the iTunes drop-down menu in the iTunes menu bar..

Do I need an international credit card to buy on iTunes, or may I use a regular credit card?

I don't have a credit card but I know a friend who has one, but it's not internacional. It's a regular credit card, from Portugal.
I wanna buy an app which is paid and I wanna know if I can use that regular credit card to purchase it, or if I need an international credit card.
I'm new to Apple, just bought my first iPhone last week and I'm still seeking for help about everything around Apple's world.

The shipping/billing address is right, and once iTunes only asks me to input the credit card stuff I guess it doesn't really need to be mine.
All I wanna know is if the credit card used on iTunes needs to be international or not.
If this helps to make me more clear: when I wanted to create a PayPal account, I called my bank agency and they said I needed an international credit card to be used on it. That's why I'm asking if I also need that kind of CC for iTunes.

When you enter the Developer program, you have to leave the internet in a sense. You are entering a business relationship with Apple. That is why developers have to submit personal information and cannot act anonymously unless they have a legal right to do so (via a corporation). You wouldn't want to put a successful app at risk by violating the Apple Developer terms of use which clearly state, "The Apple ID and password you use to login as a Registered Apple Developer cannot be shared in any way or with any one."
Furthermore, choosing to develops apps under a female name is, unfortunately, going to attract attention to begin with. It shouldn't matter, but it does.

Confirm you payment info as this is how itunes verifies your account.
