Buzz sound in my laptop left speaker

i have pavilion dv6 notebook pc with windows 7 home premium installed on it. My problem that i have a buzz sound comes from my left speaker when i play songs. That's happened when i was playing music and hearing from headphones then electricity went off and i was plugging the laptop without battery. When i reboot my laptop the sound wasnt good so i restored my pc to factory settings and the problem isn't solved. Note: before i did that factory settings restore, i've made a minimal system recovery a week before it.

Hi,
I am not sure why you would run your laptop without a battery. The sudden loss of electricity might have damaged your laptop.
Insert a commerical music CD and see if you get the same noise.
Do you have the same issue when the battery is installed?
Try wiggling the headset connection with the headset being plugged and unplugged and see if that changes the speaker sound.
Try your laptop on a known good electrical circuit.  A faulty ground or neutral wire can cause a similar buzz or hmmm. If you are using a surge protector or UPS then remove those items from the connection path.

What model laptop is this? Does the issue occur when you use headphones? If you could give me some more details I will be able to give you some more suggestions to resolve the issue.

  • Laptop left Speaker audio not working

    Sir,
I have dv-5 1102 tu model laptop, in that left speaker audio not working. But, in headphones & Speakers have no problem in both left & right audio.
    Kindly do the needful

    Hey @KKVK ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your left speaker is not working on your dv5 notebook.
If the headphones are working it would tell us the sound card is fine. The same properties are applied to the speakers and the headphones in your audio control settings.
You could try a system restore to before the issue started to make sure it's not something in the operating system. To perform a system restore see the following guide: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) or Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7).
If this fails I would suggest contacting HP Phone Support to send the notebook for service. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the following link to get the support number for your region: Phone Assist Worldwide.

  • Sound only workin from Left speaker

I have the speaker set of SBS 260, and the sound has worked perfectly fine until recently, where it is only coming out of the left speaker :S
Im not sure what the problem is, whether its a driver problem, or the speak is broke.
Any information will be greatly recieved.
    Thanx

  • Sound only coming from left speaker.

I recorded live music last night from a soundboard in a music hall. The new belkin tunetalk pro on my ipod g5 worked really well and was easy to use. Problem is I did not have the right kinda hookups. I need two 1/4 plugs that converted to one 1/8 mini jack. so i had one 1/4 to 1/8 mini and they gave me a great sounding feed but it's only on the left as in the left ear. i downloaded to to itunes. actually it did it as soon as i pluged the ipod in. i did nothing. the sound guys said i should be able to split to right and left with something like garageband software. i impoted into GB and now i still have the great sound coming out of my left speaker and nothing on the right unless i choose mono 1 or mono 2.
my question is how do i split this and make the recording come out of both speakers? the file in garageband has 2 wave zigzag lines. one on top of the other. i'm sure there's a way but so far i've not found an easy fix on apple garageband support groups but i've not asked either. tonight i will have the right connections so will see how well a rock show records. last nights was an acoustic show with a guitar and vocal mic

You can't really make a stereo file from a mono recording.
Stereo needs two mic/2 channels in the recording phase. The best you can do is set the track to mono so it comes from both speakers, or create fake stereo by using two tracks and offsetting one of them slightly and panning each track to the side some. It won't be stereo, there will be no center, just Left and right

  • Output sound moves to the left speaker randomly

Howdy. I have a weird issue. I just installed the new firmware, everything is fine, except i went to test the sound vloume before and after the firmwre upgrade to see if it actually went up. After the upgrade I noticed that my speakers werent aligned properly, so my volume test was pretty much a failure. no big deal. BUT this isnt the first time that the speaker orientation of whatever has migrated to the left on its own. I once thought the headphone jack was broken cause i could hear sound only mostly in the left. and then i noticed a day after that the left speaker was louder too. I went to the sound preferences and seen thatthey were changed. I didnt even know this option existed so it wasnt me who changed it and no one uses my macbook but me.. This was 2 weeks ago. Today I found that the same thing happened again and it was all shifted to the LEFT.
Anyone know what is going on? I'm not changing it. Is there a shortcut key I dont know about that could be doing this? Is this happening to anyone else? Maybe everyone should check to see if its already like this, maybe thats why its quiet for everyone. It's significantly louder when the speakers are centered, i just dont know why it jumps..

Since I posted the question I have found my manual and do see what KC is talking about but what is the pinhole next to the earphone jack then?  its not labeled in the manual, as far as I can see.
    It certainly is labeled.
    Open the link I gave.
    It is the "Top microphone"
The other is the "Bottom Microphone"
Both are clearly labeled in the manual.

  • Dropped iPhone on floor and now when I make outgoing calls I hear a constant buzzing sound, when i turn on speaker it goes away, turn speaker off and the buzzing returns.

I dropped my iPhone 4 on floor and now when I make outgoin calls I hear constant buzzing sound, when I activate speakerphone it goes away only to return once the speakerphone is deactivated.  Help!!!

Sounds like you need to take it in for repair.

  • Why does the sound orient towards the left speaker?

So, occasionally the sound on my computer orients itself greater on the left side of my speakers. I never tell it to change from the centered, balanced position. I notice this change primarily when using Itunes or DVD player. When i notice an odd crackly noise, i check my sound configurations through system preferences, and find to my surprise the sound is favoring the left side of life. Is there a way to lock this configuration to prevent unwanted fluctuations, like in some other setup panels? Or, does anyone have any bright ideas why my computer prefers to play sound from the left?

  • Analog to digital: sound is only in left speaker, but I want it in both

I converted an old VHS tape to digital with my digital camcorder and imported it to iMovie. However, the VCR only had one audio output, not two for Right and Left. I tapped into the left (as I could only do one or the other).
Now, all my sound only comes through the left channel. I know the video will not be stereo, but is there a way I can get sound through the left and right channels?

Hmmm, I'm afraid this may be a lost cause. Is there really no way to simply make the movie mono instead of stereo with iMovie? The suggestion of using QuickTime didn't work for me, as I described above, but I found a way to accomplish the same result wih iTunes. The problem is, first off, this seems really hokey to have to go through so many steps, in different programs, just to make the sound mono. Secondly, when I import the (now mono) audio back into iMovie, it will be very difficult to make it sync up perfectly with the video. Multiply this task with about twenty or more clips, and it will be very time consuming, and likely to have audio that does not match perfectly with the video (which is simply not acceptable). Is that really the best (only) way to get the sound to come out of both speakers?

  • Sound out of only Left speaker

I've got an 2006 black MacBook that's been out of Apple Care for over a year now and this is the first major problem that I've had with it since AC ran out.
I literally closed my computer to go to work, after watching a couple of youtube videos, speakers working fine.
I get back and all of the sudden only the left side of the internal speakers is working.
I restarted and ran OnyX, but still only getting sound from the left.
    What's going on?

    never mind, it's working now.

  • T61p has awful static/clipping from left speaker

    Hello all,
I just got a T61p (6457MM1) today and love it (well, I love it after I turned off the "Beep" driver that was making the keyboard beep every time I typed "around".)
The only problem with it is that the sound out of the left speaker is, well, crap. It clips, there's a static sort of sound, it generally sounds awful.
I have the latest version of the sound card drivers as listed on the Lenovo site. I have run Windows Update and installed all of those.
I searched the Internet and found some people [http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=261186] who are reporting this same problem and that it occurred due to a BIOS update. Given that this system is brand new (and that I've run through the ThinkPad updater too), I'm confident it has the latest BIOS.
Is Lenovo aware of this/is there something I can do?
The easiest way to hear the problem is to open the Sound Control Panel. click "Configure", then click Test. You can hear that in the test tone, the left speaker sounds substantially worse than the right. This occurs at any volume.
Also, I wanted to set up the password reset service questions, in case I ever forgot my BIOS supervisor password. I set it up in the BIOS, but the help text then says to run the "Create Recovery Media" program from Windows? I ran that program and made the CD, but it didn't ask me to set any questions and if I look in the BIOS again it still says the status of the password reset service is "In Progress".
I wanted to burn a set of recovery discs, but I can't, every time I try I get an error message that says "The files required for creating the rescue media cannot be found," then "An internal error has caused this process to fail." I am talking with my sales rep to try to get a set of recovery discs sent to me since the program to make them isn't working.
Is there some other way to establish the password reset service questions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I own a T42p since 4 years now and has always been working like a dream, except for a harddisk failure. Since I did create a backup to CD/DVD I was able to restore my Windows XP environment without much trouble. I subsequently updated my laptop with WIN-SP3, updated BIOS etc etc, and updated all Thinkvantage software (e.g. RnR 4.2, Client Solution 8 etc etc).
I also 'updated/repaired' the MBR, based on a Lenovo defect based on the same error, but didn't solve the issue.
Problem: I have not been able to create a new complete CD/DVD backup set.  The error message from RnR is "The files required for creating the rescue media cannot be found," then "An internal error has caused this process to fail", as StarmanDX excperienced.
I can continue to create the backup, but I cannot create the corresponding boot disk.

  • Sound out of only 1 speaker

I have the iPhone 3GS and starting yesterday I'm only getting sound out of the left speaker (my left). Any ideas what could be the culprit?

There is only one speaker. The other one is the microphone.

  • No sound out of my right speaker

I'm not getting any sound out of my left speaker through anything, music/calls/etc. No sound whatsoever. Is this supposed to be this way? Is this covered in my warranty? If it is, when I send it in, are they going to just replace the part or send me a brand new phone?

That is because the grill on the left of the iPhone isn't a speaker, it's the microphone.

  • Macbook buzzing sound?

I have a Macbook 3,1 with Leopard 10.5.5 and I just realized now that my Macbook has this buzzing sound near the top left of the keyboard.
Is this normal? I have searched a couple of forums explaining it is a common issue for Macbooks. Is there a fix for this? My fan is idling at 1800rpm taken from using smc fan control and istat pro.

    Mine does that too.
    I think it's normal, well I hope so :S

  • Rear left speaker doesn't work on X-FI XtremeMu

So I bought this X-Fi xtrememusic..No doubt it works fantastically in gaming and pinpoints the source of sound really well..Well what's my problem? this POS X-Fi doesn't emit any sound from rear left speaker..my speaker isn't the issue here because I tried it with my $0 sound card and rear left speaker works FINE..how the hell $30 worth sound card can't do/perform something that even $0 sound card can do...give me a break Creative...this **bleep** is going back to the store if there is no solution to this.. I've already wasted 2 hrs of my life just trying to reinstall/uninstall newer/older version of their bloated drivers..no avail..What should I do? I'd like to keep this card as it is the best gaming sound card out there right now....
    Any one?

This is getting me pissed now. I have the Fitalty version and everything working fine at first, except for the stuttering in HF2, but now in Game mode only my Front right speaker doesn't work. I do have all the latest drivers on my system and Creative. I only lose my right front speaker in game mode, I swap to entertainment and everything works fine.
I agree with the above poster that its a driver issue, I do know creative has always lacked in that dept (decent drivers) so I have no reason to believe otherwise now.
I've tried alot of various things and sorry for not listing them all, nothing has worked yet.
