Buzzing and stutter during video

Hi,
This has been going for some time now, I hoped that it would get better with an update or something but it didn't. (Graphic Card and Sound card Drivers are the latest. Checked motherboard drivers with MSI Live Update 5)
The problem is, when watching video, video stops (stucks) for a second and a buzzing sound comes then it continues. It happens again 4-5 minutes later. Wasn't that bad at first but it kinda makes you go mad after a few months. :D
I searched the net and found that DELL Laptops have a similar problem and generally their problems were fixed by installing "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers.
I checked MSI's page for P55-CD53 and find "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver" but when I try to install it says
"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."
So I have no idea what else to do.
My computer specs are in my signature, anything else I'll try to answer. Thanks in advance.

This problem has been bothering me for some time now.
I recently bought the graphic card, 8gb ram, cpu fan and overclocked my system. (2 weeks or so)
So the problems predates the overclock, graphic card and ram. after buying the new graphic card, I did a clean driver install (removed prevous graphic drivers and reinstalled).
and it was the latest drivers back then and it still is. But I don't get what you mean by "all graphic drivers".
I uninstalled the nvidia driver and reinstalled it. Is there anything else?

Try a hard reset first.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button
until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo appears after a few seconds,
and then the Home screen.
If that doesn't work, try a restore of the device in iTunes.
Otherwise, does this skipping and stuttering only happen with certain tracks? What format are these tracks in and where they come from (outside of iTunes or from the iTunes store itself)?

Adobeflash player ver. 11.8.800.94.0 keeps stopping and starting during video. How do I correct this

The newly downloaded version of Adobe Flash player 11.8.800.94.0 keeps stopping and starting during video presentation. I have to keep mouse cusor moving on the screen to prevent the video stopping. The previous version I had did not have this problem. Nothing else has changed on my system. What is wrong here and how do I correct it?

Video gets weird green image every now and then during video??

Whenever i bring a video from my JVC Camcorder into Adobe it does something weird. I will start playing the video then there will be a flash of gren then go back to normal.. It also isnt the best quality either. HELP

Ipod Classic 160GB crashes and reboots during Video playback :S

I recently brought a film on itunes and have watched it on my computer and it works fine, i have also tested its playback on 4 other video ipods but when i try to watch it on my ipod classic it crashes and reboots after about 20 minutes, however i can click the select button and get past the crashing point and the film plays fine. Can anybody help? i also have 4 other films on there that work fine its just this certain point on the movie.

just wondering if you were using Vista ( Nvidia drivers) with SATA drives. I have the same problem as you and i thought it was a problem with my ipod touch. My friend has an ipod touch as well and i tried to copy the file to his ipod and the same problem occurred. played for about 10 minutes and crashed both ipods, sometimes back to menu other times reboots to apple symbol.
I Copied the same file to my ipod classic and there were no problems. played perfectly on my other ipod. I tried 3 other files and same thing happened everytime. I cant get any video files to play without rebooting the ipod touch.
I then copied the same files to my laptop with an IDE hard drive running XP and it works perfectly.
Dont know why or how i can fix the problem but i now only transfer video files on my laptop instead of my brand new super fast Vista PC. could be the PC is trying to transfer files too quickly and they become corrupted somehow. Its very annoying but the workaround works until a solution is found.

HT204380 Unable to message during video chat since new iOS update. International connection isn't always great and needed to message during video chat but am no longer able to. Any hints.

SSince updating iOS I cannot message during video call on FaceTime. While calling internationally the connection stinks and I would rely on messaging until the audio would work again. Did this option get eliminated or do I need to take another step to use it. It was simply tapping the chat box at the top of the screen previously. Thanks for any assistance.

This Log states Error 8 (Near the top)
Error 8 is a bit of a catch all for everything that ichat can't label to some other cause.
All the way though the Log sticks with port 16402 (Good) and does not vary (it is actually supposed to try a random port).
The CSeq (Call Sequence) never gets beyond INVITE
In fact this si the SIP invite that is Behind the Scenes after the Buddy Accepts the Visible Invite part.
Specifically the second line here is supposed to move on to read "TRYING", "RINGING" and "OK"

Are both ends using UPnP in their routing device ?
If you have an Apple Base Station of any sort then this has Port Mapping Protocol that needs to be Enabled.
The log looks like a router was using Port Forwarding (The listing or Port pointing at one IP (Computer) ) and that the IP of the computer has changed.

I have a new Macbook Air 2012, Apple TV 2 and I have tried wired and wireless connections both result in stuttering during video airplay to the ATV2.

I have even bought a new Airport Extreme Router just to confirm it is not the router and it still didn't help.
I have brought all items in the same room with wired connections and still same issue.
I was thinking maybe ATV 3 might help since it has 2 wifi antennas and faster processor.
Have tried everything I could think of.
This was one of the main reasons I bought a Macbook Air for this airplay feature. Very frustrated.
Any thoughts; any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also disabled Norton Firewall and restarted the Air and Now I'm able to use Air Play.
I know that the Apple remedy said that to do that in the support article, but I totally forgot I had that enabled..
It actually works. I can even stream to the Apple TV now through my MacBook Air.
BTW, Go into setting under the ATV, and click on update...you'll see that there was another update avaialble for the last gen of ATV...
It does have to restart twice..I guess once to download and and nother to apply.

is it possible to zoom in and pan trough video files during playback on iphone 3gs? I know that there is a zoom inside accessibility inside settings but is it possible to use that during video playback? Sometimes during playback I need to enlarge some parts of video in a way to read numeric settings or something similar.

Yes. Three-fingered double-click to turn it on or off. Three-fingered drag to move the zoomed image.
Sometimes during playback I need to enlarge some parts of video in a way to read numeric settings or something similar.
The video will have been compressed for use on the iPhone, so zoom may help, but it won't be able to show detail that was lost in the compression.

I just upgraded to imac 20" and I had never had this problem with my old mac. The old mac seemed to be smoother than this one.
The only difference was my 1 TB external hardrive is linkup using USB 2.0 this time round since I've not purchased the Firewire 800 yet. Does using USB 2.0 cause this problem?

I noticed something from my previous iMac. When I drag the cursor from left to right, there is no sound when I'm dragging. Thus, that makes me think that the absence of audio produce smoother flow. How do I disable the audio while I'm working on the viewer then?

Newer movies pause and stutter with my 80GB iPod

Just curious if anybody else out there has had this problem: I purchased a few new TV shows on iTMS (I'm assuming these are 640x480 programs). One was the History Channel's "Revolution" and the other was a collection of stand up comedians from Comedy Central.
The TV shows/movies stop, stutter and freeze up during playback when set for TV output. (If I'm watching the movies on my iPod directly, everything plays smoothly....this problem only occurs when I'm trying to watch programs on a TV). Now when I say these movies stutter, freeze, etc. I'm talking about the video. The audio continues to play normally. It's as if the iPod can't handle the 640x480 video. I've noticed that older iTMS content (320x240) plays normally with no video freeze.
Related notes: Using latest software updates. And I'm using Apple's AV cable, and video settings are correct, so that isn't the problem. The iPod isn't connected to anything (laptop, dock, etc) and is simply running off the battery.

I bought my the 60GB iPod early this year when it first came out. I also bought the Apple "iPod Universal Dock", the Apple Remote, a standard S-Video cable and a stereo-mini-jack to RCA cable. I connected the audio cables to my receiver and the S-Video to my HDTV.
When I watch music videos I downloaded from iTunes Store, it plays fine (although resolution is low at 320 x 240). Yesterday, I bought the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie from the iTunes Store and downloaded it to my iPod.
When I played the movie on my iPod while docked to the universal dock, the video would often freeze for about 5 seconds, but the audio continues fine. When the video comes back, it stays sync'ed with the audio and I can continue watching the movie fine. This happens about every 5 minutes or so.
Is this because the movie is higher resolution? Is the iPod just not powerful enough to play the higher resolution movies from iTunes Store?
Anyone else have this issue?

Freezing with iTunes 7.6.1, thumping sound,especially during video playback

Hi,
Has anyone noticed a decrease in system reliability after upgrading to iTunes 7.6.1, especially during video/videopodcast playback in iTunes on their MacBook Pro's?
Specifically, the entire system locks up. Reminds me of the days of OS 7.5.5 when the mouse cursor freezes, keyboard stops responding. The only way to proceed is by holding down the power button.
This has occurred about 4 times now. The trackpad will become unresponsive, keyboard buttons such as caplocks and nu lock will be unresponsive too. Most interesting is that the sound output will loop, usually a short bit of the last audio played back over iTunes.

Here's a video I recorded showing the thumping noise. It sounds like the last audio dump before the crash looped. It's not coming from the hard drive. Definitely from the speakers.

In the video you see I had World of Warcraft up, but I don't think it is the problem, because this kind of crash has occurred while using other programs.

I never had such a complete system freeze until about the time I updated to iTunes 7.6.1. Repaired disk, permissions, cleaned up virtual memory, cache's using AppleJack.

First, create a new user account and see if you can replicate the problem on that account.
If so, start by killing all the running daemons that aren't OS X-native apps. In other words, Window Shade X, Application Enhancer, divx, etc. Quit all that junk and use Activity Monitor to make sure those apps aren't running background tasks. I'd be willing to bet that Application Enhancer is the culprit.
See if that solves the problem. If so, you can add the applications back one by one until you find the one that's causing problems.

IPod 5G Freezes during Video Playback

iPod freezes during video playback. Does anybody else have this problem?
Usually freezes up about 10 minutes into a video, and then complety locks up. This usually requires 2 to 3 restarts untill it comes back working properly.

Mine does the same. It really only happens to me when I try to navigate thru menus when video is playing. I usually have to do a forced Reset. I truly think that introducing video on the iPod was not ready for primetime as it is very sluggish, buggy and sensitive during playbabck of video. No problems with music whatsoever but I am frustrated with the very finicky video qualities of this thing.

Can I disable plugin-container.exe in 20.0.1 and still stream video?

When I try to stream TV shows with Firefox, I receive high Firefox disc usage warnings from my Norton antivirus. I believe this is due to the gigantic plugin-container.exe that Firefox apparently runs the Flash player inside of. When I look at it in Taskmaster plugin-container has been using 150 k + after just a few minutes and continues to go higher the longer I watch. If I continue to watch without doing anything, eventually the video begins to stutter and then stops while the sound keeps playing. My system slows down to the point where it takes 5 min to stop the player after clicking the control, and a half hour for my system to process the commands to shut down Firefox and restart.
I've been able to work around this by putting the AV into extended Silent Mode to save CPU and by closing the browser after each and every episode, then reopening it again. Obviously this isn't an optimal solution.
I tried shutting down plugin-container using the Taskmaster but this also killed my video. When I closed the window and restarted the video, the plug-in-container came back. In this current version of Flash 20.0.1 is there a way to disable it forever that will also allow me to stream video? IE8 didn't play nice with web pages but Firefox isn't playing nice with video streaming. Is there a fix that doesn't involve a new PC?

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. We know the problem isn't with Flash because I was running it without huge background files or lock-up up while using IE8.
Installing an older version of Flash isn't an option because newer versions resolve some of the memory usage and flickering problem that older Flash versions caused on the new Hulu site. Some sites also require the newest patch and return an error message if an older version is detected.
I'm not sure what protected Flash mode does or doesn't do and hate to mess around with Flash when we already know it's been running without issues on my system using the other browser.
What I DO know is that the problem only started occurring when I made the switch from IE8 to Firefox. This weekend I had it happen again when I only had Firefox open and the Norton AV running out of Silent Mode in the background. Only the Flash thumbnails on the Hulu home page were active, not the Flash player and I started to get slowdown and lose mouse control.
I posted the issue over on the Norton forum also but don't expect a workaround. I think disabling that huge plugin-container file might help. By the time I've watched one video both Firefox and plug-in container are up around 200k each, much,much, much larger than anything else running on my system.
So is disabling plugin-containter still viable? Firefox crashing is never going to happen, if plug-in container freezes up my system first. Continually closing and reopening Firefox as a workaround doesn't seem to be way it was intended to perform.

Docked iPod only outputs sound during video to TV

I have a 5G iPod in an Apple dock, connected to my TV using a Monster audio cable and an S-Video cable. For some reason, it only outputs sound during videos or a photo slide show - not at all for music only playback. I'm baffled! Any idea why? It's a Panasonic plasma, and I've tried three different inputs. None work for music, but video is fine.

The iPhone 4, unlike iPod, doesn't ask you to set for PAL or NTSC. In fact, in the SETTINGS/Video menu it only asks if you want to "Start Playing From Beginning", "Closed Captioning" and "Home Sharing". I was surprised it had no settings like the iPod at all.

Playback in audition suddenly starting to skip and stutter?

I'm using a us 122l and have had no issues with it all, even after somebody accidentally dropped a glass of water onto it a few months back. But last night when I was recording a song, just like I have been for the past year and a half, the program started to skip and stutter while I was moving along the multi track view. Then after about twenty minutes, audition would play one second of the song before crackling out into silence. I changed the US122's latency to it's worst quality and it helped a little, and the same when I use ASIO4ALL, but the program is still unusable.
I haven't made any changes to my computer, no new audio cards or anything, it's exactly the same as it has been since I started recording with it. It wasn't even an stressful track for the computer, it was only three tracks running simultaneously.
P.S, I'm using Vista, I have 1 gig of ram and all the audio on the rest of my computer runs perfectly fine through my default audio card, ASIO4ALL and the US122, (itunes etc). So something is up with audition. This is the first time it hasn't worked properly, so I don't know what it could be.

Yeah.. I really should get more ram.

and no, I'm not recording a lot of tracks really.. I mean. I'm only doing one at a time, I'm not recording a drum set or anything, I was just doing vocals.
I have done tracks in the past with a huge number of tracks dedicated to clapping, and ambient noise things, and I've never had any trouble.
Just suddenly last night during a routine recording session it started to mess up.
I'm doing a virus scan now as a last resort, but I have no idea what changed that caused the computer to suddenly have so much trouble with latency, it's really weird.
Even looking online at forums and things I haven't found anything.
